He had seen two figures huddled together that same night, unmoving. He had to ignore them. He had to grip the tire iron tighter, and get to work on the foolishly parked car in front of him. Jason had gotten three tires hidden away and all of them off before the weather struck. He was on his way to take the fourth when he felt the raindrops pierce his thin jacket and he ducked for cover. The cover didn't hold and he had to find more, getting more and more soaked by the minute. Now Jason was in the present. Dying. Or, Jason Todd is a phoenix. How he dies and dies and lives.

Okay. So. There's this brudick fic I read a while ago (maybe a couple years ago now? idk) that I'm going absolutely insane trying to find again.

It was Batman (1966) inspired, & ostensibly took place in that time period. The plot involved Batman having Robin go undercover as a patron at a gay bar over an extended period of time, & the fic ended with Batman reporting the bar to the police & getting all of the patrons arrested. All the while, Bruce was getting increasingly flirtatious/sexual with Dick at home & refusing to acknowledge it.

The fic simultaneously felt satirical & like a genuinely sober look at internalized homophobia, systemic queerphobia & abuse through the lense of a relatively sheltered kid in the 60s. I remember it being so sad & the ending deeply affected me & I need to find this so so so badly

I'd love to read more canon accurate fics regarding both Duke and Damian's relashionships with their families. The prevailing fanon consensus seems to be that of depicting Duke seamlessly integrating into the Batfamily, overlooking his commitment to his living parents and his intention to reunite with them. For Duke, identifying as a member of the Batfamily feels like forsaking his existing family ties. "It's only temporary" he tells Bruce in Batman and The Signal (2018), and means it. Similarly, Damian's allegiance leans more towards the Al Ghuls than it does the Waynes. It's a very complex overall situation wherein which he sometimes prioritizes his relationship with the Al Ghuls, and others his Wayne lineage.

Dunno if anyone can help, but I've been trying to find a tumblr fic where the JL have been trying to summon the Ghost King out in this field, but they keep getting this teenager for some reason?? And Danny, after being woken up and summoned in the middle of the night for the fifteenth time, reasons it's because he's the most ecto-contaminated being in the area that the spell just sort of latches onto him instead and everyone accepts this and they end up having smores or hotdogs or something instead

Constantine was on his way to help figure it out and Danny was staying with Aunt Amelia for some reason

I couldn't tell you if it was a prompt fill or a tumblr ficlet, but by the Ancients it has gripped me again and I need to read it/see if there's a part two because holy shit I am being brain wormed so hard

Yes I'm a sucker for the recent dc x spiderman fics and to prove it here's the most recent one to come out and the first chapter is already 13,000 words

and Dick gets to be a dad and Alfred is there and almost every sibling is there and nobody's secret identity stays intact and there's a wonderful blend of underlying Peter angst and underlying Dick angst and also like genuine good nature and fluff and I'm absolutely spiraling and sobbing and have been since I read it at 7:35am today.
