Natural Makeup Routine
I think that soft glam/ Natural make-up is extremely sexy. Something about subtle makeup makes a women seem so alluring. I dont know of its the subtle contour or The wispy fluttery lashes or maybe even the lightly smoked eyeliner but I absolutely adore subtle makeup. I especially love to see other women wear Natural makeup , So Im going to share some of my secrets on how I achieve the Natural makeup!
No foundation
I don’t actually ever wear foundation but I just wanted to let you guys know that its best to skip the foundation. I moisturize , put on sunscreen and then put on primer even though im not going to be wearing any foundation. Primer helps to smooth and even out your complexion and also it minimizes pores. If your not comfortable with going completely bare face then you can opt for a thin layer of CC cream or BB cream.
The primer I like to use is Maybeline Instant Pore Eraser Primer. It usually costs (6.99 USD) I also really like NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer (10.00 USD)
Concealer
I love concealer! Its the one makeup product I cannot live without. It makes me look alive instantly its pure magic✨. I like to keep two concealers one that is 1 shade lighter and another that is 2 shades lighter. For my Natural makeup I take my concealer that is one shade lighter and I put that concealer all over my eyelids and underneath my eye. I like to blend with a beauty blender but you could also use your fingers. Don’t forget to set with a translucent powder. Brown girls and black girls make sure to get a translucent powder that has a more yellow undertone.
Some of my favorite concealers to use is the Maybelline fit me concealer in 07. Costs about (6.00 USD) ( 1 shade lighter). ELF Cosmetics HD lifting concealer in light. It costs (4.00 USD) (2 shades lighter). Both concealers have a very light creamy formula they blend very well and they stay on all day.
Mascara
Light , fluffy , fluttery and wispy lashes Complement natural make up the best! when I’m Doing a more natural look I like to opt for a brown mascara I think that brown mascara gives you such a soft natural look thats perfect for this subtle makeup look. It’s important to choose a mascara that focuses more on lengthening and defining then volumizing and thickening. I also recommend getting a eyelash primer because this will help aid in the wispy eyelash look.
CoverGirl Lash Blast Amplify Eyelash Primer costs (6.00 USD.) I love this primer it works perfectly. L’Oreal telescopic lengthening mascara in dark brown or black is my go to for this look. I only need about 2-3 coats.( Costs 7.00 USD) L’Oreal voluminous feline mascara is also a good option for this work this works perfectly by giving subtle lift to your lashes and lots of length in just 2 coats. ( Costs 8.00 USD)
Eyeliner
I personally don’t think that eyeliner is necessary for this look, but if you enjoy putting on eyeliner I would suggest using a brown eyeshadow as eyeliner. I think that brown liner looks good on every eye color and it gives that really subtle look that we are trying to achieve. You could also use a nude eyeliner in your water line. This makes the eyes appear bigger and more doll like!
Wet n Wild ColorIcon Kohl Eyeliner – Calling Your Buff (4.00 USD) is a perfect subtle nude and a staple in my makeup bag. It has a Smooth formula and is waterproof. Elf bite size shadows in Truffles has the perfect shade of brown eyeshadows that are perfect for a winged liner effect. (Costs 3.00 USD)
Brows
I dont do much to my brows because I am lucky enough to have “Nice” eyebrows. I would Suggest brushing your eyebrows and then putting some aloe vera gel on them. I think it’s important to remember that Length and fullness is more important then thick or thinness! If you want to fill in your eyebrows Just make sure to make them look full and make them look long meaning they should line up with the outer corner of your eye.
Blush And Highlight.
Blush just adds a little more life to our face. If you are a black girl or a brown girl I would suggest using either red or orange blush it looks so stunning on our skin! Pinks and Peach looks great on lighter and fairer skin tones. Put a little blush on the apples of your cheeks and over the bridge of your nose. For highlight I only put highlighter on my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose to give me a perfect subtle glow 💫 Since we are going for a soft look I suggest using A cream or liquid blush and a cream or liquid highlighter. Black and brown girls gold highlighter looks so stunning on us!
Lips
Now for lips I think it’s best to keep it simple. I usually go with a super shiny clear gloss because I just think it’s perfect! it’s not too much and it really ties the look together. Sometimes I’ll go for a more champagne colored gloss because I think that is always a suitable choice. You could always opt for a bold lip! Like A bright red or a fuchsia color , sometimes bold colors make our features stand out even more! I just personally prefer to go with gloss because it’s shiny, simple and makes my lips look really plump.
E.L.F Lip lacquer in Mauve , clear , Love Bite , Mauve Glitz all cost 3.00 USD and are perfect for a simple look. Also E.l.F pink champagne is a perfect option.
Set
Always set your make up! don’t ever leave your house without setting your make up! it is one of the most important step in make up application. I like to use E.L.F Cosmetics set and mist setting spray. It cost (5.00 USD) and works like a charm!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I hope I helped with giving you guys some guidance to achieving natural make up or natural glam. I just want to remind everyone that everyone has a different face and when you’re doing your make up you should do make up that fits and defines your face! your features! your bone structure and your eyes! It’s all about you! And don’t be afraid to experiment and try different things or mix different colors because you never know what the outcome Will be. Until next time and stay beautiful💖💖💖

Everyday Makeup Products for Zoom School
Learn in a beautiful way with everyday makeup products
Remember that feeling of rolling out of bed and doing your 15-minute everyday makeup routine (thanks, YouTube!) before running out the door for school? Quarantine may have halted that last part, but an everyday makeup routine is just as essential now that you’re heading back to the classroom in a new way: over Zoom.
In fact, it’s probably even more important now to invest in the right concealer and lipstick shade when you’re learning in the virtual sense. The last thing you need is to look washed out or have blemishes accentuated by the HD camera on your Macbook, and everyday makeup can do wonders for your self-care and self esteem during these uncertain times.
Things are definitely a bit different at school than they were last year, but you can still wow your new classmates with beautiful everyday makeup. All you need is a bit of concealer, brow gel, and perhaps a bit of sparkle… and you can do it all while wearing pajamas. Mira is here with a bit of Beauty 101 as we share our favorite everyday makeup products to make a statement this school year.
