Carry On Through the Ages (all the way back to Ancient Egypt)

The outsider is also supported by an enigmatic figure of seemingly great power, foretelling a great struggle between two mighty forces, though whether these forces were meant to be supernatural or more mundane is not clear.

The dog shown, intriguingly, held a place of honor within the family and was found interred in a nearby chamber. The cat's presence, however, remains enigmatic, as the "Cats vs Dogs" reputation cultivated by these domesticated animals today is not something observed elsewhere in Ancient Egyptian artwork. Noted Egyptologists Miriam Blackwood and Theodore Langston have half-jokingly speculated that its inclusion was a mere artistic preference, hinting at the painter’s fondness for cats."

I've always loved Ancient Egyptian art, ever since childhood. I've wanted to do something like this ever since I first read of Baz's ancestry, so @carryonthroughtheages seemed the best excuse to dabble in this ancient art style.

I talked to @monbons about it and apparently the stars and planets were in alignment that day, because she agreed to collaborate with me. She’s created some absolutely gorgeous fiber art to go along with Natasha’s prophecies. And then she surprised me with a Baz doll, because she is amazing. (I love him so much and we are going to look at fashion books together. It’s going to be awesome.)

Ok some sweet headcanons for the sake of Valentine's Day

Johnny can feel Simon from a distance, even without any messages or notifications. He just minds his own business, and then "oh, Ghost will be home soon" and goes to meet him on the airfield

Price never asks a lot of questions. Unlike Gaz who doesn't miss an opportunity to ask how it works. No one knows. Not even Soap. But the moment Ghost steps out of the helo Johnny can feel it. Price once witnessed that. One moment Soap was talking about the rookies and his training program and the next one he was already going to the hangars. Once you see how his eyes just light up you can never forget it. Price even followed Soap, to see if the rumours were actually true. Nobody expected Ghost so early. But there he was. Visibly exhausted and covered with all the roads dirt from the Nowhere, Edge of the Earth. Genuinely happy to see Soap. Not surprised at all.

After that Price hears about several other occasions from the soldiers. People even make bets whether or not Soap misses Lt this time. But they never win.

The wind howls at the landing platform. Soap smiles and reaches for the duffel bag. It is almost impossible to hear anything because of the helo but Johnny knows that Simon will know it anyway.

y'know. wishlist is at some point i do want simon to lose to the persona he built that is ghost. to finally be so fucking broken down by the world that the intrusive thoughts that he deems as ghost finally win out. the day he finally causes irreprable harm to someone he cares about - and immediately lets go of how he felt and pushes through to cause further harm. he doesn't stop until physically separated (via person, room, whatever).

bad ending for ghost where he just full detaches. angst where he really genuinely fucking hurts whoever cares about him. turning his back. unsaveable. finally crossed that last line.

I'm really obsessed with Spring Heeled Jim right now, and it's so weird to me how brief the discussion on Moz Solo is of it. Simon Goddard probably goes over it better in the Mozzipedia, but

It's definitely not just a man past his prime unable to score anymore. The use of Jim in the title immediately makes it more likely to be about a James Dean figure. That is to say, a bisexual man. And so it feels way more, to me, about a man regretting his choice to not explore his sexuality in his youth. "So many women, his head *should* be spinning," implies he's not impressed by the women who fawned over him. "And his eyes on some other fool," the use of fool here is gender neutral. It could be a man or a woman. "Well it's the normal thing to do," harkens back to the restrictive expectations of heteronormativity.

well you see it establishes the show's absurdly satirical tone and the cruelty of the lengths magicians and con artists will go to in order to shock and dupe you because you're vulnerable when you're in a state of revulsion and disgust. and it establishes the protagonist's cynical and blase outlook on extreme violence and her capability and resourcefulness when faced with shocking situations and it also peels back a layer and gets you 'in' on the meta story the show is telling by introducing you right off the bat to an absurdly violent situation that is in fact a farce. and it also turns the entire situation back on the viewer to ask why we ourselves are invested in The Narrative when The Narrative is itself a work of emotional manipulation. but yeah what could it possibly add.........
