woo-hoo, ive finished another month of dess-ember!! it really has been fun, if very time consuming, but ive made many pieces over this month ive loved and had a great time sharing them all with yalls 😄😄😄

but anyways, lets get to the final entry! its a bit of an unusual one :D

its some pixel art!! i have only done 2 other pixel things this month (i originally wanted to do more, but i am very slow at it 😔), so i felt like ending with it wasnt a bad way to go!

i took dess, noelle, berdly, kris, ralsei, and susie and made some different sprites of them, which were taking the way i draw them and making them into sprite version, and also me making omori style versions as well

i had a couple different versions of the art, layed out in different ways, but stinky tumblr only lets me have 10 images. unfortunate 😔.

but anyways, now weve got the main part, each individual character! you can skip past this if you dont want to hear my thoughts i had while doing the individual drawings, its kinda alot :/

i put them all in a format like this, hopefully it isnt confusing!

we can go in order of how i have them in the very first image, so we can start with kris :D

kris was a very fun one to do, they were actually the second one i made, and them turning out so well is what led me to making even more. i feel like im pretty much entirety happy with them, the omori style turned out cute, and the deltarune style isnt half bad either! i did forget to give them bangs though, like i normally give them in my art, but i was too much of a bum to go back and fix it after i finished :|. i feel like they translated very well ❤️

next would be ralsei, but im doing him last actually, because he has the most to talk about 😤😤

now weve got susie! her hair in her canon form was tricky to translate into the omori style, but i think it was worth it, cause it turned out well! and i think her canon dark world omori sprite might be my favorite i made, her outfit turned out great!! im not as fond of my versions of her design, they didnt translate that well into sprites, but it could be worse lol. her face was a bit difficult to do, since the omori head shape is meant for a human, but i think she turned out good regardless 💜

next is berdly, and im so sorry for him, he turned out roughhh. if i thought someone like susie, with her head, was hard to translate into the omori style, it was nothing compared to trying to turn berdly into it. with his beak and his head feathers and wings and his legs... yeah, it was not a fun time 😔. i tried though, and i dont think its entirely bad! the legs are probably the worst part, they are kinda hard to see, but the rest of it came together... kinda. dont get me started on turning my version of him into a sprite though, i dont wanna talk about it 😫. sorry berdly, if i ever sprite you again ill make it up to you 🩵

next is noelle! she was the first i did, and i feel like she turned out so cute 🥰🥰🥰. her dark world, my version, deltarune style sprite might be my second favorite one i made, i think it actually translated well to sprite art. her fur is a bit rough, gradiants are tough in pixel art, but i dont think its that bad overall. but yeah, im pretty happy with her 🤎

penultimatly, weve got dess! gotta have her, its dess-ember after all!! hers was hard to do, trying to take my own design and alter it to make it more canon (mostly, i just simplified some things, but i dont think it looks enough like a canon sprite :( ill keep trying with it), but i think she turned out cute as well! im not entirely happy with it though, as i said, i might go back to fix up the deltarune styled ones at some point 💚

lastly, weve got ralsei. ohhh ralsei, how cute you are, but how difficult you were 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫. to start off with, i had a goal in mind for the deltarune style sprites. normally, when you look at the canon ralsei sprites, you might notice they look a bit different. obviously theres the hat, and the fur color, but its more than that.

theres so many differences, and yet my goal was to make the sprites lose all those differences, and be more consistent with each other. i didnt think it would be too bad, but it was a rough time. i made his hatless version easily, and i was like, oh, ill just add a hat, change his color, itll be easy!! ...it was not easy 😶‍🌫️. i did that and he looked so wrong, it barely even looked like hat ralsei at all 😖.

i mean, that doesnt look right, right?? so i had to keep editing, and changing both versions, trying to make them better. i spent so much longer on him than anyone else, but at the end, i think it was worth it! i feel like he ended up adorable, but boy was it work 😂

the omori sprites of his were pretty easy though, once i had all the deltarune sprites down i just omori-fied them, took barely any time. i did make his outline purple though, like the headspace denizens, since hes a darkner 🩷

but thats it for that! this is where youd wanna skip if you didnt wanna read all that lol. now for me to yap about this month, and dess!

