transsexual intentions
i was made transsexual for the same reason i was made a storyteller:
to create and expand.
my body is divine, ever fluctuating,
my soul is constantly beginning anew.
i was made transsexual to flourish,
to tangle my roots and my limbs with humanity,
to face entropy with radical joy.
every day i will choose love and community
and live in solidarity with the body that has been given to me
piece originally written for a zine centered around trans community support as an affirmation for transnesss. because of the internet's lack of penchant for media literacy, i want to acknowledge that my relationship to transness is not going to be the same as anyone else's. this is based on my experience.

RIGHT TO READ and UNITED AGAINST BOOK BANS
Censorship threatens our right to read—and that threatens us all. Books lift us, connect us, inspire us; they make us question, research, and make our own choices. We can’t let that be taken away. I’m a historian who writes about the Nazi book burning—about how censorship was used to take away the rights of #transgender #lgbtq and minorities, resulting in attacks on #immigrants, Jews, homosexuals, #women, trans, Romani, and #disabled people. It’s not many steps from banning books to burning them—so: Make you voice heard! Today, I’m participating in #RightToReadDay with other authors, readers, and community members across the country. Safeguarding our freedom to read requires all of us - learn how you can take action:

You've got the paranormal and/or mystery gay disasters.
You've got the I'm figuring things out queers.
Tumblr media
You've got the what the f*ck did I just read horror babes. (Who are, you guessed it, queer)
Tumblr media
You've got kids versus gender and/or neurodivergencies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You've got queer witches finding themselves, and love.
You've got gorgeous worlds cheering on even more beautiful romances.
Tumblr media
You've got people who will do anything for those they love, no matter the distance.
Tumblr media
You've got epic stories with stabby characters, and a lot of sailing.
Tumblr media
You've got the mutants, the weirdos who know they have to break things to truly fix them.

Ya'll ever just come up with the most brilliant mini plot twist ever and realize that you're a genius because you also just accidentally laid the groundwork of a believable ploy to confuse the reader as to what's happening in the chapters you wrote before you knew what the plot twist was, and it all makes sense? Just me, ok.

Is there a dream fanfiction project you've always wanted to tackle but haven't had the chance to yet?
Actually, uh, yeah, I do! I even have an esoteric title!
The dream project is called "a wonder and a terror", in reference to Keanu Reeve's answer for how it feels to grow old. I want to go back and revisit most of the worlds I used to visit in fanfic. That would include Final Fantasy 7, Sorcerer Hunters, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Hellsing, Slayers, Gensoumaden Saiyuki, Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Trigun, Gargoyles, and Generation X--aaaaaaaaall stuff I once obsessed over.
The thing is, I was writing/reading fic for those works when I was a teenager. And most of these works also feature teenagers, or very young adults. In a lot of cases, these shows are literally about child soldiers, or extremely young/inexperienced adults being forced to take on The Good Of The World.
The theme I'd take on in all these fics will be threefold:
What happens to child soldiers when the war ends and they grow up?
What happens to folks who thought they'd die on the battlefield who live long enough to experience aging?
What happens to characters who became powerful/famous under one gender identity who try to transition?
In addition to flipping characters' genders or their cis status, I plan on doing a LOT related to characters having chronic disabilities, physical as well as mental. And there will be a lot of shipping, many of it for ships I never explicitly wrote for in the past. (Specifically, I'm very glad that Barret/Cloud's time has come 'round at last.)
Some fics are already released on my account. "Entering King" is where I introduce the idea of trans man!Sanzo, which ties into some of the stuff I wanted to do for the Gensoumaden Saiyuki fics. My Gen X work is going to take place in the same canon already established here. Not a lot has been completed yet, but I do hold out hope that I'll get there!

