I may be swinging a fruit bat in a room full of hornet's nests here, but do americans know that most of the world doesn't look the way the US does? Like, specifically concerning ethnic diversity.

Coming from Europe, the fist time I went to the US, I was shocked by it, not in a negative way but in the same "wow, that's a real thing?" sort of way as western people finding out that there actually are that kind of pillar mountains in China, or americans who had never seen Fjord Horses in anything but the movie Frozen finding out that those fantastical yellow ponies are actually real.

I had travelled before, and at 19 I considered myself quite worldly enough to go to a different continent I had never been on to go meet up a man from the internet, all by myself. Hello! I've seen a ton of cool AUs that portray him (and more specifically his mom) from different backgrounds, but I believe he is canonically white.

For Tim, I've seen some posts mentioning that some comic book creator was going to make him Jewish. They never quite added that into canon (his dad is atheist and his mom is implied to be Catholic), but that might be another reason why he's been portrayed as Jewish or other cultural backgrounds in AUs. Personally, it's rad to see how his storyline, characterization, or choices may or may not change or be affected by changing his upbringing, cultural background, or race. I've seen some cool AUs with Red Room or Russian decent Tim Drake.

I'm honestly not positive on Jason. I don't think DC quite confirmed a specific ethnicity for him, but he's implied to be white. I was trying to find anything that mentioned it, and someone talked about how, when he was researching who his bio mom is, he seriously considered Lady Shiva. This could indicate that he's racially ambiguous.

I personally hc him to be a third or fourth generation immigrant on his dad's side. This, in the hc, could be examined for how his dad may face social and structural barriers to obtaining work. Combined with his dad becoming a father at a young age (anywhere from 18 to 23), Willis was forced to find illegal work just to pay his bills for his family. At least, that's my hc if we're going with a good parent Willis.

You are correct that the Waynes, due to their mixed backgrounds, may face hate or be targeted by hate groups. Barbara may also be included with this due to her visible disability (I hc that some of the Waynes have, at the very least, some invisible disabilities). If we're going strictly off of canonically proven backgrounds/traits, Tim would face hate for being openly bisexual.

I am not aware of any hate groups residing within Gotham. I could 100% be wrong about that. There is the possibility of eugenicists, anti-meta groups, and supremacists (especially in positions of power) existing in Gotham. On the other hand, some of the Rogues would probably decimate those groups if they tried to root themselves in Gotham. That city is chaotic, but I love the hc that the Bats and some rogues (like Harley, Riddler, and Ivy) protect Pride events and other such gatherings. I find it more healing to think about the Rogues, despite being mass murders, drawing the line at being a bigot.

I've seen some fics that chat about the Waynes coming to Damian's defense when he's being racially targeted at school or galas. I haven't seen any for the Waynes as a whole being targeted by hate groups, but that is a possibility to explore. At the very least, there may be some awful shit online that Barbara stumbles across (even if the users aren't based in Gotham due to the Waynes being famous).

Imagine for a second that you're Palestinian.

Imagine waking up to the news that a nearby city has been bombed by Israel. The reasoning being they're searching for Hamas. You go outside and you look around. You don't see any members of Hamas anywhere. You only see family, friends, and neighbors.

Pretty soon a bomb is going to hit your city, and you're not going to be given the ample time needed to make preparations for you and your family. You're going to see the ground be leveled by bombs that are being dropped, buildings are going to crumble, cities are going to collapse. There will be so many who will die, people you don't even know, but that your heart aches for.

You're going to be outside when one of the nearby bombs hits. You're going to feel the dust and smoke in the air. You're going to hear the screams of people as they search for their loved ones, or even worse find them already dead. You're going to have to listen as parents scream for their children. Perhaps you are even one of them.

You're going to see men dig through the crumbled rocks and stones in an effort to get out to the people who were in the building when it collapsed. Their efforts will be futile because if they do manage to get through all that rubble the person underneath it is most likely already dead.

You're going to see children playing a game called carry the martyr, a game that is so morbid there hasn't been one like it since ring around the rosie, which was a game about the plague. You're going to see people write numbers and names on their arms as a way to be identified when and if they die when the next bomb hits, because it's going to hit and it's going to be soon. You don't know when it will happen but you know that it will.

You are going to see children and babies in hospitals covered with dust from the bombs, shaking and crying, if even that. They will most likely be silent because of the shock. They will start having panic attacks because they are scared and worried for when the next bomb will hit. The oldest hasn't even hit double digits yet.

Maybe you're not even there when it happens. Maybe you're in a western country, and you're findng out everything that's happening to your people online. Maybe you have family over there who you've lost contact with. Family you may never get to see again, who you may never even know their fates, you can only assume.

You will be told that you are the problem. That you, as a Palestinian, are the problem. That because of Hamas, you are being bombed. That it is your fault. That Israel is just doing what it needs to do with the occupation and the ethnic cleansing. The entire world will look at you as the aggressors.

