Period Days
Today there are clothes all over my bedroom floor and I have a hot water bottle on my stomach.
I see how holy it is to be fully still. To read poetry and eat my pre-prepared meals. To nurse myself while I once again give birth to myself. Who will I be this time, when I emerge again.
It doesn't matter how much healing I do, how much EFT Tapping I do - there is always hours or days of complete rest needed. Part of healing is to learn how to allow space for that deep rest without guilt in a fast world.

Emotional Freedom
I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical at first. It all seemed too easy. I wondered how something that has caused me so much stress and anxiety could be relieved just by tapping and repeating a phrase. My initial intensity was about a seven out of ten; this issue I was working on definitely did bother me, but I did not realize just how much at first. After the first round of the EFT sequence I did not feel much of a difference in the intensity than I felt before; however, after a few times of or acting the Emotional Freedom Technique I began to feel the tension and emotions travel throughout my body. I even felt like crying at one point, and my first instinct was to hold back my tears. I was reminded not to hold anything back, and I began crying uncontrollably. I kept repeating the tapping sequence and the phrase. One second I was crying and the next I just stopped. In an instant felt all this tension just leave my body, and after a few more rounds of tapping, I felt that this issue that was just causing me so much stress was almost completely gone. I felt free.
The Emotional Freedom Technique – also known as EFT or tapping – works similarly to acupuncture by tapping on your body’s meridian points to relieve tension related to negative emotions and memories that have become trapped inside your body. EFT tapping involves tapping on these meridian points while repeating a phrase. The first step of the emotional freedom technique is identifying the issue and its intensity. Then you repeat a phrase that acknowledges the source of your discomfort and reaffirms your acceptance of yourself. This phrase is repeated as you go through the EFT tapping sequence. Finally, you assess the intensity again and repeat this sequence until you feel free from the stress and negativity this issue has caused.

I don't think singlets realize how much they dissociate to survive.
EMDR, emotional freedom technique, compartmentalization, compassion fatigue, these are all privileges singlets can take advantage of without backlash.
But dissociating in times of extreme stress and trauma is unacceptable. "The only way out is through." "You have to push through it." "You can't just avoid all your problems." That's what you're doing all the time!!! A LOT of emotional regulation techniques revolve around distancing or separating yourself from your triggers to some degree. I can't use grounding techniques and emotional regulation techniques to get through intense stress because my brain learned to dissociate as a DAILY coping mechanism when I was fucking six.
I'm tired of dissociation recovery. Every time I try it, it gets to be too much, and then I feel like a failure. But like bestie I think I'm cursed by some ancient god somewhere, because who The Fuck has a week this bad without killing themselves?
Okay, so the answer is: most people get to use dissociative techniques without being moralized, and I don't, because I have a "disorder." Cool.

I have seen a lot of repetitive angel numbers in my life, each appearing in its own time and fulfilling a need for me to understand something: 1111, 111, 222, 333, 444, 4444, 555, 666, 777, 2222, 7777, 177, 117 and 77. However, there is one special and unique repetitive angel number that stands out the most for me and delivers significant and meaningful energy on my journey: the number 144. I feel like the angel number 144 awakens my intuition every time I see it, and it guides me in a way that feels divine. I feel excited every time I learn one of its messages, and each time I feel I am getting closer to its purpose on my journey and path. The messages and/or guidance for me so far associated with the angel number 144 are:
I am a lightworker: I understood this by reading an article about the prophecy of the 144,000 lightworkers. For me, it was a significant confirmation from my Angels that I am a lightworker. I was not sure at the time, I was still questioning myself, but when I started researching the angel number 144 and found the article above, it was a big yes from my Angels and from the Divine that I am a lightworker meant to bring something important through the fulfillment of a specific soul mission of my own.
To receive help from my Angels through someone who is able to communicate with them: During a difficult time, I was guided to get an Angel reading. When I saw that the price of the reading was $144, I felt in my bones that I needed to get this one. I knew it was a sign for me. The reading was helpful, and I was amazed by how the Angels communicated their messages and guidance in a way that made sense only to me. I listened to it last year (4 years after purchasing it) because I felt called to listen to it again, and I was even more in awe of how this reading was meant to be.
A sign from Lady Seraphina that made my connection with the Divine feminine even more dominant: Who is Lady Seraphina? In her book, Claire Stone describes her as 'the mother of all feminine archetypes.' The book mentioned is 'The Female Archangels: Reclaim Your Power with the Lost Teachings of the Divine Feminine.' According to her book, the number 144 is one of her calling cards! This was a message for me that divine feminine energy is highly significant on my path, and that Lady Seraphina is helping me with what I need for the development of divine feminine energy. I believe she's also helping me heal my feminine and masculine energies so I can intuitively understand how these two energies work in union.
An energetic purpose: In the same book, it is said that there are 144 nadis in the human body. Nadis are energetic channels through which energy (life force) flows in the body. What's interesting is that my healing journey started when I felt guided to learn about the chakras, our energy centers in the body. Later, I felt guided to learn and practice emotional freedom technique, an energy healing work for my emotional wounds. I have always felt drawn to learn how energy works. I feel there is something significant about my energy path that I have taken. I don't know yet what it is specifically, but I do feel intuitively that energy is a key component and has a higher purpose in the big picture. Also, seeing that the number 144 is correlated with the energetic system of the body makes me feel that I'm on the right track when it comes to my energy work and learning.
Feeling guided to have an oracle card deck: I have always felt drawn to have an oracle card deck. I felt like it would help me build more connection with my Angels and Spirit team, even though I wasn't sure how to read cards. The deck I felt drawn to pick has an astrological theme, and the accompanying book has 144 pages! It felt like another full yes and sign from my Angels and Guides! Using the deck and the book provided me with the messages I needed at the right time. I also discovered more about myself while trying to interpret the cards and reading the book!
Support, self-discovery and direction about some of my unique talents and gifts that I may posses for fulfilling my life purpose: I recently discover a minor aspect in astrology, the bi-quintile. It's an angle of . . . 144 degrees!! This minor aspect talks about the energy of our unique and special talents, skills, or gifts that we may possess! When I went to do some research on my 144 degrees aspects of my astral chart, I was speechless and felt excited like I have never been with the number 144!! Again, I feel like 144 is really guiding me to discover who I am and giving me huge clues and direction on the path meant to guide me to realize and actualize myself. I feel like 144 is guiding me also to discover my gifts and talents. Actually, my whole healing journey was also about discovering my gifts, talents and purpose! It's about discovering my true self and giving it to the world. 144 is guiding me to find my true self and soul purpose piece by piece. It is all coming together.