Boy Brow by Glossier, $16
Fun fact: Boy Brow is Glossier’s best selling product of all time. Why? Because it’s the everyday makeup product that makes everybody feel beautiful and on their best brow game. This brushable, creamy wax gives you impeccable arches that look completely natural, yet perfectly precise. You could tell your virtual classmates over Zoom that you’re not wearing any makeup products and just woke up like this, even if it’s definitely not true, because Boy Brow looks that effortless and will be your best brow secret throughout the rest of quarantine. Oh, and did we mention that it even contains Oleic Acid, Lecithin, and Atelocollagen to smooth and condition your brows?
Shape Tape Concealer by Tarte, $27
Every beauty influencer’s favorite concealer turns 20 this year, and believe us when we tell you that Shape Tape lives up to the hype. Very few makeup products cover dark circles and instantly brighten up your look the way this cult favorite does, and the top Mira ratings for blendability, hydration, and anti-creasing mean that you’ll always be able to say “bye bye” to dark under eyes and care for the delicate skin in this area. If you’re in the mood for a more advanced beauty look before class, this everyday makeup also works as a great highlighter when contouring your face!
Natural Matte Eyes Eye Shadow Palette by Too Faced, $59
When in quarantine, a little eyeshadow can go a long way in making you feel pretty. Or in this case, own your pretty with one of your favorite pink and powerful beauty brands. Natural Matte Eyes Eye Shadow Palette has 30 shimmer and matte shades to beautifully blend your everyday makeup looks for more than a few compliments on your Zoom call. Eyeshadow isn’t as much effort as you may think, as you can just add a simple wash of color over your lids for an instant boost of beauty. Or you know, show off your skills with a magnificent halo eye or cut crease… there are no rules in everyday makeup!
Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, $69
Casual reminder that staying inside doesn’t mean that you should skip out on your skincare routine. This is a time for sheet masks and a sparkly moisturizer, like this one from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics! It’s extra in the best way, made with ultra-fine pearl pigments to energize tired skin and restore your natural radiance. Wear it alone as it absorbs into the skin for your most gorgeous complexion, or get that dewy glow by wearing it under your foundation. It looks natural and radiant, yet extra at the same time. What more could you want in an everyday makeup product?
BB Cream by NYX Professional Makeup, $13
You can’t have a list of everyday makeup without BB cream, the #1 product to hydrate your skin and give you a dreamy, dewy glow with minimal effort. And you can always count on NYX to deliver affordable, high quality products that enhance (but don’t change!) your natural beauty. Apply this BB cream before a Zoom meeting for a burst of moisture and confidence.
Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 by Laura Mercier, $43
You may have heard that skincare comes before makeup, and while that’s generally true... you can totally have your tinted moisturizer and wear it too. This cult favorite by Laura Mercier has nearly perfect reviews on Mira Beauty, with guests writing that it lasts for hours, looks beautiful and bright, and feels extremely lightweight on your skin. All ages, all skin types, all different tastes in makeup, you’re sure to fall hard for this everyday makeup. It gives you a luminous glow that looks lovely on camera, and contains SPF to protect against sun damage even while staying inside.
Glow Kit - Sugar by Anastasia Beverly Hills, $40
Tinted moisturizer is ideal for subtle radiance, but you’ll need a highlighter to glow all out on your Zoom conference call. And don’t think it’s only for glam looks, as you can easily incorporate this sparkly must-have into your everyday makeup routine. Just sweep a bit onto your cheeks, nose, and forehead for a little shimmer that will definitely make you want to keep checking yourself out in the camera during your call (we’ve all done it,) or try a few highlighter hacks for something a little more subdued. Our favorites? A tiny dab of highlighter in the inner corners of your eyes to help you look instantly more awake and alert, or placing a bit of product in the Cupid’s bow area to fake a plumper pout.
Volum' Express The Colossal Big Shot Washable Mascara by Maybelline, $8
Here at Mira Beauty, mascara has a special place in our hearts. And also our beauty collections. It’s one of the best beginner products that many of us began using at the start of our makeup journey, and it’s never let us down when we want to look simply beautiful, but not too OTT. Even if you haven’t touched your falsies in months, a drugstore mascara like the Volum' Express The Colossal Big Shot by Maybelline can help frame your eyes and give you the long, luxurious lashes you desire. Just apply a coat or two and you’ll be good to go with any everyday makeup look!
Balm Dotcom by Glossier, $12
Ah, Glossier. The go-to beauty brand when you want to look natural, but still get that flawless skin that dreams, and Instagram filters, are made of. But you can’t get your lips get lonely either, which brings us to Balm Dotcom. This lip balm is packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to hydrate and nourish dry, chapped lips, and it’s available in seven flavors like Birthday and Coconut to make your Zoom calls more fun. Get a taste (literally) of natural beauty as this everyday makeup leaves a subtle tint and hydrates your pout with rich ingredients like Castor Oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin.
The Multiple by NARS, $39
Mood: all monochrome’ed out with nowhere to go. Except you know, a Zoom class with tons of people to compliment the beautiful color on your eyes, cheeks, and lips. As the name suggests, The Multiple by NARS is a multipurpose tool that saves you time and money while you apply one shimmery, spectacular shade onto every feature of your face. Celebrities love to own this look on the red carpet, and wearing it may just make you forget about the fact that you’ve been staying inside for months. Choose from a range of shades, including a shimmery tangerine like Puerto Vallarta, rose gold like G-Spot, or Copacabana for a sparkly pink, pearlescent hue that you’ll never want to put down.
Vitamin C Serum by Mario Badescu, $45
Your everyday makeup look needs a friend, and its name is Vitamin C. Many forget just how important this nutrient is, as it’s basically essential to the skin... yet isn’t produced naturally by the body. But don’t worry, there’s a serum for that. It’s made by your favorites at Mario Badescu (AKA, a VSCO girl’s favorite brand) to give your skin a burst of brightness while evening out complexion for better makeup application.
Matte Liquid Liner by NYX Professional Makeup, $8
There’s just something about eyeliner that can make you feel more put together, even when you’re really, really not. It’s one of Mira’s favorite everyday makeup products to put your eyes on full display throughout your conference call, and the options are endless with the Matte Liquid Liner by NYX. Use the felt tip pen to create an epic wing, or just apply a line on the top lid for simple beauty. At under $10, Matte Liquid Liner is used by tons of influencers and celebrity MUA’s. Why? Because the ultra-black, matte formula means that it won’t reflect the light in strange ways while on camera, making this liner perfect for your Zoom calls.
Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow by stila, $24
“This is seriously the best glitter eyeshadow I've ever used! The pigment is great, zero fall out, and stays on all day.” Mira reviews are all about the Liquid Eye Shadow by Stila, as it looks magnificent on your eyes and won’t give you the creasing or shadow fall out that most powders will. While this formula looks like it was made for more dramatic makeup looks, don’t let the shimmer fool you. More subtle shades like Wanderlust or Dollish create the illusion that you just spent an hour perfecting your sparkly eyeshadow, even though you spent like five minutes and it still looks perfect. Pair it with Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner to be the true star of your conference call!
Insta-Blush by Revlon, $12
Living the cream. Or dream… probably both with this everyday makeup must-have by Revlon. The “Insta” in the name of this cream blush refers to several things. For one, it gives you a sheer, natural finish in seconds that suits any makeup look. It also looks subtle enough on camera to give you just the right amount of color on your Zoom calls, without looking too clown-like or risking the HD Macbook camera picking up any streaks. In fact, certain shades of the Insta-Blush are so lightweight and blendable that it can even double as a contour stick!
Brow Powder Duo by Anastasia Beverly Hills, $23
Don’t underestimate the power of powder. Brow powder, that is. Anastasia Beverly Hills is likely one of the first brands that come to mind when you hear the word “brows,” and for good reason. You won’t be disappointed with this long lasting and volumizing powder that lifts your arches and creates the ideal shape for everyday makeup. It’s been proven that brows are the most noticeable feature on your face, and you’ll draw attention in the best way with ABH in your collection.
From the classroom to Zoom, learn more about all your favorite everyday makeup products on Mira.

Bare minimum!
If you go to the drugstore and wander in the cosmetics section, you can be completely overwhelmed by the quantity of products and brands you will find. If you don’t know what you are looking for, it will be even worse.
So I decided to put together a little cheat sheet of what you should have in your makeup bag to cover all your needs. Keep in mind that I’m always trying to achieve a natural look, so I really go minimal here, but it’s a good base to build upon.
Skin preparation
Before we do anything on our face, it is important we prepare it properly. Here is what you will need:
Facial scrub: you know these facial soaps that used to have micro-beads and that got banned almost everywhere? Well now they make mother-earth friendly products! These will clear your pores from dirt and clear your face from all the dead skin. It’s important to have a clean face or else your makeup can look cakey and won’t stick as well.
Day cream: a good day cream and/or serum. Nivea does some very good stuff at decent prices. Usually a little goes a long way, so even the small pots give you a good run for the money. If you shop at Costco, they have very good products for very decent prices in their home brand too. Apply after cleaning your face.
Makeup base/primer: some daycream can double up as makeup bases. You can also use BB cream or primer to get some light coverage or color correction before you apply your makeup. There are lots of options here and you will learn what you need over time. For example, I use a yellow base to cancel some of the redness of my skin (I have rosacea) on top of an anti-redness face cream.
You can stick to a face scrub and a day cream, but the makeup base is a good extra to help your makeup stick better. I found a few amazing products that I will list in another post.
Tools, etc.
Before applying your makeup you will need tools to apply it, etc. I will break it down into a few categories:
Consumables: this is the part where you will spend a few bucks every now and then. Makeup sponges (the small disposable wedges), makeup remover pads, Q-Tips, facial tissues, etc.
Face tools: Blender sponges (the big egg shaped sponges), face brushes, etc. The blender sponges are kind of a must have, but I don’t use them that much. A good brush set should at least include: a foundation brush, a blending brush, a concealer/contour brush and a powder brush.
Eyes tools: forget about all the gadgets for now! You need 3 brushes to get started with your eyes: a blending brush, a flat shadow brush and a liner brush.
If you watch videos on youtube with 20 years old girl advertising big brands and you look up the price, be ready to cry. Brushes can cost a LOT! But I managed to find a few good deals on big brands at Winners and Marshall’s and also stumbled on some surprising brands that are really affordable. One of my best find so far is ecotools. I’m not affiliated with them in any way, but I got their « Daily Defined Eye Kit » at Winners the other day and the brushes are awesome and they sell for really cheap. I haven’t tried their face brushes, but I will definitely give them a run in the future. From what I can see on their website, their « Airbrush Complexion Kit » looks really good for the price.
Eventually we will get to the eyebrows and lashes and the tools that go with them, but that is for another day. Now it’s time to grt down to business.
Makeup
Now to the good part! Let’s keep it to the minimum because you could buy things forever. If you want to look more feminine, there is only a few things you need to do to. The main one is to erase the beard shadow. The second one is to make your skin look more feminine. I know some girls are happy with just some eyeliner and lipstick, but this is not the case for me. If, like me, you have to change that face of yours to feel good in your skin, then the following is for you.
Beard cover: this is not an official product name, because girls do not have beard. What you will be looking for is a product that will be either pink or orange and that will stain your skin. Usually you can find those shades in the color correctors. I tried many things and for my skintone, orange is what works best. You will also have the choice between liquid or cream. My personal choice there is cream because I find it sets better on my skin, and also because I find liquid ones tend to mess my foundation color after. NYX is making excellent full coverage concealers in peach and orange. But if you are in a pickle, a cheap lipstick of the appropriate color can do as well.
Loose powder: pick a pot of loose powder that roughly matches your skin tone. If you have redness problems, you can also go with a yellow powder. This powder is multi-use, but the main one is to set your makeup in place and bake the areas that are the most at risk of rubbing off, etc.
Setting spray: it’s like glue for your makeup. Not much to add there: spray it on your face to set your makeup. Some people also use it as a skin primer. It usually works both ways.
Matched concealer: a concealer that matches your skin tone. I like a liquid concealer for that application. You will put that in the T zone and in the under eye area. Some people also use a concealer as an eyeshadow base, but I personally don’t like it.
Foundation: your color matched foundation. As I always say, better go with something that has buildable coverage as it is more versatile.
Eye shadow base: makeup companies now make specialized products to prime your eye lids. I prefer those a lot as they can help the colors pop and keep your eye shadow from creasing much better than any concealer would. My absolute favorite is the MAC Painterly base, but it doesnt work well with everyone. My girlfriend, for example, cannot use it because it drags the skin of her eyelids. She needs something more liquid. There are a few good liquid and cream eyeshadow bases in the drugstores. Revlon makes a decent one that really helps with creasing.
Eye shadow palette: if you are not certain what to pick, I suggest you go with a « quad » or something similar. Quads are those small palettes that have 4 colors that go together. They are basically a look in a box. If you are not sure which colors to pick, nude shades are pretty much universal. Otherwise, stay tuned and I’ll cover eyeshadow in another post.
