Monster March 2024 is here baby! It is inspired of course by the amazing @borealwrites and their Monster March 2024 Prompt List.

a late Sunday update:

5-20-19 furniture update: -im working on my bedroom theme: cream, silver, white and maybe blk -im planning on getting 3 different posters for my room that are in blk/white -im working on buying more accent pieces like maybe a swan or dove snowglobe to place on the dresser out front. -i replaced the old bed i wanted and got a new one. they're practcially the same bed just this one has crystals in it (how cute??) and will ship faster, has slightly smaller dimenstions.

Why millennials need to take a step back from social media occasionally.

Being a millennial, I have seen what we younger folk have created for ourselves socially amongst each other, or what we "haven't" created for ourselves socially. Whatever way seems right to you, let me share why I think social media has created something socially for millennials that we don't quite know how to use just yet.

For those other millennials that are reading this, they may understand this matter more than someone that didn't grow up with social media 3 seconds away. The matter of the fact isn't that we millennials and gen x"ers" lack social skill. It breaks down more into a thought process that we all inherited after using social media every day, and having technology around every second. We look at posts, we look at feeds, we see responses and from these things we as humans make assumptions and calibrate the personality of one particular person accordingly.

Seeing someone's feed, seeing the content that may be associated with their profiles makes a sketch of that person and their personality in your mind. It breaks down even further. These preconceived notions we have of people arise and present themselves multiple times daily or weekly depending on how much time you spend on social media. This means that when we are socializing and conversating, our intentions, speech, and thoughts are altered based on these assumptions and "things" we have seen.

Simplifying it down a little, most of our thought is pulled from evidence on social media which appears when we are chatting with people. That's why if you are someone 20 years or younger talking to an older gentleman or woman, it feels different. That's because they have grown up communicating a lot differently. They grew up in a one dimensional way of communication. We live in a 5+ dimenstional way of communication.

If you didn't have social media and you were 18 - 19, within your group of close friends you'd feel like you are behind on stuff that they say. You'd feel like you've been on a long vacation and need to be caught up on something. Because millennials have most of their social life midigated by social media, that's what they decide to think about and hence talk about.

Because social media is such a HUGE part of our lives it's interesting because I don't think in that way it is hurting our communication. Everyone is participating and contributing. The wave is getting more momentum. Our communication in general is evolving to this. The baby boomers will eventually pass away, and what's left is our say. The people who grew up on social media.

In my opinion. This is just the evolution of speech, or rather the consequence of technology. It's not the "lack" of social skill.
