I would like to hear your thoughts on the DF diaboys routes you have played at this point.
yessir!! under the cut:
Shu: Shu's DF route is an exercise in meeting him where he is. We know Shu loves his family, but we have to understand it isn't easy for him to show it. We're right at the precipice of a big change in Shu and Reiji's relationship, but we have to accept that acting the way Reiji wants him to just isn't what's best for Shu. Yui wants confirmation of Shu's affection for her, but she has to learn that he shows his affection in other ways. It's kind of like this route is showcasing Shu's flaws and you're going, "That's okay! I like Shu because he's Shu!" so I think it's sweet. Take your time, Shu! ...If I had to complain about this route, I'd say that we spend so long away from the other characters that it gets lonely. I guess that's the point, though...I just don't really find all the "hiding from everyone else" scenes very exciting after a while. We could've spoken to Reiji more, and I honestly feel like Shu and Reiji have bigger breakthroughs in other routes, so this one feels like it's missing a big scene with the Beatrix bros.
Ayato: If you had asked me when I had just played HDB and MB, I would have told you, "Never in a MILLION YEARS will I feel anything other than hatred for Cordelia," but well!!! Surprise!!! This one will make you feel things other than hatred for Cordelia, whether you like it or not. I truly understand how the triplets felt when they said they loved and hated her. The situation is too complicated for me to get into it very much here, but in short I'll say that I really liked the direction they took with the plot of this route, and I came out of it feeling like Ayato and Yui took a well-earned step forward. Absolutely loved this one. So proud of both of them. Whenever I play through the DF Sakamaki prologue, it makes me feel cruel if I don't pick Ayato's route lmao
Laito: If you are an angst lover like me then you will eat this shit up. It's an extremely bad time for every character involved. It hurt so good. I had to spend 70% of this route convincing Laito not to kill himself. In this route, Laito discovers a fact about his father that changes his outlook on his entire life, like every single thing about his life, and the performance that Daisuke Hirakawa gives is like.. It's pure art idk what to tell you. Reading this route is not good enough, you need the audio. I was scared, I wanted to cry, and as a triplet lover there were high points too, but my heart ached for the entire route, even through the good ending! I like that even the obligatory fanservice scenes don't let you forget how terrible the situation is! Strongly strongly strongly recommend
Yuma: Alas, I can only give you a super biased review of this one. It's my favorite route because it has so many good Shu/Yuma scenes. This route is our last bit of "Shu avoids Yuma and keeps secrets from him for his own good!" drama before Yuma finally gets the whole truth about his childhood. We get the cute flashback scenes, Yuma gets some awful nightmares and has some panic attacks, there's a little of everything! :D Even Zweig is there and he and Yuma are super cool, and if you know anything about Lost Eden then you know how hilarious that is. Anyway, this all culminates in THE YUMA BEST FRIEND MONOLOGUE which is one of my favorite dialovers scenes, period, because it makes me so happy. It feels soooo good to watch the arson recovery trio...recover from the arson. 10/10. Shuuma shippers, this one is required reading.
Carla: I'm definitely not shaming you if this route is to your taste, but it certainly wasn't to mine :') Most diaboys talk down to you, but Carla talks down to you to such a degree that I started getting offended over stuff I've never been offended about before. Like, "What do you mean you don't like the taste of my blood?! My blood is fucking delicious!" lol. I am not into all the forced pregnancy stuff, I am not into the demon racism stuff, I am not into how often Yui is reminded that she has no family and no one will come save her. I personally found Carla to be unbearable until he collapsed and started the process of dying. Then he got all sensitive and lonely and I was like "ok I can deal with him now." The ending isn't very satisfying either (What do you mean sucking Yui's blood will stop him from dying for now? He's been sucking her blood this whole time and his symptoms got way worse.) and Carla's blood sucking noises made me want to take my headphones off and throw them away (sorry toshiyuki morikawa I respect you so much toshiyuki morikawa) soooooooooo.........I didn't like it. I grew to like Carla around CL so don't be sad if you like him, ok? He's my friend now, but this route is still just unpleasant to me hgfghsdf
Shin: I know I said I hated the forced pregnancy talk and the demon racism plans and I did hate them, believe me, but Shin's route was successful in getting me to like him. I love that they put him in jail and beat the shit out of him, that was such a good scene and I really feel like my tastes are finally being represented lmao. Because it's his introductory route, he's pretty rough around the edges (true for every diaboyâeveryone is a huge jerk in their introductory route) but there was still a lot to enjoy! The flashback scenes were fun (dare I say...he was...cute?!) and when put together with Carla's, the Tsukinamis have a super interesting story & dynamic together, and it fits the themes of dialovers really well. The differences with Carla's route, to me at least, are that Shin's scenes feel more like "playing with a diaboy" even when he gets mean, Shin has the added appeal of being teasable and of being a BIG FLUFFY DOG, and of course, Shin's blood sucking scenes didn't make me want to die. I'm clearly in the minority here, though, because Shin is at the bottom of every popularity poll I see lol...Anyway, it didn't make me LOSE MY SHIT like some other routes did, but I had fun playing this one!!

Hi giggles!!! I hope you're doing good!
Do you think we could get some Loid Forger stuff? đ„č I'm so excited about the movie coming out soon! I've had an awful day at work, so do you think you could write some supportive, platonic, x reader, fluff? Maaaaybe with some smol tiggles thrown in if you want! Go ham!
Love you buddy! âșïžđ©·
Rachi! :D *Hugs* I'm sorry you're having a rough day- I hope my little dabble can bring you some joy! I've gotcha covered :D
(Also a gentle reminder to everyone that I do need a headcanon! Rachi and I decided on one in the DMs what the headcanon was :3 If I don't have a headcanon for the event I won't be able to write it- sorry!)
âI am going to commit arson and burn down my workplace.â You announced as you walked into the Forgerâs apartment.
âBad day?â Loid, used to your declarations of crime, barely looked up from his coffee as he read through the last of the newspaper. âWant some cookies? I made them earlier.â
âYes please.â You slumped beside him on the couch, grabbing a handful with a groan. âToday was absolutely awful.â You went on to share the dayâs events, munching on your snack between. Loid had abandoned his newspaper as he turned his full attention to you, sipping his coffee and humming along as you ranted about your awful boss.
Eventually, when your snack was finished and your eyes were slightly misty from frustration, Loid reached out and squeezed your shoulder, eyes kind. âThey sound terrible. Letâs kill them.â
âPfft!â You sputtered on your drink, unable to fight down the laughs at how serious Loid sounded. âYeah! Weâll bury them in the backyard!â Your giggles grew, and Loid soon was chuckling alongside you, shaking his head. âEden wouldnât like it though- say, how is Anya and Yor?â
âTheyâre out having some mother daughter time with Bonde. When they get back weâre thinking of ordering in. Would you like to join us for dinner?â His voice always got so fond when he spoke of the girls. It made your heart swell.
