Looking back at the episode where Yuma has to go save Astral by reaching into his heart

What strikes me is when Astral keeps losing it and spawns tentacles towards Yuma, what tf were they gonna do with that?? I think there's only 3 options given the situation:

kill Yuma

absorb Yuma so they could be Dark ZeXal forever

bring Yuma closer for comfort?

They SO easily could've done whatever they wanted because they're so much stronger in this situation but they chose not to!! They didn't do anything against Yuma when they were hugged, either because they were just that shocked / didn't expect Yuma to do it or because deep down inside they really really really wanted that.

They were ready to temporarily put the betrayal aside for the sake of the duel, there was probably a huge part of them that wanted to believe in Yuma despite everything!! The only reason that didn't happen was obviously because of Vector messing with their overlay and taking advantage of their doubts

It was still eating away at them and they wanted comfort from Yuma on top of the apology even though it'd take time for them to trust him again!! Yuma's all they know, the only person they can really be themself with and the only person who's willing to do anything to keep them safe

The conflict of them knowing the lengths he'd go through to keep them safe even though he hurt them in the end, they know he was manipulated but obviously that doesn't change the pain of being lied to, it makes sense that they quite possibly reacted that way when corrupted

Wanting comfort but also being betrayed by Yuma so the only thing that could break that conflict is Yuma himself comforting them and reminding them how much he cares about them

All 3 demonstrated a penchant for kindness: Artorias left his last protection (his shield) to keep Sif safe, the research hall patients cry out for Lady Maria's touch, and Messmer sanctioned a jar infirmary and cared even for those that betrayed him.

Yet all 3 still failed to follow that kindness to its obvious conclusion: break away from the unkind commands of the current order. And all 3 ended up self-hating, suicidal, or mad because of it.

If you want to be kind, be kind. The world will be better off for it, but so will you.

Been trying to figure out what on earth C!96 was modeled after fgshjk

After now having the ref sheet, it seems it might may be potentially a bull skull?

Idk how that correlates to the whole Regular No.96 (mouth) and Malicevorous deck (silverware feeding mouth) relation, it might not at all

Could just be more solo. Like leaning into the satanic/demonic ish symbolism of bull skulls － echoing Chaos 96 jumping into that whole “I Am A God” nonsense lmao

Either way, if nothing else it seems like a cool headcanon, so I’m accepting it xD
