And like yea, the nature of what hes doing is different than the n//ft crypt0 scams, since the cost of the paywalled content is set and not fluid and the raffle thing was free to enter, and I know there have been threads about the website not being the worst on twitter (link) (edit: now here on tumblr too). But still man. Both of these could’ve been done on either an independent website or through stuff like youtube members or patreon. Or hell, even just on the merch store? Like buy a promo code that buys you access to the material?

Also like I get that this was probably a contract that would be rly hard if not impossible to terminate. STILL though, I wish we just got an even short thing like “hi sorry I wasn’t aware this is gonna be a one time thing we’re not doing it again”. I don’t mind extra content being paywalled personally, I know some people do, but I just really wish it wasn’t don’t with that technology. I also, ugh. Felt weird about mikke in the team since the winter. Idk man. I really try to  make it clear im not trying to excuse his decisions and I think being angry and/or disappointed at him is absolutely understandable. i tend to draw on-model canon because im a coward + just personal preferences. but the way i convert the canon designs into my artstyle is that i take the distinct features oda gives them and then combine it with personal headcanons to complete what should look like a unique human. Starting with Trafalgar Law, who is unfortunately a bland-ass conventionally pretty boy

someone commented a while ago the law hat drawing tutorial i made a while ago didn't make much sense and i realize its bc of the specific way i draw law's face: heart shaped (ba-dum-tss). That meaning, a narrow chin widening into a mild defined jaw, wide cheekbones, and up to his know-it-all brain dome.

given that, the pudgy guitar pick shape of his head i mentioned here should make a lot more sense.

i don't think this design point is unique to me, as most conventional pretty anime boy gets given jaws like this. a lot of law artists tend to veer into this head shape. just how life be sometimes. other points: flat, thick eyebrows is bc im a hairy gal and i need to feel better about myself.

Kidd is the bane of my existence, i feel like i can never draw his face consistently. yet at the same time he's so damn fun to draw everyone gotta try it.

my problem with kidd is that this mf does have eyelids. most kidd painters out there interpret this as him having deep set eyes (think Matt Smith or jeffrey star) . and yeh skill issue on me i should practice that. other notes, i try to make him younger than canon makes him look. he is my babygirl and he deserves to look cuddly. my band au kidd version has the honor of being allowed some chubs. he's just tries to look older and more menacing with edgy makeup. also i try to give him dimples when i can because, well i can.

Rosinante last bc i lost steam after kidd. the thing abt cora is that aside from not having eyebrows, everything is structured with the generic one piece man template. which means i gotta do everything myself doffy is there bc the way to figure out how to draw these two is to give them minor differences from each other, that being doffy gets slightly sharper features. in canon, these two are also rly wide boys (more of an oda style feat tbh) but i make them long. though bigger brained donquixote artists know that of these two brothers, doffy should be the wiry-er built. anyway that's it. in conclusion, i need to draw more girls actually i feel like im becoming misogynistic by osmosis from oda's style and now i draw girls all looking the same too.

What I rly want to know is why Gojo doesn't cover his eyes sometimes. [manga spoilers ahead ig, self harm mention]

After he awakened with RCT in the hidden inventory arc, he went out to reclaim Riko's body without them. Maybe they broke during his fight with Toji, idk.

But after he leaves the prison realm, Gojo never covers his eyes again.

My main thought was that it's out of hypervigilance. He won't let his guard down, even if it hurts. Maybe he needs specific glasses /fabric (I think Gojo has sensory issues).

Maybe he felt fine without them when he learned RCT, and he seemed pretty high then anyway so I don't think that time rly needs to have a solid explanation.

But after leaving the prison realm, he rly looked different. Maybe it's in part from Gege's art style change, or the awakening of so many sorcerers during the culling game. People say he was always that muscular, just was covered by clothes but I disagree. His facial structure is wider, we saw his skeletal collarbones at least during the flashback in the yasohachi bridge arc (which happened after the exchange event, so not that long ago). I guess what I'm saying is that Gojo changed since getting sealed, and I'm not sure in what ways. I think that seeing Kenjaku in Geto's body altered his mind too.

Maybe he's doing it as a form of self harm. Like when Sukuna switched back with Yuuji in Shibuya, the first thing he did was scrape his fingertips on the street and tear them apart. Which he knew would be painful from the detention center, he hardly reacted to losing a hand but lost it when the other was burning away from the fingertips, which are rly sensitive. Whether to cover one pain with another or try to punish the shortcomings out of themselves, I'm not sure, but would guess that it's both.

