Inventions & Innovations of Ancient Persia
Ancient Persian culture contributed many of the aspects of the modern world which people take for granted as having always existed. The designation “Persia” comes from the Greeks – primarily from the historian Herodotus – but the people of Persis (Pars, modern-day Fars) referred to themselves as Iranians, from Aryan, meaning “noble” or “free” and having nothing to do with race.
While that is understood, any reference to ancient Iranian culture – in the West at least – continues to be called “Persian” as that is the legacy left by the Greek writers.
The Persians established an empire which stretched from modern-day Turkey to India, up through Syria and down through Egypt and, further, invented and maintained amenities, policies, practices, institutions, and aspects of religion which are well-known – but not often properly attributed – in the present day. Among these are:
First Declaration of Human Rights
Irrigation and Refrigeration
Landscaped Gardens and the Word 'Paradise'
Birthday Celebrations, Animation, the Guitar, and Dessert
Monotheism
Elite Military Units and Uniforms
Windmills and Air Conditioning
Postal System and the Highway
The Teaching Hospital
Heavily Armored Cavalry
While these contributions may be understood as commonplace in the present day, they were entirely novel in their time. Although there were gardens in other cultures, and monotheism had been suggested by the Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten (r. 1353-1336 BCE)) centuries before, the Persians were the first to develop these concepts fully.
First Declaration of Human Rights
The Cyrus Cylinder is a clay canister-shaped artifact inscribed with cuneiform script issued by Cyrus II (the Great, r. c. 550-530 BCE) c. 539 BCE. It is an official document that tells of Cyrus the Great's conquest of the various regions which made up the Achaemenid Empire (c. 550-330 BCE) and how they had embraced his rule. He then speaks of how he elevated the lives of the people through the rights and liberties granted them. This document has long been (and continues to be) understood as royal propaganda establishing a monarch's grandeur but, since 1971 CE, it has been increasingly recognized as the first declaration of human rights in the world. The Achaemenid Empire granted its citizens freedom of religious thought and practice as well as many other liberties denied those of other cultures, including almost equal rights for women.

Happy Father's Day, Mark! How are you celebrating?
My family saw Inside Out 2, then did a Egyptian-themed escape room (we got out with 1:30 to go), went to an Italian restaurant for dinner, and are having dessert at home.

this is how i see hannigram ordinary life. 4chan version
- 2019, argentina
-will comes back from the boatyard divinely beautiful with wind swept hair and slightly red cheeks and tan marks and smelling of sweat and cologne and motor oil
- hannibal kisses him at the front door, he tastes like cake frosting, compliments him at least 4 times before will can take his shoes off
- their 6 dogs gently lick at will’s hands as greeting bc they are very well trained
- a guy is screaming down in their basement, nobody notices
- they talk for a bit abt their day. hannibal is butt naked under his egyptian 1 million threads fluffy cotton 70,000$ night sky blue robe .
- the screaming is getting annoying so will kisses hannibals cheek and tells him he’ll be back. comes back up 3 minutes later with a single speck of blood on his white collar. tells hannibal to have dinner ready when he gets out the shower. hannibal blushes and giggles.
- they eat dinner and dessert and play footsie under the table and moan while eating.
- they go up to their shared bedroom and have sex for 6 hours straight . then hannibal composes a symphony off the simple sound of will sighing his name and maybe draws after. will is snoring like crazy in bed
- they wake up at 11am . And repeat

