Wait shit. Gabriel being alive… or some other freak alternate reality/djinn fantasy world or something… something like that would allow me to accept the ending as “canonical” but actually it being a false ending… holy shit this is genius.

So… Cas gets killed/absorbed by the Empty… then I remember people saying no one knows exactly how long it was after Cas’ death that Dean dies, whether it was days months or years. This could be explained by some freak monster trick thing like Gabe or a djinn or something, time becomes blurred. Then… Dean dies and supposedly goes to heaven, blah blah blah… what if Dean did die during this freak monster trick thing, but Sam survives longer for whatever reason, so he “lives” longer in this fantasy alternate world. Then there’s the reunion scene in Heaven I think… what if that is when Sam is on the edge of literally going into the light, where his fantasy world and reality are blurring together, because fake fantasy Dean in Heaven and real dead Dean in Heaven are both waiting for him. And then, the fantasy and reality begin to break each other apart, causing Sam to suddenly break out of the fantasy completely and wake up, but he is really almost dead. And he thought he had heard Dean calling to him, but really it was Eileen or Claire or another hunter who had just killed the monster and were desperately trying to keep him from slipping away into death. HOLY SHIT THIS WORKS!

And so then… Sam and everyone else frantically find a way to bring Dean back to life. This is only possible because Jack has already lost one dad, and even tho he really shouldn’t be allowing the Winchesters to cheat death even more, he ignores their efforts to bring Dean back thereby allowing it to work. Even tho he really should have blocked that from being possible.

Dean… while he was in heaven, he was frantically trying to figure out how to save Cas. And when he returns to life, that’s his number one goal, and then they all go and save Cas! Omfg this is incredible. Except now I’m gonna have to commit brain cells to watch Supernatural all over again… but still!!!!

Spn season 16. It opens with a close up shot of gabriels face, who has been alive the whole time. The entire finale was a practical joke on everyone and they save cas and Dean and cas make out sloppy style and everyone lives a happy ever after. The end.

Recommendation request! books/stories/games with trans guy or transmasc love interests because I read a dark erotica anthology about queer masculinity* and although there were some trans guy protagonists, there weren't any trans men treated as objects of desire**, and it made me realise I've really not read many. And I would like to read more!

So I would love recommendations:

something at least a bit steamy

I'm less interested in positive rep (whatever that means) than in characters that draw you in and don't let go

I'm not very into a highly quippy/bantery sort of style of dialogue/narrative

I'm not super interested in adorable smol bean trans guy love interests currently, unless there's something weird going on with them underlying the adorableness

I don't mind bigotry being depicted, but a cis protagonist having weird feelings about the fact that they're into romancing a trans guy is not of interest to me (weird feelings about things other than the character being trans are great)

Trans protagonists are not a must but are a great bonus

Varied genres welcome especially horror and erotica, but I'm not in the mood for YA right now. I'm on the fence about contemporary romance - I loved Make You Mine This Christmas by Lizzie Huxley-Jones because it had such heart but I think it really needs to have solid, substantial foundations for me to keep focused

Sam knew so much earlier than either Cass or Dean did. And honestly I can so easily imagine Sam growing up and just being unconsciously aware that his brother is bi, like it’s just so normal to him he doesn’t even think twice about it.

We know Dean was obsessed with Dr. Sexy and that cowboy sheriff some guy he met when he time traveled that I can’t remember who he was. Anyways those were clearly celebrity crushes.

But imagine Sam and Dean still in school. Maybe they’re watching some show in a hotel, and Sam accidentally insults one of Dean’s favorite male characters, and Dean’s defense of this male character is just a bit too much for a straight guy, bonus points if Sam’s accidental insult had to do with the character’s appearance, and Dean goes off on a long rant about how this male character looks absolutely fine and better than fine and elaborates on… I don’t know, hair? thighs?? I’m ace and I dunno what people find attractive that way but anyways you get my point lol.

Or while they’re still in school, Dean forms a close bond with a male student, sneaks out several nights, and when Sam asks him, he just says “ohhh drinking you know, talking about girls…” but Sam knows that they’re actually sneaking out to see each other.

And maybe Dean gets into a fight with some other guy at another school somewhere, and he gets his ass kicked, and instead of being furious and vowing revenge, Dean seems to be in awe and infatuated with this guy, and Sam notices that Dean is clearly checking out this guy, not just because he can kick ass, but because Dean finds this attractive and hot.

