Drifting, cos’è e come imparare: l’importanza di un corso professionale

Drifting è una parola che non sentiamo spesso, o almeno: la conoscono bene gli appassionati di auto e i fan della saga cinematografica Fast & Furious. Questo termine inglese si può tradurre con “alla deriva”, ed è una manovra che si può imparare (una “sbandata controllata”), ma è molto importante iscriversi ai corsi professionali per faro in totale sicurezza. Prima di tutto, infatti, è fondamentale acquisire tecnica e sensibilità, poiché il drifting può diventare pericoloso se non si è totalmente esperti. Come diventarlo? Con i corsi drift: la scuola Drifting a Bologna, precisamente a Crespellano, dispone della Drift Arena, dove imparare con istruttori che praticano questa disciplina da più di 20 anni. Ovviamente, in modo sicuro.

Cos’è il drifting

Prima di approfondire i corsi nello specifico, vogliamo concentrarci su cos’è il drifting. Abbiamo visto che questo termine viene tradotto con “alla deriva”, e quindi cosa accade nello specifico? Semplice: la vettura perde il controllo, precisamente della parte posteriore, e viene quindi controllata mediante la parte anteriore. Le ruote posteriori perdono aderenza, e l’auto slitta, dunque, come previsto dal termine, va alla deriva. Ovviamente, bisogna saper tracciare la traiettoria da mantenere durante questa manovra, perché l’obiettivo è quello di evitare di finire fuori strada.

Spiegata con queste parole, può sembrare ovviamente una manovra pericolosa. Non vogliamo mentire: è una manovra che implica un alto autocontrollo e soprattutto una conoscenza approfondita della tecnica e dell’auto in sé. Per un pilota esperto, per esempio, fare drifting non è difficile, anzi. Come è nata questa tecnica? Come forma di competizione, ma non è la velocità il fattore di successo, bensì la precisione. Tra l’altro, è una delle manovre più utilizzate nel mondo del rally, dove c’è la necessità di mantenere la velocità di fronte a una curva stretta, ma senza perdere totalmente il controllo del veicolo.

Una manovra adrenalinica da professionisti

Questa manovra automobilistica, come abbiamo visto, è spettacolare e adrenalinica al contempo. Per eseguirla alla perfezione, però, è fondamentale studiare: per i veri professionisti, è “quasi” un gioco da ragazzi. Anche perché ci sono delle competizioni sportive vere e proprie per campioni di drifting. La disciplina sportiva è conosciuta in tutto il mondo, anche grazie alla saga Fast & Furious.

Come anticipato, fare un drifting nel modo corretto non è così semplice, oltre al fatto che esistono diverse tecniche, soprattutto durante la prima parte dell’esibizione, che è quella che innesca, di fatto, il drift. Una delle più semplici prevede l’uso del freno a mano, e una variante è chiamata con il nome di blocco del ponte. Quella professionale, invece, è il pendolo.

Una precisazione: non si può fare drifting in una strada trafficata o dove sono presenti ostacoli o pedoni. Lo ribadiamo: per quanto sia spettacolare, questa manovra va eseguita in sicurezza, in pista o comunque in luoghi molto ampi e deserti, dove, quindi, non si possono causare incidenti.

Dove imparare a fare drifting

Sono molte le scuole di drifting in Italia, come Scuola Drifting a Bologna, esattamente a Crespellano, dove vengono offerti periodicamente dei corsi di formazione per la guida di traverso. Ovviamente, è una zona sicura in cui imparare, non su una strada aperta al pubblico. C’è anche da dire che farlo alla presenza di istruttori che praticano la disciplina da più di 20 anni fa sentire più tranquilli e a proprio agio. "I don't recognize myself for even longer time." Blurr visibly trembled at these words, realizing where the dialogue was leading. Shockwave slowly approached, his long, deformed fingers, three times longer than one of Blurr's fingers, carefully reached out to his hand and wrapped his palms in his huge paws, kneeling down to be on the same level with him. "Blurr, I-"

Blurr turned his head away so as not to see one piercing, but such a swampy dim light of his terrifying eye, which had become more precious to him than his weekly knightly brigandage. "Shut up. It's too early, we haven't agreed on when exactly to do this"

The dull mass of metal, which was only a tangible casing, after some hope of catching at least a spark of doubt, only lowered its head heavily. The crackling of the fire continued to be heard around. The soot reached them, gifting them with at least some warm light among the shades of cold before dying. Realization, regret, reluctance were not reflected in the knight's optics. His armor, always proudly looking into the face of danger, now reflected only the cowardly lights of the fire from behind. Despite this, he did not remove his hand from the strong lock until the blades themselves parted. Shockwave disappeared. Disappeared as he had done for the past few months.

Blurr turned back to the burning wall. From afar were heard screams, squeals, grinding, clanking. The column of fire did not subside, as if it was fed by fuel from secret reserves. It had been burning like that for hours, as if to show the greatness of this building over others that would have left only a column of smoke long ago.

Shockwave's last school of dark magic was burning out, as was the will of its creator to live.

Your Marika and family art is some of my favorite stuff to see on my dash; I'm curious what your take on Maliketh is! I don't think I've seen any of your pieces feature him (:

(i have drawn Maliketh before, but it's pre-DLC so it's mostly just fluff fanart haha)

i had a pretty harsh reading on how Maliketh and Marika's relationship could be at first and tbh i still think so now. but when i think about how her betrayal to Maliketh in the end could be her trying to help Godwyn gain a second life as Lord of TWLiD (burying Godwyn right at the Erdtree root, still leaving him there even when he started spreading Deathroot around, guidance of grace waking Fia up, the Death Knights in LoS), trying to accept Death now that it's sth that could give her Godwyn back (and thus Maliketh was feeling guilty and teaming up with Radagon's GO hunters for... nothing), it opens up to more possibilities i guess? that it's not always tense and her betrayal in the end is not only out of pure grievance towards him specifically?

i could see that at one point the closed off and always on edge Marika, fresh off heartbreak and ascension, would slowly open up to Maliketh and start to rely on him more (while still aware of the sleeper agent the Two Fingers has in him or sth).

& i do think Messmer grew up with Godfrey & Maliketh in the picture, his armor plates and colour palette of black and gold mirror Maliketh after all. so they probably were a dysfunctionally normal family once.

i just need to find a way to put him in some art 😂