i feel like this was a pretty productive dess-ember!! i definitely ramped up my art from last year, trying to do as few small drawings as possible. was that a mistake? maybe lol. it was certainly difficult, and led to pretty much every drawing being late because most of them took like 8 hours or so, but i suppose a couple hours late doesnt affect much, and i still did all 31 entries!

there is the question though, of 'what about next year? will you do this again??' and to that i say... i dont actually know haha. i would want to, even if im busy i could always do a smaller one, but the real thing that could affect it is that, in 2025 we are getting more deltarune!!! im more excited than i could ever say, but if we see dess in canon, then i dont know if ill do another dess-ember. there would be my design vs canon design, which would be strange to reconcile with, and i imagine someone would probably do an official month for her of art prompts.

but thats all if she even appears. if she doesnt, well, expect me back next december to do this! if she does, ill have to think about it, so we will see then ^^

i find it really funny when people try to turn the tables and claim that KUSUO was abusive to KUSUKE 😭

i definitely think its unfair to put ALL the blame onto kusuke, i mean at their cores they are both just traumatized children after all !! kusuke holds way more fault than kusuo but in reality their parents are the ones who actually hold most of the blame. i mean even reading through this entire post, you cant come back and tell me their parents never couldve intervened. they were both unintentionally neglected by their parents and these are just the unfortunate results. BUT ANYWAY actually LOOKING at the saiki brothers fights from their perspective, just think about how it actually started and how it escalated

kusuke was obviously the one to START the rivalry, kusuo quite literally did nothing... kusuke was a hurting little child who felt inferior, so he decided that it was all kusuos fault, yk, for simply being born the way he is. and of course, they were both suffering, but kusuke literally just does not think about it from kusuo's perspective or consider that he was suffering too because, in HIS eyes, kusuo was inherently superior and therefore, who fucking cares what you say or do to him? he'll be fine! and physically, yeah, he IS fine! mentally? yeah no, hes not fine at all. kusuke doesnt realize how much he fucked with his brothers self-esteem from fucking childhood on. kusuo genuinely tried very hard to forget about kusuke, and the memory that stuck the most was kusuke calling him a monster. yea, kusuke was like.. ten at the time. but that doesnt mean it didnt stick with kusuo, and by the time they saw each other again, kusuke just expected kusuo to figure things would have changed since then ? without ever proving it, and proceeding to, on the contrary, prove time and time again through his actions that his way of thinking never changed, he still sees kusuo as a monster and has no respect for his autonomy.

but i mean all it really was at first was silly sibling fights like who can stand sitting in the hot springs the longest and who can eat the fastest.. these are completely normal sibling fights, like things me and my siblings would literally do when we were younger too..

but the next time chronologically that we see these two after this, it goes from those silly arguments to "im going to ruin your life against your wishes and take away everything you love against your will, try and stop me lolZ!"

I just read your post about your lack of identity and I feel so very similar. I've always been shy and quiet and weird even as a kid but nowadays (I'm 23) I have extreme social anxiety and one tip I always hear is to "just be yourself" and to not be ashamed if you say/do something embarassing etc etc. And the thing is...I dont know how to be myself. I spent the last 5 years basically only interacting with my immediate family because i lost all my friends due to my mental illness and my being unable to be a normal young person. And in this time of (relative) isolation all these things that humans naturally do in interactions or just everyday life have become very hard and artificial-feeling for me. Like everything i do i am aware of and i think it through, even the dumbest stuff like scratching my fucking nose. Now when I'm around other people I lose all sense of who I am and what I want to do and say. I'm not even scared to embarass myself anymore, I just turn into a completely empty shell around others because it feels like all of myself is gone then, so it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to "be myself". What would myself do now? Smile? Say something? Move around in my seat? I literally dont know. Who am I even? And then I HAVE TO put on some kind of facade and try to act normal because otherwise i would literally sit there, staring blankly into space with no expression, not saying a word. It is so fucking hard. Sorry for telling you this, I hope you have a nice day if you ever read this <3

