moana being immortal now really fucks me up like you're telling me she's going to watch simea grow up and older than her? I'm supposed to be normal about the fact that moana will never return to the sea, to her ancestors, the way everyone she knows and loves will? you mean to say that someday maui will be her only companion, the only one in her life who won't grow old and die? am i understanding correctly that death, originally her biggest obstacle, is now just pretty much off the table for her?

Patupaiarehe (also known as turehu or pakepakeha) are supernatural beings in Maori mythology. They represent the non-human world, being either demons, spirits of the dead, or guardians of New Zealand's forests and grasses.

They are described as pale or light-skinned creatures with blond or red hair. They are usually no different in height from humans and never have tattoos. Patupaiarehe attract fog and are primarily nocturnal or active on foggy days, as direct sunlight is deadly to them. They prefer raw food and have an aversion to steam and fire. They can be hostile to humans, especially those who invade their territory, sometimes kidnapping women.

Patupaiarehe live in dense forests and hilly or mountainous areas, and are able to appear in the human world, often bringing evil and destruction.

In the future, I would like to draw mini-comics with similar characters, since I really miss their lore.

A series based on Moana was planned, but it was cancelled at the last minute.

Damn, I would give anything to watch a series in addition to the cartoons, at least 8 episodes, but telling in more detail about the structure of their world, what creatures inhabit it, how different magic works, etc. 🙏🏼 Yeah, I would roll my lip, I want too much, so I'll try to draw something myself.
