Titanic was a little bitch movie star who died tragically young in spectacular fashion. We know. Is nobody going to talk about her older sisters who both had incredibly successful careers? They fought in the war!
Britanic deserved a Medal of Honor, acting as a hospital vessel until a mine sank her in Greece. (Side note, sank in a tenth of the time Big T did, and 97% of the victims survived 🙄). She never got into the entertainment biz. She wanted to be a nurse, and she was a damn good one.
Olympic stepped on people and they liked it. She tore a U-boat in half (also a friendly boat but they had it coming), and served as troop transport until the war ended. They called her “Old Reliable”. Here that Unsinkable? They called her reliable. She was in service two years before the Titanic was born, and she was still serving two decades after the Titanic sank. The Olympic retired during the Great Depression, for which the Axis are eternally grateful.
And then the Nasties made The Titanic(1943) as anti-capitalist propaganda, But it ended up banned because of the uncomfortable parallels with a special kind of camping
Anyway, one of the titanic’s fuel depots was on fire for most of the trip, which resulted in the ship leaning slightly. Fortunately, the side with a hole in it was the opposite side, so it balanced back out for a while.

Sharon Tate: A Life and Legacy Cut Short
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Sharon Marie Tate was born on January 24, 1943, in Dallas, Texas. She was the eldest of three daughters to Paul James Tate, a United States Army officer, and Doris Gwendolyn Willett. Her father's military career required the family to move frequently, which led to Sharon spending parts of her childhood in various cities across the United States and Europe. Despite the instability, Tate's striking beauty and charismatic presence were evident from a young age, and she began participating in beauty pageants, winning her first title at the age of six months.
Rise to Stardom
Tate's entry into the world of entertainment began with small television roles in the early 1960s. She appeared in shows such as "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Mister Ed," which showcased her talent and helped her gain recognition in Hollywood. Her big break came in 1966 when she was cast in the film "Eye of the Devil," where she starred alongside David Niven and Deborah Kerr. This role marked the beginning of her rise in the film industry.
In 1967, Tate's performance in "Valley of the Dolls" brought her widespread attention. The film, based on Jacqueline Susann's best-selling novel, was a commercial success, and Tate's portrayal of the doomed actress Jennifer North earned her critical acclaim. Despite mixed reviews for the film itself, Tate's talent and screen presence were undeniable, establishing her as a rising star.
Personal Life and Marriage
Sharon Tate's personal life was as captivating as her career. In 1968, she married the controversial and avant-garde film director Roman Polanski. The couple met while working on the film "The Fearless Vampire Killers" in 1966 and quickly fell in love. Their marriage was a high-profile event, celebrated by Hollywood insiders and covered extensively by the media. Tate and Polanski were considered one of the most glamorous couples of the 1960s, epitomizing the era's free-spirited and creative ethos.
The Manson Family Murders
Tragically, Sharon Tate's life was cut short in one of the most infamous and brutal crimes of the 20th century. On August 8, 1969, while heavily pregnant with her first child, Tate was murdered by members of the Manson Family, a cult led by Charles Manson. The Manson Family's attack on Tate's home in Benedict Canyon, Los Angeles, resulted in the deaths of Tate and four others: Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, and Steven Parent.
The murders shocked the world and marked the end of the 1960s' era of innocence and optimism. The gruesome details of the crime and the subsequent trial captivated the media and the public, with Sharon Tate becoming a symbol of lost potential and senseless violence.
Legacy
Despite her brief career, Sharon Tate left an indelible mark on Hollywood and popular culture. She is remembered not only for her beauty and talent but also for the tragic and senseless nature of her death. In the years following her murder, Tate's legacy has been kept alive through various tributes and retrospectives. Her life and career have been the subject of numerous documentaries, books, and films, ensuring that her memory endures.
Roman Polanski, devastated by the loss of his wife and unborn child, dedicated his film "Tess" (1979) to Tate. The film, an adaptation of Thomas Hardy's novel "Tess of the d'Urbervilles," was one that Tate had been passionate about adapting for the screen. Polanski's dedication was a poignant tribute to his late wife and her dreams.
Influence on Modern Culture
Sharon Tate's influence extends beyond her time, impacting contemporary culture and the film industry. Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" offers a fictionalized portrayal of Tate, played by Margot Robbie, and explores the Hollywood of the late 1960s. The film serves as a homage to Tate and a reimagining of the events surrounding her life, allowing audiences to remember her not just for her tragic death but for her vibrant spirit and contributions to cinema.
Tate's story also continues to raise discussions about the darker side of fame and the vulnerabilities of public figures. Her life and death have become cautionary tales, reminding us of the fragility of life and the sometimes perilous intersection of celebrity and real-world dangers.

