My Ideal Revival of the Disney Heroes Franchise
What you’re looking at is the official logo for a now defunct franchise known as Disney Heroes.
Disney Heroes was basically meant to serve as the sister…..or more appropriately, the brother franchise of the Disney Princesses, with the focus being placed on the male heroes of the Disney pantheon.
The franchise initially started back in 1999, but under the name of Disney Adventurers. Not only that, but the line-up was rather small, consisting of the titular protagonists of Hercules, Aladdin, Peter Pan, and their most recent film at the time, Tarzan.
The franchise mainly existed through toys, with some notable merchandising besides that here and there.
The franchise remained this way until about 2003, when it got a notable revamp.
The franchise would get its current name and it would expand the roster quite a bit. The new members included Merlin and Arthur from The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Prince Phillip from Sleeping Beauty, and Li Shang from Mulan.
I also think Simba from The Lion King was a part of the roster as well, I think I remember seeing him on a backpack done for the franchise.
But in 2005, the Disney Heroes franchise had a another revamp…this one notably different from the previous ones.
Although the franchise mainly existed through toys and play-sets that more or less stayed faithful to their respective films, these however…..
Your eyes are not deceiving you….these were actual action figures created and designed by Disney for the Disney Heroes franchise…..and I couldn’t be anymore happier.
Hercules looks like an ancient Greek warrior with the golden armor, plus he’s carrying a big xiphos and a golden shield with the face of a lion.
Peter Pan is now sporting some tan gloves, boots, and ever a mask, carrying a bow and quiver of arrows alongside his trusty dagger.
And Captain Hook has a more swashbuckling look, and his rapier has been replaced with a big ass cutlass!
Prince Phillip and Maleficent were also apart of this line-up of action figures as well.
Phillip had a more knight-like appearance, even having a helmet with a golden falcon on top.
And Maleficent…well, she was in her dragon form.
Sadly, only five action figures were made in this style….
And it’s a shame, given that there were plans to revamp the franchise with a more action-oriented style.
These designs by Disney animator Ruben Procopio for planned future figures for the franchise really highlight this…
Aladdin was gonna look like an Arabian Knight, complete with a dagger and a huge ass scimitar that would make Cloud Strife impressed.
Tarzan was gonna go for a Conan the Barbarian-esque look, complete with a headband, a vest, a tooth necklace, boots, and even a quiver filled with spears, knives, and arrows.
And as you could see, they were even gonna introduce The Beast from Beauty and the Beast as a new member of a roster, with the appearance of a warrior prince and a mace as his weapon.
Unfortunately, these figures never came to be....
Although Disney Heroes franchise was doing decently fine, it was nowhere near the level of success of the Disney Princesses.
As a result of that, Disney slowly but surely phased out the franchise over the next three years.
By 2008, the Disney Heroes franchise silently ended, only merchandising through coloring books and their only new addition since 2003 being....of all characters....Milo Thatch from Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
So yeah....that's pretty much the story of the Disney Heroes franchise.
It's honestly a shame because I could totally see this franchise being pretty successful today.
And given the rise of nostalgia and crossovers in media over the last decade, I could see this being an absolute goldmine for all parties involved.
And today, I'm gonna share on how I think a revival of the Disney Heroes franchise should play out.
.It would aim more towards a older audience, mostly teenagers, similar to the Disney Villains franchise. It wouldn't really focus all that much on toys like the Disney Princesses, though there would be some figurines here and there, instead focusing on media that's more accessible with a older crowd like novels, comic books, video games, and even animation.
.Unlike it's previous iteration, and to that extension the Disney Princesses, it would be more gender-neutral, featuring male and female representatives of most of the represented films as members of the roster.
.Also unlike the Princesses, this franchise has its own backstory. Various Disney villains have joined forces in other to further their respective goals. In retaliation, a group of various Disney heroes, led by Merlin, have united to fight against the villainous alliance and protect their respective realms. I know it's a pretty simple premise, but I think it's the perfect that way.
.The franchise will have a major focus on action and adventure....which for a franchise like this, should be expected.
.Many of the characters will be receiving redesigns in the veins of the ones done for the franchise back in 2005, which give off a fantasy warrior, almost Dungeons n' Dragons vibe. While these wouldn't be to the extent as say, Disney Mirrorverse, they would clearly by different from the characters' usual attire and makes them come off as more like warriors ready for adventure and battle.
.The series will essentially expand on the worlds of the films and bring in elements from their original source materials, official continuations like the TV shows, and even the cultures they represent.
Okay, now that we got the major elements out of the way, I'm gonna briefly share who would be apart of the roster for this new franchise, and list them in chronological order of movie release.