Contour/Highlight/Blush palette: you might not find it all in one palette. I try to avoid highlighters that have too much glitter (it’s a trend to look shiny it seems) but sometimes it does look good.
Mascara: everybody knows what that is. Maybelline’s Great Lash has been a reference in the drugstore brands for years. Cheap and effective!
Eyeliner: you need two black eyeliners. A black liquid liner pen and a black kajal liner pencil. NYX make some really good liner pens and pencils. Maybelline also has amazing liquid liners and pencils. Experiment with different products because most of the fun is in the eyes!
Lipstick: pick your color! I really love Maybelline’s matte lip ink. It’s a liquid lipstick with a built it applicator that lets you draw on your lips with precision and that turns, once set, practically indestructible.
Conclusion
This is what I put in my makeup bag. The full makeup routine take time to do and time to master. Your first attempts will be disappointing if not frustrating. Don’t worry: it’s part of the process! Before I end that post, a quick reminder: get some makeup remover. Fractionated coconut oil also works wonders!

i really wanted to do this makeup questionnaire!! you could say i was tagged by @cacupid (but not really dshjka) so here i am 🥰🥰🥰
What foundation/concealer do you use?
currently i dont use a concealer bc i havent found one i like and i feel like concealer generally looks a bit cakey on me since i like light coverage, but i use the Too Faced Born this Way Foundation in the shades snow and cloud (mixed together) although i’m thinking of looking into the new Fenty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation since I know they have my shade (tried the matte formula) and I would rather support Fenty than Too Faced! Not gonna try it till ive used up all of my BTW though 🥰
What do you think of fake eyelashes?
i think they can look super pretty! but i also dont like using them myself bc i have deepset eyes and they generally cover all my eyeshadow ! i will use them if im doing a campy / editorial sort of look but im so bad at applying them its barely worth it sometimes fhadsjfak
What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
I use mainly a brush set i got from BH cosmetics which are great quality as well as some Ecotools brushes i got from Coles. i also use a cheap makeup sponge i got from kmart bc it does the job and its ridiculous to spend $30 on a sponge that is no different than cheaper sponges!!
What makeup do you currently wear every day?
i don’t wear makeup everyday but when i do and its not like a ~special~ look i generally use no primer (besides moisturiser), the foundation I mentioned set with my Australis HD Translucent Loose Setting Powder which I’ve only just started using and i like it so far, really finely milled! for my brows i use my Rimmel Wonder’full Brow Gel in 003 Dark Brown since it darkens my brows perfectly bc if I do it too much I look like a neanderthal lmao (love that deep set eye prominent brow bone combo). For eye shadow I generally use my Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina palette or my BH Cosmetics Love Signs palette followed by my Elf H2O Proof Eyeliner Pen (not the greatest eyeliner but since i only do wings and dont fully line my eye it works for me!) I then curl my lashes and apply the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara (the sample sizes last so long). If I’m doing blush it’ll be my Revlon Insta Blush Stick in Nude Kiss or Maybelline Fit Me blush in Rose! Finally i’ll generally use one of my NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams since I find them super comfy and set with Morphe Continuous Setting Mist!!
What do you think of makeup?
I enjoy makeup as a way to express myself creatively since i suck at traditional art lol but i also think it can be dangerous and that the current insta glam makeup that is trendy now is dangerous - no one can look that perfect!!! i also think it fosters self esteem issues with much of the marketing bc thats how they make money, by shaming people!! i also hate when im expected to wear makeup i think its a problem when it gets to that point where someone has literal anxiety about being bare faced, like it can really be traumatic ! also the trend of having tons of makeup i mean that shits expensive and you really dont need that much, it shouldnt be normalised AGH. i also hate how a lot of brands sexualise their products which theyre promoting to young girls !! its disgusting!!! dont call your mascara better than sex or your blush orgasm i get so heated over this, they shouldnt think to use makeup to make them ~sexy~ theyre young girls this makeup makes them look like theyre in their 20s they shouldnt be worrying about their appearance in this way theyre kids AGH
What cosmetic products have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?
I really wanna try some colourpop products, nothing in particular but i hear their quality is great for the price and if that doesnt draw me in idk what does!
How often do you shop for makeup?
not very often, i usually buy makeup if i need to replace a staple in my routine, or if i see a palette i really like and am in the financial position to buy it / can’t dupe it with my current collection
Who are your favorite bloggers/vloggers?
i LOVE Smokey Glow and Nisipisa, they’re great if youre looking into makeup with a critical anti-consumerism eye
Do you like multifunctional products like lip and cheek stains?
yes! i use my cream blushes for lip stains sometimes and they look very nice
Do you subscribe to any beauty boxes?
nope! idk if there are any in australia and id rather just buy stuff i want than buy random things that i might not even like
Favourite recent beauty buy?
probably my Sugarpill Fun Size palette! the colours are so unique, but i was rly disappointed in the shade Twitch it under-performed compared to the rest :(
All-time favourite beauty item?
probably my BTW Foundation bc it was the only foundation I’ve ever used that doesn’t sink into my pores and cling to my dry patches
Any beauty brands you won’t support?
Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Kat Von D, Kylie Cosmetics, KKW Beauty, most influencer brands, Huda Beauty, Limecrime, Morphe (when I finish my setting mist I won’t be buying again)
I tag anyone who wants to do this! i dont really know anyone on here so just go for it 💖 sorry that this doesnt make heaps of sense i struggled putting my thoughts into words haha

still! holding out for the jewelry collection some day!!! your collection is gorgeous! I grew up ingrained with very shitty ideas about 'girly girls' (anyone who wore skirts or dresses and make-up) and never learned how to wear make-up. now I'm 26, realize how stupid childhood me was, and have no idea where to start
Essential products I recommend:
Foundation (must fit your lifestyle, shade, and skin type)
Translucent setting powder (Maybelline Fit Me or Laura Mercier)
concealer (my recent favorite is the Makeup Revolution concealer at $7. It is better than my Estee Lauder which was $38)
Bronzer (I love the Benefit Hoola Bronzer but, BH Cosmetics has a contouring palette that seems very good and much cheaper. This can be omitted if you wish, but honestly, i find it warms the face and can establish shadow if you want.)
