listen I'm already busy watching and reading naruto, but seeing all the stuff you reblog about one piece (specifically law🤭) kind of makes me want to start watching it😭
*slaps down one piece* my dear friend I would never make you watch this long series and join this cult but if you do I will babble to you for hours on end
Unfortunately Law - the absolute hottie with those delicious tattoos - doesn’t come until later (and along with another character named Corazon aka the clown you may see with Law who I also greatly adore) but holy shit I truly do love every character to bits including Luffy and the entire crew (even the villains are fun despite wanting to punch some of them in the face) and … yeah again I could scream on for hours

Everyone who watches 911 is entitled to have their opinions on the show. Good, bad, or indifferent. This goes the same for Buddie. But don't assume you can make posts talking about how "willfully delusional" you think people in your own fandom are simply because we're talking our cues from the show (and the people involved in it) and seeing the signs of Buddie canon without any push back.
I‘ve been watching this show for years and in my opinion we have never been closer to Buddie canon than we are now. This isn’t just fans seeing what we want to see this is everything that’s gone on with the show, it's creators, and cast since the promo for s7 started.
Before s7 even started Ryan and Oliver were doing tons of press together. There was more talk of Buddie than had ever been previously. We had Ryan and Oliver talking at the s7 premiere about how Buddie's relationship was changing and how they were going to be getting even closer.
During s7 we had more Buddie scenes than we had in recent seasons and not just like scenes of them working together but scenes that cemented their relationship and showed them becoming even closer than they'd been. Scenes like Eddie relying on Buck to help with Chris (multiple times during the season). Scenes like Buck talking about how worried he was about Eddie during the Kim stuff.
It's even more clear that Buddie canon is where things are headed when you look at how Tim chose to handle B/T vs Buddie in s7. If Tim was planning on making B/T a long term ship there were so so many times he could have done more to develop them and he didn't instead the development was put into Buddie.
704 was not about Buck trying to get T*mmy's attention it was about Buck having these big intense emotions he didn't know how to deal with or really understand (because they were about his best friend) and misplacing them onto T*mmy. If Buddie wasn't a part of the plan I don't believe Tim would have ever even included Eddie in that episode especially not the way he did. It would seriously be one of the stupidest moves the show could make. They know how much of their audience ships Buddie, hell people who don't even watch the show talk about Buddie.
Plus it's obvious that Buddie's karaoke scene in 706 was supposed to be a parallel to Maddie and Chim starting to realize their feelings for one another in 208 (when they did karaoke). But the karaoke scene was pulled once they were renewed for s8 when they likely decided to pause on Buddie happening and Eddie coming out until they had more time. Why else would they have them singing a karaoke duet to a love song (in Madney's wedding episode no less) if Buddie canon was never going to happen?
Then you had the very domestic scene in 707 with Buck commenting on Eddie's cologne and throwing food into his mouth. And zero mention of T*mmy in the entire episode. Then in 709 you had Buck looking at Eddie (not T*mmy) when he got his award. In 710 it was Eddie by Buck's side the whole time Bobby was at the hospital and the only scene B/T got was that dinner scene which didn't do one single thing to further develop that relationship.
Back to the bts of it all. Oliver liked and commented on Buddie stuff throughout s7. He also posted Ryan often on his stories. Most importantly he posted a pic of him and Ryan on the basketball court after the B/T kiss in 704. If I remember correctly after the B/T dinner scene in 710 he also posted something to do with Buddie too.
You also had Oliver saying in interviews that he sees what Buddie fans sees and we're not wrong. He also talked about Buddie as how it could work if it happens. Ryan also talked about Buddie happening and said it was baby steps for them to get there. Ryan also said in one interview (can't remember the exact wording) but it was something about who should lead like who should come out first and it was decided it was going to be Buck. But the way he worded it was very clear that both of them are supposed to come out not just one. Lou also talked about how it was originally going to be Eddie getting the queer storyline (with T*mmy) and instead they decided on it being Buck. Lou also talked early on about Buddie and B/T as T*mmy being someone that is basically getting Buck ready for Buddie.
