Career
I question and challenge this word.
It was meant to be a major thing,
A goal to build a life around,
But really it's just your history,
The jobs you've done along the way.
It's not a thing to build and build,
But something life just adds to.
Ask me my career and I will lie,
Will claim something I've not earned from,
Because my life's work is not my job,
And that is how I think of a career.

wayne brady is pansexual!!! 💗💛💙🥳
i’m pansexual. in doing my research, both with myself and just with the world, i couldn’t say if i was bisexual, because i had to really see what that was, especially because i really have not gotten a chance to act on anything. so, i came to pansexual because — and i know that i’m completely messing up the dictionary meaning — but to me, pan means being able to be attracted to anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, transsexual or non-binary. being able to be attracted across the board. and, i think, at least for me for right now, that is the proper place. i took pan to mean that not only can i be attracted to any of these people or types physically, but i could be attracted to the person that is there. i’ve dealt with the shame. a shame cake, just eating it every single day — and then worried about… people finding out. i’ve always had a wonderful community of friends who are in the lgbtq+ community, people that i’ve grown up with in shows, gays and lesbians, and, later in life, my trans relatives and my niece. i’ve always had that community, but i've always felt like a sham because i wasn’t being forthcoming with myself. i could speak out about black issues because i can’t hide that. and you can play at being an ally, but until the day that you can truly say, “this is who i am, and i wanna stand next to you,” that's not… i always wanted that day to come. i’ve told myself in the past, also, nobody needs to know my personal business. the world can absolutely go without knowing that wayne identifies as pan. but that gave me license to still live in the shadows and to be secretive. what does that feel like to actually not be shameful, to not feel like, “oh, i can’t be part of this conversation because i’m lying?” i had to break that behavior. i’m now trying to be the most wayne brady i can be. i don’t know about most, actually. i’m still coming together. but if i’m healthy, then i can go onstage at let’s make a deal and be the best wayne brady that everybody wants and expects. i can be the best dad that maile needs. i can be the best friend to mandie, the best son to my mother, and one day, the best partner to someone, because i’m doing this for me. not dating yet though! [laughs] i am single, but it’s not about being with someone right now. i’ve got some work to do still. then, wayne as a single, open-minded pansexual can make a decision and be free and open to other people.
i included more quotes from the article than just strictly pan related because it’s quite touching. good for him!!!! 🌈👏🥰

man remember when that nyt interview w gerard dropped in 2014 and gerard stated directly that they identify heavily with woman and didnt and never could relate to men and the main reaction was people freaking out at gerard using "straight" as shorthand for "attracted to women" while discussing how that attraction was impacted by their struggle with their gender identity

a lot of people act like xie lian was entirely unaware/ignorant to the power imbalance in his and mu qings relationship when he was probably the most empathetic and understanding towards mu qing. for example, he defends mqs behaviour to fx multiple times because he understands what causes it.
i think he just believed their friendship overcame this power imbalance (which was easier for him to do because he wasnt negatively impacted by it unlike mu qing).
whereas, despite how deeply he cared for xl, mq couldnt overlook it because he was literally xls servant and was faced with this power imbalance everyday.
xl saw mq as his friend first, however mq believed he was viewed primarily as a servant

did you guys know that in the Italian version of 7x06 Eddie says “I didn’t know you invited your boyfriend to the bachelor party” (or something like that but he definitely says Boyfriend) and Buck replies “we’re not officially together until tomorrow”.
And then during the kiss scene Tommy says “sorry I’m late that fire made me insane/ was unbelievable” and Buck replies “and so do you/and so are you”.

i watched i saw the tv glow weeks ago and i actually cannot stop thinking about marco and polo. i am obsessed with them.
there’s something so crunch to me about the fact that they’re 01. mr. melancholy’s henchpeople, and thus literally agents of dysphoria and suppression, but also that they’re 02. BLATANT GENDERFUCKERY.
they’re visually representative of owen’s inner conflict with gender, at the same time that they are helping force owen to suppress it. they feel like such an interesting...inversion of? reference to? all the queer-coded villains of 1980s and 1990s kids’ media, that way, who almost work in the other direction - presented to the youth as as a threat, as something dangerous to themselves and to society, but ultimately adored by the queer kids watching who had no other outlet through which to express the knowledge that they were different.
which is all a roundabout and semi-intellectual way of saying that if i had grown up on the pink opaque i would have latched onto marco and polo as my problematic fave nonbinary representation faster than you can say luna juice.

its so so insane how dean has like. the huge fanbase he does. he is AWFUL!!!! i love him truly but im known for loving awful characters in fandoms im used to characters who act like him being viciously hated!!! and the only explanation i can think of is that hes played by jensen ackles (aka pretty white man). theres the fact that the narrative favours dean a lot when hes not actually right (a la s4) but thats not just it because dean is pretty clear-cut presesnted as getting morally greyer to the point of antihero territory in like s9 (where im at) at least. and Yet. he is unproblematic ally king to all??? supportive brother of the century??? Girl what???? do you know who dean winchester is? he is a controlling possessive clingy manipulative aggressive unstable thirty five year old who cant grow past his own damage and never really will because the narrative is perpetuated by the cycles he keeps perpetuating

Transmasc Person: "I am a straight guy, since I am a guy who loves women."
Toxic Queer People™: "Ew, straight guys are all predators, since only non-queer people are straight! Anyways, discrimination against straight men isn't real, even when they're a minority."
Transmasc Person: "Okay, I am a lesbian, since even if I'm not a woman, I still have a connection to womanhood."
Toxic Queer People™: "Lesbian is woman-only! If you are in any way a man or not a woman, you are not a lesbian! Transmascs can never be lesbians or have a connection to womanhood/a lack of manhood! Stop invading the lesbian community!"
I dare you to make it make sense.