my mom was saying that I'm pretty unlucky when it comes to cat health, but I was saying that a lot of folk have issues like mine, it's just that they don't deal with them and then the cat dies.
she said "that's not true at all," and I had to list how many cats my aunt and uncle have burnt through in the same time I've had Pangur and Grim. and then I talked about an old friend who would never even name her kittens, because they always died within the first year. and of friends who've watched their cats deteriorate without going to the vet, while saying "there's nothing I can do." in mainstream culture, cat death is normal and invisible. it's just that a lot of time the cat dies outside of the house (whether through illness, accident, or predation) so people get to maintain deniability.

Dc x Dp Prompt #6
“I’m a twin”, Damian said one night. He could feel the narrowed eyes of his family drilling holes on his back in disbelief. Not that he could blame them. Damian had never so much as implied being raised with a companion, much less a sibling.
“I had a brother”. Damian paused to recollect himself. He had not said his brother’s name out loud in over 8 years.
“His name was… Danyal”. Damian hated the way his voice wavered, but he could not help it. Danyal was everything to him, his other half. Their heart beat as one and when one heart stopped beating, the other one died with it. At least until his family put his heart on metaphorical life support without ever realizing.
“Where is he now?” His father asked, voice filled with knowing grief and a hint of betrayal. It had in fact been 6 years since Damian first showed up on his doorstep.
“Up there”. All eyes shifted towards the specific star he was pointing to. “Right before he died, he promised me he’d guide me from the stars. Unfortunately, the stars are not visible in Gotham, so my brother is unable to be of much help unless I leave the city.”
“Your brother is Polaris, the North Star?” Tim questioned warily, most likely in attempts to not offend him. Damian was aware of how stupid it sounded, but Danyal had promised, and his brother never broke his promises.
“Yes. Danyal is with the stars now, just as he always wanted”
#dc x dp#dp x dc#dpxdc fanfic#dc x dp prompt#dp x dc prompt#dc x dp crossover#dp x dc crossover#ghost king danny#demon twin au#danyal al ghul#batpham#they are not in Gotham at the time of this conversation#I’m thinking they’re visiting the Kent’s on their farm but tbh as long as the stars are visible it can be anywhere#Danny did in fact reincarnate as Polaris#sort of#Polaris is more of a title the Realms gave him the day he was crowned#he is the star meant to guide them through a new era#or something like that#But Damian does look up at the stars for guidance whenever he sees them#and before he knows it he’s accidentally begun praying to Danny#it’s his coping mechanism for being unable to speak about him to anyone#but back to Danny - he regained the memories of his time as Danyal Al Ghul when he died in that portal and became a halfa#well it was more he regained the memories of ALL his previous lives but his most recent one holds a special place in his heart#if only because he knows his brother is still alive on whatever earth he was born on#as bad as it sounds Danny can’t wait until he gets to reunite with Damian#he hopes Damian forgives him for not guiding him though#fun fact! Danny was once known as the god Dan-El in one of his previous lives#he’s ALSO the reincarnation of the Greek Titan Astraeus (and he’s pretty sure Dani is his daughter Astraea)#his previous lives are all so interesting (he still can’t believe he was raised an assassin or that he was a god in multiple lives)#but in all honesty it’s even weirder feeling so old and so young at the same time