âIâd love that. Thank you.â You leaned back in your chair, the happy buzz you were feeling starting to fade as you reflected on your day. âI donât know what to do, Loid. Should I stay or go? And if I were toâŠwhere would I go?â
âThatâs something you have to decide for yourself, (Y/N).â Loid patted you on the knee, squeezing it gently. âI canât tell you how to go about your work, but I can say I support you. Weâll all be here whenever you need us. Whether you need words of wisdom.â Something cheeky entered his grin as he suddenly squeezed a smidge higher up your knee, making you squeak and double over. âOr if you need a laugh.â
âAheahhhahahha! Lohooohohoid, stahahhap!â You giggled out, zapping away his hands from your knee. In retaliation, you jabbed his side, making him jump with a snort. âUgh, youâre terrible. ButâŠreally, thanks.â
âAnytime.â He said just as the front door opened, Yor and Anya entering with Bonde.
â(Y/N)!â Anya all but squealed seeing you, practically throwing herself into your arms. Yor was equally excited, her hug much more gentle as Anya rambled on about the dayâs adventures. Beside you, you could feel Loid smiling as he took in the sight.
You snuck a hand out and squeezed his, bringing him officially into the pile.
Send me a headcanon and I'll write a dabble for it!

The Magnus Archives Entities as Hozier Songs
you're just going to have to go with me on this. (the fears as hozier songs but my justification gets weaker as you go along.)
vague entity-related spoilers throughout but i've mentioned specific s5 spoiler warnings where relevant.
the corruption - in a week : it's a love song about decaying and decomposing with the insects.
the desolation - arsonist's lullabye : i also considered would that i for this one which i still think applies, (and would definitely use for an agnes montague playlist) but i couldn't ignore a song about arson for the desolation.
the hunt - it will come back : this one has the "animalistic fear" vibe to it and reminds me a lot of the dynamic between basira and daisy (spoilers for MAG 179 and 180 in the remainder of this paragraph) because of the way basira can track daisy and daisy can recognise basira as the person she cared about and who had her back even when she's been lost to the hunt.
the extinction - be : not technically one of the fourteen, i know, but this one started the entire post idea in my head so i had to include it. i thought about wasteland, baby! and no plan but there's something so final and dramatic about be that i think fits the extinction very well.
the buried - work song : it's the being "laid gently in the cold dark earth" and the description of "crawling home."
the flesh - angel of small death & the codeine scene : "i lay my heart down with the rest at her feet / fresh from the fields all fetor and fertile / it's bloody and raw but i swear it is sweet" (MAG 171 spoilers) something about these lines reminds me of the flesh garden
the stranger - someone new : "electing strange perfections in any stranger i choose" for the way the stranger takes pieces, faces and names from people. also the idea of falling in love with "someone new" every day not because they're literally strangers walking down the street but because the stranger can entirely replace people you know.
the web - movement : the only connection i have here is the line "when you move i move" because it reminds me of Strung Out
the spiral - in the woods somewhere : this was one of the others i was thinking about for the hunt but there's something about the disorientated theme of the song with the fever and the line "i pray my mind be good to me" that i think applies to the spiral
the end - wasteland, baby! : honestly i could write an entire separate post on this but i'm rambling as is so go read the lyrics <3
the dark - no plan : "there will be darkness again" / "sit in and watch the sunlight fade"
the lonely - to noise making (sing) : honestly just the line "at best you'll find a little remedy / at worst the world will sing along"
the vast - sunlight : another one i struggled with. i decided to use sunlight solely because of the lines "strap the wing to me/ death trap clad happily/ wax melted, i'd meet the sea." because of the falling and the mention of the sea
the eye - from eden : "innocence died screaming, honey ask me, i should know." kind of self explanatory because Knowing things.
the slaughter - take me to church : the only vague explanation i can offer is "in the madness and soil of that sad, earthly scene" reminds me of MAG 163.

Rating opening lines from books Iâve written:
I saw a trend on Instagram where people were rating the first lines of their old WIPs so I thought Iâd join in here on tumblr.
* âIt was set on the bedside table, but I was still snuggled into my blankets sleeping off the night before.â
- 2/10: lacks flavor. Whatâs happening here? Whatâs on the bedside table? Why are we sleeping off?
* âSomething about going back to school without an entirely loyal friend had taken a toll on me.â
- 9/10: Iâm going to be completely honest, I dig this. Mystery. Angst. Something is brewing but we donât know what. I would change parts of it but overall Iâd say itâs strong.
* âNo one said this place was the Garden of Eden. God mostly avoids this mistake.â
- 100/10. Would write again. Iâm actually really fucking proud of that.
* âFairytales are not all they seem. Sometimes they donât end.â
- 3/10: giving it some slack because I think I was like 11 when I wrote this. Itâs not good but Iâm not ashamed of it. Wouldnât actually use this now.
* âAbigail waited outside as the witch attempted to fix her friend. She didnât think it was going to work.â
- 4/10: again, I think I was like 11? Not horrid. Pretty mid.
* âI was ten years old when the palace guards came to collect me.â
- 0/10: basic. I never finished this story because it had no plot.
* âI hadnât meant to become friends with them. Any of them. But it happened and I donât think I could take it back now.â
- 7/10: this line isnât great but this story is near and dear to my heart so it gets a pass.
* âIt was stories like these that made Tate glad his friendship with Bo had ended.â
- 5/10: needs some spice. Is from a cute gay love story though so we give it extra points.
* âMaine was exceptionally boring.â
- 2/10: thatâs the whole opening line. Thatâs it. There is no more. Like. No?
* âHappiness is easily forgotten. Itâs messy. Itâs complicated. It gets ripped away if you donât hold on tight enough.â
- ?/10: you ok there Shakespeare? Need some water? A shot, maybe? 15 year old me was going through some shit.
* âthings arenât the way they used to be.â
- 1/10: this is just bad. Like really bad.
* âBrenden parked his car in the senior lot on Friday morning as if nothing had changed.â
- 6/10: was an old murder mystery I started. Never finished it but I had some interesting characters.
* âJames had never been a particularly good host when his friends were around.â
- 2/10: simply because Iâm so confused.
* âI was exceptionally ordinary in comparison to the company I kept.â
- 6/10: quirky MC found family tropes. Fun times.
* â[redacted] had finally decided that he was done with everyoneâs shit.â
- 6/10: sure is one hell of an opener. Started as a fanfic but I liked the plot so now the character doesnât have a name. Iâm never going to finish it.
* âDespite my incredibly firm opinions on the wizarding world, I had no idea how I felt about diagon alley.â
- 8/10: this is a fanfic that Iâll never finish and will never see the light of day but I actually kinda like that line.
* âChloe had been missing for three weeks.â
- 9/10: gets the job done. Was the beginning of a high fantasy mystery.
