if you're an american who lives in a place where your reproductive rights may be on the line and use a period tracker, please delete it. i'm not the first person to say it, nor will i be the last, but i will repeat it for hours if needed. this is the time to delete it.

with the results of this election (specifically in congress) many have already acknowledged the effect it will have on access to abortion in this country. rightly so, but it is important to remember that this isn't a solitary issue. at the core of the abortion debate, is an inherent discussion on the self-autonomy of women's bodies. the republican's party disguises it's qualms with this autonomy as qualms on abortion, a procedure which they know draws up strong sentiments across political, socioeconomic, and racial lines. by creating legislature that bans abortion, these states are crafting a legal basis to go after any procedure regarding women's health. you may think this is point of view is extreme, but it's a process we've already seen unfold when alabama threatened the right to ivf earlier this year. banning abortion has never been the end goal, but simply a starting point.

do what you can to take care of your health. and if that means deleting anything that could comprise you, please do it. many of these apps have been instructed to share their data with the state and some already have. it is simply not worth the risk.

and please know that regardless how it may feel right now, there are doctors who stand with you. doctors who will work for you. if you are blessed with the ability to pick your healthcare provider, be intentional with it. find these doctors because they are the ones who will have your back more than any politicians ever will.

Hollow Mind really did that thing where it like, presented itself as a "Luz and Hunter vs Philip" episode, but added in romantic subtext by paralleling Luz and Hunter with past lovers AND did a whole thing where Hunter and Luz find out they've been hurt by Philip's lies...

And they made sure it was only Luz and Hunter in Philip's mindscape ... a mindscape that features paintings where you can see Evelyn and Caleb... the two most important people from Philip's past...

... And they made Luz wear a jacket with a big ol "E" on it and they made Hunter wear Caleb's symbol on his cloak [which is the bird - symbol of Caleb's home town, Gravesfield.]... in an episode where Luz and Hunter are 2vs1ing Philip.

... Interesting, I'm sure that was just an oopsie teehee accident. [this is sarcasm btw]

missing numbers was secretly a ploy to get really really into doing worldbuilding based on this extremely specific in-universe pseudo-meta horror based in the pokemon franchise. a lot of stuff we're cooking past gens 1+2 is original content based in the spirit of the classic trainerpastas based on those games... something something its all about the natural next step and the world of Pokemon is so fundamentally fucked. idkkkk smiles

I sketched this quite a while ago (actually really shortly after I made the first post about this au) but I didn't get around to finishing it because of technical issues

But yeah back to the actual comic! I wanted to show off what Sonic was up to when The End first possessed him. He seems fine right now, but that's just because he doesn't actually know what's going on oof. I'm sure everything will be fine tho

I think I just cracked an interesting interpretation for the godless trojan war of the movie.

The demythification in Troy somehow tries to recreate, at times, the lotr atmosphere. It gives you the feeling that this characters know the myths as some sort of heroic past they recognize distant to them. The aged up greeks aren't portrayed as if they could be the next generation after the Argonauts, since the movie makes you feel like their feats must already be being told as bedtime stories.

This is a " history became legend and legend became myth " time.

There are no visible gods because it's implied the peak of the age of heroes has already passed.

Agamemnon rejects what Achilles represents almost in the same way Denethor reacts about Aragorn. In the film, his empire comes to fill the gap that the fading of heroes left and Achilles, resurrecting that flame, is a political threat to him.

Like Jackson's Aragorn in Fellowship of the Ring, Achilles is a rejector of kingship and, unlke him, he remains in this position. However, Agamemnon is dangerously wary of him just as Denethor is about the posibility of a return of the King.

And in both cases, fear of loosing power makes them take stupid choices.

It's actually pretty fun and not a crime to read fanfiction of media you haven't read/watched yourself. Maybe an author you like from a fandom you're in started writing for this new thing now, and even if you don't know the characters their writing is great. It's like dropping in on the 5th season of a good tv show. Do you know who these people are? Not a clue. Does this fuck? Supremely.

And then maybe you check out their bookmarks and find a bunch more fics from that fandom and hey you sort of know these characters' names by now and the writing is still good, and you're just enjoying yourself! You're not participating in the discourse, you have no idea what's ooc or not and you don't have serious opinions on it. You're just vibing. Taking in the craft. For all you know these are all just conspicuously similarly named OCs. It's harmless as long as you refrain from tricking yourself you actually know what's going on in canon and start posting, that's the devil talking and you mustn't give in.

Fighting bigotry protects everyone- not just the marginalised.

I think it's incredibly important for people to remember this, bigotry comes from hatred and disgust, and at its worst can hurt so many whether they're the target of it or not.

This applies on so many different levels and has happened to extremes in the past and continues to happen now, but it's easy to distance yourself from atrocities when they're so far from your day to day life.

So, let's take it a little more local for the majority european-american demographic of Tumblr. Something that could happen to almost anyone, regardless of whether you're in a marginalised group or not.

Imagine your mother or your grandmother, is ill, too ill to take care of herself and is put into specialist care. She's extremely vulnerable, and needs to be protected from infections.

Behind the scenes, without you knowing, something has been happening.

The cleaner for your relative's room is a young trans man. He's great at his job, and takes the utmost care to ensure your relative is comfortable and safe.

His manager though, is transphobic, and doesn't want this cleaner in the workplace. She treats him badly, yes, but he sticks it out, and keeps working to keep your relative happy.

His manager takes it a step further.

His manager plants a bowl of moldy food in your relative's room, because he's meant to clean that room and he'd get in trouble for leaving that there. The mold could kill your relative just by being in the same room. His manager doesn't care, because his manager wants to make him lose his job.

His manager is caught, police are involved, he never receives any blame and helps the investigation.

Your relative, thankfully, survived. Her life was at risk though, directly because of the actions of a transphobe who didn't even think about the consequences, who didn't care if your relative died. It doesn't matter what you think of trans people, because this goes beyond just the trans cleaner. He wasn't directly hurt. It was your relative whose life was at risk.

His manager was investigated, and despite being proven to have done this, wasn't fired. His manager was given a warning, that if they did anything else, they would lose their job.

They tried to kill your relative, and were left only with a warning.

This sounds a little extreme, right? Who's plotting murder to get some random trans man out of a job?

Well, my partner's manager.

This all happened to him earlier this year.

A sick, elderly woman's life was endangered because my partner's manager was a transphobe.

Bigotry doesn't just hurt its targets. Anyone can be hurt by it.

We fight bigotry not just to protect ourselves, but to protect everyone we love.