Blush (People say blushes are an area to spend money. I completely disagree. I recommend you pinch your skin and see what color it turns and try to match it. That’s an old Avon Lady trick I picked up)
Brow pencil (My favorite is a bit pricey, but I think it is worth it. Benefit Precisely My Brow. If you cannot afford it, look for the NXY brow pencil)
Eye shadows of a few shades (pick one color that is similar to your skin tone but a matte or opalescent finish, a matte black, two browns, and depending on your eye color, a cluster of shades that complement it. That’s really all you need. I am not going to recommend eyeliner, because that takes practice, but the matte black shadow on an angled brush along the lash line can do the job. MAC and Morphe both have good ones, but my favorite is the MELT cosmetics “dark matter” and it is a bit pricey, but to me, the matte black has to be an investment.)
A lip liner and matching shade of lipstick. (If you tend to want to play up your eyes, play down the lips, purchasing a color similar to your natural lip tone but slightly more nude or more pink. If you want to wear only neutral tones on the eyes, but accentuate the lips, Choose shades that complement skin.)
If you don’t want to wear false lashes which are tedious, do invest in a good mascara. The one I have in the picture (pale pink tube) is the one I use on my false lashes, which I know, I’m not supposed to do, but I do it for a reason. I think it’s by Maybelline.
Setting Spray, brushes (Real techniques has good quality, as does ELF and NYX. You need several eyeshadow brushes, a flat angled brush, a couple tapered blening brushes and a fluffy face brush at the very least), a sponge (again, Real Techniques has a good one as you can see from the orange sponge in my picture, but the beautyBlender is best),
these are the only things you need to get started, I think. Most humans can get by with just this.

Makeup Voiceover;Ten
Request: OML I LOVED YOUR BOYFRIEND DOES MY VOICEOVER CHALLENGE WITH JAEHYUN 😍😍😍😍 if you do one for ten I will love you forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️
okay first of all
📣📣 I MISS TEN 📣📣
and im sure we all do
so i'll try my best to feed you all with this post
and i hope it's good enough
let's go
so you and him have a youtube channel together
you all take turns to upload videos every week
most of the time you film makeup tutorials, hauls & anything related to fashion/beauty
while for ten he films dance covers/tutorials, vlogs & reaction videos
on weekends the both of you try to film videos of just the both of you, be it vlogs, q&a's or challenges
your subscribers love the both of you very much!!!
and they always mention how cute the both of you are because the way the both of you stare at each other lovingly in videos make their hearts melt
which is why they asked & suggested ten to do this challenge
because always in vlogs ten would always film his reaction of staring at you preparing your makeup before yall head out
and his eyes are all 😍
with a small sweet smile on his face
and after days of contemplating he finally agreed
and both of you were excited because yall had never done a challenge like that before
throughout the whole process while you were filming the makeup video,
ten had purposely entered the room to interrupt
be it making weird noises, singing songs or just randomly waving at the camera
which caused you to lock him out eventually
after what seemed like hours to ten you were finally done
and you were met with an excited small little boy entering the room to record the voiceover as soon as you were done
setting up everything he clicks play
"today's video is very different!!!"
"we're-or i, will be doing the makeup voiceover challenge"
"i swear so many people suggested this our whole comment section was filled with this"
"okay enough of talking, let's start"
"so here we have a bare and natural faced Y/N, such a beauty wOW"
"she's clipping up her hair first oh"
"first step!!"
"foundation"
"she's taking out this silicon transparent thingy- IT'S REALLY FUN TO SQUISH GUYS"
"she told me the name of it once but i forgot"
"-she's using the foundation from Clinique"
"oh it says on the bottle that it's a concealer too, how cool!!"
"oh she's squeezing it on the silicon thingy"
"dab dab dab haha"
"and blend it out evenly"
"oh babe's skin looks lighter now"
"-just saying i love your natural skin more but oh well, still beautiful"
"oh i think that was my voice"
"i thought she'd cut it out but i guess she didn't, rate my singing guys!! Y/N's says it's annoying"
"sINCE WHEN, I DIDN'T"
imitates you "go away babe you're so annoying"
"it was a joke"
"i know, i love you"
"okay sorry for that, but moving on!"
"she taking out a pencil?"
"what is it for.."
"ahhh eyebrows!"
"it's from nyx cosmetics"
"she's starting to draw it"
"look how concentrated she is, how cute"
"anyways while we wait for her to finish drawing her brows-"
"look at the mirror she's holding!!"
"it was the first gift i ever got for her, isn't it cute how she still keeps it oh my"
"and... she's done!!"
"wow on fleek babe"
"i think she's doing her eyes next!"
"just look at those eyes wow"
"she taking out a palette"
"the uh... maybelline's uh.. '24karat nudes'? one"
"wow such a long name but-"
"she's using the light brown shade"
"applying gently on her eyelids"
"what was that-"
"oh sorry it was me again, just me saying hi"
"i couldn't help myself i'm sorry hehe"
"look at her giggling at me omg"
"i love this angel-"
"but,, she's done with her eyeshadow!"
"she taking out another stick like thing"
"it's a mascara!"
"it's from l'oreal- the name's too long again but-"
"oh this is cool, it makes your lashes longer??"
"woah look her eyes now, extremely gorgeous!!!"
"okay i think she's done with her eyes"
"cheeks now"
"-the place where i love giving kisses the most"
"why'd you say that out omg"
"i mean... it's not like they haven't seen us kiss on camera before.."
suddenly attacks you with a kiss
"hehe nothing happened guys"
"but i think she's doing her highlight?"
"making her look more stunning like always but"
"she's using the one frok stila!"
"it's so shiny wow"
"using a brush she's just applying it on her cheekbones, forehead and bridge of the nose"
"blend blend blend"
"and viola,, babe's shining under the light!!"
"we're not done with blush yet why is she blushing-"
"- and laughing"
"okay, must be me again- i was dancing and making funny faces to distract her so"
"her laughing's so adorable though"
"okay she's cooled down"
"she chased me out of the room after that-"
"oh she's really not applying blush??"
"thank me"
"last but not least, her lips!!"
"she's holding up the one from too faced, in a matte pink colour"
"it's so watery woah"
"apply it really carefully"
"HAHA look she drew it out of her lips but it's okay, still cute"
"oops she realised it and cleaned it up aw"
"and.... she's done!!"
"she looks like a model now wow"
"why aren't you on a magazine babe"
"so gorgeous"
"guys my girlfriend never fails to impress, right?"
