okay i swore that i wasnt going to scroll through the neil gaiman tag today (and be off tumblr for a few days as well) but im going to just

sit here and not act like any of this is okay

i have formed an opinion about this. yes, this shit is frightening. yes, it is triggering for me. yes, i will defend the victims despite my love for the content that neil gaiman has put out for me and that i openly like and appreciate.

however, just like every other media scandal that i have seen over the years (depp v. heard, wilbur soot, dream, to name a few), im keeping myself open to multiple endings of this story.

-> the victims could be correct. and i will stand by them for that. victims shouldnt have to go through that.

-> the victims could be correct but also used by the podcast for a TERF narrative. that could also be a possibility. disgusting for the podcast, but i'll still stand by the victims. they'd go through a lot more if this was the reason.

-> the victims could be falsely accusing neil gaiman of this. that is a possibility, and it has occurred personally in my life. when i say this, i am NOT saying that the victims are immediately lying about this shit. that is insensitive as fuck and i am not looking to stir the pot further.

-> finally, the victims could be falsely accusing neil gaiman of this for a TERF narrative by the podcast. the most unlikely situation here. honestly a really disgusting play by everyone here. i dont WANT this ending to be true. but here i am, open to every and all endings that i can get.

so, with that said, i believe im going to ACTUALLY take some time off and watch something else that will distract me for the time being. i'd rather be distracted than constantly triggered, after all.
