Hi! It's very pleasing to know you've been around for as long! 😁😁😁 I absolutely appreciate the appreciation! And no worries, your English is super fine! 😁 (Relatable actually. I am also apologizing in advance if I can't exactly have my point clearly across because I'm not well at English myself! lmao)

It took me quite some time to learn how to draw chubby characters but it's so satisfying to have eventually. ( *`u*) (I mean, there's still so much to learn, but still.)

Having a chubby main protagonist is so wonderful to have. And a good kid at that. (Ngl I'm attracted to kindness. haha So of course it's very important to me that he's fat AND kind.)

Also design-wise, I personally think it fits his character so well. Soft and huggable, shaped like a friend. Thick arms to hug people with snuggly. Body wide like a shield. etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And I just really like to capture these elements when I draw him as an adult. Also that it's just fun to draw.

Simply personal thoughts about it, nothing against any other ways he's being portrayed by others of course.

#And it's not even because English isn't my first language. Just generally bad at language. RIP #I had this conversation with someone once where they headcanon he'd get lower back pains if he slim down because of how his gem will #poke or stab his spine #I really like that he's chubby/fat just because. and that he's happy and confident about it #but him being fat not entire by choice is an interesting angle to look at.#I mean obviously he's naturally chubby because of DNA too but you get when I mean. or I hope you do. ;u;#Yo I had a theory.... or at least a headcanon about how his gem is arranged inside his body and how it's practically designed so it can be #passed down eventually without killing him. But I never get to a cohesive written explanation about it so I kept procrastinating.#I like to think the Pink Diamond gem will become like an heirloom. The level of unawareness I had in drawing fat characters is crazy back then.#when I thought I drew a chubby character but the reality was that she was still slim! I still have her saved in my Deviant Art account #Nobody would've known because she's my OC.#If I were to argue with that past me that she's not chubby. Past me would be extremely confused because she is totally convinced that she #drew a chubby character. Mind you I was above 18 then too.#I had another OC I wanted to be really chunky but I was so bad at it that I found an excuse why she's so slim so I can avoid drawing chunky #I did eventually made her chunky but I almost never posted any of my OCs lol. She also have a black and pink theme. 🤔#Same with skin color but it happened in my own Sona. I have a tan skin tone and I thought I gave my Sona the same skin...but like... I miss foreign language classes so much. Truly one of the great joys of my life that I haven't experienced in years

#I can and have learned/studied languages on my own but I do way better with someone giving me assignments and deadlines #who can also answer my endless questions #is there some way I could even like find a partner whom I could practice with?#like a native speaker of a target language who is learning English #Duolingo is good practice but it's not as good as a textbook or actual conversation

Just heard Ballister's English voice for the first time (I watched the movie in Spanish), and, ngl, that wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Which is funny, given he looks exactly like his VA.

love when people in my life think of me whenever they need language interpreting/translating and are like “hey do you speak [x] language?” and 90% of the time I do not know that particular language but I’m still very flattered they considered me

#it’s never French because there’s like 0 French speakers here that don’t also speak English #I think it’s genuinely the most useless language I know but they didn’t have German in high school and I thought Spanish was boring so #French it was #Spanish would definitely have been the more lucrative option lmao #maybe I’ll finally take me a proper class one day to get my skills polished #bc I know a good bit but just don’t have practice listening and speaking #read a whole book? no problem #try to have an in person conversation with a native? I’m only embarrassing myself #also I guess Hungarian would be more useless than French #but we have a pretty good Hungarian pop here so there’s honestly still a better chance that will be needed before French #going to Quebec being my only opportunity to use it and then everyone hears I’m not native and just speaks in English anyway 💀#like I didn’t study this language for 10+ years not to use it on the rare opportunities #kitchie beszél

#i imagine what the french article means to say is that the phrase “imperial cult” was only coined in modern times #as we have no records of it actually being used. and what we today call imperial cult is our understanding of collection of #diverse practices and frames of reference relating to roman emperors #but it is worthy of note that the french version is the only one that goes out of its way #to undermine the validity and even existence of any possible latin occurence of the phrase #conversely the english article is the only one that gies out of its way to include the latin phrase in the definition #granting it a de facto validity and implicitly enshrining it in our representation of ancient rome #in fact it seems that the english article is the only one to ever reference the phrase “cultus imperatorius” (along with the latin article)#(which adds insult to injury if youre ythe french nerd who's editing the french article)

ah, well, so about that. most of the languages in that list are supposed to be crossed out ! back when I made my blog you could do a few html things in the blog description, but it doesn't show up anymore, especially not on the app/mobile. so now it just looks like a long list of languages which is a bit misleading

I am definitely interested in all those languages, and have taken a few classes or self-studied most of them over the years, but I definitely don't speak all of them

should probably be edited/updated, but I'm not even sure I'd still remember how to do that...

#langblr #I'd say I speak afrikaans english and french #am conversant enough in german and dutch (they're basically freebies with afrikaans as an L1 (although that does cause interference !!))#yiddish I studied while taking a course on the literature of the shoah at uni #and while i do still read forverts regularly #most of my jewish friends moved abroad after uni so I don't actually *use* the language anymore or have an active connection to it #so I don't think it counts anymore #xhosa and persian i've studied a lot as well #i can remember how the grammar works and a handful of words #but i can't speak or read or do anything to a useful/practical level #gothic and toki pona are special #and then nul points to sesotho and japanese. they're on my list. I will learn them one day #i also want to learn bambara and my friend has suggested we learn italian #but I haven't started either of those yet either

despite all my strength and my convictions (or maybe because of them) i can't deal with talking with my mom when she starts talking about god :( most of all, i just can't deal with the way she's so unhappy, and the more she talks about how praying helps her the more devastated she sounds. and she refuses to get any other help. and i guess shit, even if she tried it, even if the impossible happened, maybe therapy wouldn't help her? especially if she grew up thinking it's worthless / the devil. and so, you know. i guess this is all there is. i'm just reinforcing my deeply held belief that you (me? her?) can't be happy

so that's that and also i wish she wasn't so lonely. i wish i could not talk to her

#i have no healthy relationships #i have no relationships that would make it easier to get up from bed #instead of making me wonder if i'm going to be able to perform simple tasks tomorrow #(thinking like shower brushing teeth getting dressed...)#i was supposed to book a meeting with the english teacher to maybe practice for the interview but #(and it maybe just a feeling. only now)#but i'm like worried in a freeform conversation with another human being i won't be able to talk only cry