I firmly believe that Oliver would not be interacting with Buddie stuff nor talking about Buddie as much as he has in interviews if he knew Buddie was never going to happen. He's said point blank before he stopped talking about Buddie in the past because he didn't want the fans to feel led on. I think this is part of why he hasn't really interacted with B/T shippers or anything much to do with that ship. He knows it's not meant to last and he doesn't want those fans to feel like he's lying to them.
I know people look at Ryan calling Eddie heterosexual during some of his s7 interviews as a sign that Buddie isn't going to happen but as soon as s7 was over and he had a couple of interviews he started using gender neutral phrasing and saying things like "partner". There was also an interview where he talked about how Buck is basically taking Shannon's place.
Now as we've started to get promo stuff for s8 a lot of the social media stuff has been revolving around Ryan and Oliver with it leaning more towards Ryan. This is similar to how it was for s7 only things were leaning more towards Oliver because of everything that took place with Buck. It's clear that Eddie is going to have a big storyline this season and it can't just be that he's missing Chris or going back to religion.
ABC and Tim know how popular Buddie is and they know how huge it will be for the show and their network to have Buddie go canon. It's why they're handling this very carefully. Honestly I don't think they would have even had Buck come out if they weren't at least considering Buddie because they would have known that the fans yelling for Buddie would only get louder once one of them was confirmed queer. And like I said earlier if they had no intention of Buddie they would have at the least been distancing Buck and Eddie and certainly wouldn't have made Buck's entire coming out episode all about him.
They also would have told the actors to limit talking about Buddie in interviews and the journalists wouldn't have been allowed to ask about Buddie. If you look back at previous seasons and the kind of interviews Ryan and Oliver had Buddie was rarely if ever talked about. That's because Fox did not want it to happen and networks can control what is talked about in official interviews. There's a reason Buddie was talked about so much during the s7 interviews. It's the same reason B/T has barely been talked about even though it should have been a much bigger deal being Buck's first relationship with a guy.
Oh also there was the person on twitter who claimed to have inside info for the show and proved that at different times during s7 with how they seemed to know stuff long before the episodes would air. They said that people behind the scenes had been trying to have Eddie come out in s5 and again in s7 it just hasn't worked out yet. This also fits with what Oliver said that Buck was originally supposed to come out in s4. This fits too with the shooting storyline and the panic attacks early on in s5. Buck would have had his bi awakening in s4 and maybe his feelings realization after the shooting. This would lead to Eddie having his queer awakening during the whole Ana storyline in s5. But Fox shut all of that down.
My point in all of this is that there's a lot of evidence to back up why Buddie fans are so sure about Buddie canon this time. More so than any other season. It's not just us seeing the show through our buddie tinted glasses. It's the most logical outcome at this point. Sure we could all be wrong and the show could leave us heartbroken but at the same time it's still fun to be excited and hopeful about the show.
Oh and one more thing. I get it if you don't like Eddie's mustache, we all have things we find attractive or don't for whatever reason. But continually comparing Eddie, a Mexican man who many lgbtq people relate to and see as queer coded, to characters you describe as "violent and abusive" or a "corrupt cop" just feels all kinds of wrong to me.
Again like I already stated above Buddie canon and Eddie being queer might not happen but there is plenty of evidence to back up why people see Eddie as a queer character. In some ways he's been far more queer coded than even Buck has been. To get upset at people for seeing the mustache as another sign of queer coding makes zero sense to me. You can think it looks unattractive but mustaches have a long history of symbolism in queer men's culture. This isn't just about thinking it looks like Freddie Mercury it's that mustaches (especially ones that look like Eddie's this season) have often by used by queer men as a signifier of their sexuality to other queer men. So the idea that the show is using it as an early sign to the audience that that's where they're taking his character isn't totally out of the realm of possibility.
