Not me remembering the danger motif then listening to scylla and noticing it never appears because Odysseus was never in danger, then mutiny starts playing and I hear it just after Eurylochus kills the cows-

These are all of the times I personally noticed the danger motif being played in some of the EPIC songs. I am sure there are many more, and I feel like I must be missing a handful from Survive and I feel like there could definitely be one hidden in a Circe song. I am not that smart with musical mechanics, and there is a lot of intention put into these songs to dissect and pay attention to 🥹

(To clarify what I meant by "the last four" when referencing the song "The Underworld", in Ruthlessness there are seven shouts of captain when the ships are being sunk. The last four refers to the total of eleven ships that were sunk by Poseidon.)

OKAY so I THINK I found a danger motif in Warrior of the Mind (I'm not sure this wasn't said before, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen anyone say it, but if it happened, I'm sorry).

theory about the Danger motif

So. Jorge says the danger motif appears when danger is near, right? but we've only heard it once in vengeance saga (600 strike) when there is danger in other songs. what if the danger motif specifically appears when odysseus feels/perceives the danger as danger? so for 600 strike, the danger he perceives would be towards Ithaca and family because of the threats Poseidon made in Get In the Water. Odyssseus perceives Poseidon's threat to Ithaca as danger, so when he acts, he holds that threat in his mind and perceives Poseidon as danger towards his home and family instead of himself. The danger motif's isn't there in Charybdis who is a literal sea monster. semi-objectively speaking, a cyclops and a sea monster should have similar levels of danger, but the danger motif is only played when they fight polyphemus in Polyphemus and Survive, not in Charybdis, because odysseus doesn't perceive Charybdis as a danger/threat to him. For Wisdom Saga, it appears for Little Wolf, LoP and GG (according to spreadsheet here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1D7-AoDe8FIyj8hJ6uojoFEW6IbxCgaLsafiiS4S-fN4/edit?gid=748298749#gid=748298749), which also leads me to 2 possibilities:

danger motif is played when odysseus does or would perceive it as danger

danger motif is played when the POV character of the song perceives the danger, not necessarily just any danger (see explanation above about Charybdis and Get In The Water)

tl:dr i read a little too much into the distribution and usage of the danger motif then made a theory that has probably already been discussed

Okay so it's been a while since I've last heard Mutiny for EPIC, but I decided to listen to it again, since @forestfullofberries pointed out that it has the ✨danger motif✨

I couldn't really find the motif because I wasn't paying attention to the music, because... the lyrics... THE LYRICS... Yeah, I can already see how Jay is gonna destroy me with that song, and I'll thank him.