That seems like the most likely answer. And now. I'm sad. Again

I think now that it was to practice running RCT stronger than usual. He'd need to do that for the fight with Sukuna.

Before I thought it would have been better for Gojo to not wear himself down leading up to it. Especially when as far as I remember, he's surrounded by capable sorcerers whenever we see him. It isn't like Gojo needs to protect anyone so intensely that he can't wear anything over his eyes.

spending time worrying about what other ppl think when they look at you is sooo useless. you are creating imaginary and false ideas of urself thro others. you walk past a group of ppl and you immediately become voice insecurities to yourself. who even are those ppl? they are nothing compared to you. thinking that their “prettier” or “richer” or “smarter” is stupid asf bc all those are just society aspects that are false. there is no such thing as being prettier than blah blah blah. you are you just like she is she and he is he and they are they. we are all our own ppl so why waste time thinking ur less than in other ppl’s eyes? spend that time telling urself how valuable you are. realize that insecurities arent real. theres literally nothing wrong with you. you are perfect period. society may tell you that you arent but who tf are they? you wanna stick to a victim mindset or you wanna be accurate in knowing you are already perfect?

when i was little, i didnt know how to take care of my pretty type 4 hair bc my mom didnt have the same hair type as me. i would always look at the girls with straight hair or loose curls and wonder why i dont have that hair type. now im in love with my hair bc i learned to take care of it. the tight curls, the way i can put it in twists or cornrows or leave it in an afro. my hair is so versatile! theres no way i cant love it. idc if ppl call ur hair “difficult” or “too hard” or “ugly”… thats bc they will never know what its like having perfect hair like this. they could neva compare and thats a fact. it took me years to love my hair and i wish all little black babies grow up to know how perfect they hair is.

black barbie hair tips:

get a moisturizing shampoo and deep conditioner. i recommend companies like shea moisture, mielle organics, camille rose naturals, kinky-curly, and there are more just research and try which ever works for your hair

soak your hair in warm water and massage your scalp. use your shampoo and scrub with your finger tips not your finger nails (or else you can get cuts). shampoo 2-3 times.

put ur deep conditioner and when you detangle ur hair, use your fingers and detangle in small sections. do not use a small comb. use a wide tooth comb if you want. then, you can put ur hair in twists and put a cap on or steam it in the shower so that the deep conditioner moisturizes your hair.

rinse and use a moisturizing cream / leave in conditioner and put it on ur hair in sections and comb thro. do big or mini twists to lock in product.

when you have on an afro, do not pick your curls and pull it. this can cause breakage and split ends. when you have twists on, water your beautiful hair with water and some product in a spray bottle everyday / few times a week. think of your hair like a plant, you have to water and care for it.

when you take out your twist of any other protective styles, take your time to reduce breakage. and its better to detangle hair when it has conditioner in it. try using pre-shampoo when detangling dry hair.

rewatching s1 of broadchurch even tho im halfway through my first watch of s3 because i have an obsession with rewatching things and DAMN there are way more hints at who ended up being the killer than i originally thought, and a bunch of moments that are really ironic in hindsight

on first watch, his tone of voice and body language here just seem like confused and worried parent, but on second, there's definitely a hint of panic in his voice

ep2 - joe, tom and fred in the cafe

joe: this is a terrible, unspeakable thing thats happened. but nothing like it will ever happen again here

tom: you cant know that though can you? you cant be sure

then after this joe's facial expression looks SO guilty like he can't think how to respond

ep3 - hardy questioning tom with joe in the room

hardy: can you think of anyone who would want to hurt danny?

THEN THE CAMERA IMMEDIATELY CUTS TO JOE. ik near the end joe swears he never wanted to hurt him but this is still a rly clever piece of editing, i love when shows do this. also the fact that in every scene where he's questioning tom, joe's in the room and occasionally talks but he's never in the frame of the camera hardys using to record it. he was literally right under their noses the entire time and they never suspected because they were focused on other people too much

ep4 hardy goes to the millers" for dinner

this scene hits so much different on second viewing holy shit. at one point they're talking about marriage and work and how hardy's divorce was partially work-related and:

joe's reply itself here makes sense but there's a few seconds before he says it where his face is just blank and mildly panicked. he's genuinely worrying about being caught at this point.

