ok, so we all know that taylor’s song The Black Dog has been a biggg indicator that she might be mskingbean89, cause the lyrics are sooooo fitting for wolfstar, especially these lines:

soooo i have always thought that this line might be a stretch, because The Starting Line is an early 2000s punk/emo band that honestly have nothing to do with wolfstar/the marauders

i always thought that if she was TRYING to make a connection to wolfstar in this song she would have said something like “bowie” or “t-rex”, two common bands referenced in atyd

but i was just doing some “mskingbean89 is taylor swift” research because damn do i love a good mystery, when i came across an article by Vanity about the connections to The Starting Line and The Black Dog/Taylor Swift

we know that in The Black Dog (ima call it TBD now to save my thumbs from typing) references a certain The Starting Line (TSL) song, and the article claims that they think it might be a song called The Best of Me

the author pointed out some obvious stuff like Taylor was 13 when this song came out and maybe at that age she was indeed into emo music (sooo real girl), and the fact that the band lived relatively close to where Swift grew up and might have had some homesick appeal to her

this is backed up, in the Vanity article, by the fact that Matt Healy, when dating TS, sung the song The Best of Me twice at two different concerts. TBD makes it seem like the two people who broke up both enjoyed the song she references, which is just more evidence that The Best of Me is the song TS is referencing

OK, now back to how this ties back to mskingbean89

i decided i would listen to The Best of Me for fun just to see if it did have anything to do with atyd or the maruaders or wolfstar, and OH MY GOD

i did scream when i heard this because it’s 1) them listening to music in the dorm and 2) sooo “tell me a secret” coded. like mskingbean89 totally could have listened to this and come up with that line

jumping to conclusions

this is so insanely parallel to how sirius thought remus was the spy BECAUSE of going to the werewolves so often and how remus became convinced it was sirius afterwards. this also ties back to the first line up above which could be sirius trying to ask remus what he was up to there and remus being ellusive

i’m so glad that the truth

so this one is even more showing than the last. it’s when sirius breaks out of askaban to kill peter (the truth that caused remus and sirius to be separated) and they’re brought back together in the shrieking shack when they try to catch peter

this last bit just wraps the whole thing back up. like going back to the music and whispering “tell me a secret”. next time i’m in town is like sirius coming back, and they kiss in his bed and the story ends. the bit about girl is so about being queer back then and not being able to be yourself and just that need to hide again.

so ok. maybe i’m onto nothing or maybe this is something but i’ve been dissecting this for about an hour. if you actually read this whole thing, thanks and i love you.

this all just feels so interesting because this song fits perfectly and it was written longggg before atyd was, which might mean that i’m, and we all are, completely delusional, or that i’m a freaking genius.