* âBoarding school was an unfortunate side effect of my father burning our house down.â
- 10/10: tf did I just start reading? Coming of age story? Crime novel? Justifiable arson? Who knows.
* âI was a snake.â
- 7/10: figuratively? Literally? Are you a reptile or are you an asshole?
* âShe wasnât sure when sheâd jumped into the hole in the ground.â
- 5/10: most recent wip. Just a first draft. Needs remodeling. This is from a prologue.

Chapter Summary: Tommy discovers that Arthur and Michael are in prison and confronts Campbell about it. When Daphne discovers the whole ordeal about Arthur's prison, she and Alfie have a discussion that doesn't end all that well.
Nine
Things were going smoothly for the Shelby family - the pubs in London were earning a god profit, the exportation of the alcohol had encountered no hindrance so far and then there was Daphne, that had finally give in to his advances. Tommy should have expected that something would go wrong, because things had always been like that for them. It had been this way when his mom died and his father ran away, it had been like that with the war, this time was no different.
âWe had a deal.â He entered the church to find the irishman on his usual spot, reading the newspaper. âHey! We had a fucking deal!â
âI would think that you would moderate your language in a place of worship.â His tone didnât conceal the disdain and Tommy has had enough of the attitude, so he rips the paper out of Campbellâs hands and throws it away, pointing a finger to the policemanâs face.
âWe had a fucking deal.â
âMr. Shelby, if you read the papers, you might have seen that the Home Secretary has got himself into a bit of a fizz about certain moral issues. Prostitution, protection, racketeering, drinking, cocaine and, of course, gambling. He has demanded results.â As the Irishman lectures, Tommy starts to pace around, breath uneven, trying his best to not let his anger take over. He had to think of a way to get them out of this situation.
âYou offered me protection. You promised me protection.â
âWell, no, you see it was Mr. Churchill that made you that promise. And the Home Secretary outranks him, soâŠâ Campbell observes as Tommy walks around before saying. âAnd I can hardly be blamed if your demented brother decided to go on some sort of blood orgy during dinner.â The little patience that the gangster had was gone and as he approaches the policeman he is already shouting at him.
âDon't fucking lie to me! Do not sit here in your fucking church and lie to me!â
âYou will need to contain your emotions or this meeting is at an end.â Tommy faces Campbell for a moment, his only wish is to put a bullet through his head, has been for a long time, but he tries his best to regain his composure, stepping back from the man and turning his back from him, resting his hands on the benches on the other side of the aisle. âGood. That's better. So, let us review the new situation. I have your brother in a prison cell charged with the murder of Billy Kitchen. The case against him is strong and I have no doubt that his destiny is to hang. And then there is Polly's son, Michael. He has already admitted to helping Arthur burn down the Marquis pub. He was a tough nut to crack, that boy, but crack he did. So I have your brother facing the noose, I have your cousin facing five years for arson. And I have your entire organization in disarray in Birmingham and in London.â
âWhat do you want?â Tommy asks, facing the policeman again.
âWhat do I want?!â Campbell looks at the gangster like he is not making sense at all. âI don't understand.â
âI have already agreed to do your fucking killing for you. Now, what is it you want from me?â Tommyâs voice is low and he punctuates every word. Campbell stands up from the bench to get closer to the gangster and the younger man just observes him, trying to conceal his anger.
âThere you go, you see. An agreement is not the same thing as an assurance, now, is it? You see, I found I wasn't sleeping so well. It wasn't just the smell and the noise in that room, no. It was the nagging doubt. The knowledge⊠The knowledge that Tommy Shelby is not afraid to die. Therefore, the threat to your own life might not be enough to make it certain that you will obey me on the given day. I needed also the power of life and death over your family. And that I now have. Your brother, your cousin and your sister. I have known her address in Primrose Hill since the day she moved i, she is safe only as long as I want her to be. I have been ahead of you every step of the way. And, as my father used to say, to make sure your dog obeys you, you have to show it the stick once in a while.â He holds his cane up, as to illustrate his words, before walking out of the church, the echoes of the walking stick filling the air as Tommy stands there, weighing down his options.

âTommy, Arthur is in solitary confinement. Michael is in the remand wing ofâŠâ Lizzie follows him when he enters the office, but he is only partially registering what she is saying to him, the sound of the telephone ringing on the background.
âI already know. Get out, shut the doors.â She does as he says and Tommy sits on his desk, hands resting on the wood, eyes observing the telephone before he picks it up.
âTommy? It's me. Tommy, can you hear me?â Itâs impossible to not recognize the voice and the gangster is not sure about the way it makes him feel.
âYes, Grace.â
âI think you called. I haven't slept.â He takes a deep breath before answering.
âGrace, this is not a good time.â
âI can call you back.â There is a hint of desperation on her voice, like she is clinging to something, a thread of hope perhaps. He should expect that, between her proposal before she left to America and the letters she kept sending him even when he didnât answer none of them, even after she married, but part of him still felt a little surprised by her tone.
âNo, it's fine. It's all right.â
âCan we meet?â The words had barely left his lips when she talks again and something occurs to Tommy - maybe this is the chance he has to balance things between him and Campbell and find out once and for all how he feels about her.
âYes. We'll meet.â
âWhen?â
âGrace, there are some things I have to do first.â

Tommy entered the Shelby house to find Polly sitting at the table in the room connected to the betting shop, smocking. He walked past her, entering the other room where John, Esme and Finn where waiting. Stooding near the table, hands behind his back, he prepared himself to survey the damage containment. âJohn?â
âThe coppers have lifted ten of our men in Camden Town, the rest of them are on the run.â
âTom, they've taken Michael.â It was Finn, clearly worried about his cousinâs situation.
âBusiness first.âWas all Tommy said to his brother to silence the boy.
âThey took Michael last night...â Polly got up from her seat, clearly exasperated by the fact that her son was now in jail. All she wanted was a way to get him out, business be damned.
âI said business first.â
âThey picked him upâŠâ Tommy didnât let her finish, raising his voice and looking at her as he said.
âPolly, business first!â She leaned into the doorframe, restless, her nephew ignored that, turning to look at his brother. âJohn?â
âThey took all our whisky, so no doubt they'll be supping that for Christmas. They've impounded all our vans, put their own locks on the warehouse. The Eden Club and all our pubs have been raided by the coppers and handed back to Sabini and Solomons.â He paused for a moment, then continued. âThe Black Country boys think it was Arthur that killed Billy because that's what the coppers told them. So there'll be no more free passes for our whisky boats.â
âI don't give a fuck about whisky. I don't give a fuck about Billy Kitchen. I want my son out of prison. Now.â Polly came forward talking directly at Thomas.
âThomas, I spoke to Johnny Dogs...â
âThis meeting should just be family.â The older woman interrupts Esme, not boring herself to look at the girl.
âI can help.â Johnâs wife protests but Polly directs her answer to Tommy again.
âIt's family only, she is not blood, Tommy!â
âLet her speak.â The gangster says, trying to maintain his voice low.