okay so, i have an idea for a webtoon, but im deadly scared of putting myself out there sO
WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED ON A WEBTOON WITH:
1920s aesthetic/ setting
Everyone is gay cuz I said so
A blind & trans serial killer as the antagonist & love interest
A queer mafia counselor as the MC
Supernatural & Fae shenanigans later on
Enemies to lovers with a tad of catholic symbolism (cuz i have religious trauma)
"We can't be together, you're a man!" "...I appreciate the trans allyship but this is getting kinda ridiculous"
Overthrowing the Mafia's head as a (found) family bonding activity
2 sapphic side couples (that I'd heavily consider giving side stories to, if shit goes well)
yea, I think those are the major selling points!!
OH also, there would be a few TW (it is a mafia/serial killer romance after all, tis bound to have a few cw), HOWEVER: there will be no dub-con or non-con scenes.
Thought i should point this out as a selling point, since I cannot seem to find a good darker-themed story without it
So worry not!! if this idea does leave my head, it will be all consensual shit!! even if the consensual shit is a bit very kinky cuz they're both kinky mfs

Whelp, time to get those books before they're banned! Please support queer, disabled, and BIPOC authors right now. Buy physical editions whenever possible, since digital access can be removed at any time.
And if you can't BUY books, then there's still ways to help us authors out. Boosting posts, writing/sharing reviews, and checking out our books from the library (even if you don't read them). Checking out books through digital services like Hoopla gives us a small royalty each time, and it also helps libraries when it comes to funding and what they're more likely to add to the collection.
Please considering adding my books to your collection and/or checking them out at the library: AuthorCaseyWolfe.carrd.co

The Kind of Dreams That Lead to This
Viktor had been having a very particular type of dream, the kind where you wake up craving the touch of a lover. The way the sensitive skin of his thighs touched each other, the gentle shifting of the fabric of his boxers against his dick, was just enough to leave him breathing a little heavier and only served to increase the slick heat between his thighs.
In which Viktor wakes up from a dream and Jayce gives him what he needs.
Paring: Jayce/Viktor (Arcane)
Rating: Explicit
Word Count: 3359
Tags: Gentle Sex, Vaginal Fingering, Grinding, Cunnilingus, Porn with Feelings, Trans Viktor, Trans Jayce, Author is Trans, Soft Smut

i ragequit reading helen lewis' article about trans kids in the Atlantic today at the point where she drops the factoid that phalloplasty has a 75% complication rate without additional details, in a context where this factoid is used to make trans surgeries seem overly dangerous.
i am not linking to her article, but if you do want to find it, go in knowing that lewis' ultimate thesis (that gender clinics are too quick to prescribe puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries to kids) rests on misrepresenting statistics, science and how gender clinics actually work, and she presents her position against puberty blockers and hormones for minors as concern for trans kids. she claims that the science of the side effects and psychological outcomes aren't known. she wants "more research."
i think this is total bullshit.
(my reaction and response to what i did read is under the readmore)
i want to remind everyone that a 75% complication rate tells you nothing about what types of complications occur or how major they are. it also is presented without comparison to any other surgery. only briefly is it mentioned that phalloplasty is never performed on minors, though lewis seems to imply that some people want it to be available to minors, which is a position i have literally never encountered outside of straw arguments. phalloplasty is an extremely difficult surgery and is often done in stages—i'd wager that literally any surgery that involves lengthening or reconstruction of the urethra, which is a very delicate structure, has a high complication rate. but that doesn't matter when we're talking about bodily autonomy. people choose surgeries with high complication rates all the time without a moral panic.
data cannot liberate trans people: a feature of experimentation is that absolute certainty is impossible—scientists must decide when there is enough data to justify certainty, but there is always some room to doubt a conclusion or to interpret numbers differently. it is not possible for science to demonstrate what values we should have; that is outside the domain of what we can measure. and there will always be people who insist more data is needed, who are willing to dangle the sword of damocles over trans people's heads until the end of time, because they do not fundamentally value the bodily autonomy of children, or of trans people of any age.
"we need more research" in this case is code for "i do not care about the large body of evidence about the safety profile of puberty blockers and bioidentical hormones, about how we can mitigate long term side effects of blockers, about the fact that getting prescribed hormones at a first appointment almost always implies that the trans person has spoken with a psychotherapist and had recent blood work beforehand somewhere else, about the actual rates of trans surgery regret in comparison to other surgeries, about how slow changes actually happen on hormones, about the fact that trans surgeries are almost never performed on minors, or about the well-being of children who know themselves well enough that they express that their endogenous puberty will cause them harm." it's never about science. it's about control.

