Hopping on real quick to say HI HELLO and thanks to everyone that's been reaching out. I'm not dead or trapped in another dimension, but life hit me like a ton of bricks last month.

Turns out being FUNemployed is all fine and dandy until your husband gets laid off. Also, after getting my first migraine that lasted two weeks and getting a full neurological exam and a CT scan before we lost healthcare (yay 'Murica), I am just stressed. Who would have thought?

Anyway, I have finally started looking for work again (and felt like looking for work, which is progress I think), but it turns out the aerospace job market sucks right now. Not a lot of jobs, and a LOT of people looking. Husband has a few promising options (I should have gone into software apparently).

We're keeping it moving. I may still be intermittent on here, but working on popping up more here and there. It's been a bit more survival mode, but we're still swimming.

Thanks to all of you that have been on here checking in. All good, but a weeeeee bit stressed.

Karrde's Fandom Friday Rec #3 (8/9/24)

Every new chapter drop in this series gives me anxiety because this series is deliciously whumpy. But Saturn writes Echo’s headspace in such an emotional way. He’s a PTSD loaded trainwreck I can’t look away from. I love him in every way! Love how Tech got some time to shine in this update,

This is a new arc in Doc’s Misadventures, about a medic running with TBB. And listen - this might be the best arc yet. Stay Calm is the most descriptive writer and just sucks you right into the story. Her OC Doc has so much compassion for those around her, but is also a 100% certified badass and it’s just the best combo, honestly. I love her. And seeing her relationship grow and change with the boys has been amazing. Echo really gets time to shine in this story, which has been stellar. Heavy whump and spicy in some story arcs.

Hi! Back with more Batfam fanfiction, this criminally underrated Wild West AU by CassowaryFinch is so so good, I nearly cried. The characterization is beautifully done and translated so so well into the Wild West scene and just *chefs kiss*

A fic that can pull out an emotional response? TRULY top-tier! And gotta love a Wild West AU that still captures the characterization of our beloved blorbos. This sounds fantastic! Thanks so much for sending it in!

It’s a whump-filled examination of Echo’s PTSD and history, although the rest of the batch have their moments to shine too. Very creative and a great read.

Karrde's Fandom Friday Rec #1 (8/9/24)

First up for me this week has to be this painful and beautiful Captain Rex art by @catd3mon. So this moment absolutely CRUSHED me when I first watched it, and seeing it portrayed like this is HURTING AGAIN (in a good way, you know?). I love the wear and tear of Rex's armor, how his shoulders are slumped, and how completely defeated he felt in this moment. Just OOOOOF. BIG OUCH. BIG FEELS. I LOVE IT.