âOr is this a business? Have you forgottenâŠâ
âEnough!â He screams looking at his aunt. âEnough, Polly.â The man turns to his sister-in-law. âEsme?â
âI spoke to Johnny Dogs. The Lees are kin.â
âThe bloody Lees!â Polly exclaims, not believing that Tommy is really considering the offer.
âThey can give us men!â Esme argues.
âWe don't need more fucking men! It's men that have done the damage! It... It... is men fighting like cockerels that have put us here in the first place.â Tommy just ignores his aunt outburst, knowing that she is not thinking rationally because of Michaelâs situation.
âEsme, I'll take up their offer. We need men.â He takes a brief look at Polly, who stares at him, shaking her head before taking a step closer to him.
âIf Michael ever gets out of prison, I am taking him away from this family. For good.â She marches up to Finn, taking the young boy by the arm, all the while Tommy observes her, quiet. âThis life is bad. This life is all bad.â
âAunt Pol, what are you doing?â The youngest Shelby protests as she forces him out of the room with her.
âShut up and walk.â Thereâs just him, John and Esme on the betting shop now. They listen to the door opening and then closing. Tommy leans his hands into fists on the table, before sitting down on the chair in front of John.
âThomas? Should I go and speak to Queen Mary Lee at the Black Patch?â Esme takes a step closer to her husband, watching as Thomas rests his elbows on the table, hands intertwined together in front of his mouth.
âYes.â
âShe can give us soldiers for a few nights.â She says and he just murmurs.
âMm, good.â Fingers moving restlessly as he looks down onto the table, mind racing to think of solutions.
âJohn, go and bring up the car.â The other Shelby looks up at his wife, that just nods her head towards the door. He gets up from the chair, giving a last glance at his brother who is still silent, then he picks up his hat and leaves. Esme walks to the door to certifie herself that he really left before coming back to the table and inclining herself on the table to get closer to her brother-in-law. âImagine riding away, Thomas. Living the real life, you know? Your Gypsy half is the stronger. You just want to ride away.â Thomas looks up at her, just observing quietly as she talks. âFrance is the new place for us, they say. Lot of metal lying around still. Guns and trucks and spent shells and things. Then you go south. Saintes-Maries, where the Black Madonna is. My brothers go sometimes for the fair. It's like a home for us. They still let you get lost there.â He lowers his hands to the table and leans closer to her, speaking low and calmly.
âI've been to France, Esme. So has John. Now get your coat and go with your husband.â The gangster just observes her for a moment, before taking her face between the fingers of his left hand. âAnd if you ever talk about getting lost again, I will cut you from this family.â After he releases her, Esme looks around, as to make a point, before speaking.
âWhat family?â And then she leaves and Thomas canât help to think that she is not all wrong.

Daphne doesnât see Alfie before going to the bakery that morning, what she finds a little strange, because they usually go to work together, but she brushes it off as overthinking. Yet, things get weirder as she approaches the bakery and all the man go dead silent as she passes then. She ignores it too, like she ignores the little remnants of blood on the floor and the fact that Ollie seems more nervous than usual around her. That is until she has to get out of her office to ask something to Ollie and overhears a conversation between two of their employees - a conversation about the prison of one of the gypsy brothers.
She stops dead on her tracks, the two men see her and look at each other like theyâve just seem a ghost, until Ollie shoo them away, looking back at her with a very frightened expression. Itâs then that it all comes weighing down on her - Alfieâs extrange behavior for all these past months, the fact that he wanted her out of the house last night, his cold demeanor towards her since the wedding.
Ollie tries to intercept her when she starts walking again but there is no stopping her as she storms through the corridor to Alfieâs office. Her breath is uneven and she has a hard time recognizing what exactly is the feeling bubbling under her skin - is it anger? Or maybe itâs betrayal but she can figure it out why she would feel that way. When she opens the door, unceremoniously, Alfie immediately looks up from whatever it is he is working on. He nods at Ollie, who is standing right behind her, and the younger man leaves, closing the door.
âYou already know then?â There was no reason to pretend he didnât know why she was there, he had been preparing himself for that all morning. Alfie reclines himself back into his chair, letting his glasses fall to his chest as he looks at her. She doesnât sit on her usual chair, right in front of him, doesnât think she can, not in the state she is in and that is his first sign of what is about to come.
âThatâs what youâve been hiding from me all along?â If he didnât knew her so well, Alfie would think that she wasnât unsettled by the news. Standing there, in the middle of his office, speaking to him without raising her voice, her speech did not falter, like this was just a normal conversation about the business and not the questioning that he knew it was, Daphne showed few signs of the raging battle roaring inside of her. She had always been good at concealing her feelings even when she was a kid, having been raised to be a proper lady, not letting others know that underneath all that pretense lived a real woman with real feelings.
âI knew you would vouch against it if I told ya.â
âThen you just decided that it was better to do it behind my back?â It was already bad enough to think the exact same thing on his head, hearing her said it out loud only made things ten times worse and he kinda hated himself for that.
âLook, love, Iâve told ya we were going to use them to win the war and then get rid of the fucking gypsies, havenât I?â Rolling her eyes she asked him.
âSabini is not a problem anymore then, is he?â Alfie almost swore under his breath - she was too damn perceptive, he had been fooling her for far more time than he thought was possible. The Jew took a deep breath before stating.
âWeâve made an agreement.â She laughs, humourless, hands resting on her waist before she traps him in her gaze.
âAn agreement.â A pause. âLet me guess, he promised you that our bookies could go to Epsom this year in exchange of your help to get rid of the Blinders?â Daphne waits for him to say something, which he doesnât, and she caughts herself massaging her temples as she paces around the room. âAnd like all the other times, he will deceive you.â
âYou donât know that.â
âDonât I?â She snaps at his tone, walking to his desk, standing between the two chairs and propping her hands, closed into fists, on the wood.
âWe have a written deal.â He tries to hold his ground but stops as he hears her laugh again, mockingly.
âA written deal, of course, how havenât I thought of this before, huh?â Her hazel eyes search for his blue ones. âTell me, Alfie, this is what you call winning a war?â
âWhat do you know about winning wars, Daphne?â He regrets the words the moment they left his mouth, specially when she flinches away from him, taking a step back from the desk.
âI know plenty about war, Alfred, you know that better than anyone.â
âDaphâŠâ The Jew almost gets up from his seat but she stops him before he could finish the movement.
âDonât.â Turning her back to him, Daphne closes her eyes for a moment, inhaling deeply, trying to keep her cool. âWhat did you do?â
âWeâve taken all of the clubs back and Arthur is in prison.â She looked at him from over her shoulder.
âFor what?â
âThe murder of Billy Kitchen.â
âThat was your plan all along?â She hears him exhale loudly before his voice is heard.
