oh my GOD i finlaly got to the place in neil's stream where the character he invented is banging the character he invented and she (player character) picks up astarion to do some Adult Fantasy Game things and neil just blurts out "oooh, mommy?" ,MSDFOIWYHEGTHSDHSG
Literally annoying as shit *someone makes a good point about how big events like award shows are used to distract from a violent attack* *random person on the internet * “oh so you’re saying I shouldn’t SLEEP now?! I’m not allowed to eat and take CARE of myself? How DARE you!” I am banging my head against a brick wall as we speak, I can’t.
Betting my MONEY on that person being American bc the relatability factor always has been & continues to be such a major issue here. Americans do literally think in terms of “I’m not Palestinian so why should I care” “I’m not Arab so this isn’t really my concern” “ok but do you expect me to just STOP MY LIFE???” and this entitlement ends up breeding actual disbelief for the idea that others could care about other people despite not suffering the same problems or hailing from the same backgrounds. Their recourse is either to shame you for it or get defensive for their own indifference. Its such a tired pattern
(Also worthy to add that it’s not just rooted in relatability and hyperindividualism and a lot of these people are in fact simply anti Arab racist lmao)
i don't remember how i stumbled across this interview but i've never seen anyone mention it so i'm dropping it here <3 it's a little dated but still like super valuable and a decently in depth look at higuchi-sensei's previous works and how she works and thinks as a mangaka... personally i think it's the most i've ever learned from an interview of hers. super interesting stuff :0)
oh my god last night my friend drunkenly confessed to me that she had been feeling very lonely these past few months and i told her i'd been feeling the exact same and we were both kind of shocked bc we both felt like the other person was doing amazing (which also kept both of us from reaching out, bc the other person seemed busy and intimidatingly happy) and it was this really weird moment which felt like smth from a play or something. like real life dramatic irony. and the craziest part is that she literally lives a two minute walk away from me too so we were literally having our simultaneous lonely breakdowns across the street from each other. so i guess what im trying to say is check on your friends and dont believe social media
Feminism lost its teeth since capitalism and the patriarchy co-opted it let's be real. But nobody wants to think about how being a feminist (and feeling """morally superior""") is much easier when you can say every choice you make is a feminist choice bc you're a woman than if you actually had to change your lifestyle in a way that goes against society and its expectations/norms to actually fight against the patriarchy.
Do you think the way Troy left the show was poorly done?
100%, it wasn’t enough in my opinion.
It bothers me that they just had abed deal with all of it one episode because it doesn’t seem realistic, same with everyone else.
When Troy left to be a air conditioning repair man they had the others complain about missing Troy, I mean abed went crazy and became “evil abed” and tried to cut Jeff’s arm off.
The episode isn’t bad, I like it. The story is cool and fun. I like when the whole campus comes together to do stuff (like paintball)
And, the acting is good. I mean do you hear troys screams? (Ignore my broken computer)
I mean britta and Troy make a clone of abed and then a clone of Troy was sweet and a smart way to have abed come back from the “dead”
But then they made him leave on a boat..with Levar Burton?? Very silly, which isn’t a bad thing but I would of liked something a little more serious.
But i couldn’t tell you what serious thing I would of wanted because I’m not good with coming up with stuff.
I know it was a terrible idea in practice, but I still think it's kinda sweet that Abed kept a dip in the fridge for two years waiting for a special occasion, and the first occasion special enough was thanksgiving at Shirley's house. Like that means he got it somewhere near the time they first started living in that apartment, and there's no way Annie wouldn't try to convince him to use it before it went off and to throw it out later on (Troy might have also, jury's out on that tbh). It seems like maybe he got it thinking well bringing dip is a Thing people do at parties and such, and maybe he built the scenario up so much in his head and nothing else ever lived up to it enough. Sweetie is always focusing on little details trying to make social stuff go better and people happier, even if he forgets about the practical issues