.Alice
.Peter Pan
.Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip
.Merlin and Arthur
.Mowgli
.Robin Hood
.Ariel and Eric
.Belle and Beast
.Aladdin and Jasmine
.Simba
.Pocahontas and John Smith
.Quasimodo
.Hercules and Megara
.Fa Mulan and Li Shang
.Tarzan and Jane Porter
.Milo Thatch and Kida Nedakh
.Jim Hawkins
.Tiana and Naveen
.Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert
.Merida
.Anna and Elsa
.Moana and Maui
Just imagine.....seeing this iconic heroes going on various adventures, from the hottest deserts to the deepest jungles. Fighting against mythical monsters, thieves, wild beasts, villainous knights, deadly invaders, mysterious spirits and swashbuckling pirates!
Anyway, that's all for now. I'm planning to go more in-depth on this idea, fleshing out the characters and their worlds.
If you have any ideas for this franchise, let me know.

i completely agree why this gets hated by others some said because it's a Fawn movie, it's the center of Fawn, everybody agrees with that it's the second least favourite movie, the younger me wondered why the focus wasn't on Tinkerbell for the first time since Fawn appeared more then Tinkerbell herself lol now that i'm older i don't have any problems having the focus on other characters than Tinkerbell, they kind of went that way in "The Pirate Fairy" but not many people noticed it because the adventure was based on each main characters (and Zarina) but the first like 10 minutes of the movie explains it all, the focus was on Zarina the older i get, the more i realize each movies are based on other characters, like we ALL know the first movie is completely focused on Tinkerbell, the next movie "The Lost Treasure" movie the focus was based on Terence (which i had strong feeling about it since the focus was either on Tinkerbell or Terence while the others were barely there) the third movie was kind of focused on Vidia (because of her redemption, taking her responsibilities and rescuing Tinkerbell, she even have more speaking roles then most of the fairies combined in this movie and she appeared more then most of the fairies) the fourth movie was focused on Periwinkle (because of winter, sister love and such) the differences with the earlier movies is Tinkerbell appeared the most and even still have most of her speaking roles, that's probably the reason i didn't thought too much of it and never went that deep untill around 2 years ago, the final movie at the other hand i already knew the first time i watched the movie all the focus was on Fawn (she learns stuff, discover things, bringing everybody in danger and saving the day by saving pixie hollow, she appeared the most and have most of the speaking roles, even more so then Tinkerbell) i don't have a problem having the focus on other characters perse, i actually love the idea of it (i do understand why some people prefer Tinkerbell over everybody else because the tittle always starts with "Tinkerbell" and the focus started with Tinkerbell) but the problems with "The Legend Of The Neverbeast" movie is Fawn is like a animal-fairy version of Tinkerbell, it's like she's copying Tinkerbell, Fawn's appearances have like completely changed, her outfit doesn't match her because it looks way TOO girly as the tomboy type (she completely lost her tomboyish side in this movie) an another problem i have in this movie is all 6 of the main characters were barely there unless it involves Gruff or dangers, Queen Clarion only appeared for like 5 minutes and wasn't seen ever since Nyx confronted Fawn in Queen Clarion's room, all of the other characters completely dissapeared (including Clank and Bobble) and why are the scout fairies there all of a sudden when they were needed in the first and possibly in the third movie too even though it's briefly? it just doesn't make sense to me the scout fairies shows up in this movie (like yeah i understand they need to keep the others safe and stuff but still, they could've appeared in the first movie with the hawk and possibly the sprinting thistles incidents) the only other characters that have showed up appeared in "The Pixie Hollow Games" short, mainly garden and animal fairies in this movie but that's just it an another problem here is: i think it's way TOO dark for a Disney movie, like most of the times the movie focused on hiding the neverbeast named Gruff just because he was a threat to other fairies except Fawn herself so Fawn had to hide Gruff from the scout fairies if Disney wants a movie based on other characters then a certain first main character, i'd say they need to do a better job at this (the first Tinkerbell movie they did a good job with the focus on Tinkerbell but also the other characters despite me liking the first movie the LEAST but atleast they balanced it quite well)
all of the mixing moments combined in 1 movie, more balanced supporter characters that actually do something, clothes that isn't out of character and NOT too dark for a movie and an another important one is learning an important lesson (i prefer adventure moments where dangers are around sometimes outside their comfort-zone too though but i think i can live without them) Tinkerbell And The Legend Of The Neverbeast is like completely out of balance except the part it's focused on other characters, i'm NOT surprised people dislikes this movie so much and i can't blame them, i hope it have taught Disney a lesson they should balance everything out in a movie