i completely understand what you mean, im in the same boat and honestly you articulated this so well.....ive nicknamed it social or mental atrophy and it's incredibly painful and disorienting to deal with......what's worse is you'd think the simple solution is to just force yourself to be around people more but it's not that simple at all and it just sucks so fucking bad. especially the older you get. im 23 too and i just feel like i never got to develop a mind or personality of my own around others. to this day im just on autopilot with nothing to offer and my natural state is just silence and not talking or expressing anything. people are obviously not very drawn to that and it's just a really lonely way to be but i quite literally don't know how to be anything else. i go through that too - just questioning what am i supposed to do in this moment? what would "i" do or say? i just don't know and ive tried really hard to push myself into social situations for years and it still hasn't changed anything. yeah, i completely get what you mean - it's really hard and im sorry you have to deal with it as well. i truly hope you find people who appreciate you the way you deserve to be appreciated. i hope you're able to discover yourself bit by bit and that you feel comfortable enough to express that someday. i hope you have a nice day too and if you ever need a friend or anything feel free to shoot me a message ❤️

(im not asking because i want to argue or disagree with you, just that you've only listed 1 [very understandable thing] in your commission information)

i also saw something about proship stuff, which is stuff i dont follow or engage with (as in, idc abt purists, im a dont like dont read/interact with guy.) and so i dont know where the line is since it tends to fluctuate, and i don't want to commission you to not only draw something you'd be uncomfortable doing, but also something that could potentially have people coming after you.

(like, would a picture of dick or tim hugging jay be considered too much? i don't view it as romantic, but you never know where people's lines are.)

Basically I don't draw p*do, zoo and other problematic things. This also includes proship stuff. I don't mind drawing violence or anything like my work with dead jason and the joker (as long as it doesn't have any sexual connotations).

Wauh... im glad ur interested 🥺 me and my friend/partner are quite uncomfortable to share about them here because 1. We dont think anyone would care and 2. It kinda goes against my reputation as the local houtata fan and most importantly 3. It kinda goes against canon logic/worldbuild since my friend (who never read TG but they read PSYB) saw it in a dream lmao. But it makes sense to me... to us...

All i can tell u is that it takes place in the PSYB universe (basically ghoul and human co-exist and ghouls can eat human food now). She's an owner of a ramen shop where Tatara is working part time (he had trouble finding jobs due to his ghoul status, his temper and the fact he's an ex war criminal 💔). She's surprisingly chill and accepting to him even though he's a ghoul, so he works for her for like 1 - 2 years.

Turned out she's actually a ghoul but she already gave up most of her behaviors and instincts, like eating human meat for a long time. She's basically a normal, weak even, human now who can't even form her kagune. This really upsets Tatara our local racist guy. Stuffs like "why do you want to become them". So he considers her weak and sheltered and ignorant, but also kinda curious why she is doing that.

Okay that's their premise. Basically this takes place a few years after PSYB so Tatara is kinda mellowed out, but now he found another subject to hate/love. Previously, he hated/loved houji because he's a human who is even more horrible than ghouls. And now this woman is a ghoul and yet is weaker and more "coward" than human. They both challenged his mindset and changed his worldview, which we think is really interesting.

let me tell you a very funny (slightly embarrassing) story that happened last week!!

so i was helping the english department at my school clean out their big and very outdated literature study books bc im best friends with all of them duh

anyway . im casually oohing and aahing at every book i see and stealing whatever poetry book i can find that they dont want anymore

until i come across this small pocketsized book! its teal and the spine is cracked and from afar the big S on the cover and the teal colour makes it look like fucking. Shrek. so naturally i was like ???? A SHREK PLAY???

and so i picked it up bc a gal got curious!! and i look closer and it turns out to be Henry IV part 1! and bc i cant keep my big mouth shut i yelled "OH M GOD ISNT THIS THE TOM HIDDLESTON PLAY???" and the entire office went. Quiet.