I actually keep thinking of Naoto with gunshot wound. I’m also thinking what if it’s completely other Naoto from the ending entirely but he still has them. I’m wondering what Tatsuya would think if they met. If he saw. Don’t know how he would since bird seller Naoto is hidden behind two layers of clothes lol I am thinking it. I’m also thinking, was Daiki that OOC in Super Hero Taisen? It’s always so fucking funny how he went I’m blowing up Earth because of his Tsukasa Problem™️ so I never thought if that was unusual of him (re: bro, you are supposed to protect it). But. Like, listen, if pink/black leather bombshell is leaving you for a sexy pirate, what else can you do, really. Daiki has been putting up with it for years, and not that successfully so

Also want to ask, haven’t finished enough toku to know but are there any other aro and/or ace characters to headcanon except like Tarou out of all people or Goseigers being angels who are more or less above it even if they have stuff going on (coughs in Agri’s direction, the ultra super puper gay). Sighs, I love Tarou aro lol and his yaois with monkey 💙 are so fun too. Actually, now that I think about it, monkey isn’t much of a human too really, maybe they’re both above romance, not like they need it. I also saw edit of monkey’s actor on some BL yesterday and when a guy smacked him with a vibrator, I thought, “That’s what Momoi does to Saruhara every single day”

the Timeranger finale credits scene is so interesting to me because truly What Does It Mean. In my mind all of the appearances were non-canon but I kind of like the idea that Ryuga's wibbly-wobbly time-wimey history-rewritey bullshit kinda restored Naoto into the timeline but as a different man with a different life story than the one who died. Like maybe after he and Tatsuya parted ways he realised that he was never going to have the power of the born elite and instead of being radicalised by that he instead accepted it and decided to make the best of his own life. Instead of chasing medals he got a job cleaning up bird shit and feathers at the local pet shop, instead of dedicating his life to climbing the paramilitary ladder he proved himself a reliable hand and now manages the pet store by himself... I don't think Tatsuya would recognise him. Even if he did, I don't know if he'd be able to handle it. His relationship with Naoto and how it ended both times was clearly so traumatic to him, seeing a guileless stranger with the face of a man who died in his arms would be alien. It wouldn't be healthy. There's no happy ending for either of them together, but apart, maybe.

also yeah Daiki is the #1 fumbler in the universe it's pretty impressive. Like he didn't stand a chance against Marvy-chan to begin with but the real tragedy there is that Daiki thinks they're confirmed boyfriends and that he doesn't need to seduce Tsukasa because he's already done it but Tsukasa straight up doesn't know who he is any more. yknow how so many straight dudes basically stop even pretending to actually like their wives the second they get married. that's Daiki lowkey lol.

and tbh I think there are a LOT of aro/ace-adjacent readings in toku in that for the most part romance isn't rly a thing in a lot of them. Tarou and Alata are probably the two I would say most confidently are ace (and aro on Tarou's side... idc what easily-baited-by-INOUE-of-all-people fujoshis say, that shit with Sonoi was NOT romantic on his end at all. there are monster pairings that had more romantic tension from the hero's side) with the majority just having no romantic storylines (in their actual shows at least... I would have said Takaharu was aroace but UMM WHY DID HE SHOW UP MARRIED WITH CHILDREN?)

I have seen maybe half a season of TUA and didn’t read the comics so let me tell you seeing those panels where Vanya is yelling “We belong on that stage” (and in reference to herself and her taller blonde bass-playing brother) drawn in profile with literally Gerard’s haircut and outfit was a big shock to the system. I never even considered that he’d inserted elements of himself and his bandmates into TUA except for a bunch of weird edits people made comparing how much Aiden Gallagher looks like Frank but now I feel like I really need to read it.

im really looking forward to rereading all of the comics after this semester's over because i haven't done that since volume 3's run ended and i'll definitely make more coherent posts about it then but like. it's really really interesting to compare to all of gerard's other art because he is just...so distinctively him, even across different mediums and genres. tua and mcr and hesitant alien and kjna and his visual art etc etc etc like his artistic fingerprint is stamped so boldly and unapologetically all over them and that's something i really love about him. like his art, love it or hate it, is sooooo genuine always. even when he's purposely imitating other artists, he's very consciously doing it in his own voice, putting his own spin on it.

when i say tua and mcr are completely separate projects i mean it - i don't think one should only ever be discussed in relation to/in the context of the other - and, above all, tua is certainly not like...autobiographical, or a direct representation of real people/events. it's led by gerard but it has a different creative team than mcr does and that really shows as well - i definitely wanna talk ant this when i have more time but part of the reason im not sold on conweap as an album is because it's too umbrella academy - it's really evident that gerard was working on both of them at the same time, and letting one influence the other too directly. mcr's a band, not a Gerard Project, and umbrella academy is largely a duo (w gabriel bá), so they can't just be transplanted onto each other yk.

