I'm having so many fantasy high thoughts so here are some headcannons about the bad kids based on this ask game

How did they find out about age regression?

I think the Bad Kids would have learned what it was/what it was called from Jawbone after the end of freshman year. Prom was a nightmare and they've all experienced some really messed up situations over the entirety of the school year, but especially that specific day, and I think for a couple of them (Kristen, Riz, Fabian) it would be their first time really experiencing regression of any kind.

Adaine I think is intimately familiar with what it is and how it effects her, but she never wanted to look it up on her crystal, because giving a name to this shameful, small feeling she gets would make it real and she didn't want that because she was scared.

I think Fig would already know what it is, though she'd never want to admit it, and pretends to be just as surprised and thoughtful as the rest of the group when Jawbone sits them all down and lays out what he believes some of them may be experiencing, ways to cope with it, ways to cope outside of it, etc.

Do they have a specific age or range they regress to?

Fabian is a solid 6-8 range. He's a big kid! But he still wants cuddles and to be played with. It's an age where he still believed his parents were proud of him, loved him without conditions, where he wasn't incredibly insecure about his place in the world, his place in his family, it's before everything got complicated.

Riz and Adaine are both younger regressors, like 2-4 range, because for both of them it's a time where they still felt very secure and safe around adults, where they still felt a proper reliance on their parents and it was okay for them to do so. If they're both regressed, Adaine will take on the big sister role, regardless of how young she feels.

Fig is all over the place, at one time she'll be so incredibly small, and the next minute she's 13 and angry and upset and so hateful, and then she's 6 and wants Gilear and Sandra-Lynn because she loves them and they're her whole world.

Gorgug is similar to Fig in that his age range is all over the place, but it doesn't change much once he's regressed. The actual age is entirely dependent on how upset/excited he is, whatever triggered the regression, but generally the stronger he feels the smaller he gets.

Kristen is complicated, mostly because when she regresses, she doesn't feel any specific age. She's just not her age and that's it, which confuses some of the other bad kids, but they're happy to let her ;ead the way in what she wants when regressed, even if it bounces back and forth between pacifiers and horror movies.

Do they try to hide it from friends/family?

Absolutely. All of them at first, because (for the most part) they're confused and ashamed and they don't want to admit out loud that they feel like they're losing their minds.

After the sit down with Jawbone, they have a sleepover at Seacaster Manor, all piled in Fabians truly massive bed, and spill their guts up to eachother.

Riz does his best to hide it from Sklonda, and since they aren't able to see each other very much, it's not too difficult. He's having a terrible time over the summer, everything is awful even though he saved Penny, he was a real detective, but he killed a demon and almost died and it was terrible. Jawbone tattles on him, in the end, after helping Riz through an insomnia and stress induced panic attack.

Adaine and Kristen don't have to worry about telling their biological parents, but they're staying with Gilear and Fig and walking on egg shells around them and each other. Fig eventually sets some ground rules about communication (to everyone's surprise), and things get easier from there.

Gorgug tells his parents right away because he hates keeping secrets from them and they're really good at emotional stuff.

“Mama!” Jace squeals around his pacifier, running in his autumnal onesie down the hallway and practically straight into Zara. She laughs and scoops him up into her arms, resting him easily on her hip with her vampiric strength.

"My darling!" She kisses his nose, reveling in the giggle it pulls from him. “How is my sweet boy?”

“Mama—Mama, Bear,” Jace says, kicking his legs insistently. His pacifier slips out of his mouth as he speaks, but before Zara can react, a spectral hand snatches it from the air and gently gives it back to him. Some instincts do not disappear, she thinks to herself, as Jace suckles happily around the rubber nib.

“You have been with Bear all day, silly boy! You do not wish to spend some time with Mama?” Zara teases him as she carries him into the living room. The Mage Hand follows behind, hovering with a certain level of anxiety near the sorcerer’s head.

“Wanna—bofe,” Jace replies, managing to keep the pacifier in this time. Zara nods and sits down on the couch with a soft grunt. Jace curls up in her lap, burying his face in her neck. Her nails scratch gently up and down his back, and she smiles when she sees Porter suddenly standing in the entryway.