And just so many other possibilities that maybe neither of them were consciously aware of, but Sam just grows up knowing that his brother is bi, but it just being so normal he doesn’t think twice about it. Dean meanwhile realizes that he is sought after by girls and he definitely enjoys that, so he just naturally falls into that comfortable place of being at ease when it comes to girls, whereas he never exactly knows how to interact with guys that he likes, so he just doesn’t let himself become aware of that. Not to even mention that during that time, being queer wasn’t as accepted and there was outside pressure of society but also probably not wanting to be anything less than the perfect son, and even if John wouldn’t care, this would make Dean different than other people, other hunters, and what if somehow being bi would make him less than perfect? He’s probably done a decent job convincing himself that he is straight, partly because of how often he hooks up with girls, and so he just rarely considers that he might be bi, and even when he does consider it or thinks about a guy he might be interested in, he just ignores it. Until he meets a celebrity crush and literally fangirls like crazy, or Castiel remains a constant, year after year, Cas is still there and will always be there, and this is someone who he can’t ignore. But he can ignore his feelings, convince himself that he is not attracted to Cas or in love with Cas, and even if he is, Cas is an angel and angels don’t fall in love with humans much less horrible killers like me with immense anger issues because I see myself as a monster unworthy of love, and so he can convince himself that Cas can’t/doesn’t/won’t feel anything like that towards him, and so Dean just can’t either and so Dean won’t feel anything like that, won’t let himself feel anything for Cas, and he’ll keep ignoring it and ignoring it and convincing himself that Cas can’t/doesn’t/won’t feel anything towards him, until it all comes crashing down and he realizes that Cas has been in love with him too, and they were both so scared and in denial and now everything is crashing and falling apart.

Sam had only 3 questions when he found out about destiel:

1. Shouldn't it be deastiel?

2. Why not Samstiel?

3. Casdean?

My fave thing about Jack on rewatch was realizing how internally unlike Sam he is, despite the symbolic, structural blocks of being a “gifted kid.” Emotionally? Nah.

Not if you’re paying attention.

I feel like @dawg-motif really helped me puzzle that out re: Jack’s valuation of blunt honesty and need for space and processing. And after that, it’s like Jack’s entire arc clicked into place for my brain.

There is such a temptation in fandom to assume he’s a copy-pasta of Sam because of his “doomed child” motif, or that he’s like Cas because of his literal-mindedness and sass. But emotionally? Not even close.

Or worse, there can be as assumption that his “performing!Jack” is how how he actually feels about things... Falling for Jack’s sunshiney ditzy act is like falling for Dean’s mythical Marlboro man act.

ANYWAYS. Five characters only is IMPOSSIBLE. I have tons but..these are what pops up in my mind first.

1. Peter Quill!! Honestly idk if he's number 1. But this are not by rankings cause I'm picky about comfort characters and they're all number 1. I love Peter he's so funny, so charismatic and soooo baby, (and so traumatized wow) The first time I saw him I KNEW he was going to be my favourite Guardian along w Rocket and Groot.

2. Dean Winchester. Hello my traumatized baby, look at him. He's so sweet and cute, despite all that trauma and stuff going on in his life he's still so kind and he tries not to continue the trauma chain and I'm so proud of him. He's my fav SPN character along with Bobby Singer, Crowley, and Castiel <3

3. (omg suddenly there's too much characters in my head) UHHHH. OKAY MO GUAN SHAN!! MOMO FROM 19 DAYS MANHWA. yes. I mean the whole manhwa is my comfort manhwa, I'm always sooo excited for new chapters but momo is my fav lil kitten he's so agressive and cute and baby, always getting into fights and definitely has some sort of freaking PTSD or something but He Tian's there to love him. So it's fine. TianShan couple goals.

4. Charles Xavier. Again, all of this is not ranked and if it was, Charles will be up a little bit. Charles Xavier, fav telepath and a cutie pie. He has mommy issues, and daddy issues ig, and in the comics he probably traumatized his son I mean. Look at his son. But that's besides the point! He's the sweetest, in terms of characters I relate to Erik more, and I'm more of an Erik Lehnsherr mindset cause c'mon. Mutants are superior idc but Erik is more serious than Charles, not my thing nono. So I have to have my sweetheart Charles here. Him and that tree scene is so cute, him when he found out that girl has a husband was even MORE cute. He's the cutest I can't-

5. Sam Wilson. Fav buff guy, smol smol bean 🤏🤏 I want to keep him in my pocket. He's doing great, unlike all the other characters I don't think he is that traumatized despite almost dying in an explosion, got dusted by Thanos, his best friend growing old( like rotting old) and giving him the responsibility of being Captain America and the whole states in his hand, and he definitely had identity crisis for a while. But that's just common marvel trauma. anyways, he's the guy, he's the cutest, him and his lil wizards, aliens and stuff speech was so cute. His whole character is a comfort.