Introduction!
Tumblr media
Hello! I´m Percival and I´m hoping to publish my own fantasy book. I´ve been working on this story for many years and I expect it´ll take a few more before it´s ready to publish. The story will revolve around three queer main characters and dragons, saving an elder dragon and defeating evil. It's about helping when you don't have to.
If that sounds at all interesting, I would appreciate if you´d follow along! once I´ve finished writing and editing this book, I´m planning to sell hardcover versions, but I will also publish it online entirely for free!
If you have any questions, I´d be happy to answer ^^
(this post will be edited with more info as i figure out what i should add)
EDIT:
If you are interested in getting a dm or E-mail to inform you when the book is published, please contact me! It will be available digitally for free or in hard-cover for a price.

Obligatory life and writing update:
As some of you know, outside of tumblr I'm an author. My debut children's book The Pronoun Book: She, He, They and Me came out in 2021 and I guess I haven't posted much about my professional writing here since. Whoops!
So here's the news you missed:
Not long after The Pronoun Book released I self-published two poetry chapbooks (Spirals and Ladders and letters i will never send) both of which are available in print and ebook mostly on Amazon but they sporadically seem to pop up on Books-A-Million and Waterstones. At some plan I plan to add these to nook, kobo, and other ebook platforms, but I don't have an ETA on that yet.
Then in August 2023, I released a follow up to The Pronoun Book called The Gender Book: Girls, Boys, Non-binary and Beyond. (Not to be confused with The Gender Book by Hunter Rook and Jay Mays which is is also great and worthy of praise)
But while I was writing The Gender Book, there was just too much content to fit in, so my editor suggested creating a whole new book just about culturally specific gender identities such as Two Spirit, mahu, and hijras. We found a Two Spirit illustrator named Moe Butterfly to work with and soon My Culture, My Gender, Me was born.
So all this to say, if you feel like supporting the work of a disabled genderqueer author, then hi, it's nice to meet you! My name's Cassandra.

There are few things worse, I think, than reading a call to action memoir that is so close to right but really should have been shelved for at least 5yrs before going to print so the author has time to learn enough to see all the false equivalencies that really hinder the point
#personal;#yeah fatphobia is bad but dont you dare act like people aren't asking disabled people to medically alter themselves every day???#you compare bariatric and gender affirming surgeries in such a way that makes the latter sound easy to get??#and in fact don't at ALL go into the struggles for transition care except for a nod at FL while comparing us (trans people)#to fat people like our lives are Much Easier instead of /oppressed by the same white colonial structures that enforce fatphobia/#but go off i guess#i was giving a lot of leeway when i was just side eyeing the comparisons with racism bc i'm not fat and i've not experienced enough racism#to say either way on those#but the MOMENT she started using trans and disabled comparisons i about lost it#and also randomly started calling it antisemitic (sure as much as it's violnt to all poc) in the last chapter with nothing supporting it#like you can tell it was written over the course of the last like 2 maybe 3 years without enough space to breathe#i have listened to a book on writing memoir so often i've got some of it all but memorized#and i agree that if it's more recent than a decade you're probably too close to be writing it#and this author's writing mostly about during pandemic times. this is more a journal and call to action than memoir#but its not polished enough to be a proper call to action bc there's not much it gives you to do other than 'stop dieting & dare to be fat'#which isn't an effective call to action when only those most harmed by fatphobia can act on it you know???#lots of complaints#3/10#edit: reiterting that i'm not saying it'#*it's not anti-semitic; just that a good published work of this kind doesn't make last second claims and certainly not ones#they haven't already explicitly supported in the text#i feel the need to clarify with the very very vocal rise of anti semitism esp in the left#like yes there are anti-Semitic ties. she didn't name them. just said 'they exist lol' and this went to print#great study in poor research slipping onto shelves bc topic matter is relevant