where i live its incredibly easy to stumble upon therapists (with proper degrees, even!!) who encourage and apply new age-y "treatments" to their patients. using myself as an example , i had to deal with electroshock quantum healing & something called emotional freedom techniques. i was wondering if you had any interesting information on those kinds of "treatments" ? thank u in advance !
According to Mayo Clinic, electroshock therapy does have benefits for certain mental conditions when used safely, and where older methods could be harmful, newer ones are much safer. That said, it's no more "quantum" than any other medical treatment, and I'd be a little concerned about anyone who attributed its benefits to ~quantum healing~
EFT is one of those things that I'm finding conflicting information on - some say there's evidence that it works, others say there's insufficient evidence. If there's one thing I can say for it, it probably won't hurt anybody.

Lead a Child Outside or to a Bookshelf Zazzle Design
Of course, when it comes to getting your kids to take mini-social media or digital detoxes, the old saying of leading a horse to water applies.
I created this design out of necessity. At the time - on January 19, 2025 - TikTok went on the process of restoring access to the app on the eve of President Donald Trump's second inauguration.
2 days before, the Supreme Court ruled that ByteDance, a media company, would either sell it to an investor outside China or cease downloads of the app stateside. They ordered it to do the latter, much to the distressing chagrin of 170 million American users.

When the app went dark between January 17 and January 19, 2025, some youths in mostly Oregon, Ohio, Minnesota, California, and Alabama who were facing then-imminent severe ennui even went as far as calling 911 to voice their dissent to emergency services. Some rational, sane netizens couldn't help but either laugh or rant in response.
"This is sadly a meltdown from addiction to that app, @XRP_Tiffany sniffed, "These kids need to touch grass."
@cesar_224455's comment is the most golden response to the articles on X. He quipped, "Great - now kids can pick up a book and read."
The articles of youths calling 911 SOLELY due to a social media platform going dark reminded me of the time when I called 911 at random - out of curiosity rather than me doing it just for kicks. I was 5 or 6 years old, and it took place in mid-90's New Jersey, when social media had yet to exist and NJ PBS was New Jersey Network (le sigh).
My DM reprimanded me for making that call, mostly because I was too naive - like many kindergartners, naturally - to understand that the act could've hindered first responders from responding to ACTUAL emergencies. My strict teacher at school also didn't take my wrongdoing lightly the next day. She sternly told me:
"NO 911."
My hot take on the articles was that I wished my straitlaced kindergarten teacher would knock on the parents' doors; call the children and teens who called emergency services JUST BECAUSE TikTok went dark; and tell them straight to their faces:
"NO 911."
Stemming out of the memories, the articles of youths calling 911 when TikTok went dark, and its comments from sane commenters, the Zazzle collection Lead a Child Outside or to a Bookshelf was born.
Aptly, the design involves a book on a patch of grass, symbolizing the many activities children can do offline, especially going outdoors and reading. The text is the TFB reword of the old saying: you can lead a child outside or to a bookshelf, BUT you can neither make your child touch grass nor read more books.
And I did include the words "touch grass," which according to Hootsuite is a phrase that indicates that "the person spends too much time online, and they physically need to get outside and… reconnect with the real world."
The design urges parents to take preliminary steps before getting their kids to unplug. The first step is to acknowledge AND validate their feelings.
"Have an open discussion about the benefits and drawbacks of these apps and ask them how these apps have made them feel and what emotions have surfaced when using TikTok, "Pam Allyn, a literacy advocate and author of Every Child a Super Reader, advised on Parents, "Does it bring them joy? Anxiety? Maybe it helps them combat loneliness."
One of the vital methods to clear any emotional resistances to social media/digital detoxes is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). It's the practice of tapping on various parts of the body to release any emotional energy blockages - especially the ones that the times spent on TikTok or digital devices in general have erected in children.

"This desire to stay informed and connected can become overwhelming, building into a media fixation or a Facebook (or TikTok) addiction, EFT expert Nick Ortner explained, "essentially, some form of escapism that indirectly allows you to procrastinate on a project at hand. The first thing to take a hit is your productivity."
"On top of that, there seems to be a surprising connection between a degree of insecurity and social media addiction. Sometimes, this deep need to know exactly what’s going on with everyone we know reflects a sense that everything that everyone else is doing is more important or more interesting that what we’re up to. If you think you’re spending too much time looking at whatever pops up every day, you’re probably addicted. It could be insightful to find out why."

"(The) interesting thing is likely to happen once you get past your Facebook addiction or whatever’s been such a distraction," Ortner concluded, "There’s a good chance you and your work (as well as your kids AND their schoolwork and lives in general) are going to become a lot more interesting, not just to you, but to everyone else you (and your kids) were previously tuning into!"