You are free to disregard all of the facts I just pointed out. You are free to see the show how you want. But you're not free to insult the people in your own fandom and then act surprised when people don't want to follow you or even go so far as to block you because they're tired of the negativity. I mean we get enough of that from B*mmy stans we don't need it in our own fandom too.
If the fandom and the show is causing you to be unhappy it might be time to consider taking a break.

Welcome to Anna wants to write a color meta because she noticed Buck's shirt in 710 was blue.
Okay, so, a while back I was rewatching the tsunami arc, as one does, and I noticed the way that madney has "we want kids someday" conversation while wearing blue and red. That also happens to be the color combo bathena was wearing while Athena says they don't want more kids. That's also the color Buck and Eddie are wearing during the "there's nobody in this world I trust with my son more than you" or the scene where we establish that Chris is Buck's too.
Tumblr media
And I just thought to myself, huh, cool thing to add to the arc, and moved with my life, until I noticed the amount of blue and red surrounding henren's "we want more kids" arc because then it becomes a color combo about parenting, which is an interesting combo to have.
But using the rules I usually use, that everything is about every element of the scene, not just the clothes, they actually start establishing that during 218 when they decide on the IVF and it continues to be used through the IVF and into the fostering arc. Like when they are talking to Athena about the changes a new baby will bring in 304, when they get Nia in 311. And it's also an element during the Mara plot in season 7.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's also the way madney finds out they are pregnant in red and blue.
Tumblr media
But there are things like the blue and red elements in 516 when we get May calling Bobby her dad.
Tumblr media
Because the thing with the suspenders is that we are usually seeing the yellow part of them, even in other moments during mayday, the yellow bit is a lot more prominent, so they made the choice to put Bobby's like that, so he would have that blue and red on him.
Tumblr media
This got me thinking, because while I was making my buddie in every episode set for 303, I realized the way that Christopher's glasses work in a similar way. (Also, how many color theory moments can I use this scene in? Apparently all of them lol) Even the sirens and the way they give Buck a blue phone.
Tumblr media
And it's also interesting that Eddie is wearing blue and Buck gives him the glasses, so Buck doesn't have the red anymore, but we have the blue and red from the truck and the background, and then Chris himself becomes the red element and Buck's background is suddenly blue elements. There's also the way Eddie is holding blue gloves throughout the whole scene.
Tumblr media
And Chris continues to contribute to the color combo later because his glasses and crutches are red and his shirt has blue in it. His backpack is also blue.
Tumblr media
So, a very prominent color combo during the arc that establishes the co-parenting.
But I thought they kept the blue and red aspect during 710 just with Chris' backpack because I thought Buck's shirt was black. But his shirt is blue.
Tumblr media
So, yeah, they had Buck there as Eddie's co-parent. We knew that but... colors.
As always, if you read this, I love you.

Here are some eliotrope concept art and character sheets from the Oropo special episode I found from this article which were taken from a 2016 presentation of Dofus 3, a game that would have happened decades after the Dofus game right before Ogrest’s chaos. However, the game completely changed during its production and became Waven instead.
I figured it’d be nice to share them here too since not everyone has access to Twitter or reads numerous online articles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
According to @uelman, the Oma Island visit predates the Wakfu era.
Oropo is present on the Dofus MMO in the years around 640. Although since “One More Gate” (the game about Oropo being stuck in the Eliacube) is set to happen in 710, he was trapped around the time of Ogrest’s chaos. The Siblings would have had to follow his instructions after it happened to cause it.
It also looks like there are some scenes in the work-in-progress footage that could have been actual scenes in the episode.
For example, there is a scene featuring a female eliotrope with an eagle armor, who seems to be encountering a Sadida that looks like Amalia. Additionally, there is a shot of Ripulse opening a portal, with an entity either going in or out of the portal he summoned. And in another, Chibi appeared to be wielding his hammer while enveloped in flames, indicating a possible combo attack with Grougal. These scenes could have been important (excluding Chibi’s lol) but unfortunately, they might have been removed due to budget constraints or creative decisions. It would have been interesting to see these eliotropes have more screen time since these events seemed to have been important to the lore.
