Thoughts about the election.

First off all, let me tell you that I am not surprised. It took an incredible amount of my effort to vote for Kamala, because she reminded me so much of my mother. And Trump, now that I see it, reminds me of my father. Maybe of me, back when I was idealistic and starry eyed and had no clue what I was being subjected to. Anyways, I feel like I might be one of the few people on this planet earth uniquely qualified to tell you what’s going on. So let me do that.

But first, a quick disclaimer

My dad's the one who told me to vote for Kamala in the first place. He told me trump was being dumb and racist, while I was being a dumb idiot 😭 So the comparisons aren't quite exact.

Like yeah obviously Trump does this. Trump isn't a good person? Bruh that's like saying the sky is blue. Sure, the sky might be closer to cyan, and Trump might do a tiny bit of good, but really? Really? hopefully you get my point here

But also, look at Kamala.

That’s the election for you.

Well, in actuality, things are not quite that simple. (Trump could be animal farm too, or something worse, or something different, but you knew that, right?) With Harris, things would have stayed mostly the same, and maybe incrementally got better. Over a really long period of time. But Americans wanted real change. They wanted it now. (America is famously impatient, as you know with how they treated climate change and the whole "do it now and push off the consequences for later" thing). They were tired of not being able to understand complicated things, and were tired of “oh, you don’t understand it? That just means I’m better than you, stupid.” or “you don’t understand it? That means you’re racist.” and if they weren’t before, then they were more inclined to be now. It’s polarization, radicalization, on both sides. Us vs them. Yea disney has been trying to be inclusive, like they have been in the past, but now they are doing it because they are an evil corporate hegemony and want the most clicks. Or it's an obligation, which ties back to... more clicks. Sure, some people care, but representation is best done because you’re not fussed about it-- that’s your friend, and that’s all there is to it. There should be no “incentive” or it feels unfair and high key ingenuine (almost like a racist parody, which would actually be more inclusive in that case)* and offensive. People get to be in power just because of their race, and even if there is a historical reason, I don’t care the movie is bad. It’s an excuse to be the bully with everyone feeling like a socially ostracized villain for saying anything at all. That’s why people hate Kamala. They knew she wasn’t for the people and this was just an ego trip for herself and she was acting so smug because she thought people had no choice but to vote for her. Well tough luck.

Like SNL’s version was better than the real dry and humorless real person. I feel like I could see it in Maya’s face, “I hate you, and I don’t quite understand you, but I’ve got to grit and bear this because I want you to win this election, just like everyone around me because no diverse opinions are allowed here, right?” Like how much do you wanna bet Kamala's own team was racist, against her, and didn't want her to succeed? Just like Olivia Rodrigo (poor girl needs a better team 😭) (but also this is just my suspicion) (she also isn't standing up for herself.. that's a whole other thing, for another time). But like also Kamala is extremely unlikable. People hate humble braggers THE MOST out of everyone on planet earth. Trust me, I used to act just like that, like, to the dot. Then I spent a really long time trying to figure out "why doesn't anyone like me 🥺☹️" but now I know. It's strictly because I wasn't being myself. If you are, then at least someone is going to like you, already does, and the rest of everyone will at least respect you. Or they don't matter, because you have the back of everyone who does like you, for who you are. Just give them common decency like every human being deserves, and be willing to change your mind. Basically, you need to be able to have a sense of humor, (not copying, what actually makes you laugh), and be open about that. That's it. (if they don't like you it's ok, not everyone will and that's how you know you're a real one)

But Kamala showing up on SNL was a power move. She showed up there "hm. my team tells me people like 'me' on SNL.' " (YEAH CUZ MAYA RUDOLPH IS ACTUALLY FUNNY, RESPECTFUL, AND KIND UNLIKE YOU who just follows a script and tells everyone what they wanna hear, or what you think they wanna hear/what your team tells you to say and that's it. Like logan paul's sad excuse of an apology. Like Miranda sings. You think you can manipulate us?????? Just like Trump????? Like she was acting so much like Trump in the debate, it's crazy. I thought we agreed that acting like that.... was bad? 🤨)

But anyways. She thought "Let me go on SNL because my team tells me it's popular and then people will like me more." smh clout chaser.