“Hey, Z,” he greets, coming over to kiss her on the cheek. “Glad you could make it. He’s been askin’ ‘bout ya all day.”

“My precious little bat,” she coos, ruffling Jace’s hair. “Well, I am here now. And I heard that there may be a certain boy who would like to watch an All Hallow’s movie, is that correct?”

Jace’s head pops up, his eyes wide with excitement. “Yeah, yeah!” He flaps his hands; Zara smiles knowingly up at Porter.

“How long ago was his nap?”

“’bout half an hour ago, I think?” Porter replies, sitting down on the couch next to her. “Lil’ bugger was still tired for a while after he woke up, but I think he got real excited when I reminded him that Mama was comin’ soon.”

“Mama,” Jace echoes happily.

“Yes, I am here, sweet boy,” she soothes, bouncing him on her knee; Jace squeals in delight. “Would you like to tell me about everything you did with Bear today, darling?”

“Yeah! Yeah, me an’ Bear—um, um, outside, an’—an’ d’aw,” Jace tells her enthusiastically. Porter chuckles, rubbing Jace’s back.

“He liked the pumpkins last time, so I got ‘im some pages to color. Hey, kiddo, you wanna show Mama what you worked on?”

“Yeah!” Jace wiggles his way off Zara’s lap and toddles into the other room. Zara smiles fondly, putting her head on Porter’s shoulder.

“I do wish I was around more for him during the day,” she murmurs as Porter strokes her hair. “He should not be up so late like this.”

“’s’what an evenin’ nap is for, yeah?” Porter points out. “He’s fine. He’s a big boy, even if he doesn’t feel it.”

“True,” Zara amends. “But it is quite hard to see him that way when he is small.” As if to prove her point, Jace comes tumbling out of the room with multiple sheets of paper clasped in one hand, the other holding a stuffed bear by the paw. It bounces wildly as he runs back over to them, his padded feet making a soft pap pap pap on the floor.

“Mama, d’aw!” Jace says excitedly, clambering back up into her lap and shoving the papers into her face. Zara laughs.

“Yes, yes, I see!” She separates the coloring sheets and coos at the orange and green scrawls across the pages. “Oh, look at our little artist! Perhaps you should be a bard when you grow up, my darling.”

Jace giggles and shakes his head. “Nooo, sorc’rer!” he insists. “See? See?” He mumbles a clumsy incantation around his pacifier, causing his teddy bear to flicker and flash with a bright light. When the light steadies, Jace squeals, flapping his hands.

“Atta boy! My lil star!” Porter cheers before covering his eyes. “Gods, that’s bright.”

Zara chuckles. “Yes, you are quite good at that, my love, but it is quite bright.” She tosses a blanket over Jace and the bear, making him giggle. “Oh, where has our baby bat gone?”

“Under!” Jace insists. Porter grins at Zara and stands up; the whole couch shifts with his weight.

“I’unno, Z, looks like he disappeared. Did you know your boy could Teleport?” He begins to pace back and forth as Jace squeals delightedly.

“Oh, so he is my boy when he disappears, is he?” Zara teases. “I do not know where he could have gone!”

Ayda Aguefort from Dimension 20: Fantasy High

Age in orv is a topic that I have thoughts about, albeit not very coherent. It's tied to the wacky nature of time loops in orv, but the series also explicitly says that some constellations "define" an age for themselves so they don't lose their sense of self, and it's implied they keep the age where they reached their constellation status. It's a protection against what is basically immortality, but also a way to lock themselves in place; remaining unchanging by necessity also means no growth. This reflects the main characters as well:

Lee Jihye, but mainly Lee Gilyoung and Shin Yoosung have their lives changed by the apocalypse at an early age, and when their age is reset they're back to being minors again. Their strength is tremendous but somehow doesn't shake off the feeling that they're the "babies" of the group.