I swear if we do manage to get a season 5 with 26 episodes like Tot said, I hope we get to see more flashbacks of Ripulse and the eagle girl. I had initially been expecting them to appear in Season 4, and I was happy for a second since that’s exactly what I wanted, until I realized that Bouillon and Oropo ended up being the ones who took a lot of space inside Yugo’s head. I was disappointed to have only seen them in the back without saying anything.
Let’s hope for that Season 5 ✨
(It just occurred to me that the female eliotrope ended up being the only one between her brothers to not have her name displayed on her character art…This makes me now wonder if Tot even had a name for her at all…Cuz like- Not showing a character’s name in the first episode where they’re introduced is one thing but not having their name in their concept art?? Really???)

ok. so in this episode. they were going to have this scene, the scene where tommy says "enjoy it while it lasts" when buck is excited about the medal, the deleted eddie buck chris scene where they look like a little family, the camera panned to eddie, buck and bobby discussing how he's going to see tommy, buck going to see eddie instead. and then all of 710. okay!
and this of course means nothing.

Thinking about Ravi telling Buck 'I like who I am' and telling him 'that's what we want in a partner right, someone to watch our back?' and Ravi being a sick child who survives vs Buck being born to save a sick child and Ravi being the one who had Buck's back during the 6x18 bridge collapse as they got the entire team to safety and Ravi watching Buck try to leave the team after Chim left but being stopped by the others and - something about Buck training Ravi for the job but Ravi possibly having a better understanding of the things Buck struggles with. If S8 is smart, I need them to let these two have a friendship because there's too many threads that work.
literally started tearing up reading this what is wrong with me i love him so much he’s the best. yeah if they’re smart they’ll realize what they have with ravi and his dynamics with not only buck but BOBBY. like those two are just the cutest shit ever and it brought me to the most tears ever in 710 so i need it again.
also one thing i love about “i like who i am” is that i feel like… serious disease aside…. they’ve opened up ravi for the possibility of a genuinely loving and supportive family life. if we did see a raving begins episode i would love it to focus on how he fought his illness not family demons, and show a different set of struggles than we’ve experienced so far with the current main cast.
and an extra thing i’ve been thinking about especially for you since you came to me with buckravi besties; i think it would be incredibly interesting for us to learn that ravi had the same kind of cancer as daniel. it would open a door to a really interesting storyline i think and allow buck and ravi to bond and understand each other in a way that no one else at the 118 could ever do for either of them. i just think there’s a lot they could do with buck and ravi and i fear so badly that it will be fumbled

The history in fiction: Parallels between historical Japan and the Narutoverse
Part 1: The era of the Six Paths
Naruto may not be a historical fiction and most people will think that the utmost historical reference in the series is the fact that ninja were a thing in feudal Japan. But what if I told you that there is an insane amount of historical parallels in the series? That we could actually place the events of the main timeline within real periods of Japanese history? In this two-part series, I’ll be explaining the many parallels, references and design inspirations of the main events and generations that shaped the course of the series that we all know and love. I’ll start with the era of the Six Paths (starting from Kaguya and ending with Indra and Ashura), and part 2 will be about the Warring States (dynamic between the Senju and Uchiha). At the end of each part, I’ll add useful links so that you can deepen your investigation and see my sources. Without further ado, let’s start overanalyzing.
Historical references and parallels in character design and dynamics
I’d place this particular era of the Narutoverse in the Heian period of Japan (or at least the most important people, the brothers Indra and Ashura). Considering that we’re spanning 3 generations here, I’ll separate the individuals involved in the following way:
Kaguya: End of Nara period (710 AD - 784 AD)
Hagoromo and Hamura: Early Heian period (794 AD - 1185 AD)
Indra and Ashura: Heian period (794 AD - 1185 AD)
Kaguya
On a side note, I’d like to add that I’m not really considering Tenji in the list above because he’s an anime only character. However, his case caught my eye so I’ll discuss him as well. Let’s start by evaluating Kaguya and Tenji then. Kaguya’s character design is a very classical archetype of Heian beauty standards and clothing. Long, straight hair with flowy kimono and a delicate face. Her unusual eyebrows are no coincidence as well, as in the Heian period the practice of hikimayu was commonplace in noblewomen.