She totally showed up Maya Rudolph 😭 like think about how they're going to feel 😭 maybe I'm wrong on this...

She's not cool like Obama. Arguably, Trump is. Showing up to SNL was the "plan" and not something she was excited to do out of the kindness of her heart, with the bonus it could have the benefit of getting to show people her personality. Tim Walz killed it on that front. He's a teacher. He's your dad, that you used to have years ago. He genuinely wants to connect with the youth, and help people. He used to be a teacher, and is now a governor. We get him. We trust him. He's likable. He's cool. (yeah could be biased here and not seeing the other side, but that's just the impression I get from what I've seen.)

Maybe a little ego boost of "woo! people like me here!" *insert her laugh here* as a small plus. um, sorry if I'm being racist or something, but also like I said, I'm kinda biased because of me and my mother, but you don't understand just how hard it has been to convince people that my mom isn't nice even though she may appear to be. Maybe some of you do. I'm sorry. I just hope you can see my point. even if just a little :/ im sorry 😭

Having humor and being personable like Trump requires great understanding of the people, and he has far more connection to the people than she and her party ever did this election cycle. Everyone hates the teacher who takes things way too seriously, but loves the class clown, right? They were just hoping for power and control, and hoping that this “hostage situation” as the Times called it would pay off. They were trying to control us, not exactly help us. Help enough so that they still get to have control. At least Trump was honest about who he was. He does care about the people (even rich people, at least he was honest about that), even if he’s stupid, and the people could see that. He has charisma and you need that if you want to gain the respect of other world leaders. He’s too stupid to see he’s being manipulated, but I have hope that if he has someone that he trusts and is willing to listen, and share their expertise with them, we might be able to avoid some stuff. But if not, he’s like me. I see myself in him. I see my parents and like the general sentiment of the public in him too. He doesn’t understand, doesn’t trust anyone to understand, and is about to learn the hard way why everyone does things the way that they have been. But also, I’ve got this feeling that he is right about some things. Like in the debate, he accepted that he was going to lose, “why are you looking at me funny, I’m right.” (he didn’t know he was wrong), so he shifted and started talking about something he knew very well, and had evidence to back him up. He did a good thing, and he was like “y’all better not mess this up, I’m warning you now.” (I’m talking about how he dealt with Afghanistan, and even if it’s bad, it kinda worked short term?) And you could really see that leadership quality in him, and the confidence to know what he is talking about. He wasn’t there to appease the largest group of people possible. He was there to speak his honest mind. Like Bernie. We should have elected Bernie…

That’s why Kamala failed, her team carefully controlled her, when Trump’s team is genuinely helping him win and is appeasing to his emotions. It's a different type of control that lets Trump be himself, and also super confident (he doesn’t know he is wrong.) And if the people didn’t know he was wrong, his argument looks really convincing. (Cue me, super dumb, and me before I learned about the debate. I thought the whole cat thing was real because of one wildly misrepresented clip on tiktok 😭) It’s super easy to believe misinformation because of the fact that it’s so hard to combat. Especially since the social media algorithms designed by execs that care about making the most money as possible while not losing their customer base straight up designed it so people stay on the platform as long as possible, which encourages misinformation. and no room for thinking your own thoughts, because everything goes so fast and the stupid herd mentality that’s in practically EVERYTHING. It’s so bad. 

So please extend a hand out to people you disagree with, and try to maybe see where they’re coming from. When Harris said “we’re not going back”, it felt like a kid losing the ability to go to his favorite toy store, just because he threw a tantrum once. “I swear I’ll be on my best behavior, mama 🥺 😭” (what she really should have said was “working towards a better future, different from how it is now” but she didn’t because she didn’t want that/believe in that cuz she likes how it is now, even if the people hate her for it -_-)

People do want to go back.