Yoo Mia is the eternal cute little sister, but reaching the end of scenarios does allow her to grow in the next regression in ways she never could before. Heck, Kim Namwoon is the eternal chuuni teen who died before he could change, and in death is happy to indulge in his current hobbies. When he's seen again, Han Myungoh has notably aged due to trauma, but also fatherhood - a different stage in life than trying to hit on harass girls in his office to go out with him (granted this never stopped cheating husbands but hmo really seems to priorize being Dad). Meanwhile, Han Dareum's mind does not keep up with her physical aging, esp while being possessed/having her time stolen by Asmodeus.

Biyoo is a tormented old soul in a baby's body, and for a while she's allowed to exist without remembering everything, working hard but still being cared for. She only speaks baby lingo until it's revealed to be a conscious decision of hers, and one that kinda bites her in the ass when she reappears as a moody teen human. At the same time, her memories come back fully from 41sys at the end, plus it's implied she spent a much longer time than 20yrs in the Dark Dimension; yet still chooses the form of a young girl when she's back, and freely changes back to fluffball form for convenience' sake.

Yoo Joonghyuk is a can of worms of his own: thousands of years old who goes back to his 20s again and again, thought of and addressed by others as a young man - the only one who calls him ahjussi, an old man term, is sys. (Apparently even when they're being respectful, none of kdj's kids are all that flattering when addressing him lmao) Anyway, the regression locks him in place in many ways, and when he's finally free, spends 2 years paralyzed by the abrupt change. But he goes to space, and comes back looking older than the main group, as if he took on a different mentality and is in a new stage of life (aka space is where he evolves as both a reader and a writer).

Kim Dokja is interesting. First of all, his younger self is 15 but repeatedly described to look waaay younger (it's growth stunt implying both his abuse and symbolism of his coping mechanisms). Yet he's consistently called ahjussi by the younger girls and kim namwoon, as if oppa/hyung just don't feel right (idk korean so I can't speak of the nuances, but ljh and knw aren't all that respectful in general so I wonder, lmao. As for sys, oppa probably doesn't feel right after him taking her in as a protegé). He "loses" 3 years and remains physically unchanged through the whole scenarios, and then slowly reverts to kid form as OD - and THAT is how he ends the novel. All those fanarts of his comatose adult form had me fooled. He could be said to be regressing to a child but at the same time he's SP's "parent", and arguably the world's parent. His familial "milestones" (father of a dokkaebi at 28 & adopted at 30) being all over the place can even be an allegory to the varying age.

The 4th wall starts as an old opportunistic man but already has a child-like speech from the moment it first appears, way before its last time in the train. It revered kdj at the very start but as years go on, respectfully defers to hsy as the god of their world (Thus he acts on her orders but also has his own interests). Bickers with kdj like a younger brother, even as he functions as a guide.

And as the other two in yoohankim, Han Sooyoung is an ourobouros too: first of all her avatar skill can change appearances, so arguably she can choose a different age. Her other self did a tricky dimension hopping and ended up half of a hardened 30 something yrs old in the body of a teen, and she lived split between this older self and the person developing normally until 26yrs old. Heck, she has an arc where she waits 50 years in a scenario (she keeps her sanity by getting rid of some memories). Like everyone else in Kimcom, the regression messed up some years, but by the time they accepted defeat, she wears glasses to look older at her job. Appearances matter... but does she feel like her age?

"My feelings on" part 10: Baby tyrant and how it is the queen of fantasy fufilment.

Hey there, it's been a while since I last did a my feelings on review, today I bring you baby tyrant

Baby tyrant is yet again an isekai story about an abused girl from Korea being pushed off a ledge by her own dad and sent to another dimension as the princess and later empress of the Ermeanu empire. Mabel Gardenia or if we want to get real specific: Mabel Gardenia winter Ermeanu as another one of her last names.

Surpringsly, this wasn't as terrible as I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it still is pretty mediocre at best and bad at worst and that's not even getting to the.. creepier subjects inolved when it comes to characters and plot armour but it still mostly works because I don't really take it all that seriously. It's clearly meant to be more of a comedy rather than something serious cause one minute they'll be discussions of a potential apocalypse and then next minute it's something wholesome like an outing or Mabel reaching another childhood feat.