"Hiki means "pull" and mayu means "eyebrows". Aristocratic women used to pluck or shave their eyebrows and paint new ones using a powdered ink called haizumi, which was made of soot from sesame or rapeseed oils." (source)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Left: Filler anime episode // Right: Manga panel
Tumblr media
Above: Hikimayu through the ages of Japan
Another interesting fact that I’d like to point out is that Kaguya is a character with striking similarity to a Japanese folk tale, in this case the Tale of Princess Kaguya (Kaguyahime no monogatari), whose origin we can trace back to Heian Japan. The Tale of Princess Kaguya tells the story of a little baby girl who “fell from the skies” and was found by a couple of old farmers inside of a bamboo. She grew up to be extremely beautiful and was courted by lots of noblemen, but she rejected them all insisting that somebody would come for her, as she looked at the moon. Of course, Naruto provides us with a different ending to the story but this similarity can’t be overlooked.
Tumblr media
Above: "The Receding Princess" from The Japanese Fairy Book, 1908
Moving on to Tenji, it gets a bit more complicated to place him in an exact historical moment as he has elements of many different periods. His hairstyle resembles the styling of the Jomon period, whereas the entire setting in the filler episodes are more similar to the Nara period with the many small kingdoms fighting for dominance within a vast land, just like pre-unification Japan. Therefore, I place Kaguya and Tenji at the end of the Nara period, because we see how Kaguya takes over Tenji’s rulership and is regarded as a noblewoman after she casts the first Infinite Tsukuyomi. I have to rely on some filler in this case because otherwise I can’t find a logical explanation as to why Hagoromo was so well settled and had a large group of people following his teachings if it wasn’t for Kaguya ruling some land that originally belonged to Tenji.
Hagoromo and Hamura
Let’s start with the second generation. Following the events of the end of the Nara period I quoted in the previous section, Hagoromo and Hamura would go in the beginning of the Heian period. Their character designs feature long, flowy tunics without a visible belt. Here you have an image of men’s clothes through Japanese history, the third one being a feudal lord of the Heian period. Compare and contrast with these anime and manga images.
Tumblr media
Above: “Men’s Japanese clothes” by Glimja
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Left: Filler anime episode with both // Right: Hagoromo manga panel
Again, since we get very few manga panels related to Hagoromo and his sons, I’ll refer once again to the filler episodes where he is shown as the ruler of a village. The spot within the Heian period in which I’m placing Hagoromo would be around 100 years after the Taika reforms which established one of the first codes of law in Japan and (Taihō code) and divided the country in provinces ruled by feudal lords. Curiously, around the time where the Taika reforms happened, there was an emperor called Tenji.
Indra and Ashura
The third generation of the alien-human hybrids is here, and I place them in the Heian period as well. My main reason to consider Indra and Ashura in the Heian period is the fact that this is the exact time period where the samurai originate. A common misconception is that a samurai is a Japanese warrior highly trained in the martial arts and weapons. While this statement holds some truth, the samurai were the military social class of feudal Japan, which means that there were people who were of the samurai class but had never touched a weapon in their lives. Therefore, samurai clans were not entirely composed by warriors but also had a number of people who lived a more “civilian” lifestyle. And you may be wondering, “what do the historical samurai have to do with the ninja that we see in Naruto?”. The answer is: more than you think. Historically speaking, the ninja is a samurai specialised in stealth and sneaking, the only difference with the Naruto universe is that the ninja we know and love from the show possess chakra and perform techniques with that.