anyway I'm rambling but all this to say - tua isn't meant to be "about" mcr any more than bullets is "about" 9/11. but gerard's life was changed and shaped by his experiences in the music scene throughout his life, by dropping everything and living as a penniless artist, by becoming suddenly (in)famous, and that really shines through in tua. he says he drew inspiration from touring band life to write a dysfunctional family, and the dehumanising effects of fame and attention, and of being categorised and scrutinised on a private or public level, are huge themes - as is addiction, mental health, complicated grief.

like...i actually got into mcr through the tua comics lmaooo. i read volume 1 because of wonderful @blackmoldmp3 talking about it and immediately said oh. i need more from this dude's brain right now. and i was soooo not disappointed haha. i really am obsessed with quite a lot of the things gerard is also obsessed with as an artist. the particular themes and imagery and scenarios he's fixated on are really very consistent throughout everything he does - only the way they're discussed or portrayed does change over time. i don't rly subscribe to the idea of gleaning specifics abt artists' personal lives from their works because, beside all else, it just does them a huge disservice (that's my number one gripe with the popular talking pounts around hes alien and frank's solo work in particular; however "confessional" you wanna read art as, it's still art that was created with skill and intent.)

anyway that's way off topic dkfnfj. what i do love about this kind of thing is looking at distinct creations in the context of the rest of an artist's body of work. like...yeah, gerard's said there's a lot of mikey in klaus. has dressed similarly to vanya and the kraken and the seance at times etc etc. has compared himself to the rumor, because she's the one he relates to most. puts a lot of his familiar ideology surrounding music and performance into vanya. puts angry teenage vanya in a shitty punk band with her disillusioned teenage brother on bass, and puts a classical music prodigy in a punk band as an excellent guitarist, writing songs about killing the president etc etc. i could go on! because these things are just scattered everywhere through the comic, just like all of gerard thematic and aesthetic and ideologic fingerprints.

so what's reallyyy interesting to me is looking at umbrella academy as something gerard wrote on the road with mcr across multiple years. volume one was released while the tbp world tour was ongoing, and volume two only a few months after. the progression of parade -> tua -> conweap -> danger days is SOOOO fascinating to me, especially because one of the things that really works about danger days imo is the way it kind of shakes off some of the tua-style gritty cynicism and returns to mcr's defiant, extravagant theatricality. if you go through tua with a fine-tooth comb you'll definitely find the most direct comparisons to conweap, in terms of mcr. the way dd approaches the themes it has in common with tua is just.....so different, and so so mcr. and then you can see the at times self-referential development on those things in hesitant alien - AND THEN VOLUME 3 COMES AROUND AND LIKE. AUUUGGGGHHHHH the change and growth there is SO apparent. btw i don't mean "growth" "progression" etc in this post to mean "improving" - i just mean change and development in a neutral sense, bc it's so interesting to see it laid out there in an artist's body of work. but like. man it makes me crazeeee actually the way gerard picked tua back up....almost certainly around the same time mcr started discussing a potential reunion. and the way that foundations revisits and reconceptualises mcr's existing catalogue is paralleled in the way vol 3 of tua is, like...........like there's so much life lived there, between those things. gerard's even said he's changed his plan for the ending (if we ever see it 🥲) because he has more compassion for his own characters now and doesn't want to see them broken down for good. he says he's gotten better at listening to other people - for starters, he's a lot more conscious of his own subconscious racism/whiteness that came through at times in the original run and has expressed regret for that (namely, the entire main cast being white, with a couple of side characters being uncomfortably stereotyped).

but just like. augh. im not gonna lie man i have no idea what i've just typed im sorry it's probably so rambly bc I'm so dizzy rn and definitely am not gonna proofread it or whatever skdjfj but. I LOVE ART! I LOVE ARTISTS! I LOVE DIVING DEEP INTO AN ARTIST'S BODY OF WORK AND WATCHING THEM REINVENT THEMSELF AND/OR DOUBLE DOWN ON THEMSELF (SOMETIMES FOR BETTER, SOMETIMES FOR WORSE). obvs this fandom genuinely does have a big issue with invasive/un-self-aware parasocial behaviour but there's a difference between that and like. getting obsessed with a particular artist. that's so normal and in fact necessary to life imo. i think every artist literally has to have ppl like that i can't imagine any other way to live it's just a specific type of human connection at a distance baby. don't get me wrong tho i also wanna chew on his thigh. anyway.