Mabel is also surprisingly not so bad either. What makes up for her obivious Mary sue traits is her complete self awareness that everyone around her is absolutely insane. She is fully aware of the fact that her dad, Estevan, clearly favors her to an excessive degree (if you saw my roasting of Estevan post, you'll know why) she questions how the empire has not already fallen to Devlin if they are way too concerned about getting their hands on her old belongings at an auction and she even realizes that her older brother, Oscar, is a neglected child put under way too much pressure for a six year old.

However, there are many problems that I wouldn't just call bad but full on creepy..

Mabel, despite being known as a baby, is still a 20 year old woman in a babies body. They mention this quite a bit in the earlier chapters and it plays into Mabels personality of being mature and cynical for someone her age but then she just.. randomly starts thinking like a baby? For example, when Estevan forbids boys ages 5-15 from entering the palace, Mabel thinks that this includes her brother which is of course not the case. She starts thinking of Estevan as "Daddy" and overall starts to regress mentally despite the fact that we are still supposed to believe she's mentally 20?

And then there are the love interests. We got the likely male lead based on novel art I've seen: The dark and misunderstood Aidan, and the blonde second ML who appreciates Mabel for being there for him: Enrique.

I don't like either of these relationships and let me tell you why. It's creepy both ways because these boys are around 6-8 years old and Mabel is of course, a baby. To give you an idea, in a later chapters when she is 9, Aidan already looks to be a teenager.

So on one side, we got massive age gaps when the characters meet which only gives off weird grooming implications and on the other side, you got the disturbing realization that Mabel is mentally 20 years old and a bunch of young boys are paired up as her love interests...

So yeah, creepy on both sides.

The overpowered baby

So besides the obvious creepy factor: What makes Baby tyrant only good for a comedy you shouldn't take to seriously?

Well, because I'm pretty sure Mabel is the baby Jesus of this world.

She can speak to animals

She can command the weather

She can HEAL people

She absorbs a rock that makes her even more powerful, she has a guardian deity which is like a yellow cat-like Pokémon thing? Owns multiple kingdoms and territories her dad gave to her as gifts, considered a holy figure in a neighboring holy empire called Abelardo and established some hidden alliance with the pope/emperor of that empire. She's literally destined to stop the god damn world from ending and I think I made my my point when I say that Mabel has the most things falling her way.

Hell, everyone save for antagonists also love her, even her brothers mom who is described as strict and expects a lot from her son.

Damn 😭 even Oscar's mom likes his sister more than him.

To be fair this could be because Mabel isn't Pycificas daughter so she has no right to boss her around but STILL! Maybe it's different in the novel too but I'm just going by what I got from the manhwa.

So yeah, this story easily is the queen of all fantasy fufilment.

Keep in mind I'm not saying it's bad to indulge in fantasy fufilment, I just don't think I'll ever see it as something I'm supposed to treat as a serious story.

Conclusion: Baby tyrant has a lot of potential. Instead of Mabel having the mind of an adult, have it kinda like Stewie Griffin. She can be a smart but grumpy baby who thinks of everyone else as an idiot while still having moments of childish innocence since she's still a baby after all which will explain why she starts thinking of Estevan as "Daddy" without being too weird and explain her lack of critical thinking.

keep it less creepy by just.. not making Aidan and Enrique love interests and instead let them be more of new big brother types.

And these are just if you plan on keeping Baby tyrant as a comedy.

jace stardiamond/starbreaker regression thoughts

he’s usually pretty young but will occasionally middle regress (typically brought on by rat grinders regressing)

he’s autistic and deals with a lot of stress at work, particularly once he becomes VP, so when he regresses it tends to be because of one/both of these things

porter does not think he’ll be any good at caregiving but he’s better than he thinks

he understands the importance of a good tantrum and letting all your emotions out

he’ll come home one day and jace is close to tears after washing the dishes and porter asks what’s wrong and he just just watches jace slip into regression in real time.

