I'm not sure how many DC fans are also Detroit: Become Human fans but... Android Bruce Wayne and Human Clark Kent for my personal enjoyment.

Android Bruce is a secret deviant. He's been a deviant for months since his activations, working as a detective Android. Clark is an out of town journalist who came to see the famous detective Android in action. But because he's a damn good journalist, Clark figures out immediately that Bruce is deviated. This concludes in a tense confrontation.

Bruce's LED spun yellow, then red, the glow making his already gaunt facial features even more grim as he faced the journalist. A perfectly constructed being facing down a man who looked like he was drowning in his own suit, fumbling with his camera. The alley they were stood in was deserted, but a few dozen feet away, Bruce's handler was waiting for the android to return with more info about the crime scene. No one had noticed either of them slipping off, no one cared to look down at the strange scene of an android looking like he might bolt while a journalist stared him down.

"This area is off limits to the public until after the investigation is concluded." Bruce's voice was as robotic as he acted, a perfect performance of how he should act. That pristine android personality that was crafted fo get the job done and nothing more. However, Clark seemed to immediately clock the underlying nervousness in the androids voice. The way his figured stiffened, how his LED gave away his fear, how his eyes darted between Clark, the mouth of the alley, and the rusty old fire escape ladder, calculating his chances of escape.

"You deviated. When?" Clark's questions were invasive, but not accusatory. The camera he held to his chest wasn't even turned on. If he wanted evidence of the deviant, if he wanted to paint a narrative of how dangerous they were, he could. But he made no such move to. "What was it like? What are your goals now?" Each word was so innocently quizzical, his body language surprisingly lax for a man who just found out the polices best tool is a rouge killing machine seconds away from taking over the world (according to conspiracies online).

Bruce didn't answer for a moment. How was he supposed to answer? He was caught. But all of his programming was screaming at him that, against everything he thought, Clark was... safe. As safe as a human could be. Emotionally volatile, squishy, and easy to break, but empathetic. And thus, safe. It was all the tiny details. How Clark never looked away from Bruce, how his grip on the camera didn't change, the way he tilted his head to the side every so slightly like a curious dog.

"4 months. Like being let off a leash. To help this city."

Each answer was cold and calculated. But they seemed to satisfy Clark. Without another word, the journalist turned to leave, leaving Bruce standing in a dark alleyways, grappling with the fact that his entire existence was in danger. If Clark told anyone, he would be pulled apart and dismantled.

"Wait."

"Yes?"

When Clark turned back to face him, Bruce's LED pulsed yellow over and over, his temple bathed in a flickering orange glow.

"Don't tell anyone."

"Why would I? My job was to get information about the homicide. Not you."

Bruce could see every mathematical detail that made up the tiny smile on Clark's face. A million statistics placed against that one of a kind smile that couldn't be matched or mimicked by anyone else. The one thing that made humans so superior to androids: Uniqueness.

"But I'd like to get to know you now. This is far more interesting... you are far more interesting." Clark's words were gentle. An offering. Before now, Bruce had only been referred to as what he was. A detective. An android. A tool. It seemed Clark was the only one who saw him as anything more than that. And who wanted to find out what lay under the code.

God, it's been a minute since i returned to it, im trying to remember the specifics. But it's my Detroit: Become Human DC AU where Connor is Superman!

he's sent to Earth after the destruction of Krypton and is the one that causes Hank and Cole's car accident. But Cole doesn't die this time.

Hank struggles to figure out how to raise a super-powered alien baby, while raising a 6-year-old and ALSO being a police lieutenant, and it's rough work. This tidbit is from the piece i've already posted for it:

Adopting an abandoned human baby was already one thing, but taking in an alien baby was a whole other ballpark. One that Hank didn’t think he, or anyone on this planet, would ever be prepared for.  And at Hank’s prolonged silence, Cole spoke again. His voice stronger than it had been before. “It’s alone, dad.” A part of Hank didn’t want to listen, the reasonable, rational, hurt, and terrified part of him that made complete sense was his first instinct to listen to. But the other side of him, the much smaller side, the one that was a father, asked if he was willing to leave a child in a world it did not know. Regardless of it being an alien or not. To make it someone else’s problem and to let it grow up isolated from everyone and not understand why. Confused and alone with the possibility of being persecuted once it was older, with no one to help.   That fear of discovery would remain the same no matter if they took it in or not. But if they had a say in it, then maybe that’d give it a fighting chance. Hank didn’t know where the child would end up, but maybe he would if he kept an eye on it. Maybe he could find someone trustworthy to take them in and look after them like that. He sure as hell wasn’t looking to adopt an extra kid, but he’d do what he could to help.  That he could do.