What I think happens when Saiki and akechi eats cake together
Akechi: Did you know that the earliest cakes in history were more like bread? Ancient Egyptians were some of the first to bake cakes, which were sweetened with honey and had nuts or dried fruits mixed in. These cakes weren’t fluffy like today’s cakes, though! The first fluffy cakes didn’t emerge until bakers started using eggs as leavening agents in the 17th century. Oh, and the word “cake” itself comes from the Old Norse word kaka, which means “a baked thing.” Imagine if people just went around calling it “baked thing” instead of cake—how charmingly vague!AND SPEAKING OF VIKINGS…The Old Norse influence reminds me: Vikings loved honey. It wasn’t just used for food; they also brewed mead, which is a honey-based alcoholic drink. Mead was often used in ceremonies, like weddings, hence the term “honeymoon.” And weddings themselves had food traditions involving cakes for centuries! For example, in medieval England, wedding guests would pile small cakes on top of each other. The bride and groom would then try to kiss over the stack. If they succeeded without toppling it, it was said to bring good fortune. What an odd test of balance, right?BUT BACK TO CAKE! Modern cakes wouldn’t be the same without baking powder, invented by Alfred Bird in 1843. Without it, cakes wouldn’t rise evenly, and we’d probably still be stuck with dense bread-like versions of cakes. Fun fact: Angel food cake, which is all light and airy, uses no fat at all! It relies solely on whipped egg whites for its texture, which is why it’s tricky to make. Oh, and chiffon cake—did you know it was invented by a salesman? Harry Baker, in 1927. He kept the recipe secret for decades before selling it to General Mills.THAT REMINDS ME OF SECRETS! People love secrets, don’t they? Did you know that the Great Fire of London in 1666 supposedly started in a bakery on Pudding Lane? Imagine if it were cake instead of pudding that caught fire! Oh, and pudding! In Britain, “pudding” can refer to desserts in general, but originally, it was a dish made from meat and grains. This is why blood pudding exists! Nothing to do with cake, but it’s a fascinating transition for how words evolve. Speaking of evolution… EVOLUTIONARY BIRTHDAYS The tradition of birthday cakes started with the ancient Greeks. They would bake moon-shaped cakes to honor Artemis, the goddess of the moon, and light candles on them to represent the moon’s glow. Blowing out the candles and making a wish? That tradition came later. Germans are credited with popularizing the modern birthday cake during the 18th century with “Kinderfest,” a birthday celebration for children. OH, AND LIGHTING CANDLES! Did you know that candles were once made from animal fat? That would make cakes with candles a very smelly affair. But the invention of paraffin wax in the 19th century revolutionized candles and made them more practical. Wax, by the way, is fascinating—it can preserve things for centuries. Archaeologists have found wax-sealed jars from thousands of years ago, still perfectly intact. NOW BACK TO CAKE—AND IN SPACE! Did you know astronauts eat cake? Well, sort of. Space food is designed to be crumb-free, so they usually eat cake-like food in vacuum-sealed containers or in the form of moist snacks. Crumbs floating around in zero gravity are a big no-no because they can clog equipment or get into astronauts’ eyes.
Saiki: what are you talking about.

So I've had thoughts about Stargazer in the Monster AU... 👀 She had a 3-star outfit in the the store a few weeks ago, so based on that appearance along with her feline familiars in it, I think she could be a large cat shifter. Maybe a very large sand cat. They tend to be solitary desert creatures and, like most cats, very independent, which fits Stargazer very well to me if you played through her event. Because of how spread out their population is, sand cats normally have to travel long distances to even find a mate (their mating call actually sounds similar to a dog bark which is hilarious to me 😂), and I imagine once Shifter!Stargazer found our dear Researcher, she'd be quite reluctant to let them go. 😏 If you consider Egyptian mythology as well, cats were also quite revered back then and considered magical, so she could still have powers in the Monster AU too! Mostly, I'm just happy thinking about Shifter!Stargazer with her rough cat tongue and the spiny nubs on her cock to pleasure you while she focuses on putting a nice healthy litter of kittens into you... 😌 - 🌙 anon
I actually think Stargazer would make a good Sphinx Monster tbh. It sorta fits the sand cat description you’ve got going on, and it allows Stargazer to have that spiny nubbed cock that Researcher would definitely take an interest in 🤭
I can see the Researcher being given a riddle by Stargazer while exploring the sandy desserts, and despite Stargazer expecting the Researcher to fail, she surprises her and answers the riddle easily. (The Researcher is quite smart so, makes sense lol)
Stunned that this little human managed to crack her complex riddle, Sphinx! Stargazer is immediately intrigued and begins purring at the Researcher quite affectionately. I can see Nekomata! Angell growling a bit when she sees this other cat monster getting too close to the Researcher, so that’ll definitely be an interesting rivalry when Stargazer inevitably joins the group.
In exchange for solving her riddle? Stargazer allows the Researcher to have a favor. Her requested favor? To see her cock of course!
Sphinx! Stargazer is surprised, yet smug at the same time as she indulges in the Researcher’s request. And the Researcher is definitely not disappointed at what she saw underneath those robes~ 💕