âNot in detail, but yeah, it was the plan since the beginning, aye.âÂ
âAnd you didnât told me before⊠why?â
âBecause youâve turned soft, Daphne.â When she turned to face him his expression had changed, itâs like he was telling her something that is obvious. âI knew that from the moment that that fucking gypsy put foot on this bakery.â
âI donât get it.â
âI knew you wouldnât accept the deal with Sabinni because of Thomas.â He leans forward, resting his forearms on the desk, hands intertwined, venon in his voice.
âTommy has nothing to do with me thinking that this deal is bad for us.â She snaps back at him and this time he is the one who laughs.
âHe has everything to do with it, love, because you love him.â He pauses to gauge her reaction. Daphne shakes her head in denial.
âYou are out of your damn mind.â
âI am out of my mind?â He stands up, leaning onto his fists, his tone of voice higher than before. âAre you even hearing yourself and how much of a hypocrite you are being, huh? Howâs he any different than all the ones we betrayed before him, huh? I will tell you the difference, the difference is that youâve let yourself fall in love with him, thatâs the fucking difference, innit?â
âYou know me well enough to know that I would never let my feelings get in the way of the business.â
âYou donât deny it then? You do love him, donât you?â She doesnât answer him and that only seems to add fuel to the fire. âI wouldnât be surprised if you were already sneaking around with him, huh? Opening yourâŠâ
âSTOP!â Her scream seems to get him out of his trance and the hurt in her eyes is like a knife to his heart. âDonât say something that you will regret later. Donât make me hate you, Alfie, because I donât know if I can come back from that.â They just stare at each other for a long moment before she speaks again. âWhy do you keep me around, Alfie? Why do you keep me around if you truly believe that I will betray you at the first opportunity I have?â
âBecause I made a fucking promiseâŠâ His tone is lower and solemn but she doesnât let him finish.
âFuck you and your promises. Itâs not me you have to worry about, Alfred, is yourself.â His expression softens and Alfie almost takes a step back at the sheer force of her words. âYou push everyone around you away, always have something up your sleeve to try and gain something from everybody. You want to call me a hypocrite, fine, maybe I am, but so are you. Because you stand there, looking at me and talking about fucking promises when youâve been lying to me for months in a row and even after all these years that Iâve been nothing but loyal to you, you have the nerve to look me in the eye and tell me that youâre afraid I would betray you for somebody else.â
âDaphâŠâ He walks around the table to get closer to her but she steps back, not letting him talk or get closer to her.
âIf I really wanted to do that you really think I would choose Thomas? That I would have waited all these years listening from everyone how crazy I was to still be around you, hearing people calling me your mistress and God knows what else behind my back. If I really wanted to betray you, Alfie, I would have done it a hell lot sooner, because thatâs all that Sabini has been waiting.â
Silence fills the room and neither of them is really sure how many time has passed when she speaks again.
âIâm going home. Iâll be there tomorrow morning, donât wait for me.â He reaches for her as she turns to leave, catching her wrist on his hand, forcing her to face him.
âAre you leaving?â There is a certain level of desperation on his voice and there is no mistaking the worry in his blue eyes, she almost caves in.
âYes, Iâm leaving.â
âWhere are you going?â Daphne takes a deep breath, holding his gaze.
âTo a hotel. I need some time alone. I will still come to work, you donât have to worry about that.â
âItâs not about the fucking work Iâm worried about, innit?â There is silence again and she recognizes the conflict on his face. âAnd if I donât let you go?â
âIâm not asking for your permission.â She breaks away from his hold and walks to the door while Alfie waits for her to look back. She doesnât.

âWhere've you been?â Ada asks her aunt as she enters the room and sees her taking a bath.
âI went to the Spotted Dog in Digbeth for a glass or two of rum.â The younger woman observes her aunt and frowns, asking.
âWas it one glass or two?â
âIt was three.â Polly looks around. âWhere's the baby?â
âSleeping.â Ada reclines herself into the couch. âMore like five.â The older woman groans lightly, lifting her arms from the water to rest it on the rim of the tub ad look at her niece.
âIt was more like six.â She reaches for the cigarette, resting on the ashtray on the table near her. âDid you meet the maid?â
âI talked politics with her, she got bored and went to bed.â They both chuckle at Adaâs statement. âI phoned James. He talked to the lawyer anyway. He said he'd take Arthur's case for free, so we don't need Tommy.â The older woman exhales loudly, clearly disturbed by the topic. âPol? We'll get Michael free, as well, I promise.â
âThere's no need, they're letting him out in the morning.â Her expression changes to something somber and Ada frowns, worried. âDo you still talk to Daphne?â The question sounds strange to the young woman, but she answers anyway.
âYes.â
âThen tell her that the best thing she can do is stay away from your brother. She is a nice girl, has certainly suffered enough. There is no future for her besides a man like him.â
âPol, whyâŠâ
âIf the baby wants anything at night, ring the bell by the bed. She gets paid to work twenty four hours, that girl, she's getting lazy. Well, take advantage if you're nice.â Ada observes as her aunt leans into the tub and concludes that the best think she can do is leave her, so thatâs what she does.
#* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #* #
Daphne doesn't sleep that night. She tosses and turns on the bed, restless, thinking about her fight with Alfie and how the Shelbyâs might be dealing with all the trouble, until she decides that there is no reason to stay laying down when no sleep will come to her. So she gets up and sits on one of the armchairs by the fireplace, a glass of whiskey on her hands, eyes focused on the fire burning there.
She recalls the words exchanged between her and Alfie that morning and starts to question herself about his accusation. Had her judgment of the situation been tainted by her feelings towards Tommy? Had she really let herself be blinded by love, like Polly had waned her? She, who always had done her best to conceal her feelings from everybody and leave her life dealing with things as rationally as she could?
The burning of the alcohol down her throat brings her back to the present and she hears the banging on the door. Daphne tries to ignore it, thinking that it might be Alfie or one of his man. She doesnât have the strength or the patience to deal with neither now. Then she hears talking and all of a sudden the doors opens and Harriet comes in - no makeup, loose hair and wearing a simple plain gray dress, a worried expression on her face.
âWhat happened?â The courtesan closes the door behind her, approaching the other woman, taking a sit on the vacant armchair. Daphne turns her face to look through the windows, noticing that is already dawning, she havenât noticed how many time she had been there.
Harriet looks around before fixing her gaze on her friend again - the bed is disheveled but just one look at Daphne says enough for her to know that the woman hadn't had a minute of sleep in the past few hours. Her legs are pulled up on the chair, closer to her chest, hair messily tied in, an empty glass of whiskey in her hands.
âOllie called me in the middle of the afternoon saying that Alfie was beyond himself and that you had left.â There is still no response, the only reaction she gets from Daphne is that she rests her head on the back of the armchair, body relaxing into the armchair as her gaze falls onto the fire. âHe keeps saying that he fucked up and that he doesnât deserves your trust but he refused to tell me the meaning of it.â
âWe fought.â Harriet is almost giving up, preparing herself to leave, when Daphneâs voice resounds on the room.