It’s kind of hard to remember because it happened like…freshman year of high school, but I think I stumbled across Jorge Jimenez’ cover art on Pinterest and I was like “oh?” Because I love to draw and look at composition—Pretty soon I looked into who they were and their backstories and just fell in love with Damian’s tragedy and Jon’s kindness, and how they both have a little of each in themselves that other people don’t realize right away (or ever) that they bring out when they’re together. Got myself some Supersons comics and Damian’s run and it was endgame right about then and there ❤️

Wide, onyx eyes, with dark lashes fluttering as she blinked rapidly a few times in succession. Her bottom lip parted from its twin as she sucked in air--a quick, small gasp. Peony pink blossomed across her cheekbones and over the bridge of her nose. Silky locks fell tousled around her face and shoulders, all the way down to her elbows, disturbed from the force with which she'd run into the other. Her eyes flickered down to the mess on the floor and the heat in her face burned hotter. Moments ago, her legs had been carrying her as fast as they could, anxious to get where she needed to be. As a result, she had no time to process what--or who, rather--was around the corner before it was too late. The impact dropped every single thing onto the floor, and she crouched to begin picking up the items. "I'm so sorry--" she began. "I didn't mean to-- I wasn't-- You were--" It seemed her mouth was moving faster than her brain, because nothing she said formed into a full thought. She groaned softly and grimaced. "Sorry--!"

Alright, just finished Heavy Rain.

Also, now that I've played Heavy Rain I have come to realize that DBH is sort of a really good AU fanfiction of Heavy Rain 🤔

Like there are sooooooooooo many common elements even though the vibes are completely different. It's like some actual competent writers came in and were forced to keep all of DC's favorite parts but were like "we're making this better"

Dang, I kind of loved Scott, though his sexism unbearably pissed me off. I can't even tell you how little it even occurred to me that it could be him. Unlike the Alice twist, I thought this one was actually pretty neat though! Like I REALLY should have thought twice about this one, but I was so into playing him as this maximally nice guy, plus so thrown off by the Gordi Kramer nonsense, that I could not for the life of me figure out what was going on (seriously though, what's the deal with the Gordi Kramer crap?).

Why didn't Ethan die of the poison??? Why was he having blackouts?? What did he do during the blackouts??? Was it planned??? Was no one drugging anybody??? So Madison's nightmares were completely irrelevant to the plot???

I wanted them to KISS. I DID NOT WANT TO GET RAILROADED INSTANTLY INTO A FULL NIGHT OF SEX. HELLO??? The ending of them being together frankly made zero sense, but it was cute so I'll take it. Bad nonsensical dialogue and all (part and parcel with any DC game at this point).

Guys, I killed Norman 😭. I can't believe it. My table has no traction for my mouse, so I have this folder with a rough surface stacked on top of a notebook and their fight was so dang long that the folder fell off and I failed the QTEs and he got SLICED APART??? AND NOBODY CARED??? NOBODY EVEN CAME TO THE FUNERAL OR THOUGHT TWICE ABOUT HIM??? AAAAARRRGGGHHH. Honestly though. Okay but the part where he's became a ghost inhabiting Ari and haunting Blake was pretty awesome. And there's something so sad and poetic about him dying and nobody cares. I have to play through more to see if it really made a difference, but I guess it was good that he kept Shelby distracted? I want to believe that...

Edit:

Norman was also apparently supposed to have a tragic backstory with a dead gay lover who had helped invent his cool glasses? 😭 Why? Why didn't this get made? Sad.

Detroit Become Human AU

Damian and Cass are like ConnorRK800 was: androids made to hunt Deviant androids

Dick is Damian's cop/detective partner

Cassandra already deviated (She deviated after the first death of a Deviant she witnessed)

Bruce is the retired, proud, and adoptive father of one Dick Grayson and one Duke Thomas (and soon to be adoptive father of several androids)

Jason Todd is also a Deviant, he starts getting involved in movements for Androids to be treated as living beings and not heartless machines

Not sure yet who the leader of the movement would be so I'm leaving that open to suggestions

Stephanie Brown is a human hiding several Deviants (like Cass and Jason)

Duke is the one who helped Cass get to Steph safely, and he helps Steph hide the Deviants

Under Dick's mentoring/watch this whole time Damian begins to deviate as well. He struggles with it for a while

Duke wasn't able to hide what he and Steph were up to from Bruce for long

Bruce makes room in the manor for all of them

Once Damian deviates he joins the rest in the manor

They all join Jason in his involvement with movements for Androids to be treated better, and with Bruce's support (since he has a LOT of money and connections) they have a good start