my god. how did i get here what even was your question. tua. yes it's crazy. it's not for everyone for sure but it has enough of the shit that makes me crazzzzyyyyy that it got me into mcr which made me crazierrrr so. yes i can recommend. especially if ur like me and lovvvve stories that are a little bit fractured by design. that dance around big parts of the story, where there's as much significance in an absence or in a tiny background detail than there is in any dialogue or action scene. most of the criticism i see of tua is about the pacing but like. to my tastes it's a really great use of the comic medium yk? lmk if you want content warnings or something there are plenty skdjfj.

Lando goes to Daniel's ranch on a whim, dando is special. Lando goes to Carlos' sister's huge society wedding, carlando is special. Lando's family likes Lando which makes carlando special. Lando and Daniel share mutual friends outside of racing which makes dando special. like, it's the same dynamic just rotated around at different times. I enjoy both ships to a certain degree but I'm kind of mystified at ppl choosing to see them as super deep and meaningful and worth fighting over.

side note g o d do I fully embrace that ppl who do these ship competitions and larrying nonsense have ZERO interest in landoscar bc we love Lily and support Lando in his many probable conquests - and bc the Lando and Oscar dynamic isn't a big bromance for the cameras and has no fake gay for fangirl consumption.

like yes pls absolutely consider landoscar inferior to carlando if it means they stay away from inventing conspiracy theories and saying they "just have a bad feeling" about Lily and start attributing everything Lando has achieved to his teammate instead of himself.

I saw an edit of Spiderman No Way Home and Amazing Spiderman 2, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Now i saw the Amazing Spiderman 2 like years ago when my dad had put it on, it had aired on Star Movies or HBO i don't remember, idek if i was old enough to understand what was going on.

But i saw like, all the clips on yt in the lonely, exhilarating, happy, sad and just overall emotional years of the pandemic and basically just felt ultimate despair when I saw the last few scenes of the movie, Gwen dying, him watching the clips and that last scene where he comes back as spiderman, you get the jazz.

Now, the thing is, i think it was last year or the year before when Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness had been released, and people had been saying that Spiderman No Way Home was important to the plot. I pirated the movie and was up all noon watching the movie. MoM was going to be an evening show, btw.

I don't have that kind of commitment, just lemme tell you. If I'm gonna see a sequel to a movie that I haven't seen, I will not be up all noon watching the first movie, instead i will only be reading the plot on Wikipedia and/or looking up the lore on tumblr, reddit, Instagram edits, etc, etc.

But this was different. This was a movie that I'd wanted to see, but simply had not gotten the time to.

Anyways, to get to the point, I saw the edit mentioned and linked above and I got reminded of the time I'd made up a whole fanfic, thinking that it would be the ONLY correct plot for Amazing Spiderman 3 if it was ever gonna be made.

In my plot, Peter has a job, so it's like many, many years later and he's basically a workaholic, when it comes to his job and his alternate job as Spiderman. I don't wanna reveal much, in case I decide to write and post it, but it basically involves a new woman, which is basically Andrew!Peter's MJ.

Now ik, alright? Ik that people can only ship him with Gwen Stacy and all that, and i rly did try to come up with a fic where he saves Gwen or a plot where she miraculously comes back to life.

But finally, I'm a writer. The writer/s of the movie had a hard decision to make, and they made it. It was for the plot, it was for Peter's character development. It felt like i was disrespecting that somehow.

But even so, I needed to give Peter 3 a very angsty story with a happy ending.

So basically, what I'm trying to ask is, if I write a Peter 3 story which has a new story and a new woman, would people be interested to read it?

The fic is finished for a while now, so today I wanna share my thoughts and HCs behind this fic of gay! Ilmo 👀

Whatever my personal HC is regarding his sexuality (it switches constantly lol), I still HC Ilmo to have looked up to the lumberjacks and fishermen of his town and it's what inspired him to contribute to his community and try to save it 🥺 Together with a few other minor hints I tried to drop in there

More random ramblings, sorta spoilers and kind of me-lore dump about this whole fic becos I love talking about these things <3

Idk how accurate it would be in this part of the US + time, but my dad used to tell me stories when he was a young lad (in the 70-80s) nobody rly blinked an eye if he hung around with adults. Like on holiday, going on a boat trip with others that were non-family) But I liked that vibe/idea so I made the Koskela kids hang around the lumber mill etc. a lot when they were young and that those men were the father figures/role models after their own dad passed away.