âThat much I could tell.â Hazel eyes focus on her and the courtesan sighs. âWhat about?â
âThomas.â Daphne pauses, inhales deeply before moving to serve herself another glass of whiskey. âWell, I thought it was about the business, but you can say that the main reason was him.â Harriet says nothing, waiting, because she knows that pressing her right now is not the best of choices. âDid you knew?â
âKnew what?â
âAbout his plans to serve the Shelbyâs to Sabini on a silver plate.â They look at each other for a moment before Harriet answers.
âNo. I had my suspicions that he would do something about them soon but he never told me anything.â Daphne only hums in response, taking a sip of her drink. âWhat did he do?â The other woman sneers.
âHe made a deal with Sabini so our bookies could work Epsom this year. They have raided all the clubs taken by the Blinders and Tommyâs older brother is in jail, framed by the murder of one of their men.â
âOh myâŠâ
âThatâs what he had been hiding from me all these months.â Daphne downs the rest of the whiskey, observing as she turns the glass in her hand. âI told him that Sabini was going to betray him like he has done so many times before and he told me that I was being a hypocrite questioning his actions because we have done that before.â She takes a deep breath, looking at the fire again. âAnd that I was only doing that because I loved Tommy.â
âWhat the fuck! Alfie is out of his damn mind?!â Harriet gets up from her sit, takes the glass from Daphne's hands and pours whiskey on it, taking it in one gulp.
âHe is not.â The courtesan turns to face her friend, who is still sprawled out on the armchair.
âWhatâŠâ
âHe may have said some things that he shouldnât, but he is not out of his mind.â Daphneâs expression is devoid of emotion and she is calmer than she had been on the previous day. âThe thing is... The thing is he is right, Harriet. Alfie is right. The only difference between Thomas and all of the other people we betrayed is that I love him.â

A Fairly Nice and Accurate Timestamp Cheat Sheet for Good Omens (2019)
All timestamps should be correct, give or take a gnatâs whisker on the seconds, and titles of individual scenes may occasionally be obtuse references to the book or fandom shenanigans. Feel free to save the list as a file on your word processor and rename or otherwise alter specific scenes as you see fit.
For all your MV, gif, screenshot, and graphics needs, and all your fanfic, fanart, and meta analysis references.

Markus Ă North Headcanons since I can't find enough of these !! (SFW)
(North is my angry baby I love her so much)
Sure they have some shit to work on to make their bond stronger (especially if you chose pacifist route for Markus) but neither are the type to just drop something without trying.
Markus and North are both leadership oriented, so they both take lessons from each other to improve their ways of leading.
Markus learns to be more assertive in his position, as now the successful leader of the android revolution many try to undermine his authority + take advantage of his position.
North learns to soften up. (With time, of course) Although her normal personality is bold and brash, Markus helps her with dialogue, and that simply wasting rage is a useless way to waste energy and time, saving her from unnecessary trouble.
North is !very! subtle with affection.
Don't get me wrong, she likes being adored, but at the same time she was programmed to constantly give and give and give affection (sexually, working at the Eden Club for clients all the time). So she likes to take things slowly once the revolution relaxes. Doing things at her own pace gives her back control she needs, so it doesn't feel like she's falling back into an obligated position to please someone else.
Markus doesn't mind, he's a patient soul after all.
Whenever Markus gets too stressed out from his Robo-Jesus work, North becomes gentle and lightly whispers praise and encouragement as she gently caresses his neck and shoulders.
It makes him weak trust me 10/10 he melts into a puddle of goo.
If North gets too riled up from anger episodes Markus lightly hums or sings to her.
She immediately shuts up and pretty much forgets what made her so upset in the first place, since damn, his voice is always so.. s o o t h i n g.
The trust in this relationship is outstanding.
Eventually, North opens up more about the abuse, and how she felt used, how eventually it all snapped inside of her to make her go deviant.
Markus always listens to her.
And wipes her tears away when eventually it all becomes too much to unload all at once.
He'll kiss the crown of her forehead, then her lips softly, as he embraces her until she comes back down from her venting episode.
He's a cuddle monster in general so it doesn't bother him when she clings on like a lifeline in these moments, hell he loves being close to her.
North always returns the gesture too.
If he needs to vent she's THERE IN A HEARTBEAT.
She'll always remind him that his frustrations are valid, and the more she listens to him it becomes less "Let's cut his dick off!!" And eventually more "I understand, love, we'll find a way to get through this together. (But if you need me to cut his dick off I'm down baby ily.)"
Their dates would be so sentimental and so cute I cannot.
Their lives are so hectic that it would probably be on the more tame side.
They can't eat so restaurants aren't on the itinerary, but they'd love some at home movie nights, stargazing, going to book stores, exploring hiking trails, going to the beach, and visiting museums.
Speaking of art, of course North inspires some of Markus' works.
He'll often appeal to her likeness with red's, yellow's, and orange's. Perhaps even painting fire around her/ in her heart.
He sees her as a passionate being, like a flame to a forest.
North gets flustered since Markus is so fucking pure, and she's so blushy when thanking him every single time.
She isn't that artistic, but she does try and impress Markus in other ways/ Show appreciation.
She tries many hobbies (keyword, t r i e s), but nothing comes to her until she discovers photography as an option. She takes to it almost immediately.
Her galleries are gorgeous as fuck and of course the full course meal Markus is a part of them. Sometimes she can't exactly vocalize praise or compliments, so catching him in his natural beauty is her fullproof way of showing him that she's honored to be his.
Markus and North also spend a lot of time with their squad.
Markus, Simon, and Josh sometimes have guys night outs. What are they doing you might inquire? Who knows! Literally they'll either be in bible study or committing lowkey arson lmao it's either one or the other.
North is chill since she likes hanging out with her friends from the Eden Club.
North is best friends with the power couple, the Traci's, and they go shopping sometimes for good clothes. They'll also occasionally go visit pet shelters since these girls are soft for fuzzy adorable animals. Lmaodon'ttellMarkus.
They do eventually get pets together as a couple.
They'll probably get a Pit bull and a hedgehog.
The Pit Bull will be tan with blue eyes, named Rosie. The hedgehog is named Oakley.
North wanted Rosie since she's a powerful doggo but also gentle af.
Markus liked Oakley since he could have a lil buddy to rest in his hoodie pocket while he painted.
Carl, although with his condition still not in the best shape, becomes a sort of father figure to North that she didn't know she needed.
She became more involved with caregiving for him after observing Markus do it so easily.
She'll jokingly call him a "crazy old man" but it turns more into "Pops" whenever she greets him.
Carl and North team up to mess with Markus from time to time, and it's fucking HILARIOUS.
Markus is peeved but he's happy his lil family is getting along. ("Guys... s e r i o u s l y where are the paintbrushes??")
