I can’t wait for Armand to get to act without expectation. I can’t wait for Armand to get to do things because he wants to do things while Daniel calls him an idiot and Armand just chases his interests and gets to laugh and enjoy the company of someone who really doesn’t expect shit from him. Or even, expects the worst of him. And loves him still.

It will probably feel like pulling teeth to get there, and I fully expecting next season to continue focusing on Armand’s role as an antagonist, but I can see the groundwork being laid and I am trusting Rolin with my LIFE.

OH NO I'VE JUST REALIZED SOMETHING. It's so obvious how did I just catch it.

So Lestat and Armand meet up earlier in Memnoch the Devil, and Armand is wearing all denim and is super dusty. Lestat sees him and lovingly thinks about wanting to clean him up, do his hair, etc. Armand responds 'yeah, you're always wanting that, back in Paris you wanted to perfume me and comb my hair and put me in velvet and embroidery'. WHEN LESTAT GETS BACK NEAR THE END OF THE BOOK ARMAND IS WAITING FOR HIM! Wearing velvet and embroidered lace! He has left his hair down and uncut like it was back all those years ago in Paris, only it's cleanly washed. (see here for excerpts)

i really do hope when we get devil's minion, we see some of armand's sense of whimsy. daniel isnt looking for the Perfect Lover to spite someone else, and he knows damn well what the gremlin is like at his worst. Maybe that'll free Armand up to be the guy who calls paris for long conversations because he's bored. has threesomes in weird configuations bc why not? fucks with appliances and shiny things because he likes to learn how things work, paints whatever he wants because his creativity has been stifled for too long.

I have a headcanon that at some point Daniel introduced the terms “spooning,” and “big and little spoon” to Armand, but Armand has never fully understood why it’s called that or how to use these terms.

So when he wants to cuddle, he’ll say “Daniel, can we be spoons?”

And Armand really likes being little spoon.

Everyone I know who's into Chinese dramas (sample size: 3) got into them through The Untamed/CQL. At the same time, the Untamed/Mo Dao Zu Shi fandom seems to be larger than the fandom for all other C-dramas combined. So I'm curious about people (in an English-language fan space like this)'s relationship with C-dramas!

you found yourself always wondering; “am i good enough for him?”, “do i deserve him?”. comments had been lashed out earlier this evening to darken those already eerie thoughts that you fought so hard to not reside with. a long, long stay.

jack came into the room, that was the man that’s ‘in love with you’. those thoughts slashed at your mind little cuts kept wracking your head. the trance you were in was broken by your lovers lips lovingly placed onto your head, and you felt the couch slightly dip when he sat down beside you. his arm snaked around your shoulders and pulled you close to him, your head lying on his shoulder.

no one questioned if he did enough in this relationship. no one made snarky comments on how he was so quiet, how he looked like he never put enough effort into how he showed his love, but they did to you. and it was torture trying to hit those thoughts out of your brain. every single one of those comments lingered for longer and longer each time someone made another.

“what’s wrong?”

his soft voice lingered in the room as he ran his calloused hands up and down your arm. the television was playing in the background, an old re-run of big bang theory, muted, but with subtitles.

“jack, it’s just,” you started, why couldn’t you form words. a pang in your heart stung against your chest. “i don’t deserve you.” you whispered, he froze, eyes straying from the tv and to your slumped form against him.

“what makes you think that?” he murmured, his blue eyes connected with your glossy (e/c) ones.

“i- im not good enough-“ you were cut off by a sweet kiss to the lips. “don’t talk like that. i don’t care if your quiet, i don’t care what people say about our relationship, (y/n)!” he exclaimed. “people don’t know you, and how lucky i am to actually know and to be with you. i thank anyone in the skies above that they let me hold your hands. you are everything, my universe, my world. don’t let people tear into you.”

he rubbed his hands up and down your spine as you sobbed painfully into his chest, dampening his shirt.

the thoughts were still there, but at least you had someone to guide you along this long and winding road.

Isn't the Devil supposed to lead people down the easy path? Being trans is the exact opposite of "easy".
