what gets me the most about the ungodly levels of five’s character assassination in s4 is how it affected his ending. he died feeling alone, useless, unloved, and believing that he failed his family. the family that he spent 45 years trying to get back to. the family that he spent 3 weeks straight fighting for. he took a bullet for them, killed for them, did everything in his power for THEM. he cared about them more than anything. his siblings have ALWAYS been his motivation. but apparently the writers just forgot all of that and decided to give him a creepyass out-of-character homewrecker romance that absolutely nobody wanted and then left him in a place that basically said everything he did was for nothing.

it’s so crazy how, all the way from haku in the very first arc to minato after pain arc (i would argue haku and minato are considered to be some of the most sympathetic and good characters by the narrative) , the common consensus is THE NINJA WAY IS FUCKED UP. haku says that if he is forced to kill innocent children (naruto and sasuke) for his master’s employer’s profit he will finally have embraced the ninja way. minato’s ghost says that despite the many improvements over the warring clans period, the ninja way is extremely broken and perverted by both greed (wars are started purely for profit destroying entire villages caught in the crossfire) and grief (infinite cycle of revenge etc) and needs drastic change.

and naruto understood this from day one it’s his literal catchphrase. he is consistently told by adults how the world works but he refuses to budge. “that’s my ninja way!” <- he’s literally stating he has his own ninja way separate from society. obviously kishimoto (and therefore naruto) ‘s mindset is very uhhh. moralist. but even he seems to clearly get that the military state working on behalf of profit is yknow. bad and needs immediate change

They only talked about George Floyd here because the topic of his death became world news. Even people in other countries were talking about it. Before him, it was probably Ferguson and Trayvon Martin… most of them are still trying their best to ignore the genocides because it’s a “touchy subject.” What do you expect from white people who live in their own bubbles of comfort and refuse to pop it with a needle??? They find comfort in their privilege and faux ignorance (they love playing stupid to avoid conversations about important things outside of fandoms like, are these mfs born with half a brain dedicated to fandom or what.) I’m actually scared of alienating some of my followers and moots with all the trans discourse I’ve been steeping quietly in and contemplating, but… I’m trying to not let being scared shut me up about this. That, in and of itself, is erasure and silencing.

Fuck staying quiet. Trans men and mascs deserve a voice, and we, as a group, are not oppressing or invalidating anyone else by using that voice. (Obviously there are shithead exceptions!! Anyone can be an asshole.)

I really hope that if I ever speak about any of this in the future, that people recognize that it’s not ever, ever trans femininity as a concept I have an issue with. It’s people who

- try to divide the community

- are reinventing gender essentialism from the ground up but make it trans

-police other people’s identities and decide for them what oppression they must face because of a tiny set of superficial traits

- simply. Don’t understand what intersectionality means.

- disregard and invalidate anyone who doesn’t fit a very specific (binary, rich, white, abled, flawlessly passing) idea of what it means to be trans.

None of those things are specific or exclusive to one identity. There just happens to be a community of transfems who are currently espousing many of these ideas as gospel. They are understandably defensive because of real actual transmisogyny they face. But other trans people are not your enemy. Accusing anyone and everyone who tries to point these flaws out as radical transmisogynists is simply not true. Pointing out bigotry is not bigotry in itself.

I don’t want the trans community to constantly be at each other’s throats. We each have to sit down and think if we ever catch ourselves blaming an entire other marginalized group for our issues. That’s just fascism babes.
