hi! just saw your post from a few months ago about loop earplugs and was wondering how you ended up liking them? i need something less bulky than my headphones and they look promising.
hope you’re having a lovely day :)
The earbuds do soften background noise fairly well :D Lots of different size options which I liked! It has a cute lil lasso to for hooking onto other objects <3 I have not used the earplugs in public many times Cons / Negatives Personally, I found the earplugs initially to be overwhelming c: The bud piece was difficult to ignore for my brain Also it caused my tinnitus to be much louder I also don't like that I hear my own voice with them in Below is pictures of the packaging

[ Image ID: Inside the light green packaging are various ear plug pieces and a round loop earplug case. The second image shows the silver ear plug outer ring. End ID ] Loop earplugs come with four different size options ( take note Flare Calmer brand tm )

TIME-SENSITIVE COVID ACTION ITEM FOR YOU, YES, YOU
In case you missed it: there is a proposed mask ban in Nassau County, New York that will not only make it illegal for anyone to wear a mask but will also fine you not $50...not $100...but ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS if you are caught wearing one. Absolutely disgusting.
So, what can you do?? There is a lovely organization called COVID Advocacy NY that has a comprehensive list of actions you can take at the link below! To my knowledge, you don't have to be a Nassau County resident to send a written comment. The meeting is tomorrow (July 15th) at 1 PM EST, so flood the inbox now!
"But Mitchie, what am I supposed to say?" Great question! There are talking points listed on the website, and I would also be happy to DM you the email I wrote for you to send/tweak yourself. We take care of us. Let's do this for Nassau. Reblog for other people to see. Love you! 😷❤️

You’ve got to forgive yourself for being traumatized and needing to learn how to function again.
Recovery isn’t always nightmares and depression, it’s forgetting to eat, being scared of what others might see as completely normal things, it’s getting random panic attacks, not knowing how to take care of yourself, not knowing how to live like an adult, even if you’re twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, of feeling like you’re failing to function in a world where everyone seems to have their shit together.
If you need help, ask for it. Go to forums and ask for advice. Take advantage of community resources. Buy pre-sliced veggies and fruits, eat instant meals if you can’t cook for yourself today. Hire someone. Ask a neighbor for a favor. Buy any item you think might make life easier, even if you feel like you aren’t ‘disabled’ enough to have it.
Some of the depression posts (ie open your windows, take a shower, go outside, call a friend) are really helpful but they’re not always enough. I’ve found advice for spoonies, people with chronic pain or other disabilities have the best tips because they know what it’s like to be bedridden, out of energy, stuck in a brain fog.
You may never return back to the energy you had when you were younger and you might always need to use crutches to help you through life. It’s the same with medication.
Trauma is a real thing that happens to you, it physically alters your brain and it’s alright to have lasting scars.
You’re not broken, your life is not over and you can still be happy.
It’s not your fault.

As a disabled kid I was always accidentally breaking things. Dropping things, knocking things over, spilling. I was always told that I was just being careless.
I would try to make them understand that I wasn't being careless, my body was failing me.
Now, as an adult, I still accidentally make a mess of things. Things I have purchased with my own money, precious gifts I treasure, food I was excited to eat. Which sucks! But I know that it really is my body, and not something inherently wrong with how I exist. I'm not careless, I actually have to be extremely careful with my body.
My pain, joints, brain, and meds all play a part in these unfortunate events.
And when I knock a full container of uncooked rice off the counter, or drop and break a phone that is only a few months old, I still feel like crying from frustration.
But at least I know it isn't because I am careless. My body is just an asshole.

My biggest frustrations with the anti-vegan posts that garner thousands of notes on this app are they tend to always be points actively discussed in vegan spaces since their creation.
Veganism varies by circles and isn’t a protected word, so is absolutely used by Instagram dieters and misanthropes who have never considered the oppression of humans, but veganism has also has (and has had for decades) active discussion about the requirement to support human and social liberation alongside that of non-human animals. All leftist vegans I know firmly agree that non-human liberation of the environment and other animals is not going to happen and is futile without just as much focus on all the other injustices in a capitalist society. That includes a holistic boycott whenever possible of products and enterprises that harm humans alongside avoiding animal produce .
Of course like, the tumblr users making these posts probably haven’t seen these vegan circles or discussions because they’re not in them, and the health dieters and non-intersectional single issue focused activists are pretty vocal and infuriating, but still. It’s so infuriating to see people bringing these up as a gotcha towards veganism based off things that vegans have greatly in depth discussions, prioritising the voices of those whom are minorities, for so long.

To people of loved ones with poor memory:
It might be frustrating when they forget something (especially if it's important), but I can guarantee you that they are already beating themself up over having forgotten yet another thing. You don't need to rub that shame, embarrassment, and humiliation in deeper than it already is.
It is scary to forget things. It's humiliating to be told that the only reason we forget things is because we think nothing is important, that we're selfish and callous. Our brains are being pulled in every direction at the same time. It's impossible to keep track of this shit every picosecond of the day.
People like to conceptualize memory issues as a matter of lesser intelligence, that we're too stupid to even remember [minor detail]. I've noticed, though, that all of our brain power is kept toward other things - keeping ourselves alive, remembering a different thing, trying to regulate emotions or other disorders. Nobody seems to care that our workload is at least twice that of the "average" person's, I guess because they often don't directly notice it, or it doesn't directly affect them?
It's fine to be upset about the situation. You can't help that reaction, but you do not have to be cruel to people with memory issues, no matter the cause of it. Whatever they forgot might have been important to you, but there may be other things in that person's life that required their brainpower.

A disabled wizard that instead of using a wheel chair has a throne that ambulates using a set of crab legs, and as a bonus it also has the crab claws in front to help grab things that are low to the ground. She is a master of the shoreline and is not afraid to clamp hard onto the ankles of those that oppose her.

For real tho health freaks who scream about how sugar and salt will kill us all and try to push for restrictions on things like candy and chips for SNAP recipients or politicians who try from time to time to replace food stamps all together and give out Government Approved Staples like bread and peanut butter and Government Cheese are gonna kill a whole lotta sick and disabled people like
Diabetics
POTS sufferers
Hypotensives
People with peanut allergies
People with celiac disease or wheat allergies
The lactose intolerant
People who can't eat solid food
People who are undernourished for any reason and need all the calories they can pack on
So-called "picky eaters" who can't tolerate certain tastes and textures without getting violently ill
A myriad of other human conditions that cannot be neatly tallied into categories because the human body and human experience is vast and infinitely variable
But I don't think ableds really care about us and our health like they like to claim so they can harass us about it, do you?

Action Item!
Please sign this petition to prevent a campus-wide mask ban at SUNY Binghamton. This past week at Student Assembly, the Binghamton University Zionist Organization (BUZO) proposed and passed a campus-wide mask ban and legislation that would prevent campus organizations from working with BDS. This proposal was also partially inspired by the Nassau County mask ban.
These ideas are oppressive and unacceptable. They target students protesting to free Palestine and will obviously harm disabled and immunocompromised people. Send a letter and share this widely 😷🍉❤️

Look what I found at a second-hand market! It's beautiful, I just bought it with the hope that it will still work but unfortunately the keyboard is completely unresponsive. Do you think there is any way to fix it? I would really be very excited to have it.
