Another song I found that would fit Painland so good.
Imagine you just escaped from hell, then you go back to where you died. You find a miserable boy who's desperate for some light and warmth. He sees you because he's getting near to death. You sit by his side and try to push away the fear and read for him, laugh with him and make him feel easy while he dies. But still there's an aching grief in your chest. As he closes his eyes and sleeps his death you think of the dreams he had and the future he could reach.

BEEF on Netflix is soooo good! I can't be surprised though because A24 is really good at doing things differently (e.g Euphoria, Moonlight, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Midsommer, Hereditary, Pearl, etc)
I don't know what I loved the most - Touching in mental health, complicated family dynamics, people getting absurd revenge or phenomenal Asian representation? It was as all amazing!!
That being said, we need to address the fact that Danny was fucking awful. He was so selfish and shortsighted and no matter how much context we have on why he is the way he is, he is unforgivable and I'm glad that Paul finally cut him off. Choosing to involve himself with Isaac again and again just showed me how useless he was
On the other hand, despite some bad choices that Amy made - most of what she did wasn't that bad to me 😭😭 I support women's rights and wrongs unfortunately - also I hated George so that helped lmao
Basically the whole show was incredible, and whether I was angry at Naomi and Jordan, or learning to like Fumi - I was having a great time!
Watch our YouTube video and let us know what you think! Do you agree or disagree with out opinions? I wanna know ☺️

(To no one's surprise) I'm overly obsessed with the artistic direction of this MV. As one comment says: it's a wild snapshot of the mid 00's. Nonetheless, I've always been obsessed with pretty much everything conforming the video, from the music, the band and the aesthetics for that matter, so nothing new here.
But, again, I'll never stop exalting media where I feel the "edge factor" makes an impact and also because that same element takes me back (ironically) to my happy place.
Lately I've been reflecting a lot on why I'm so eager to feel this nostalgia at every given opportunity that I can only get with 2000's media and, after a long talk and 3 hours of tears with my beloved S.O. @catharticmethodology, we've concluded that it has to do with unresolved "stuff" from my childhood.
T.M.I. maybe, but what I'm trying to say is, I'll always be amazed by how random and deep the connection we make with music can be. We all hear and love the same stuff but the circumstances that lead us to get attached to it and the feelings we get in consequence will never be the exact same.
There you go, the unsolicited, random and well known reflection of the night and the reason why I feel such a deep connection with Porcupine Tree's music. You're welcome.

Unexpected RnB groove in this new single from Vast & Hazy! (Released in late May)
Sounds great, and I really thought that guitar solo at the end was gonna extend, cos the arrangement got a bit heavier... but nope, the song was over too soon! I hope when they play this live, they stretch out that last section and go wild, LOL. =D

Young Fathers – Brooklyn Steel – April 4, 2024
Young Fathers make an all-encompassing brand of progressive hip-hop (think: hip-hop, pop, soul, avant-garde, noise, political, punk, psych, rock, layered harmonies) that is uniquely theirs. The band’s three members met as kids at a youth club, began performing live in their teens and then, after dropping a pair of acclaimed mixtapes, came out swinging on their 2014 debut studio album, Dead, winning the coveted Mercury Prize.
“Many bands spend their entire careers being compared to a host of their peers and predecessors, operating more as an amalgamation of influences than creators in their own right,” says The Line of Best Fit. “Others, however, become just the opposite — the cultural touchstones against which other artists will always be measured. With Dead, Young Fathers have become on those bands — it’s like nothing else out there.”
The Edinburgh, Scotland, trio’s fourth LP, Heavy Heavy, arrived last winter, again earning raves. NME dubbed it “anthemic, boundary-breaking pop,” going on to add: “Succinct and underpinned by a catchy melodic structure, it continues Young Fathers’ peerless run of singular albums and further cements them as one of the more unique acts to exist today.”
Young Fathers launched a much-anticipated two-week North American tour on Wednesday at The Sinclair in Boston, and last night they were enthusiastically welcomed by a sold-out Brooklyn Steel.