"maybe she should take over the whole channel-"
"i'm talking so much today!!"
"but this was really fun to do and extremely amazing too"
"don't forget to show Y/N love by commenting and viewing her videos!"
"but of course, not forgetting mine too-"
"a new video will be up soon so do subscribe, like and comment, we love you all!!"
once he's done recording he has this proud look on his face
with the sweetest smile
"i did it babe hehe"
then he suddenly jumps up and laughs to himself
and when you ask him why
"omg babe maybe you should do a voiceover for my dance tutorial next time too"

alyssa i need your advice!! i have noticed you are quite a make up enthusiast and i was wondering if you could give me some small advice! it could be about basic products or techniques, anything! i am new to make up and i have zero clue and i feel kinda embarrassed about it. sorry for the trouble and love your blog and love towards sehun!
Omg I just saw this! I was a mess when I first started off doing my makeup but I do think it’s better to start small and work your way up.
I recommend investing in a set of makeup brushes but it doesn’t have to be expensive! Bh cosmetics/morphe/colourpop/elf/coastal scents/real techniques have good brush sets. But definitely look up reviews and other recommendations before you purchase anything makeup related.
For foundation I definitely suggest getting a primer to apply before it. But your primer and foundation depend on what you skin type is.
If you’re not sure I would suggest going to like Sephora or ulta and having them see what you can use. My first foundation was Mac and it was pretty expensive but in my opinion expensive foundations look better.
But good drugstore foundations would be maybelline fit me, L’Oréal infallible, nyx total drop control, and lots of people like the wet n wild foundation but it wasn’t for me. But again these could be hits and misses.
Also! For foundation I think the easiest and best way to apply it is with a Beauty blender. It’s like $20 for one but it’s so good 😖😖.
Also nyx and elf are good affordable brands for makeup. There setting sprays and primers are good.
As for eyeshadow I didn’t start wearing that until like the second year of me wearing makeup lol. But if you want to try out new things invest in a nice palette. I’m a colourpop enthusiast and they have wonderful palettes for like $16.
For basic face products I always use drugstore mascara bc paying for a $20-$30 one is just ridiculous lol. My fave is the L’Oréal voluminous lash paradise.
I love Milani and wet n wild blushes so I mostly use those.
Drugstore lipsticks are good too but I’m a colourpop fan so I mostly use there lipsticks.
I use Milani, nyx, and colourpop eyebrow products but brows are important so if you wanna invest in A+ brow products, ABH has amazing og products.
Now these next products are if you wanna step up the game but again I didn’t use them until awhile after I started wearing makeup.
Bronzer, highlight, concealer (I can’t believe I didn’t wear concealer when I first wore makeup skdjdkjsks), setting powder, eyeliner, lashes, setting spray.
This is overwhelming for me so I hope it’s not too much for you! 😭😫 if you wanna message me privately about more questions you’re more than welcome to!
Also I HIGHLY recommend watching makeup tutorials bc they help SO MUCH. Like so so much especially if you want basic techniques for ways to apply your makeup.

Hey doll hey! Hope all is well with you today. Today it’s cold and raining so my Fibromyalgia is acting up. My pain level is around an 8.
Today I review for you the 4th palette in the Coastal Scents Reveal line, Reveal Matte. It’s a spot on dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette (Urban Decay on the left). The Urban Decay Palette (regularly $54 on sale for $29 for NET WT. 12 x 0.04 oz on the Urban Decay website) has 12 shadows and the Revealed palette (regularly $20 on sale for $5 for Net Weight: 30g / 1oz on the Coastal Scents website) has 20.
I really love that I am doing these Revealed reviews blind. Every day I open a new palette not knowing what it’s going to look like and being pleasantly surprised.
Today I’m not feeling so good so I did another neutral halo eye look. It’s quick and easy and still looks pretty.
Each Reveal palette I open just keeps getting better and better. I give the Revealed Mattes palette an A++. Once again it could benefit from a dark brown but I understand that this palette was meant to dupe the Urban Decay one so a dark brown would have been out of place in this palette.
This is an all matte palette. The shadows are finely milled and very buttery. They blend like a dream, in fact I would dare to say they blend better than the Urban Decay palette does, it’s not as pigmented but it’s not too far off from the pigmentation of the Naked Ultimate Basics palette.
I find that the Revealed Matte palette shadows blend together better than the Ultimate Basics palette does. I did this same eye look with the Ultimate Basics and the colors muddled together, with the Revealed Matte palette the colors stand out from each other.
Now on to the face of the day…..
Base: I primed with the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer ($38 for 1 fluid ounce on the IT website). I concealed my dark under eyes with the Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 for .08 ounces at Sephora) in the color light medium, then I concealed the whole under eye with the Balm Time Balm Concealer ($18 for .26 ounces on the Balm website) in the color light medium. I chose IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ ($15 for .4 ounces at Sephora) in the color Medium. I set my whole face, including under eyes with the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 for 1 ounce at Ulta) in the color translucent. I bronzed my face with BH Cosmetics Brilliance Bronzer ($10 on their website) in the color Bronze Babe.
Eyes: Primed my eyes with Tarte Shape Tape ($27 for .33 ounces at Ulta) in the color light medium honey. I used the Reveal Matte Palette and set my Shape Tape with the 1st color on the top (medium cream matte). My first transition color is the 4th color on the bottom (medium tan matte) and I followed it up with the 5th color on the bottom (light brown with orange undertone matte). For my crease and the inner and outer 1/3 of the lid I picked the 3rd color on the bottom (terra cotta matte). I also used this shade on my lower lash line. For the center 1/3 of my lid I used Hikari cream pigment ($15 on the Hikari website) in the color honey dew. I highlighted my inner corner with Urban Decay single shadow ($20 at Ulta) in the color midnight cowboy. I lined my upper lids with BH Cosmetics Power Pencil ($8 on the BH website) in the color black. I used the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on the BH website) matte side on my brow bone and set it with the 2nd shade on the top of the Reveal Matte palette (a light cream matte). I did my eyebrows with the ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 on the ELF website) and Wow Brow ($4 on the ELF website) in the color dark brown. I used the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black ($5.7 at Target).
Cheeks and Lips: I used Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush ($29 at Ulta) in the color Natural Beauty. I highlighted the tops on my cheeks, temples, nose, and cupid’s bow with Essence Pure Nude Highlighter (4.49 at Ulta) in the color be my light. I lined my lips with NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the color Milan and I used Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink ($9.49 at Ulta) in the color Lover.