The story of Indra and Ashura is strongly tied to the origin of ninja clans in Naruto, just as the Heian period is the origin of the samurai clans. From this time period I’d like to highlight the myth of Minamoto no Yorimitsu, more commonly known as Minamoto no Raiko. His story says that he slayed demons (yes, really) and saved many maidens from being abused by drunk oni with his great sword, Dojigiri Yasutsuna. The difference between myth and legend is that myths hold some kind of historical fact whereas legends are purely fictional. Minamoto no Raiko has been heavily mythified and his story sounds unbelievable or too much like a fantasy story until you realise that he did exist and that his sword is kept in a museum. Doesn’t this resemble how the origins of ninja in Naruto are almost like fantasy stories up until Hagoromo shows up in the 4th war and explains that everything was real all along?
Tumblr media
Above: Ukiyo-e of Minamoto no Raiko and others fighting the demon Shuten Doji.
Just as Minamoto no Raiko is considered the first samurai, Indra could be considered the first shinobi. He was the first to channel and shape chakra to create jutsu, and he was considered as part of the legends surrounding Hagoromo. Please compare these two panel sequences, one is from earlier in the story and the second one is Hagoromo’s version.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The brothers’ character design can also be correlated with the Heian period. Indra’s eyebrows seem to be real but resemble the hikimayu design of Kaguya’s eyebrows, however he does add eye makeup. The people who wore makeup in the Heian period were nobles (mostly noblewomen), once again reinforcing my point that this family started out as feudal lords and eventually fused with the warrior class, becoming ninja clans. Although the character design for Indra and Ashura isn’t 100% equal to Heian Japan’s male clothing, the inspiration is subtle yet visible. I’d say that the inspiration is mostly for the plot rather than the appearance of the character. If you’d like to see more real Heian period clothing, this link has recreations of the outfits of the characters in the Tale of Genji, by Murasaki Shikibu.

Ok so for Gerrard’s arc, I have a new idea 😂
So god willing, Brian Thompson will only be in 3 episodes (nothing on him, just his character 😂) and not half the season. So here’s what I want:
Character focused episodes for his arc. I feel like we should start with Eddie, given he was the one left most hung up in 710. We see his summer without Christopher, his struggles to deal and also going back to therapy, really getting down into the worst of what’s still affecting him about losing Shannon. I’d love to see him do a support group for widows and meet someone, even if it’s just another guy friend who can relate. This helps with his relationship with Chris, but maybe he isn’t ready to come back home right away, but that’s okay because Eddie is also finding his stride in learning how to deal with being alone.
Episode 2, I want Hen and Chim. We see Hen and Karen dealing with fighting to get Mara back, all the tangles that they go through with the adoption process, fighting to bring down Ortiz, etc. by the end of this episode, they’re starting to get things in order for Mara to come back home and it’s all looking good. (We’re also getting updates on how Eddie is doing in therapy, etc).
Episode 3 we get Buck and Bobby. We see how Gerrard’s return has affected Evan and Tommy (in good and bad ways, what anxieties it’s brought up for both of them etc), while Bobby is dealing with (literal) home issues, finding a new house in the current market, him and Athena living out of their suitcases while they shuffle between hotels and the 118 sharing their homes (Buck and Eddie esp).
On the option of doing 2 people per episode, if we get Ravi as main cast, he could be included here. We see him and Eddie struggle the most in the beginning with Gerrard because of his racism. (If we also find out Ravi is LGBTQ, this would be an added layer, as the fandom seems to have decided that).
I definitely see Hen and Chimney being the most protective, although Buck will be too, at first. He’ll be least likely to fall into Gerrard’s wrath due to being a white, straight-presenting male who’s just fallen in with the wrong people. Gerrard will think he can educate Evan out of that role. I can even see him being a bit of a shrinking violet, kinda falling into Tommy’s ways of just removing him from the situation as much as possible because he’s trying to protect both himself and Tommy. But then something happens, maybe to Eddie, and Evan feels guilty for it. He tells Tommy about it, expecting sympathy, but Tommy calls him out for doing exactly what he did when he was at the 118, and that’s what flips Buck. He shows up at work the next day and is in full support of his friends again, but this is what gets Gerrard to turn on him, thinking the pretty cis-boy was on his side only to find out he’s not just been playing him, but he’s bisexual and sleeping with Tommy.