I HC their parents being part of the Torchbearers but it was a secret for them until they got older and their mom finally came clean about what really happened to their dad. EDIT: In the final fic, it ends up to be Zeke who tells the Koskelas the secret. This also cements Ilmo and Jaakko's desire to follow in their parents' footsteps later in life.

The whole red thread of questions is inspired by the book Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe which is such a wonderful book ldkfdsj

The mention of the trailer park owner is how I imagine the reason for Ilmo to strive to become a better owner later in his life (as we can see with him 'taking care' of Saga's bills after she supposedly left Watery for a while. It was illegal but he's like fuck the government + class solidarity which I think is very fitting for him and Jaakko)

The conversation with Zeke was inspired by a scene in Moonlight where the MC asks his father figure about the F-slur.

In this story, Zeke is really one of the biggest inspirations for Ilmo to pursue the motor club thing, bike & cool jacket and all :')

Initially, Zeke was going to be gay but ICR what changed my mind 😅

Jaakko’s throwing hands is both a HC but also now more confirmed/supported by the dropped Cult lines Jaakko has where he expressed violent tendencies lmao

The Koskela kids sneaking into the mortuary is my attempt to show them learning to illegally sneak into things from an early age xD also to show their fuck the establishment vibes once more

Originally, the Prom fic was going to be the final chapter but then I finished writing the coming out scene with Jaakko and thought that'd be narratively more fitting to end the story on. So the prom fic became its own bonus thing :D

I wasn't gay in my early childhood/mid teenhood but homophobia and the gender binary were rampant in school. Which were partial inspirations for what Ilmo's dealing with in this story. I was a very gender non-confirming cis girl who looked androgynous and it fucking sucked in high school. I downright feared going to the public bathroom becos of catty girls talking shit behind my back, within my ear range of course)

Additionally, high school students knew if you were different. Whether you were super flamboyant or not, they'd notice something was 'off' about you. I noticed it happen to myself and to a friend of mine.

dts s1e3! AND e4

-while they first showed the baku maxiel crash in ep2, i'll talk abt it here bc its more focused on in this episode: -now that i've seen the 2010 turkish grand prix, this to me is so so reminiscent to mark & seb's crash. long term driver vs fresh faced golden boy, red bull ~trying~ to be neutral but clearly favoring the younger one, while in MY opinion in both cases it was max/seb more at fault -so daniel's choices make so much sense through this lense, seeing how history was repeating itself -i must say, 🙌 RESPECTFULLY 🙌 claire williams is a milf. hope she's doing wonderfully nowadays -the way sergey sirotkin is literally invisible i was even like who tf is that. sorry u got chewed up and spit out by the f1 machine buddy -in monaco qualifying its an interesting rewatch bc i actually know how things work, so the lil radio snippets actually make sense to me. interestin -this is the first episode where they have a truly well set up victory narrative. real life doesn't usually fit into this good cookie cutter narrative, but daniel's story in this episode really does that and it rly sets the bar for good dts episodes IN MY OPINION -i know that max in this episode gets pointed to a lot as see???? dts edits max to make him look meaner than he is!! and i just dont think thats the full picture. sure, they only show him being grumpy and rash and immature and they dont show any of his goofier side, but 2018 max WAS a big hothead. i honestly think it makes it narratively better to see how immature and short fused he was in season 1 to compare to how he is now!

-CYRIL COME HOME THE KIDS MISS YOU -oh my god love being reminded of the iconic daniel conversation with his MOM "have a good race love you" "yeah alright. gangster ✌️" -now knowing hondas history gives so much more insight into the nuance of the red bull-honda deal. with them struggling a team and then selling to brawn, to the mclaren honda deals that went horribly, i see it as so much more of a risk than i ever did first watch -which leads me to DANIEL'S CHOICE MAKING SENSE. sure, in hindsight we can see how it failed horribly but it made sense! from the bottom of my heart i dont believe that red bull wasnt gonna prioritize max, and i'd wanna get out of that too! sure it was risky, but if daniel didnt make the jump, would we be lamenting that he didnt instead? i think either choice would've likely gone downhill anyway :( -the exes trying to be amicable bc they still work together vibes are Hilarious -christian's whole 'cyril is an emotional guy' is fascinating because christian is SO emotional!!! the difference is his main emotion is anger, which men tend to convince themselves ~doesnt count~ -'he needs a driver AND an engine 😂😂😂' ate left no crumbs king behavior