Final Thoughts….
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer is just Ok for me. It doesn’t do much for my pores but it does lock down the foundation. I’d give it a C+. I don’t like the smell but I do like how smooth my skin feels with it.
The Balm Time Balm Concealer gets a C- for me. It’s billed as a dark circle concealer but I always have to use a color corrector with it. It gets trapped in my under eye lines but it does make the under eye look hydrated.
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream comes in 12 shades, 3 for deeper skin. I really like this cc cream. It makes my skin look perfected without over covering my skin. It doesn’t feel heavy like most cc and bb creams feel. It’s not greasy, and it doesn’t oxidize. You do however need to set this cc cream as it stays tacky. I’d give it a solid B. This is because there isn’t much shade difference between the deeper shades… in 2019 there should be more inclusive shade ranges.
BH Cosmetics Brilliance Bronzer is low key becoming my favorite powder bronzer. I would give it a A-. Again, not a lot in the range for deeper skinned beauties. I love how radiant this bronzer is. It’s super pigmented so you have to go in with a light hand.
Coastal Scents Revealed Matte palette gets an A++ from me, again I wish there was a dark brown shade but this palette is amazing! It out preforms it’s dupe by a long shot. I definitely see myself reaching for this palette much more for everyday makeup looks, or even as a companion palette to a shimmery palette. Out of all the Reveal palettes I have reviewed so far, I would say this is the palette to get.
BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter is a dead on dupe for the Billion Dollar Brow’s highlighter. I still like the BH Cosmetics one more, because the of the price, yes but also because it has a creamier formula. I give it an A+.
The brow products and mascara are my staple go to products so I wont bore you again with them … just run ….. grab them while you can.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blushes are my FAVORITE blushes of life! They are matte, pigmented, and silky. I give them an A+++.
Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink is not my favorite formula. It’s billed as giving you up to 16 hours of saturated liquid matte. It gets a C- from me. It doesn’t dry down like most liquid lipsticks. It stays sticky in an uncomfortable way. If I leave me lips pressed together too long they peel away color from the contact. The color range is nice but it’s just not my favorite formula.
Well…. that’s all for now dolls. Heart you heaps. Hope the day gives you everything you deserve. Remember, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
Coastal Scents 4 Review and Face of the Day Hey doll hey! Hope all is well with you today. Today it's cold and raining so my Fibromyalgia is acting up.

Tomorrow is American Independence Day, and to celebrate I decided to channel the red-white-and-blue through my makeup!
I wanted to create a look that I would actually wear out in public, so, before I even picked up a brush I knew I was going to finish off this look with a red lip – a matte one, in fact, so it wouldn’t slide around as I’m enjoying a family barbecue or watching fireworks light up the night sky!
The finished look! I’m calling it “The Blue Firework”
I began by prepping my skin – washing my face, then applying eye cream and moisturizer. My face-washing routine and favorite skin care products will be available on We Aim To Slay soon!
My day and night face washing routines are very similar, but differ because of one product!
After washing my face, I applied a generous amount of the “Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil-Free Moisturizer with aloe vera and bamboo.” Even though this is a moisturizer, I like to use it as a primer in the summer. The bamboo extract helps to minimize shine, while the aloe vera soothes and hydrates!
I had previously reviewed this product in a post about an Ulta haul, which is linked here! And, also coming soon, is a post where I’ll discuss the finite details of how I apply my favorite makeup products!
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let it show…”
Next it’s time to conceal the fact that I hardly ever sleep! Currently I’ve been using the “Clinique Beyond Perfecting Super Concealer” in shade Medium 18, which I blend using my ring fingers.
Then I apply my favorite foundation: the “Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector” in shade Medium Dark.
With my main base applied, I begin the first round of an uncountable series of blending, starting with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
Blending may take forever, but it certainly does create a seamless look and finish!
Now I set these products with the “Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder” with a Morphe R2 brush.
After I apply the powder all over my face, I use my blending sponge to bake my under eyes. I first mentioned the baking technique in my 2017 New Years Eve Get Ready With Me post. It’s not something that I do frequently, but every time I do I’m impressed.
Next I applied the “Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush” in shade Quirky, and the “Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder” in shade Aura as highlighter to finish off my base.
On the right, my natural eyebrow. On the left, my eyebrow after filling in with powder and using a spoolie brush to comb the product through.
Moving to the eye – the focal point of this look – I started by sculpting my eyebrows. To do so I used the “Nyx Wicked Dreams” eyeshadow palette.
Now the fun begins! To create this blue eyeshadow look I used two shadow palettes – “Kylie Cosmetics Blue Honey” and “Alamar Cosmetics Reina Del Caribe.”
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Step one – apply the shade “Raw” from the Kylie palette all over the eye area, from the lash line up under the brow bone. I used a fluffy eyeshadow brush, and it’s the brush I’ll be using for most of this look.
Next I applied the Kylie shade “Buzz Off” as my lid color. This is a shimmery silver color, which will help give the illusion of sparklers and fireworks – pretty festive, right?
On to the color of the hour: blue! I used the Alamar shade “Celia” to begin carving out my crease and outer corner. This shade is closer to a teal, but eye makeup is like an artist’s gradient scale – color should be built gradually to allow for a buildable depth and shadowy darkness.
Back to blending: this time I’ll be using a fluffy shadow blending brush to smooth the lines between shadow shades.
Then I added that shadow and depth by adding the Alamar shade “Varadero” on top of the shade “Celia”. I recommend tapping excess powder off of the brush before applying it to your eye. This will reduce powder fall out, but also allows you to deepen the color little by little for your desired effect. At this point I’ll blend again, and add another layer or two of “Varadero” until I reach my desired shade of blue, blending between layers.
Because I just spent so much time with a dark shade, I’m going to use a flat packing brush to apply another layer of “Buzz Off” to the inner third of my eye (from the inner corner to just over the curve of the eye). Using the same blending brush, I’ll use one side to blend from the inner corner to just over the curve, and then flip the brush and use the other side to blend from the outer corner in, just over the curve.
Using a Nyx B-18 eyebrow brush, I lined my bottom lash line in the shade “Varadero,” which I brought from the outer corner until my lashes stop being visible. To finish off the eyeshadow, I used the Alamar shade “El Malecon” to highlight my inner corner. I brought this shade out to meet the bottom liner shade.