Shit gets bad from there. None of them have respect for Gerrard, and they want to stage a mutiny, but Bobby is there to remind them all that this is their job and the man is still in charge, regardless of how much they all hate him. Except they’ve been doing everything the right way for months. They’ve filed complaints, they’ve covered each others backs and stayed out of trouble on calls, but this man doesn’t give a fuck about them.
I really do feel like his undoing will be Buck, because he’ll see him as a turncoat. Most likely a callback to Tommy’s near death, with Eddie or Chim going in after him. Gerrard swears it’s all the kid’s fault and he had no idea that he was still in the building (they all know damn well that he did).
Bobby finally finds a house. Hen and Karen finally get told Mara can come home. Chris is talking to Eddie again. Personally, all of them are thriving. Except for the part where their boss almost got their friend killed.
They show up at Simpsons office in a united front, and tell them that if Gerrard stays, they all walk. He’s racist, homophobic, abusive, and almost got one of their friends killed just a few days ago. Simpson isn’t quite sure he wants to see them win by mutiny, and tells them that this kind of behavior won’t be tolerated.
And then Tommy and Evan walk in (they’re late coming from the hospital and for whatever reason in my head, Evan is on crutches) and tell him that they walk too. And maybe Simpson is okay with an entire firehouse kinda, but losing one of his pilots, especially one who brings him press, well that could cause a domino effect with an entire class of LAFD walking. So he gives in.
I feel like there would be some kind of caveat to this; like maybe Bobby is interim chief and they have to be overseen by someone else (maybe Simpson himself being around a little more regularly), but they get what they want, mostly bc Simpson can risk his planned bid for mayor in the spring. We end the arc with Gerrard out, our people doing better. Final scenes have Mara coming home officially, Eddie on a call with Chris about coming to visit (for thanksgiving break? Idk), maybe staying longer. Bobby and Athena get keys to a new place (maybe they’re renting?). Chimney and Maddie are ready to finally settle back into marriage by themselves after all the chaos. Life is good. And then we get our bow tied with Evan and Tommy at home (whether they still live separately or together is fine either way), Tommy massaging Evan’s bad leg, both of them glad that Gerrard is gone. Maybe this is where we get the vulnerable discussion of Evan telling Tommy he thought he might leave, because that’s what people do when he gets hurt. And Tommy tells him he’s not leaving because he loves him.
Or maybe they just have a sweet moment at home, idk lol. But this is something I could more realistically see happening with the arc (and would prefer).

exactly! i wanted to like tommy tbh i liked him in 703 and 704. 705 was meh to me. i couldnt really find it in myself to care because the entire episode was about buck freaking out about telling eddie. 706 just made me ???? because of the bachelor party scenes. like why are we having the new bf dismiss buck at every turn while eddie is all in if they want us to root for this man. he wouldve had to change at work anyway so why didnt he dress up. then again in 709 he’s just shooting down bucks joy with the “enjoy it while it lasts” thing and then we already discussed 710. like sure buck made it a bit jokey but then tommy sounded completely serious when he said “no i dont. i hope you do though!” im someone who’s very sarcastic in her own humor and i couldnt tell he was joking. like i get that they want tommy to be snarky or whatever but something about it just falls flat for me. some of the comments he makes feel like stuff he shouldn’t feel comfortable saying yet to someone he’s only started seeing in the past couple months.
