My 1st entry for Wayfinder February - a Moana/Maui shipper event Finding Ohana - Chapter 1: The Impossible Sister

Simea’s temper tantrums are ruining her sister’s life. With social services breathing down her neck, Moana needs a miracle. Enter Maui, the only guy in Hawaii willing to help these two sisters out. They might not know it yet, but all their lives are about to change for the better as Moana and Maui fall in love.

He bit his lip as he tried to figure out a plan of action, but he didn’t have any allies left to ask for help - all he had was Moana and her people.  “We could go back to Motunui,” he said softly, and Moana looked at him with wide eyes.  After he’d been the one so eager to leave on this mission, it was surprising that he was the one that now wanted to return home.  “Really?” she asked, trying not to sound too hopeful but failing at that. He smiled. “Really. And on the way there, let’s make sure we practice your new power. Make sure we’re ready for whenever Nalo does show up.”  Moana’s eyes lit up. She loved the idea of going home - especially with him by her side - and she got up to embrace him, hugging him tightly.  “Thank you,” she whispered, and his smile wavered slightly while she could not see. She was so attached to her people - so happy to be returning home - that he wondered if maybe he had been wrong to separate her from Motunui for as long as he had.

Just a small post, but if you see me unfollow you despite the fact we've been mutuals for many years, it's probably due to too much politics on my dashboard. It's definitely nothing personal - in fact, I'm probably on your side.

I'm as anti-Trump as the rest of you and I fucking hate his guts. But all the politics stuff is making me anxious and for my own mental health, I don't wanna see too much of it. And my tumblr dash has been blowing up with activism posts and everything the orange turd and his friend the muskrat says or does that makes people go surprised pikachu face.

I can't deal with that for another four years. I'll see some posts anyways, that's just how tumblr is - but I want my dashboard to show fandoms for the majority, not politics. And the past month has been really bad in that regard, in that I'm constantly doomscrolling (not what I signed up for) instead of heart-eyeing gifsets of my comfort characters and such.

So yeah, if I unfollow you - don't take it personal. And if reblogging all the politics stuff makes you feel better, definitely keep doing it. We all have our own ways of coping.

So excited! Posting a new fanfiction in a few days (one chapter every few days) - I have yet to find the perfect name for it, but it's a Lilo and Stitch inspired Moana AU. Though there's no Stitch. (Though some that read it have argued that Maui is Stitch) (I think he's more of the David but whatever) Anyways, sorry for the rant, YAY Wayfinder February let's goooo!

Wayfinder February has arrived! During this month, shippers will post art and fanfics (and more) to delight the rest of the fandom with celebrations of platonic and romantic love between Maui and Moana, sometimes through canon interpretations, sometimes in AUs... Each day holds something new!

Our creators are following a schedule which makes it so that you have one thing to admire or read per day. We want to encourage you to also like, reblog and comment on these creative works. Fandom is community, but community only happens when people interact with one another.