i can't believe i'm seeing this but i wished they didn't canceled it, i wouldn't mind for once if Tinkerbell's friends barely appears if it's based about Tinker academy but i do hope one day they continues with this one (i'm aware DisneyToon Studio no longer exist due to money issues and the movie not being succesful like it used to be but there are other Disney Studios that can picks it up) atleast she won't mess things up in pixie hollow for a change lol

when people refer to canon story-relevant kingdom hearts games as ‘spinoffs’ it makes me sad not only for the obvious reasons i always say but also bc like man i WISH this series had spinoffs. imagine what they could do if they had permission from nomura to truly go off the rails and ignore the greater canon for a second and just do some fun whimsical plotless thing in an alternate universe. imagine a fishing/boating game on destiny islands. kh fighting game. it is an injustice that we have been deprived of kingdom karts. can anyone hear me
#in terms of alternate gameplay and lack of reliance on plot#i feel like melody of memory is the closest thing kh has actually had to a spinoff#but even that is important in its own way in the end#union cross to a certain degree as well what with being an online multiplayer gacha type game#its original concept i would definitely classify as a spinoff game#bc it was set in a totally different world and time period and was supposed to be about customization and fun with friends#and nomura or someone said it wasn’t meant to be connected to the plot#but then like. he did very much go and give it a plot. like he went back on that almost immediately#and even then. given that the game is still very much combat and exploration#even from the beginning can it really be called a spinoff? it’s just kh in a different format#i’m talking like a game in which the objective is something totally different.#racing game or cooking game or fighting game or (another) rhythm game#ace attorney style detective game. dancing game. dude i don’t know#there are so many different flavors they could go with here#alas nomura is allergic to genuine whimsy which is hilarious given that this is a disney series#like he apparently was like ‘ohhh should we really let sora in smash? would it make sense in the story?’#my brother in christ surely we’re not supposed to interpret this as canon to kh right? right????#i guess it’s just that the kh franchise has a very specific pristine vibe he wants to maintain#which is disney shenanigans as a seasoning on top of a main dish of Stone Cold Serious Anime Plot#kingdom hearts#kh#mine: kh

i SO agree with everything, Terence's relationships is possibly the healthiest to Tinkerbell like he does everything even if he have to risk his life and rules by doing so, he genuinely really cares for her, he keeps her spirits up when she's down or frustrated, he keeps the situation as a secret, doing lots of damage control and covered everything up, he's the reason Tinkerbell decided to stay in pixie hollow TWICE, he's more concerned for Tinkerbell then everything else, he protects her at all cost, Tinkerbell is possibly his first and only friend from all of the fairies in pixie hollow (he's probably shy towards others but NOT when Tinkerbell is around) this is definitely a green flag if you ask me
Probably, someone already pointed it out long ago, but I just wanted to talk about one thing. I just love how Terence just genuinely loves Tink and all the things he does for her, he does because he loves her, not because he wants to win the girl or get her attention. He just genuinely loves her and wants her to be happy! :')
That’s so true! It’s one of my favorite things about their relationship: the love Terence has for Tink is selfless and everlasting

the fact that reboots used to be like thirty or forty years apart and are now instead like 3-10 years apart is absolutely ridiculous. like are we so trapped in a capitalist hellscape that instead of us naturally cherishing a beloved piece of media like it deserves and looking forward to NEW stories with NEW universes we have to watch the same thing over and over and over again with reboot after reboot after reboot until that media has been so sucked dry that us as an audience are literally sick at the mere mention of it
#harry potter#harry potter tw#avatar the last airbender#disney#disney movies#it’s the same thing with disney and atla and now harry potter#like deathly hallows came out in 2010!!!!!!! why do we need an entire fuckin series reboot???#besides being able to generate more cash from an already billion dollar franchise?????#I don’t want a retelling of harry fucking potter!!!!!!!! think of something new!!!!!!

The Disney Heroes Franchise: Slight Revision and Meet the Heroes (Part 1)
As I'm sure many of know, I made a post a little over a year ago about my idea on how I would revival the forgotten Disney franchise, Disney Heroes.
To this day, it's undoubtedly my biggest and most popular post.
If you want to check it out for yourselves.
At the end of that post, I promised to go more in-depth on my idea.
But for a long time, I've had trouble trying to continue the idea.
Largely thanks to stuff like focusing on my writing, college, etc.
But now since I'm free for the summer, I'm in a franchise mood.
So I'm back to continue my idea!
To start this off, I wanted to mention that although my original concept and idea for the franchise still stands, there is one change I decided to make.
And that's to the roster.