Carl also teaches North some valuable insight, stuff that even she can't argue with. She nods thoughtfully and lightly hugs him.
Markus is so proud.
Proud son tears.
Proud significant other tears.
("Markus..?! Babe what's wrong why are you crying??" "Son you alright..?")
They're the most powerful of power couples.
You mess with North you'll have an angry Markus on your hands. Which can be surprisingly more intimidating than North.
You mess with Markus and well...accept your fate I guess lol since North won't hesitate to whoop you to within an inch of your life if you threaten her mans.
Honestly couple goals.
They may have fights from time to time but they become less frequent the more they have discussions afterwards to reconcile their differing personalities and temperaments.
And if you're wondering about marriage yes that's gonna be a thing with these two.
Markus believes marriage is a beautiful union between those in love.
North is skeptical since when presented to her in legal terms she's like: "...So a contract basically?"
Though she does warm up to it since she'll be the Maid of Honor to the Traci's wedding. Seeing their love and bond in a special ceremony helps cease her doubts. (She's not crying you're crying) (But honestly everyone there was a fucking mess after the vows were read but that's another headcanon for another day)
They'll probably accidentally propose at the same time.
(Totally not Carl's secret plan)
Literally they'll both kneel down and be like ???
They both had rings.
It was fucking hilarious.
They both had planned on proposing at the first place they met, at Jericho.
It was a shock to both of them.
Somehow Simon, Josh, and Lucy knew it was going to happen so they were spying on the couple and they were WEAK AS SHIT!!
When they do get married though it's going to be a fairly large ceremony. (Since every fucking android and android supporter from across the nation wanted to be there for the headline breaking wedding of the century)
Markus' groomsmen are going to include Simon as his best man, Connor, Luther, Carl, and surprisingly Leo too.
North's bridesmaids are going to include Lucy as her Maid of Honor, the Traci's, Kara, and Chloe.
Josh is going to be ordained for this occasion (seeing as he's the only emotionally stable one during this high stakes event)
Alice is going to be the ring bearer fucking fight me on this.
North is also walked down the isle by Carl since he's basically become her dad at this point since she's known him for years.
Everyone is going to be emotional.
I mean everyone.
Markus almost shuts down a few times.
North is just perpetual tears and happiness.
Now they're officially joined together as Mr. Markus Manfred and Mrs. North Manfred.
You bet your entire ass they're getting kids.
It's gonna be blended.
Some android some human.
Probably get around 3-5 kids.
All adopted obviously.
Markus is soft huggy calm dad.
North is strong momma.
People who thought that their relationship wasn't going to work are now eating their hats.
Honestly they're so in love and devoted to each other that nothing can separate them now.
I love these dorks so much can't you tell? :')
Anyways yeah here's my contribution to this ship that I really like so :')
Probably not going to be a fanfiction blog but who knows I might pop more of these out whenever I have motivation to do so. This was kinda fun to do. Hope whoever reads this enjoys! !

The revolution was a success. They had won. They were somehow alive. Despite being free the anger hadn't faded, nor was it going away. Detroit was never a friend of North's.
And then comes Liz.

George William Crockett, Jr.
George William Crockett Jr. (August 10, 1909 â September 7, 1997) was an African-American attorney, jurist, and congressman from the U.S. state of Michigan. He also served as a national vice-president of the National Lawyers Guild and co-founded what is believed to be the first racially integrated law firm in the United States.
Early life
George Crockett was born in Jacksonville, Florida to George William Crockett, Sr. (1883â1975) and Minnie Amelia Jenkins (1884â1983), who had two other children: Alzeda Crockett and John Frazier Crockett. George Sr. pastored the Harmony Baptist Church in Jacksonville for more than 30 years and mastered the carpentry trade. George Sr. became a railroad carpenter for the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. His son, George Jr., would later build room additions and continue practicing carpentry for pleasure in adulthood. Minnie, a gentle woman, Sunday School teacher and poet, said in a November 23, 1969 Times-Union Journal (Jacksonville) article, "My philosophy is that children should be ahead of their parents, should climb a step higher and make a contribution to the family and to society." George Jr. took his mother's philosophy to heart.
Education
Crockett graduated from Stanton High School in Jacksonville. In 1931, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia, a prestigious, historically black university that awarded its first degrees in 1897. He was later given an Honorary LL.D. from Morehouse in 1972, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and served as a Trustee of the College for many years. During his Morehouse tenure, Crockett pledged Kappa Alpha Psi.
Crockett received a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1934 and returned to Jacksonville to practice law that year as one of very few African American attorneys in the state of Florida.
As a lawyer
Crockett participated in the founding convention of the nation's first racially integrated bar association, the National Lawyers Guild in 1937, and later served that organization as its national vice-president.
As the first African-American lawyer in the U.S. Department of Labor, 1939â43, Crockett worked as a senior attorney on employment cases brought under the National Labor Relations Act, a legislative program of President Franklin D. Rooseveltâs New Deal. Crockett also worked as a hearing officer in the Federal Fair Employment Practices Commission during 1943.
That same year the United Auto Workers retained Crockett to run the unionâs Fair Practices Committee, which tried to oppose so-called âhate strikesâ by white workers, who protested the migration North by Black workers.
In 1946, Crockett along with partners Ernest Goodman, Morton Eden, and Dean A. Robb, co-founded the corporation believed to be the first racially integrated law firm in the U.S., Goodman, Crockett, Eden, and Robb, in Detroit, Michigan. The firm, eventually called Goodman, Eden, Millender and Bedrosian, closed in 1998.
In 1948, Crockett became a member of the legal team that went to New York for the Foley Square trial to defend 11 Communist Party leaders accused of teaching the overthrow of the Federal government, a violation of the Smith Act. Among the 11 were Communist Party leaders: Gil Green, Eugene Dennis, Henry Winston, John Gates, Gus Hall, Robert G. Thompson and fellow Morehouse alumnus and first black New York City Councilman Benjamin J. Davis. In 1949, while defending the Smith Act prosecution, Crockett and four other defense attorneys were sentenced by Judge Harold Medina to Federal prison for contempt of court. Crockett served four months in an Ashland, Kentucky Federal prison in 1952. A portion of Crockett's jury summation at the trial was published in "Freedom is Everybody's Job!: The Crime of the Government Against the Negro People, Summation in the trial of the 11 Communist leaders."
Crockettâs criticism of McCarthyism and the House Un-American Activities Committee grew after that case, and in 1952 he represented future Detroit mayor Coleman Young and the Rev. Charles A. Hill before the Committee.
As large numbers of young civil rights volunteers traveled to the U.S. South in the spring of 1964, Crockett recruited lawyers from the National Lawyers Guild to follow them. He founded the National Lawyers Guildâs office in Jackson, Mississippi, and managed the Mississippi Project (a coalition of the NLG and other leading civil rights legal organizations) during the 1964 Freedom Summer.