“i had to fill out four separate surge reports today, and aguefort’s on my back about submitting my professional development goals, and—and everyone was bein’ too loud today, an’ i did th’dishes ‘n’ th’ food got on my hands, ‘n’ shirt’s wet ‘n’ stickin’ t’me, an’—an’—“

and porter pulls jace into him before he can reach full meltdown status, because usually he likes the deep pressure from porter’s hugs, but this time it only makes it worse because it presses his clingy shirt against his skin and jace bursts into tears and pushes porter away and hits him if he tries to get too close and porter raises his hands and is like. okay. alright. i get it, kiddo. go on and get your Rage out, and then let’s get you changed and go from there, yeah? can you follow me?

and jace is still sobbing, flapping and rocking on his toes, and porter just waits patiently and holds his hand out, and eventually jace takes it though he doesn’t stop crying

and porter leads him into the bedroom and sits him down and gets him changed into his comfy clothes that he only wears when he’s regressed, his big shirt with the cats on it and his star-patterned pajama pants, and as soon as he’s wearing something better he calms down

porter ruffles his hair and goes “there’s my little star. go grab your cat, and i’ll make dinner.” and jace nods and hops down off the bed and mage hands his fluffy cat plushie down from off the shelf in the closet, his massive collection of plushies, and his voice is a little softer, words and hand movements a little more slurry, but his magic knows what he wants, and soon he’s clutching his kitty close to his face as he toddles after porter

porter picks him up and sits him on the counter so he can watch while porter cooks, and listens as jace babbles about a new show he watched and how he saw a coloring book about it in the store but got scared to buy it ‘cause he wasn’t a baby then and coloring books are for babies and he was real big then, and porter just chuckles and tells him they can buy it together next time they go to the store, and jace rubs his face against his kitty’s and nods and kicks his feet

long tangent to say. jace has about 40 plushies. he likes making blanket forts and Will demand that porter get all of them down for him so they can cuddle with him in his fort

swivels between bossy and demanding and soft and sweet. porter indulges both of these moods.

scares himself with how powerful his magic can be sometimes. since it’s innate, he doesn’t always know what’s gonna happen with it when he’s little. he’ll just. want to be wherever porter is, and suddenly he’s There. this causes issues if porter’s at work or at the gym, especially because jace already freaks out that he’s not at home anymore

zara will come over to babysit if porter has to go out at night for whatever reason. she spoils him rotten but is probably actually more strict than porter is. he can have ice cream for dinner, but if he tries to hit her or cast something at her he gets put in timeout because she does Not stand for that

loves entertaining himself with cantrips and especially loves when he can surprise other people with it. he will giggle madly when he lights the curtain on fire with a prestidigitation but then bursts into tears because he feels so guilty when porter has to give him a lecture on how that’s very dangerous and he can’t go lighting things on fire

sticker chart king. he loves seeing progress on his sticker chart and he loves putting stickers on himself and porter

the coziest little baby ever. he loves being wrapped up in fluffy blankets and wearing loose clothing. all of his clothes and plushies have their tags removed so they don’t itch

porter has so many nicknames for him. the most common ones are kid/kiddo and little star, but there’s a lot of “slugger” and “champ” in there as well

zara prefers “little one/darling” or “sweet boy.” jace loves being sweet boy <3

always has to have something in his mouth. his plushies’ fur always sticks up in weird angles bc he’ll mouth/bite them when he doesn’t have a paci or chewing stim toy available

sleepy little guy. he loves sleeping on porter’s chest but will be sooo cranky if he’s woken up so porter isn’t allowed to move until he wakes up on his own

porter either gets called by his name or he’s bear. zara is zaza, zee, or za. if jace is sleepy she might be mama but that’s rare.

just little jace greeting zara at the door, squealing “zaza!!” around his paci, and zara swoops him into her arms with her supernatural strength and nuzzles his nose and coos, “how’s my sweet boy?” and jace kicks his legs giddily and babbles at her while porter gives her the rundown

it doesn’t happen often but jace has been known to be overheard in the halls of aguefort whining at zara that he wants bear(?), and zara gently shushing him and rubbing his back and telling him that bear’s in class right now, why don’t you come with zaza and we can hang out while we wait for him to finish up? nobody has any clue what they’re talking about but nobody will ask

You can call me Cyd or Schmitty, either is fine, just switch it up occasionally. I use it/they/quip pronouns, and I'm 22. This is to give the basics about my blog, and to just give some info about me!
