what gets me the most about the ungodly levels of five’s character assassination in s4 is how it affected his ending. he died feeling alone, useless, unloved, and believing that he failed his family. the family that he spent 45 years trying to get back to. the family that he spent 3 weeks straight fighting for. he took a bullet for them, killed for them, did everything in his power for THEM. he cared about them more than anything. his siblings have ALWAYS been his motivation. but apparently the writers just forgot all of that and decided to give him a creepyass out-of-character homewrecker romance that absolutely nobody wanted and then left him in a place that basically said everything he did was for nothing.

As an aroace!five believer, no. I don't care if they were lost 7 years or 27 years. The only person he's loved is Dolores, the mannequin. He simply doesn't care for anyone else, never has.

I am so empty after whatever the frick balls happened with TUA S4. They massacred The aroace character of all time. People say they empathise with Five since he was "genuinely in love with Lila" but, he loves his family? Isn't that like, enough of love? Is romantic love more valid for society to seem that Five finally found happiness? IM SO SICK OF ALLOROMANTICS THE CREEPY THINGS THEY DO FOR ROMANCE GWT ME OUT OF HERE.

and then the show did that

and THEN i get on tumblr and find out that aroace five is a very popular headcannon so the queer platonic idea would’ve made people besides me happy and this is very upsetting GRRRR

fiverek | displays of affection

note: i usually headcanon five as aroace, but i think fiverek is a really cute pairing and could work as a qpr (or romantic relationship if five is ace but not aro). i just adore the idea of them being super domestic with each other - they exchange a lot of biting banter, especially during work hours, but they (moreso five) are a lot more soft in quieter, private moments.

i think five wouldn’t mind the occasional forehead kisses or derek dropping a kiss on the top of his head from time to time, but would likely lean more towards more casual touch- brushing shoulders, hand holding, cuddling, leaning into hugs, faces close together and speaking in low voices. he wouldn’t offer kisses himself, but would lean heavily into quality time and acts of service.

imagine: five making derek a cup of coffee before he makes a second for himself. derek swooping by to bring five his suit. five keeping derek’s deskspace organized, but it doesn’t matter much because they’re practically sharing. derek swipes a pen from five’s desk, and there’s always a replenished stack of notebooks in his own desk because he knows that five will ‘borrow’ a page or several. supplies get swapped all the time. neither of them need to ask.

five is scribbling in a notebook, derek is reading in bed, and they don’t need to talk, but their legs are tangled together. shared silence is just as comfortable as speaking. sharing a spot on the couch, maybe with derek leaning his head on five’s shoulder and five letting him stay there, pretending not to notice, but derek can feel the way his posture relaxes when he does so. 

even though five isn’t great with verbal gestures of affection, derek can feel it in the culmination of all the little moments - helping each other before they need to ask, the displays of peace and contentment when they’re together. five never quite says ‘i love you’ aloud, but he doesn’t need to. neither of them do.

i love you, says the snacks that five finds in his pockets, derek reminding him to eat. i love you, says the way five relaxes into every bit of physical contact derek initiates. i love you, says the familiarity of their little routine, one that’s never been discussed because they’ve fallen into it so naturally that they can’t remember when it’s begun, but they recognize it now, and have no intention of stopping.

you are loved, they don’t need to say. because i do.
