Barbell Complexes are a great way lose fat and build muscle at the same time. They also serve as cardio for extra benefit. (Plus detox because you’ll sweat buckets.) To perform just pick a few barbell exercises a la carte (compound movements preferred) and do them back to back (to back to back to back) until you finish what you came there to do. At TBP, we ABSOLUTELY love incorporating multiple training methods into one exercise, not only is it efficient but the challenge is clearly visible in these examples. Sara performing single leg standing with battle rope flies and squats with battle rope double waves to work balance, stability, upper and lower extremity strength, and cardio. Each move for 20 to 30 seconds. Machines for cardio? Rarely. This is how we train cardio. Why? Because we train like athletes and results are visible in our clients. Mr. BOSU makes another appearance again with this lung bursting, leg burning exercise. To be successful is in the eye of the beholder. Often we look first to our outside shells to define whether we are looking "healthy" or not. What is the persons perceived body shape, body fat? What does their hair look like...shiny or dull? Do they smile alot or look sad often? The health "look" may or may not define whether that person's really focusing on to achieve that look but 9/10 it has to do with what they are eating. Now if you choose to eat absorbantly less than usual for a long period of time.. you will almost definitely lose weight. Is it healthy to lose weight fast? What are the consequences to one's body? What are the consequences of missing nutrients for the long term? Can someone look healthy but really be losing bone mass and density? If you are unsure, before starting a weight loss journey, make sure you know the credentials of who you are consulting with, or who is writing what you are researching. At the end of the day, we all want to help each other be on a healthy journey to happiness and success.
