made the mistake of looking at the cr tag, and on one hand I understand people getting frustrated with the Hells freeing Predathos, but on the other, as usual:
This is first and foremost a dnd game, and if my DM said “this being that trumps even the gods and has a direct hand in your creation and powers is here and you can try to fuse with it/control it”, well, I’m jumping right in baybeeee

“what’s on your mind?” nothing, i just can’t stop thinking about how integral music and the past are to the guardians of the galaxy movies, and it’ll not just that music is played throughout but it’s all OLD music because, yanno, the past and how all three movies start with just that: music and the past; the first movie opens with quill’s sad backstory and 1975’s ‘i’m not in love’ by 10cc, and the second movie opens with young happy meredith (who’s about to be very sad and sick) and 1972’s ‘brandy’ by looking glass and the third movie opens with rocket’s sad backstory and 1992’s ‘creep’ by radiohead, and the further we journey with them in the trilogy the more recently the music has been released until we’ve kinda reached our time, so it’s like the past has caught up with them, and that’s when everyone finally stops running from their past and they have to, get this, “face the music” and quill gives up his zune and gives it to rocket and goes back to earth to reconnect with the grandpa, the one part of his past that he’s ignored for like 40 years

Okay okay okay hold on expanded Shadow backstory.
What if there really isn’t a people that are the hylians’ counterpart, but Ganon decided to give specifically the Hero‘s shadow consciousness without approaching it at first, so Shadow existed on his own as a ghost of sorts without knowing why, but also unable to communicate with anybody or acting on his own? He just is for the first few years of Link‘s life as a literal shadow, on his own but always shown what life could be like, and he doesn‘t know that his very existence isn‘t just some mistake, but intended to be this way?
And then, as Shadow‘s loneliness and wish for somebody to just hear him grows, Ganon reveals himself as his grand saviour, gives him a physical form/the ability to become physical, thus a taste of the thing he’s craved ever since he was ‚born’ and only then demands that he kill the Hero as payment? The boy that unknowingly paraded the perfect life in front of Shadow‘s eyes?
Shadow didn‘t just happen to be vulnerable to Ganon‘s offer, he was manipulated specifically into being it. He knows that he was raised to be the Hero‘s enemy, but he really doesn‘t know to which extent that‘s true.

#art summary#i have to clear out my phone. im hoping that if i remove all the nier rein screenshots ill have space#im almost certain its all the rein screenshots cause. they’re bigger than most pics and i had a lot#otherwise im not cooked but god i hope its that easy#i dont make resolutions but i hope i draw more next year#the problem with art summaries is youll have months where you draw a lot#months where yiu draw 10 good things and then every other month is empty#but you drew. so you cant look at art summaries with emoty months and get sad#but like i didn’t draw as much this year lmao too much going on in my head#i was gonna say i rarely drew but i draw so much more than the average person#what i really mean is i didn’t finish anything#i was in my dA gallery the other day and I really used to draw a fully colored piece everyday on high school#absolutely mad. and we (me and my friends) all used to do it#i just had a thought: a majority of my friends draw <- thoughts for later#i had to answer the door so I forgot what i was talking about#i think that. what i was getting at was that behavior really screws up what’s a healthy relationship with art?#like when you’re a kid you have time and when you’re inexperienced and don’t know you’re more forgiving on your mistakes#whereas now if i draw one thing a week thats a job well done to me. im so busy i can’t take it out on myself and i dont#and of course the sms algorithm but I don’t play with the algorithm#but yeah everyone i grew up drawing with friends or ppl i follow stopped drawing or just posting a lot and I’ve been thinking about it a lot#an artist i really like used to post a whole bunch of art dumps everyday. just doodles on different series and i loved seeing them#but they stopoed posting. working on being that kind of artist for me. we got xx art at home situation#if any of that makes sense

I think an underrated part of the Dashcon story is that the second con was scheduled eleven months after the first one, so when the 2014 show failed, it was too late to cancel the 2015 show without losing 100% of the rental fee. Whereas the 2014 venue was a hotel, the 2015 show was set for the ginormous Indianapolis Convention Center, so that fee was huge--I've forgotten where the $120,000 figure came from, but I always figured it had to be legit.
When some of the Dashcon organizers quietly replaced Dashcon 2015 with Emoti-con Indy--on the same weekend, in the same building--a lot of people figured it was a deception. But I honestly believe they decided "we have to pay for the building either way, so let's try something," and they couldn't use the Dashcon name anymore because they'd already liquidated the LLC. In any case, Emoti-con ended up being canceled, so the Hail Mary play made no real difference. But I can understand why they made the attempt--at that point, it was the only hope to cover the costs of both the 2014 and 2015 shows.
I occasionally think to myself that if only they'd booked Indianapolis thirteen months after the first Dashcon, then the cancellation fees wouldn't be so bad, and it would have been more cost-effective to cancel the 2015 show right away. Then I realize that I'm basically designing a two-person door for Jack and Rose to share while the Titanic sinks all the same. One of the panels at Dashcon was titled "AU Where We Planned Ahead This Time," and I suppose that's an AU I'm always fiddling with...

John William Waterhouse
In the illustrious tapestry of art history, few figures evoke the same enigmatic allure as John William Waterhouse. Renowned for his ethereal depictions of mythological scenes and captivating female figures, Waterhouse remains a beacon of mystery and fascination in the annals of artistic expression. Yet, behind the veils of his mesmerizing canvases lies a realm of intrigue waiting to be unveiled.
Waterhouse was a master of narrative within the realms of classical mythology and literature, weaving tales of gods, nymphs, and heroines with an unparalleled finesse. His brush danced upon the canvas, breathing life into characters plucked from the depths of ancient lore. But what sets Waterhouse apart is not merely his technical skill, but rather the haunting depth of emotion he imbued within his subjects.
Step into any gallery adorned with Waterhouse's works, and you'll find yourself ensnared in a realm where time stands still. His paintings possess an almost hypnotic quality, drawing viewers into a world where reality blurs with fantasy. Whether it's the tragic beauty of "The Lady of Shalott" or the melancholic allure of "Hylas and the Nymphs," each piece is a portal to a realm where dreams and reality intertwine.
But what of the man behind the brush? Despite his prominence in the Victorian art scene, Waterhouse remains shrouded in mystery. He was notoriously private, leaving behind few clues about his personal life and inspirations. Some speculate that his fascination with mythology stemmed from a deep-seated longing for a world beyond the constraints of reality, while others believe it was merely a vehicle for exploring the complexities of human emotion.
Perhaps the true essence of Waterhouse's art lies not in the realm of myth, but in its reflection of the human condition. His heroines are not merely ethereal beings frozen in time; they are vessels through which we glimpse the depths of longing, desire, and sorrow. In a world where societal norms often dictate the expression of emotion, Waterhouse's canvases serve as a sanctuary where passion knows no bounds.
In the modern era, Waterhouse's legacy endures as a testament to the enduring power of art to transcend time and space. His works continue to captivate audiences around the globe, inspiring new generations of artists to explore the boundless realms of imagination. For in the brushstrokes of John William Waterhouse, we find not just art, but a mirror reflecting the infinite complexities of the human soul.