To finish the eye, I applied the “Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner” in black to the top liner, bringing the line out into a wing. And, I topped it off with the “Maybelline Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length” waterproof mascara in black.
To complete the look, I lined my lips with the “Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil” in shade Uptight, and went over that with the “NARS Velvet Matte Lip Crayon” in shade “Cruela.”
And there you have it, a fun and barbecue-approved, 4th of July makeup look! If you give this or a similar look a try, post it on Instagram with the hashtag #WeAimToSlay, so that I can see what you create! Happy Independence Day, and remember to SLAY!
How to create an Independence Day-inspired makeup look, perfect for all of your 4th of July festivities! Tomorrow is American Independence Day, and to celebrate I decided to channel the red-white-and-blue through my makeup!

how the fuck do you do your makeup so well? and im a transwoman looking for like a basic set of stuff what should i get?
Dude, youtube the heck out of that stuff, it’s where i’ve learnt most. Thanks for thinking i do my makeup well though. In terms of basics, it depends on your skin-type and price range. If you can afford it, i’d definitely recommend:1. Foundation (i prefer the Makeup Forever Ultra HD one, or Mac Studio Fix)2. Mascara (literally anything from Covergirl is fine, or if you can afford it- anything from Benefit Cosmetics, like “Roller Lash”)3. Liquid eyeliner (cheap: Nyx, higher-end: Kat von D tattoo liner)4. Contour! I use either the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit, or the Kat von D one, but you can get some good, affordable ones from Nyx.5. Blush (i use a blush in a Stila palette, but you should try out a variety of drug-store type ones because i’ve found they’re all similar, and it just depends once again on how much you’re willing to pay- Maybelline and Revlon have some adequate ones, i believe.6.Eyeshadow (literally cant go wrong with any of the Naked palettes, but they’re really overpriced; otherwise Stila and Tarte have some nice smaller palettes)7. Powder (not a massive necessity if you’re starting out, but definitely an important part of a collection: used to put over foundation to help set it and make it higher coverage): probably recommend Mac studio fix, or you can go for a cheaper one from Nyx, or literally any other brand (you really shouldnt have to spend too much on powder....i’ve learnt the hard way)8. Lipstick!! Literally i could go on about lipstick forever. I prefer liquid lipstick (from Kat von D, Nyx and Tarte), but regular is fine as well. It’s good to just experiment and see what you like/the colours most suited to you (as with all the other makeup products).9. Highlighter: any is fine, however i really like the Hourglass “Ambient Lighting Palette”. Nyx ones are good as well, i think. 10. Setting spray: not really important, but if you like, it can definitely increase the longevity of your makeup and allow it to set (i use the Urban Decay one, but it’s soooo overpriced)11. concealer is generally quite important as well (only put it last because i forgot about it because i dont really use it, but it’s usually a staple item for most people), used to cover up spots/blemishes/hide red-ness/etc.
Good luck, hun. I know it seems like a massive amount of products/information, but there’s no rush. Take it slow, look up some good beauty youtubers like: Gabby, Sophie, Fleur, Zoe, etc. There’s no hurry. Test things out, see what you like and your skills will catch up x

16) Favorite makeup brands
BOY
So Drugstore makeup brand top favorite:Primer 2.0: Master Primer: Blur and Redness Control, I use this with my Clinique primer that will be mentioned after.Color Corrector: Now I just found this stuff the other day, and I love this and adds an extra layer of color correctness that I need: Hard Candy’s Color Corrector Radiant Primer it says primer but i only use it in target red spotsFoundation L’oreal true match, while a bit heavy, it is full coverage, and with a proper primer doesn’t feel as heavy and greasy as the day wears. Mascara: Now I used to used Sephora’s brand name, but honestly there are so many amazing drugstore brands. My current obsession is called Lash Sensational by MaybellineUnder eye color corrector/concealer: Maybelline Cover stick Color Corrector and just recently found Hard Candy’s Color Correct Expert Creme Highlighter: Hard Candy’s Iridescent Pearl Highlighter is the newest love, super sparkly! Though I also love NYX’s Illuminator Contour Palette: Profusion Studio Contour Palette High End: Setting Spray: Urban Decay All NighterPowder: Sephora Baked Foundation Face PowderPrimer: Clinique Superprimer Face Primer - Colour Corrects RednessBlush: Too Faced Love Flush Long LastingLipstick: Jeffree Star CosmeticEyeliner: Stilla Stay All Day Liquid Liner or Make Up Forever Ink LinerEyeshadow: Fuck u i can’t do eyeshadow

Sorry about the lack of posts this week, I’ve been fighting an annoying cold and lacking energy. Today I’m pretending to not be sick though, which hopefully will trick my body to get the hint and fire back up to my usual self. Anyway, I wanted to go into detail about a lipstick I have been absolutely loving lately.
I picked up the Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lipstick in Christmas Cookie a couple weeks ago. When the collection was revealed, this was described as a shade between Mannequin & Celebrity Skin, I was sold. There have been times when I have seen someone wearing both of those shades and wanted them, but couldn’t decide between the two. JS Cosmetics marketing was almost scary specific… and right on point to sell me.
Christmas Cookie has been a great purchase and I have to stop myself from reaching for it every time I do my makeup. The formula of this lipstick is pigmented, long lasting, do not flake off, and one of the best I own. I would compare it to Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stains, which are top notch in my opinion. This one is probably even a little better than those, but a bit more expensive at $18 each.
The color is a basic neutral nude. The first day I swatched it when I was pale and it came off a bit peachy, very similar to MAC Lady Be Good. When dried down all the way, Christmas Cookie has a tad more light pink and less brown than Lady Be Good. If I was wearing them though it wouldn’t be a noticeable difference. It took me quite a lot of swatching to find any exact dupes in my collection. I think this is because usually I buy what I consider “interesting” nudes that have a grey, mauve, red, or brown undertone. This one having a peach pink color makes it a little unique in my opinion.

I am drawn to sleek sophisticated packaging on cosmetics usually, so the sparkly pink packaging was a little over the top for me. It is beautiful though, and the sparkles fade all the way down to the bottom. If you have been thinking of getting this lipstick, I would definitely say go for it. It is extremely wearable and the formula is comfortable. The quality makes me more likely to purchase more lipsticks from this line. I have included photos of a makeup look I did while wearing this so you can see the lipstick how it looks on my lips. Sorry about the sideways photos… ever since I switched over to self hosted they are uploading like this.