And they all turned to look at me. mind you these are women who ARE in Tom's age range so they pretty much grew up with his work!!! and ofc they KNOW him its tom hiddleston. and one of them was like " the??? the tom hiddleston play??" and trying to save my dignity (not that im embarrassed but also kind of) i was like yeah ? didnt tom hiddleston play in this?? to try and keep myself casual like no what im not an obsessed fan hello im So Normal about him!! i could feel my face burst into fucking flames bc how do i explain to these women that im obsessed with his work while they look at me like they know I read fanfiction (like THEY DONT. THEY DO. I KNOW THEY DO. BC THEY ALWAYS MENTION IT.)

and so then. the entire fucking department spent the day picking up whatever stupid Shakespeare book they can find and saying really loudly IS THIS A TOM HIDDLESTON PLAY?? and i guess they ALL assume now the ONLY WAY I KNOW ANY ENGLISH LITERATURE is through Tom Hiddleston.

absolutely embarrassing. but i got to keep the book so WHATEVER.

but oh my god i think a part of my pride died that day. it was REALLY FUNNY but oh my god. no i DO know english literature i JUST HAPPEN TO KNOW THAT TOM HIDDLESTON PLAYED IN A FEW OF THEM!!! leave me ALONE.

i cannot believe i had to out myself like that. no actually i dont care but its the fact that these women KNOW the sort of stuff going on out there i am 90% sure some of them HAVE WRITTEN FANFICTION BEFORE and i had to sit there and act like i didnt just finish reading the most filthy panty melting smut of some tom hiddleston character. like hello. oh my god. it was funny but also horrifying.

rhaenicent #1 its literally canon. its subtext its textual its openly a part of the narrative. the complex web of sexuality, womanhood and patriarchy that seeps rhaenicent is so compelling. alicent as a lesbian and rhaenyra as a butch/lesbian/bisexual/trans/dragongender are genuinely compelling analyses of the characters. #1 foreva

im normal about throbb now<3 i think in canon the theon bisexual analysis is interesting but not super vital to his character. his sexuality and manhood certainly, but i like throbb more cos i like theon rather than on its own merits.

sansaery ❤️ i enjoy sansaery as a way to explore sansa's character and specifically her as a lesbian. both characters are fun and interesting but its high up cos it has a special place in my heart<3

OKAY. Warrior cats au Anyone h ave name suggestions bc since it alters from WCs world building a bit i dont know if i should use the name. I am breaking so many wc rules here and idc

Okay so here, each clan is a lot bigger than the ones in the books. Like a whole city population with a lot of forest ground.

Mr oz (dont have a name for him) Is a warrior whos been around for a good while. He mentored both hannah, a somali cat (NAME REC PLEASE) and beau, Nightpaw but maybe his warrior name becomes Nightcatcher, maybe also a black Cornish Rex? hed also have blue eyes and hannah would have yellow.

Lunia was a sort of leader-medicine cat thing, new role i came up with , being really connected with starclan or stuff. dreamclan.? Not the exact leader, Abraham is, but is kinda moreso the spiritual leader and despite not fighting TOO MUCH everyone holds her in high respect across all clans

Migo wasnt an apprentince really but just a helper for her, maybe she can be a little mouse or something that lunia conjured/tamed with magic (yes magic will exist here because Im not restricting myself to wc rules IM BEING SILLY AND HAVING FUN) But because of her duties she didnt have time to hang out like they used to before lunia got into her role. Migo wants to remove her magic so she can just stay with her forever as a normal medicine cat and not have to go out and risk her single life in the most dangerous battles. Because she has magic shes really strong but also it makes her a huge target for cats against the clans, if she dies then it could risk the entire multiple clans relationship since they no longer have a common leader

Migos attempt at stealing her magic kindaa work out bc she has really fucked up magic powers now that require sacrifices to work or something❤️, perhaps all the power is in a special item... like maybe a bone/tooth from lunia on a collar , but in their final battle Lunia seals her SOMEWHERE and she disappears in the process. Lunia wanted to forgive Migo and go back so she never told anyone that the Nightmare king and her were the same person, she only said that something captured the little mouse.