also the evan thing confuses me because lou said on cameo the script supervisor told him he isnt allowed to call buck ‘buck’. i wonder if thatll ever be addressed in s8 because that feels weird to me. especially since buck has insisted people call him buck in the past but idk if thats even anything to actually think about. like im not sure if the writers just dont know what to do with this man or if they’re actually writing him to be a short term thing. its so easy to add depth to their relationship and open up a chance to be vulnerable but they either choose not to entirely or give those moments to eddie -birthmark anon
NO SAME LIKE I AM DOWN FOR RIVAL LOVE INTERESTS TO MY SHIPS IF THEYRE WRITTEN WELL
I WAS MID TYPING I HOPE YOU DONT SEE THIS YET
Like I made a whole post about how the show bones had Hannah and she was the best and the way they wrote her made her GENUINELY likeable
And 911 couldve pulled that off so easily with Tommy but just keep choosing not to??? Like they are making (imo) very intentional writing choices that just don’t develop him or bucktommy very well when they could literally just NOT make those choices like they’re fully in control so while these things are realistic and can have good explanations the writers are intentionally choosing to include them and write them a specific way
Like idk about you but if I wanted people to aim for my couple I would go about it VERY differently

So do we take this as confirmation that it’s not happening since they once again shut it down.
No, for me this is an even bigger confirmation that Buddie is in the plans we just need to be patient. I firmly believe that they wouldn't have even gone down the route with making Buck bi especially not how his bi awakening happened in 704 if there was never any intention of making Buddie happen. It centered very heavily around Eddie.
Some might argue well maybe Tim wanted to make it happen but then changed his mind and or someone behind the scenes stopped it. I think it's likely that the network didn't want both Buck and Eddie coming out in such a short season. They also probably wanted to wait and see how the ratings went after making a major change to a newly acquired show. I also think it's likely that Tim wanted to wait and tell Eddie's story when he had more episodes to do it in. Buck's coming out was told as a relatively simple and happy story. I don't think Eddie's is going to be the same. We're probably going to see Eddie struggle and it's going to be harder for him to accept who he is than it was for Buck. Telling that kind of story properly does need more time.
Also like I talked about in this post, I think Tim wanted to do his artsy Vertigo story with the whole Kim/Shannon thing. So it wasn't just that the network paused it I think Tim had other ideas for this season and he chose to focus on that.
The other thing you need to remember is that if Buddie was really off the table for good they would have lessened the amount of time they had them on screen together and I'm positive more effort would have been put into B/T. This season was already very crunched for time so there was definitely episodes were they didn't need to include Buddie but they did.
Look at ep 707 with the Buddie and Chris scene (when Eddie drops Chris off so he can go on the date with Kim) where Buck compliments Eddie's cologne. Even all the way into episodes 709 and 710 where they had plenty of time to lessen Buddie and add in more B/T if that's the direction they wanted things to go leading into s8. But they didn't.
In fact in 709 we had Buck apparently ditching T*mmy to go talk to Eddie after seeing Kim at the fire station. There was very little of T*mmy even in that episode and the short scene we got between him and Buck T*mmy was being kind of snippy with him. There was also the shot where when Buck got his award the camera pans to Eddie not T*mmy. This had to be a delebrite choice because even the DP Joaquin Sedillo liked a tweet about it.
Then Buddie were together most of 7x10 and were a real family unit. Both in dealing with everything with Chris and also with sitting by Bobby's bedside together. This is incredibly important with it being the season finale because 911 has always used the final episodes of every season as a preview of where things are likely headed.
We did get that date scene with T*mmy in 7x10 but the message there was what it's been all season and that's T*mmy doesn't really get who Buck is. If T*mmy was being set up to be this important person in Buck's life he would have been at the hospital with Buck or at the least had an emotional conversation with him about all he'd been dealing with. Instead we saw Buck trying to be vulnerable and T*mmy turning it into a joke.
I am more sure now than I've ever been that Buddie is a when not an if. We just can't let that other part of fandom get to us or over think if we see things Tim posts on FB or Lou posts with his cameos.
Not sure if you were around in fandom years ago but Taylor stuck around for two seasons and she's gone now. T*mmy will be soon enough too. The best person for Buck is Eddie and the best person for Eddie is Buck. No matter who else they bring into the show they'll never be able to compete with the chemistry and history that Buddie have. Tim and ABC know this and they also know the popularity that Buddie have. They know the amount of attention and praise they'll get when Buddie finally does happen. They're not going to pass that up.