Essentially, the roster now is both bigger and smaller.
Basically, similar to other franchises, Disney Heroes will have Waves, with each one introducing new characters and locations to its brand.
Essentially, these next few posts about Disney Heroes will be focused on the hypothetical First Wave.
As for the movies that would be represented in the first wave, this would include all the films that were represented in the original franchise.
Those films being:
-Hercules
-Aladdin
-Peter Pan
-Tarzan
-The Sword in the Stone
-Robin Hood
-Sleeping Beauty
-Mulan
-Atlantis: The Lost Empire
As for our roster of heroes specifically, we have Merlin, Li Shang, Fa Mulan, Mushu, Yao, Ling and Chien Po, Hercules, Megara, Philoctetes, Pegasus, Aladdin, Jasmine, Abu, Iago, Magic Carpet, Genie, Tarzan, Jane Porter, Professor Porter, Terk, Tantor, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy, Michael and John Darling, The Lost Boys, Arthur, Archimedes, Robin Hood, Little John, Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, Princess Aurora, Prince Phillip, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather, Milo Thatch, Kida Nedakh, Dr. Sweet, Vinny, Audrey, Moliere, Cookie and Ms. Packard.
As I mentioned in my initial post, they were all brought together by Merlin after he found out about their respective villains deciding to team up together to further their goals. So now it’s up to the Disney Heroes to thwart their the villains’ plans and protect their respective realms.
Their headquarters is in Merlin, Arthur and Archimedes’ home-realm of Camelot, specifically in their castle they acquired at the end of their film.
But now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about the actual heroes themselves, starting off with....
Merlin:
The founder of the Disney Heroes, the ever-wise powerful wizard of Camelot, and frequent time traveler.
Merlin is basically the guy in the chair, similar to Oracle and Professor Xavier (though not literally as those two).
He’s the one who sends our heroes on their missions and keeps in touch with them while on said mission to inform them what they’re up against.
But despite that, Merlin is one of the most powerful members of the team, being a master sorcerer.
As for his outfit, it would look like this...
Archimedes:
You can't have Merlin around without his trusty owl!
He's usually hangs with Merlin and helps out with keeping in touch with the heroes.
And by keeping in touch, I mean he'll usually be throwing shade at them, much to Merlin's dismay.
As for his looks, he pretty much looks exactly the same as he usually does.
Li Shang:
Next we come to leader of the Disney Heroes since let's be real, out of this group, Shang is undoubtedly the most qualified to lead.
He's a skilled strategist and tactician, skilled in various martial arts, and fights with a gun (a type of staff used in ancient China) and a bow and arrows.
As for his outfit, Shang would wearing the exact same thing he had from the D23 Folktale Figurines Series, but with the addition of his father's helmet.
Hercules:
Next we come to one of the four heroes that start off the original franchise.
Hercules is the muscle of the team, thanks to his god-like strength.
In addition to being skilled in hand-to-hand combat and wrestling, he also fights with the Lightning Sword and Lion Shield.
Both of which were forged by Hephaestus, the former is a sword with a lightning bolt-shaped blade that can emit powerful electricity, and the latter is a golden shield with the face of a lion.
As for his looks, Hercules would be wearing the same outfit from the short-lived revamp during the original franchise's run.
Pegasus:
And what's a demi-god without his trusty flying steed?
Pegasus is able to fly at incredible speeds, allowing his rider to get to their desired location in the nick of time.
He's also decently strong, since he is, ya know, a horse.
As for his looks, they would be pulled from his Lorcana card.
Aladdin:
Here we have another member of the original four!
Aladdin is essentially one of the speed fighters of the team, thanks to his impressive speed and agility.
Plus the fact that he’s incredibly stealthy doesn’t hurt either.
In addition to that, Aladdin is also a skilled swordsman, fighting with a huge magical scimitar that given to him by Genie that can cut through just about anything.
He also carries a dagger with him for back-up just in case he can’t use his scimitar at the moment.
As for his looks, Aladdin would be wearing the same outfit he was suppose to wear for for the short-lived revamp.
Abu:
And what’s a street rat without his trusty monkey.
Abu essentially wears the same type of fez, vest and waist cloth like Aladdin, with the first two having the same color scheme as his usual outfit.
As you expect from a monkey, he’s incredibly quick, agile and nimble.
But that’s not all, because just like his buddy, Abu’s got…
youtube
(This was the best one I could find….)
Peter Pan:
We've come to the third member of the original four.
Peter is another one of the team's speed fighters, thanks to his ability of flight.
He also carries a variety of weapons on him, including a bow and arrows, a tomahawk, and of course, his trusty dagger.
