how am I supposed to stop scratching my rash (the literal only thing that actually makes it go away) when I have ADHD and no impulse control and do not realize I am scratching until it's too fucking late at least a dozen times per day
also how am I supposed to focus on literally anything else when I am literally constantly itchy. it feels like the majority of my brain is spent trying to ignore how itchy I am. the irony is that when I do finally focus on something else, that's when I start scratching, because I'm no longer focused on Do Not Scratch
I'm going to LOSE MY MIND
(do not tell me to see a doctor or put on lotion or wtf-ever)

I knew a guy, long time ago, who would only only eat cardboard if it had glue all over it. This was a regular thing.
0_o THUMBS CREATURE ONCE SAW THAT HIS MOISTURIZER WAS CALLED MILK IN SOME ANCIENT ASS LANGUAGE AND DECIDED THAT IT WOULD BE FUNNY TO EAT IT AS A JOKE BUT TO BE FAIR HES NOT BEEN NORMAL SINCE HE ATE THOSE ALTERNA CRYSTALS

sumatriptan + pain meds + a massage from rafi relieved the migraine enough for me to clean up after dinner, do dishes, take out the trash, do my PT, and shower. so basically i became a functional person. except that now instead of my usual cheerful jock mentality, i'm going, "oh god. i literally have to do a fucking baseline of 30 to 90 minutes of exercise every fucking day for the rest of my fucking life until i fucking die. and i literally can't slack off about it like normal people can because if i do then my body will wreck its entire shit on purpose for fun bc it fucking hates me. i am in purgatory and/or hell forever and i hope death comes to take me sooner rather than later because oblivion is better than this eternal imprisonment"
which is to say:
i may, in fact, still have a migraine.

ranting/yapping in the tags post abt showering bc i feel like typing
#i wanna start doing more when i shower#bc i feel like its never enough#half of me thinks its my possible undiagnosed ocd#the other part of me thinks it would be good for me#but not good for my wallet#right now i do a full body scub down every 3-4 days and also wash my hair#and quick short showers daily#but i don't put lotion on daily#bc if i don't fully wash myself i feel gross putting on lotion#but i do lotion my legs every night bc they're so dry#but also my heels are cracked and the only way to get rid of that is to moisturise as much as possible#but i don't wanna moisturise them unless i scrub them#which i don't do every night#i only scrub them when i do my scrubdown showers#and my everything showers include exfoliating with exfoliating gloves and then with a loofah#and unless i do that double cleanse i do not feel clean#i think i'm going to start doing daily scrubs but only with the loofah and then every 3-4 days with the gloves only#i think this way it will be quicker#bc normally it takes me a whole hour to get that everything shower done#also my grandma does a daily gentle scrub and she's the cleanest person i know#so i think im gonna start doing that#my only concern really is the amount of money i'm abt to spend on lotion#but also i think i'm going to need less because the more you do it the more moisturised your skin feels yknow#so i'd be using less#i also think getting a little routine in would be good for me#like a routine thats tied to the clock#bc right now i go to bed whenever and i never feel like getting ready for bed so i end up going to sleep super late by the time im done#but if i get a time routine i would be ready for bed so i can go to bed when im sleepy#gonna start on that tomorrow i think; starting off with my regular scrub down and then the day after i'll do a gentle loofah shower and lot

so many of my coworkers are concerned about aging and wrinkles and are confused about why i’m not but i haven’t figured out how to tell them that I’m 1100% not worried about it because aging is just a thing that happens and I’ve never been worried about aging save for the pain that my chronic illnesses bring.
.......
also I moisturize daily. your skin isnt supposed to be super tight or parched dry and hurting babes EVEN JUST A LITTLE MOISTURE

My desk mate just told me she had something for me and then handed me a tiny bottle of healing ointment for my hands. I cannot stress enough how sweet this is. I have notoriously dry hands and she’s seen how I’ve struggled to not have them constantly cracking and chapped and she just…got me some good ointment. I’m gonna cry

political opinion warning but something that rly irks me is when the people who say "you shouldn't get a pet unless you're financially capable of having it" (which is a correct statement) but they're the same people who upon hearing one say "i don't think people in poverty should be having planned babies" they'll say it's eugenics
#like. you want them to be able to pay for pets but not for the children. i don't follow the logic#if you can barely afford to eat you Shouldn't be planning for a baby i don't know why it's a controversial opinion#if You can't eat how are you gonna expect a baby to eat#it's like pre planned child neglect hello#also an opinion i have that seems controversial to some#is like when ppl have a baby even when they know it'll have a painful disorder/disease/whatever#like idk if you've seen those documentaries of ppl with#harlequin ichthyosis. there's one family that rly pisses me off (the parents i mean) bc they had two girls with the disease#and it's INCREDIBLY PAINFUL. like every single activity is painful. your life is just Pain all the time. suffering#most babies die shortly after birth but there's rare cases where they can survive longer#but these parents found out they basically had a 1/4 chance that any baby they had would have this because they both carried the gene#(neither of them actually had the disease just the gene)#and they still had children anyway. Three Of Them. in hopes that they'd have a 'normal' baby. all three ended up with the disease#and it's fucked up bc you can actually even plainly see the father didn't want to have more but the mom insisted#and i'm like. that's just morally fucked up. you people don't have to live with this suffering but your kids do#to even take the risk of having more after the first one is just awful to me. 1/4 is such a high chance#part of the reason those girls live as long as they did (i'm hoping they're still alive) is that they have a daily regimen#of Very Painful Baths that include aggressively scrubbing their already painful skin#and then slathering themselves in lotion/antibiotics/etc#and they need these scrubbings At Least twice a day i can't remember if it was more but i know it was at least two#like that's traumatic these children are traumatized. esp seeing them scrubbing that little baby's skin. i can't even imagine how fucked up#someone's mind gets if they're subjected to constant pain from the time they're born and through their whole life#it's just fucked up i got heated just thinking about it#i will cease my bitching now 🫡