I'm so glad I got over myself and went to the Asian grocery store.

So, I just need to get something off of my chest and this post may piss some people off and I'm fine with that because I'm not going to hold back here.

Today, I have deleted my main TikTok account. And it's not just because of the rampant misogyny, transphobia, racism, and xenophobia. It's not just those things that pushed me off the app.

As I was scrolling through my friends' page, I came across a video of a mutual making a video reply to someone saying "they're going to be extinct soon, anyways" in reference to Palestinians. So they said something along the lines of "the hotels there are going to be great" and another mutual making the comment (and I'm paraphrasing) how Jared Kushner has potential investments in it.

It was just the nail in the coffin and listen, I am (mostly) white, but I also have indigenous heritage. My paternal grandmother's family were Yoeme (Yaqui) and I grew up hearing things like "natives went extinct" and things like that. I have had the chance to talk to Palestinians who DM'd me on that app. I would tell them that "what you're going through happened to my ancestors too" and the plight of indigenous Americans being so similar to Palestinians.

Plus, after a year of watching parents literally having to carry the remains of their own children in bags and parents holding the bodies of their headless children, I am so disgusted beyond belief that the people I thought would never say this.

And this was because people were so upset with the Biden administration that some didn't vote at all, voted Trump, or went third party. Kokoro Kuju (空呪心) also known as Beelzebuz is an artist and second member of Kitakyushu Division's VIVA⭐️RIUM. An artist of endless talent and skill, he is known for his surrealist and grotesque art, may that be of his illustrations or his statues, they actively post them on the platform PROFILE.

Last year, he was involved in a controversy online with a now-deleted artwork and a former follower of his and now, he has entered the DRB in search of not only a brand new darling, but also a particular ‘landmine boy’ he was once cordial with.

Appearance

Kokoro is a young man in his early 20s, he has porcelain colored skin and is of an effeminate build. He has amethyst colored eyes and his waist-length, deep red hair is formed into four drills, two in front of his face and two behind. His ears are pierced on his lobes and industrials, both of his lobes have the earring of a bloody pair of scissors and for his industrials his right piercing is a knife and the left is a bloodied fork.

His usual get up is a frilly black blouse with puffed sleeves whose edges fade to white and look like fly wings, a dark gray corset, and a white tiered skirt with a print of flies on it. He wears white torn tights and wine red Mary Janes whose soles resemble human teeth.

Kokoro’s Hypnosis Microphone is a ceramic white stand mic. The mouthpiece is a white and gold teacup containing the face of a person whose mouth moves in sync with Kokoro as he raps, the stand is a ghastly white arm holding onto the teacup, this arm is really long and the stand ends on a saucer with fingers underneath it.

Kokoro’s speakers take the form of a gigantic gold picture frame filled with 5 bugs: a beetle, a butterfly, a moth, a dragonfly, and a fly. They are all not in a good condition, the butterfly has stunted wings too small to support itself, the beetle is missing one wing and half of its limbs, the moth lacks its head, the dragonfly has its wings torn, and the fly looks halfway eaten by ants. Each bug holds a spherical speaker in their arms.

All the 5 bugs are stuck in the frame but whenever Kokoro activates their mic, the bugs break out from the glass on the frame, this leaves a few shards on the bugs.

Kokoro’s rap ability, Cut Open, makes the target hallucinate being cut open and bleeding on one of their body parts, and if they do believe in the hallucination then they get weakened and that leaves them open to be attacked by Kokoro and/or his teammates.

Their rap themes revolve around things people usually find gross— bugs, coagulated blood, mold, you name it! And to Kokoro, they find these gross things as their own art, even to the point of obsession. If not that, he gets to rap about social media, his dependency on likes, and how he fell in love with a certain somebody all thanks to that. As the rap battle goes on, Kokoro makes it unbearable for their opponent(s) to get to listen to their rap as it gradually borders toward graphic.

Personality

Offline, Kokoro is withdrawn and constantly brooding, preferring to keep distance from others, sometimes even towards their teammates. He is uninterested in things he considers trivial.

When talking about his art or being online however, Kokoro is very enthusiastic and it gets really hard to keep up with him. When he gets inspiration for his art he’ll start making it asap, even when all he has is just trash on the sidewalk somewhere outside home.

He is obsessed with social media, likes and shares determine his happiness and self-worth and when he thinks his posts aren’t doing well as he thought he gets upset about it. Speaking of socmed, that was also where he fell in love with [REDACTED] and he frequently checks that person’s page with every hour, minute, and second he could get, sometimes even trying to gain access to private information about them; the problem is that he doesn’t know such behaviors aren’t considered good for either himself or the people around him.

In the end all he wants is to gain attention for both his work and as himself, especially when that attention comes from that special someone.