The infamous murders of the civil rights workers James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner occurred in June of that year. The three had been arrested by local police while investigating the arson of a Black church near Philadelphia, Mississippi. Collaborating with local white supremacist vigilantes, the Neshoba County sheriff released the three men from jail late at night, and other civil rights workers reported their disappearance.
From the NLG office in Jackson, Crockett dispatched Guild lawyers to search for the missing men. The effort was in vain, and, years later, Crockett described his growing despair in the 1995 PBS documentary Mississippi America, narrated by Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee.
In the film, Crockett recounts his drive from Jackson to Meridian in a personal search for the missing men. He survived an effort of the sheriff to arrange his ambush by loudly offering driving directions, while white supremacists loitered nearby. Crockett returned safely to Jackson. He offered a full report to the Justice Department and the FBI, who refused to take the information. The murdered bodies of the 3 young men, one black, two white, were found days later.
As a judge
In 1965, Crockett became a candidate for the Detroit Common Council. Bob Millender guided his campaign. Crockett lost by a small margin "after he had been severely red-baited in the election," according to his former law partner Ernie Goodman (A Tribute to George W. Crockett, Jr, privately published, 1997.)
In 1966, Crockett was elected Judge of Recorder's Court, Wayne County, Michigan. The court handled criminal cases. From that bench, Judge Crockett incurred the wrath of the white corporate media and endured death threats for his role in a highly publicized police shooting, raid, and mass arrest.
On March 29, 1969, following an officer-involved shooting outside New Bethel Baptist Church in which a Detroit police officer died, police officers fired into and stormed the church. A secessionist organization, the Republic of New Afrika, had rented the church for a meeting. Witnesses in the majority African-American neighborhood later stated that the responding officers had all been white. More than one-hundred fifty persons, including juveniles, were arrested inside the church and taken to police headquarters. The church pastor called Judge Crockett before dawn.
Crockett opened temporary court at police headquarters. In refusing to find probable cause to hold the people from what he termed a âcollective punishmentâ mass arrest, Judge Crockett released 130 of the arrested persons. In the controversy that followed, Detroit saw the appearance of bumper stickers that read, âSock It to Crockettâ and "Impeach Judge Crockett". The police association organized a picket line at the courthouse. The black community and interracial civic organizations supported Crockett.
In 1974, Crockett was elected Chief Judge of the Detroit's Recorder's Court. He served there until retiring in 1978.
As a Congressman
In November 1980, as the candidate of the Democratic Party from Michigan's 13th congressional district, Crockett was elected in a special election to the 96th Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Charles C. Diggs, Jr. from the U.S. House of Representatives. Dennis W. Archer ran Crockett's successful election [1] campaign].
Crockett was simultaneously elected to a full term in the 97th Congress and was subsequently re-elected to the next four Congresses, serving from November 4, 1980, to January 3, 1991. Speaker of the House Thomas "Tip" O'Neill swore in 71-year-old Crockett in the presence of Crockett's wife Dr. Harriette Clark Crockett, son, and 96-year-old mother, Mrs. Minnie Crockett. She recited a poem she composed many years earlier titled, Our Children Three.
During his tenure, Crockett was a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, the Democratic Study Group, the Congressional Caucus on Women's Issues, and the Congressional Arts Caucus. He also served on the House Judiciary Committee, the Select Committee on Aging, and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. As a member of the Africa Subcommittee, Crocket authored the Mandela Freedom Resolution, HB.430, which called upon the South Africa government to release Nelson Mandela and his wife Winnie Mandela from imprisonment and banning. The resolution was passed by both houses of Congress in 1984. Later, Crockett continued to denounce apartheid in South Africa and was jailed with Detroit Mayor Coleman A. Young and others for demonstrating in Washington, DC against apartheid.
Crockett filed suit against the Reagan administration claiming violation of the War Powers Act in providing El Salvador with military aid (Crockett v. Reagan, 720 F.2d 1355 (C.A.D.C., 1983)).
Crockett chaired the Foreign Affairs' Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere Affairs from 1987 until his retirement.
On Wednesday, March 28, 1990 Crockett, who was affectionately called "Judge" by his House colleagues, announced on the House Floor: "Mr. Speaker, a few days ago the press carried the story on the death of the Honorable Harold Medina, who was the judge who presided over the famous communist trials in New York back in 1949 and 1950. In the course of that trial, Judge Medina sentenced the five defense lawyers to prison. I'm the only living survivor of those five defense lawyers.
"During the four months that I served in a federal prison, it never occurred to me that one day I would also serve in the United States Congress and be a member of the committee having oversight jurisdiction over all federal judges and all federal prisons.
"Today, Mr. Speaker, I rise to inform my colleagues that I have decided to retire from the House at the conclusion of the 101st Congress. After 68 years of working, championing unpopular causes, I'm hoping to enjoy a little time off.... I've been privileged to serve the people of Michigan's 13th District in this body, and it has been a challenge and an honor I will always cherish."
Representative John Conyers, also from Detroit, described Crockett's announcement by saying "When he finished, all the members stood and clapped." Source: Detroit Free Press, March 29, 1990, p. 15A.

George and Ethelene Crockett had three children: Elizabeth Crockett Hicks, George W. Crockett III, and Dr. Ethelene Crockett Jones. George III also served on the Recorders Court. George Jr. had nine grandchildren: Wayne, Charles, Kyra, Iyisa, Kimberly, Kelly, LeBeau and Enrique, and eight great-grandchildren. One nephew, Rear Admiral Benjamin Thurman Hacker (1935â2003) was a U.S. Navy officer, who became the first Naval Flight Officer to achieve Flag rank.
Following the death of Dr. Ethelene Crockett, George Crockett Jr. married Dr. Harriette Clark Chambliss, a pediatrician in Washington, D.C.
Crockett is buried in Laurel, Delaware in the New Zion United Methodist Church cemetery, with his parents and other generations of Crocketts and within walking distance from Crockett Street, named in honor of the Crockett family.

The idea behind this mix was twofold - to celebrate and explore technology within the field of DJing, and to try and capture the energy and essence of Organic Analogue without using any obvious connections in terms of artists or releases connected to the label. The mix was recorded digitally using Ableton Live, running three channels and utilising looping and filtering as well as traditional EQ and fader techniques. The mixing style was inspired in part by artists such as Surgeon and DJ Bone, who use the three-deck method to keep a continuous energy flow and look for new music in the crossover between multiple tracks playing simultaneously. The mix makes a point of celebrating a broad spectrum of what might be considered techno music, in terms of the age of the sounds, the specific styles and the artists behind them. At its heart it seeks to be animated and playful, but also sentimental and moving, in thrall to the science of production but still with warm blood pumping in its veins. Which is very much how I see Organic Analogue. 1. Pye Corner Audio - Theme Number Four 2. The Host - Minerva Dreamscape 3. Oksana Linde - Mariposas Acuaticas 4. Anthony Naples - 365 5.