Peter also utilizes his living shadow in battle, which he'll have as a tag-team of sorts.
As for his looks, Peter would be wearing the same outfit from the short-lived revamp as well.
Tinker Bell:
And you can't have Peter Pan without his trusty fairy companion.
Tinker Bell is the pure definition of small but mighty.
In spite of how small she is, she's strong enough to pick up a full grown human and throw them.
But in addition to her power of flight and producing pixie dust, Tinker Bell's true power lies in her mind.
Being carried over from her solo films, she's a tinkerer, creating a variety of weapons and gadgets to help her in battle.
Her most prominent weapon is a crossbow that she shoots stuff like nails and thorns with.
As for her looks, they'll be pulled from this Lorcana card.
Tarzan:
We've finally come to the final member of the original four!
Tarzan is one of the most well-rounded members of the team.
He possesses above-average strength, speed, agility and endurance.
Tarzan also utilizes a variety of weapons, including his bare hands, a spear, a knife, a bow and arrow, and even a vine lasso.
As for his looks, Tarzan would be wearing the same outfit he was suppose to wear for for the short-lived revamp.
Arthur:
Coming to The Sword in the Stone characters, we've arrived to the main protagonist of that film and one of the main heroes to start off the second wave of the original franchise.
Arthur may be one of the newbies of the team (since he's one of the youngest members), but he's notslouch in combat.
Thanks to some training from his foster father Sir Ector and the some of the other Heroes, Arthur has become a decently skilled swordman, wielding the legendary sword of Excalibur alongside a trusty shield in battle.
As for his looks, they would be pulled from this Lorcana card.
Robin Hood:
Here we have another main hero of the original second wave.
Robin Hood specializes in attacking enemies from afar with his trusty longbow and arrows.
But can also get close and personal with his sword.
As for his looks, Robin would be wearing the same outfit from the Folktale Figurines Series as well.
Prince Phillip:
Now we've come to the final member of the second wave.
Prince Phillip is one of best close-range fighters, being a skilled swordman and all.
In battle, he utilizes the enchanted Shield of Virtue (which can block and deflect just about any kind of magical attack) and Sword of Truth (which can slice through just about anything).
As for his looks, Phillip would be wearing the same outfit from the short-lived revamp as well.
Milo Thatch:
Here we have the final member to be introduced to the original franchise.
Milo is a perfect mix-between a ranged and physical fighter.
He'll fight from afar with a pair of mystical Atlantean boomerangs (with one being able to emit fire, while the other emits ice), but he'll also fight up-close with an Atlantean spear.
As for his looks, they would be pulled from this Lorcana card.
Well that's all for now.
I know some of you are wondering why I didn't cover everybody else.
Well I figured since there are so many members, it would be better to split this into parts so it doesn't become too long.
But for the heroes I did cover, you're probably wondering why I didn't got into their characters. Well that's because they're pretty much the same as they were in their respective films, so there isn't really a whole lot to go over in that department.
But I am planning on doing a post where I discuss some of the relationships among the team.
I hope you guys enjoy this post and let me know what you guys think about it!

is it just me thinking "Tinkerbell And The Great Fairy Rescue" should've take place in Fall instead of Summer?
i mean look at this? Summer? call it rather Fall with this weather, it literally rains most of the times, this match more with Fall to be honest but maybe it's just me i love how Tink's friends needs to make a plan in the middle of the bad weathers even if they can't fly to the house to rescue Tinkerbell, hell apparently even (especially) Vidia seems to think it's a waste of time to wait until it's dry to save Tinkerbell (she was very impatient when Clank and Bobble came with a plan to go on a mission outside fairy camp so they can go to the human house in the middle of the rain since she asked kind of in a irritating way to the 2 Tinker fairies what they were talking about) knowing how she is with her talent and stuff and for the way how she dealt with everything in the first movie, i'm surprised she wanted to get involved with everything, including rescuing Tinkerbell from the humans knowing she was gonna take the risk with the chances she gets captured in the process, she took the chance without even thinking about her own (Vidia clearly was putting everything including her pride, the hate on Tinkerbell and her talent aside during a mission to save Tinkerbell) the weather match with the mission from Tink's friends to rescue Tinkerbell while dealing with their struggles (from waterfalls up to the cat attack and from Vidia saving Tinkerbell up to Tinkerbell saving Vidia) Vidia deals with the struggles the most from everybody and i life for the struggles in the movies (poor Vidia she's innocent with all this and didn't asked for any of it...well except she wanted to rescue Tinkerbell) the weather is like nothing like Summer, like i said in my previous post, the movie should stay the same like it is now but the seasons should be switched with the second movie