GLOW UP GUIDE FOR 2025⠀
Tumblr media
READ: On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And considering that 2025 is precisely these many days away, why not start with our glow up plan already?
Tumblr media
Physical Glow Up-
BODY
— 5-10K steps a day.
— 7-8 hours of sleep.
— workout everyday for 1 hr atleast- yoga/stretching/pilates/cardio. a workout may take one hour, but your mood will be boosted for the next 12 hours.
— posture training.
— sunlight exposure after waking up for at least 10 minutes.
NUTRITION
— 2-3 liters of water every day.
— limit your caffeine intake.
— avoid sugars as much as you can.
— high protein diet, pre and probiotics.
— more fruits and veggies (+ green smoothies if you like).
— no junk/processed food/trans fat.
— no eating after 8 pm.
SKINCARE
— be clear on your skin type (oily, dry, combination, sensitive).
— once you're clear, use these accordingly- cleanser, toner, targeted serum, eye cream, moisturizer, sunscreen (≥50 spf).
— keep your bedding clean as well.
— no picking of skin on your lips, cuticle etc.
— gua sha to help improve blood circulation and lessen toxins.
— cold therapy may take three to five minutes of being uncomfortable, but your energy levels will be boosted for the rest of the day.
— remove makeup before you go to bed.
BODY CARE
— shower every day.
— exfoliate 2x a week.
— use body lotion (shea butter/aloe vera gel/coconut oil).
HAIR CARE
— wash hair 2-3x a week
— oil your scalp 2x a week, at least 3 hours before shampoo.
— hair mask 1x per week.
— never brush wet hair.
— use silk pillow case.
HYGIENE
— brush your teeth 2x a day, clean tongue and the roof of the mouth daily.
— floss daily.
— cut your nails 1x a week, never remove the cuticles.
— glycolic acid under arm for odor and discoloration.
— never use soap on your coochie.
Tumblr media
Mental Glow Up-
MINDSET
— set clear goals- define and breakdown your aspirations.
— start your mornings with positive affirmations.
— surround yourself with uplifting content and people.
— be shamelessly selfish to your career and mental health, remove anyone or anything that doesn't align with your priorities and wellbeing.
— boost your brain health by these 4 neuroscience tools:
difficult first: start your day with the most difficult task (cortisol and dopamine are high in the body meaning that your body/mind is primed to work).
rest your eyes: introduce a micro-pause after learning by resting/closing your eyes - will help retain information better.
tomorrow's worries: write tomorrow's to-do list before bed as it is proven to be effective in helping you fall asleep.
find time to play: engage in low-stake play. can be anything you find fun but where the outcome doesn't matter (induces neuroplasticity + reduces stress).
MIND
— meditation might take as low as ten minutes, but your focus will be improved for the rest of the day.
— no social media after waking up and at least an hour before bed.
— keep aside 1 hr of time to read daily! reading a new book may take five hours, but you will keep the knowledge forever.
— journaling, gratitude.
— digital detox once a week or for 12 hours.
— limit unnecessary screentime, unfollow or cut off people you don't want to see.
JOURNALING
— choose a regular time each day to journal, making it a part of your routine.
— find a quiet, comfortable place free from distractions. light a candle if you want.
— allow your thoughts to flow without censoring or editing.
— write about your feelings and emotions to understand them better. write about things you are thankful for to boost your mood. write about your short-term and long-term goals. identify what triggers certain emotions or reactions
— set a timer for 5-10 minutes and write continuously during that time.
— reflect on both positive experiences and challenges.
— make lists, journal your thoughts on these questions.
— journal at night to clear your mind before bedtime, because emotions and thoughts lose their power once we acknowledge them.
— a gratitude practice may take five minutes, but your mindset will be shifted for the rest of the day.
AFFIRMATIONS
— customise affirmations to your needs.
Tumblr media
Personal Life-
WEEKLY TASKS
— initiate small changes: begin with small, manageable tasks such as making your bed or cleaning your room every sunday.
— celebrate your success: reward yourself when you achieve your goals or have a consistently productive week. consider treats like buying flowers for yourself or watching your favorite show.
DAILY WORK
— set achievable goals: establish realistic goals for the day, week, or month ahead.
— track your progress.
— organise your work space, declutter your shelves etc.
— embrace the power of lists: keep a list of tasks to be done and their deadlines. this way, you start each day with a clear plan. to make it visually appealing and motivating, consider using productivity apps like evernote, habit tracker, or notion.
PRODUCTIVITY TIPS
— wake up early.
— plan ahead everything, do scheduling. you can use:
google calendar / notion / tasks .
— if the task takes less than 2 minutes to finish, do it immediately.
— countdown rule, if you are procrastinating, count 1-2-3-4-5 and jump.
— start slow, don't rush and try to do everything at one time.
— follow a proper routine, use app locks based on screentime.
— pomodoro technique, 25 min work, and 5 min break.
— schedule longer break times as well e.g 30 min nap.
