does anyone have any resources on late 1700s/Early 1800s canes or physical disability aids?

Hi. My doctors diagnosed me with diffused AMPS after running one physical exam and asking some questions. Looking online, apparently the only difference between this and fibromyalgia is fatigue and brain fog and headaches- but fatigue and headaches and brain fog are also considered symptoms of AMPS?
The doctors INSISTED this wasn't fibromyalgia at all and shut me down every time I called it that. What the fuck is going on? Why does AMPS exist as a diagnosis? What's the difference between it and fibromyalgia? Pleaase if anyone can explain it'd be very appreciated . I'm so confused and really trying not to assume the worst

is there a symbol for psychosis/psychosis awareness? I'm thinking similar to the autism infinity sign. asking because I'm going to draft up some patch ideas for my jacket and im considering adding one for that as I am like 90% certain my Various Delusions fall under that umbrella. if they don't then I won't but I am generally curious. does the disability flag encompass everything or are there symbols for various individual issues too?

um ok. asking abt this again bc situations in which it would be nice to know are coming up so.
does anyone know how to... know if we have a brain injury/brain damage?
we have a few reasons to believe we might, but we have no clue how to determine whether we do or not.
one of our most common ways of self harming involves banging the backo f thr bodys head against the wall. we aren't really able to stop sh'ing this way for reasons so we would appreciate an answer that doesn't chastise us for this
also we've had covid once? twice? I think at least twice? we arent sure though but we know that can cause brain damage as well.
we've also had mild concussions at least onnce?
we have symptoms but we aren't sure if they are just our other disabilities (ocd, anxiety, dpdr?, autism?, adhd?, I forgot teh others?) combining in particular ways or like actual brain damage symptoms
if anyone has any info (especially from a mad liberation, anti-psych, anti-phys, not reliant on help from doctors/family/friends/etc) perspective, it would be v much appreciated

Question!
So, if denied mobility aids through insurance, what are other ways/routes everyone takes to acquire them? (Or do you just go without?!)
Thank you!

What qualifies for sight aids?
I'm not legally blind but my eyesight has continued to degrade to a point where I'm nervous I might become legally blind. But ofc, I'm not legally blind. Not right now. But it's so hard to focus and see still and I want to know at what point does eyesight degradation become a disability that needs an aid beyond glasses?

when i tell my therapist im scared im not capable of living independently they say
"but you ARE living independently you are doing it right now! dont sell yourself short you can do this!"
I'm really struggling to tell if they are right or not because i am not living. i am surviving. but maybe i'm giving up too soon. how do i tell if i really cant do something or if im just being pessemistic. i could do it if i just had more energy but i dont so im not. so therefore i cant do it? but i really could if i just got up and did it?
i really do want to be independent i want it so badly but that doesnt change the reality of the situation.
im curious if anyone has any input. maybe i should try and hype myself up maybe i only cant do it cuz i dont beleive in myself. or maybe from an outside perspective its obvious my therapist is being unrealistic.

Can you have functional neurological disorder/conversion disorder without having severe episodes? As in, your symptoms appear as a general baseline rather than sharp peaks?

Question for Deaf or other people who rely on subtitles in games: Is is better to describe the sound something is making, or the action that has occurred? I'm currently helping my partner make a mod to add subtitles to a game we play, and I use subtitles but I'm also hearing, so I'm not sure my answer is the best necessarily.
Example of what we're working with: You place down a door, the door makes a sound Possible subtitle: "door thuds" or "door placed"
Additional question, for things like music and mood-setting things like ambient noise, how should those be subtitled? As I'm not entirely sure how to make a subtitle that accurately depicts intense dramatic sound effects - so far what I have are things like "Bell Tolls" "Dramatic Rumbling", but these are usually background noises and not from something actually happening, so I'm not sure how to distinguish that these are background noises

To hard of hearing people/anyone in general who struggles with this: I have a question that's been bothering me for a few years fgdv
How do y'all deal with doors? They have been the bane of my existence whenever someone is trying to get my attention when my door is closed (can't hear them) or when I'm trying to get someone else's attention when their door is closed (can't hear if they respond)
Do y'all have any tricks/methods/stuff that you've found helps? :00

…If you happen to have a speech impediment, is customer service (or any job where you have to talk to people all day) real hard in that regard?
