yesterday i had a wild idea of a fanwork in my head, but it is going to take time, effort, and odd practices

all i can say, it is Armand-coded and kinda tricky to perform because i have never done such a thing in my life, but i think i can do it. in order to keep things ✨interesting✨, i am going to record/take pictures of the process

the chaotic part is: i am not going to explain shit about what i'm going to do, and if your freak is close to mine we're going to have fun guessing

anyway, that all said: DAY 1, i estimated the scale and am expecting my knives to arrive tomorrow

I just wanted to say that every time I see your art I fall a little more in love with it. There's just something about your digital style that reminds me of both art nouveau and comic books in the best ways. i came to think of you as of a dear friend, and knowing that what i am creating adds something good to your day is honestly giving me reasons to live and go on experimenting with new mediums. i cannot stress enough how grateful i am to know that, to be fully aware of the fact you find what i am doing... worthy of love..? motivational..? yes, all of these things.

thank you so much; it just feels that the canon when we get it is going to be as harrowing as it should be, for each and every character there is complex and nuanced, which only suggests the possibility of major angst and lots of hurt before any comfort arrives

it's generally easier with loustat since they are the focal characters of the chronicles and they're getting their bite of everything anyway; it's a bit more complicated with the devil and his minion, so i just... i just want them to have nice things in the au i invent in my sketches, i guess..? (hence the hugs, for i love and understand hugs and most days prefer them to talking)

on top of that, it's a common thing that considering something GOOD doesn't need extra reaction, GOOD it's the norm

it's when things are NOT RIGHT the urge to voice that complaint rises

stating to the author of a thing that something is really good even if it seems obvious to you is a game changer, for it's not always obvious to the author

"I really enjoy this fanart, I hope the artist continues mak-" Tell them!

Tell them! Tell them! Tell them!

If you enjoy a piece of fanart or fanfiction, you say that to the person making it! Comment saying, "This is really good!" Say what you enjoy! Hell, just keysmash, if that's your prerogative! Just do SOMETHING MEANINGFUL to tell the artist that you saw and enjoyed what they made

I once read some fanfic that was a quickly made oneshot that the writer had little intention of going back to and commented, "This is amazing! The character interactions were so cute and you got everyone's voices down pat! Reading this was a wonderful time :D" Three months later, much to my delight, they added a second chapter.

I saw a fancomic of a relatively obscure game I like and when I reblogged it I said everything I loved about the comic and near immediately the artist messaged me saying that they were happy I liked it so much and planned on making a follow-up.

If you want to see more of the things you like then you NEED to let the artist know. If you read a fanfic, make a quick comment about what you liked. If you see something on Tumblr, you should never just like it; The very least you should do is reblog it.

Say more nice things about the things you like! The people making it will love to hear it, no matter how simple you think the praise is!

anon, dearest, i am shamelessly using this ask to share - but my numbers are gonna be wrong. i want to speak of but one person i care deeply about, and i hope this too might make some of you smile.

so, Clark Gregg, you know, the agent?.. the Phil and the Coulson of all of the Marvel, right?..

a tiny bit of sad and probably tmi: on September, 18, 2011 a family member of mine reached the end of their life. it was a very slow process full of suffering for everyone involved. 2011 was the year when i used agent Coulson fanart as something that helped me cope with all of this. mind, art is naturally a thing that helps me survive and stay more or less sane.

but that was the first time when the person in the artwork REACHED BACK.

the first thing he asked was if i could do prints. i had never tried that before. it turned out that i could. i could also work with portraits, send things abroad using the flimsy postal services, make a paypal account, and use skype at an ungodly hour. i could also run campaigns. create small comics. work with NDAs, trusting the process.

and when i got really, REALLY low he also suggested some calming techniques that WORKED for me. i still use the methods and meditations he shared. he might not have a star with his name on it in Hollywood, but for me the guy's The Legend. a huge chunk of what i am as a person now comes from the hope, the trust, the kindness he provided.

ehh i kinda wanted to share that such people exist i guess, and i hope there's at least one of those in your life, anon <3