So the Nightmare King is a sort of rodent/canine/monster thing trapped somewhere in the dark forest or something (idk i never read the arcs that focus on the dark forest and i dont plan to!this is my au i get to make my own logic no one correct me okay !!)

The loss of Lunia hit mr ozs team hard (hannah and beau were already warriors by this point) and they go try to destory a remnant of the nightmare kings weapon or something (since lunias tooth would be the hourglass equivalent. mr oz has it hidden somewhere because he doesnt trust the clans leader with it) Oh also mr oz turned down an offer to be deputy of all the clans .

Um more world building. because im coming up with stuff as i write this post. Theres like a main head leader for all the clans(branches) which is Royce, its just the deputy-leader system but it applies to all clans instead of just one.i guess

ALSO !! Astrid is Royces apprentince, its rare for the main leader to be a mentor so it means royce sees a lot of potential in her. i think she built her own little wheel thing to get around easier because she still wants to be a warrior cat / be able to participate in battles. Royce sees her as 'the next Lunia' and astrid isnt totalllyyyy on board with that but still she doesnt want to miss the chance to prove herself

OH ALSO ! Hannah lore.. I think she was a barn cat before Nightpawfound her one day when he was sneaking out of camp. They both hit it off and become really good friends and nightpaw wants to invite her to the clan and hannah agrees because she wants to be with him and it seems cool to her. Nightpaw confesses to oz about meeting her and while hes mad, he agrees to mentor her because no one else wants to mentor a random barn cat

Okay so then after nightcatcher and the others go to the gnorfs to try and destroy the nightmare kings weapon (the gnorfs can be beavers....) Nightcatcher gets a bit corrupted and over time it corrupts him fullly, it. makes him bitter and hateful. He tries to stay through it but a bit after hannah getes pregnant he leaves her and then the entire clans in general, he becomes a rouge and he wanders into the dark forest because he feels the nightmare king calling him from there. mr oz is really upset with it and checks in constantly with hannah to make sure shes doing alright and to be able to comfort each other.. Mr oz never had a mate so he saw them both as his own children kind of

one day hannah just cant take it anymore and she goes out by herself to try and find nightcatcher and they eventually come across eachother but she sees how he got corrupted and he fights her to go back, but doesnt touch her physically because he doesnt want to hurt her he just wants her to get away from him and the path he chose

hannah runs off but before going back to the clan area she gets found by some humans and they take her in and care for her. Shes kinda trapped there now but she tries to make the most of it there

She gives birth to zoey and theyre really close but then hannah dies due to illness around the time zoey is old enough to be an apprentince. Hannah never told her about the clans and all that but occasionally some warrior cats came to the farm theyre on to nab some herbs and stuff so theyve encountered them.

then one day the night hunter comes to where her and her owners are and maybe he attacks them or something, taking quite a bit of the livestock there. MAYBE Hm.. Okay so then zoey tries fighting him off and it doesnt go to well for the night hunter because he realizes thats his child and he doesnt want to hurt her and then he merges with the shadows and leaves quickly when the humans come running out. NOW EITHER zoey is upset that he killed a lot of the livestock and just wants to go out and do something else so she becomes a rouge before getting adopted into a clan, OR orrr her owners see the claw marks on the livestock and the blood on zoey and assume shes the one who attacked them and that shes too feral and agressive to be a pet for them so they throw her out </3 Forcing her to have to go out and hunt for herself. Eventually she saves the main kids while theyre. just barely apprentice age becase they snuck out to save cooper from something and since they were still kits they coudlnt defend themselves all too well so zoey saves them yahhh OKAY. Thats enough for this post i think/ OH BUT ALSO YEAh zoey wants revenge on the night hunter for taking away the only sembelance of family she had left yipeeee
