used @adorkastock pose from the second day of #DrawEverythingJune2024, drawing Thiala Raethran, the chronically ill rogue partner of my dnd character, Jol, though they are known to Thiala only as their tiefling skin Reverence, and not their true changeling form.

i cant be the only one disappointed that Grover wasn't shown as a mobility aid user. i recognize why they might cut that part out- people pretending to be disabled to hide their powers is a harmful trope- but i was So Excited to see someone using crutches on tv who is shown to be strong and capable. often the only physically disabled characters we are given are wheelchair users, so it's a bit disappointing that the pjo tv series seems to be following that trend so far
#give grover his crutches#the thing is#in ways he *is* disabled#in order to walk as society expects his body to#he would need an aide#be it custom orthotics (as in the book) or crutches (as in the movie)#:(#thanks for the wheelchair users in this (like the archer!!! hell yeah!!!)#but i want to see other disabilities represented#percy jackson#pjo#percy jackson and the olympians#grover underwood#grover pjo#grover

I sat for quite a bit of Cincinnati tho
#sat for the archer#then I always sit during the interludes#and then tis the damn season and part of champagne problems and part of tolerate it#also part of enchanted and part of ikywt and then atw10#then for part of cardigan and part of blank space#and for some of mastermind#all of this to say#don’t feel bad if your body wants you to sit#it’s better to sit then to pass out or hurt yourself#and my body still fucking hurts today#it doesn’t make you any less of a fan#not my fault my joints weren’t out together properly and I have fainting issues#even with all that and eating and drinking I was still super nauseous for forty minutes in the car on the way home#from the bass#happy disability pride month#don’t let anyone shame you for sitting

Our last session of the zombie apocalypse mini series (dubbed 'Medrow') allowed me to have THE coolest and most badass character moment I've ever had.
Thank you @eberronm for the amazing experience. I can't wait to revisit the world of Medrow.
More context below:
My arcane archer got bit on the arm during our fight with the BBEG and I motherfucking cut that arm off. Saved her from becoming a zombie and potentially hindering our travel back to town. Our efforts help develop a cure for the blight vein and Cynthia couldn't care less that she's missing 1 limb.
Crossbow expert and arcane archer was such a a nutty combination. Shooting an arrow while a zombies attached to your arm at the BBEG, and curve shotting the second shot to kill the zombo after was such an amazing moment HAHAH.
Now my badass centaur can retire and teach others like she did before. And train herself in trying to draw arrows with her mind.
I love the idea of her overcoming the amputation by channeling her arcane archer magic and using her left arm to draw her bow like a phantom arm. She would not want a prosthetic. And kind of hates the attention she was gathering when they got back to town.
"it's no big deal. I'm alive. That's all that matters"
I'll never make a character cooler than Cynthia

Think I'm really starting to feel some small effects of archery. Shot six arrows every round today for the first time and my shoulders don't feel as fatigued. My hips and lower sides are still noticeablely aching but I don't think that's really going to change much unfortunately. Im still hurting but honestly todays been one of the better days. I think I did alright!
#25 off the first half of my 252#not bad at all#shooting outside is definitely harder but I think Im finally getting the hang of it#couple more weeks and I might have my first badge 👀 [eyes emoji]#archery#disabled archer

wish i didnt have 'playing soulslike games wrong' and 'misassigning all my skill points' syndrome aside from just having a general skill issue in those games, because theyre genuinely super fun games with interesting worlds but they're soooo frustrating when i play them
#watched revscarecrows dark souls 2 playthrough#and he just used ranged weapons half the time!!#it wouldnt even have occured to me to use a ranged weapon because i wasnt doing an archer build!!!!! i didnt know that was a valid option#im somehow so resistant to trying new weapons 'correctly' that i was using my starter weapon cane in bloodborne towards the end#because nothing else seemed to deal any damage!?#when i tried to replay sekiro it was so frustrating i cried and had to stop because it was just too much#i really wanna try lies of p but im scared it will just make me feel bad despite probably being a super cool fun game#the demo gave me vertigo because of the camera too so i might wanna check if you can disable the weird camera smoothing#every time i replay dark souls 1 i brickwall at ornstein and smough and need to overlevel to overcome them. probably because my levels went#into the wrong stats even though i try a bit different each time#jeady rambles#wow this was a long ramble. hi people who read unnecesseraly long tag ramblings. love you :3

Ableists when they see a disabled person:
#weedeater#this is in reference to one of archer's posts#where he asked people to stop telling disabled people to smoke weed#and some absolute fuckwads decided to do exactly that and started telling disabled people to smoke weed#like how the fuck do you miss the point of someones post that badly omg#point is literally stop telling disabled people to smoke weed#either they've already tried it and it didn't work or they can't try it because it'll fuck em up even worse#srsly stfu

this season is even more stressful when you remember Archer’s autistic-coded, like this whole arc is very much about disability politics on several levels

Writers of Super-Good-Guy-Crew:
*write a disabled character who uses a wheelchair to get around*
*cast this character as The Guy Who Mainly Stays Behind A Computer*
Me, turning to face the camera, pointing a thumb at the writers:
“guy’s never heard of the paralympics!”
#like cmon disabled people can be weightlifters and archers too dude#writing#my thoughts#writeblr#writing disability#this feels slightly similar to the phenomenon of black superheroes always having lightning powers for some reason lol