I think that’s true, on both sides. The people want unity and kindness, and not have to be gaslighted in every direction. Gay people don’t want to be gaslighted into thinking they’re not. Straight people don’t want to be gaslighted into thinking they’re not. People don’t want to be ostracized for being true to themselves. Trans people (a reeeeeally small fraction of the population) want to be treated like normal people, and parents don’t want their clearly not trans kid to be constantly gaslighted into thinking they could be. (the case they really are trans is a case of mental illness, and trans people will tell you that they don’t wish that mental illness on anyone who isn’t truly suffering from it already.) I know you think I’m being racist here, or that doesn’t happen, but peer pressure is real, and it would probably have benefit the movement to just have representation sometimes and to not make it so public. Because people want stability, they want to see that they can be themselves without having to fit into this certain box. People can act a certain way and IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY ARE TRANS. And the ones who really are and have been are, and I cannot stress this enough, an extremely small portion of the population, and have been struggling with a mental illness so bad it’s either this or basically die, at that point, in their lives. They really had to fight for it back when it wasn't cool so you know they're being serious.

People want gender equality, and not being forced to sit in a box one way or another. That used to be the case. Boys and girls could do basically anything and they wouldn't get made fun of because that was the norm (I'm talking boys with long hair and more feminine clothes, the color pink, girls in short hair and being sporty, girls can already do a lot cuz ww2 maybe? idk like this is a whole thing)

I’m willing to hear more people out on this, but please know this comes from me trying to learn about it as much as I can, and hopefully not out of ignorance. Basically we all just want to stop making it be ok to say that you are gay/trans for attention. On both, no, all sides.

Maybe what I described isn’t true for some people, but I think it is true for the vast majority (just my personal view from what I’ve seen, could be wrong though) and that’s what our parents see. They’re upset, because they love us. They don’t see a reason to change, because they love us. (I mean some people are racist and what not but I don’t think it’s fair to assume that of like half of America. You get bad stuff that way, like I said before!! :( ) Even if they are racist, it’s because of bias and personal experiences, just like how some women hate men. See? Analyzing the Symbrock kiss bcuz I've lost all sense of shame

Thinkin about that scene in 2018 Venom where Venom saved Eddie in the Forest. Imma refer to Venom as she/it in this post because they're agender, I wanna show that more, and I think that they just take on the gender and pronouns of whatever gender their host is. But please note that appearance doesnt always equal gender, and im just reffering to this rn because i like agender Venomm. Anyways!

The way she snuck in using her tentacles to kill the guys one by one. Venom was literally so excited to save her dumbass human. Look at the way it tosses the guy like a ragdoll. Look at her stance. Venom's still super excited. Look at how happy it is to pick Eddie up! Look at its tongue waving in the air! Also, another thing to note is that this is the first time Venom closes its eyes. In the first two movies, Venom never blinks or closes its eyes at all. But, the first time she closed her eyes was to express emotion when kissing Eddie.

This is as much as I'm going to in the gif show bcuz as much as I love the scene, I also kind of found it gross (I kept imagining the spit everywhere and it looked like Eddie was eating Anne when we saw her and the liquidy noises grossed me out) but still. Look at Venom's face.

I actually think this is the first and only time as of now that we saw Venom look so peaceful. Eddie is Venom's home, and it feels safe with him. It could've bonded with him any other way, but she chose to bond with Eddie by shoving her tongue down his throat because she wanted to. And also, probably to complete the, "we make out under the Moonlight after I rescue you," thing because again, Venom is a giant romantic sap.

Also, she literally wrapped her tentacles around him his neck and shoulders. While you could argue that it was just symbiosis through skin contact, like we've seen before in the movie, I still find it very sweet.

Oh, yeah, Eddie's reaction. Eddie had absolutely no idea that Anne was the host. Even when she appeared, his eyes were closed so he couldn't tell. All he knew was that his not alien bf that he thought was killing him came to his rescue, picked him up, and started French kissing him. And he just went, "yeah okay." Didn't even try to fight back. Didn't pull away from the kiss, in fact, even leaning into it, all while moaning.

Another thing: while the host can communicate with the symbiote, the Symbiote cannot conteol their own body, so all of this was Venom. Anne even admits later in the movie that the kiss was Venom's idea. And in a deleted scene, Anne says that the kiss was "mostly her," but Venom pipes up and yells, "Well actually it was mostly me!" While cut content shouldn't be considered canon, I find it funny that Venom wanted Eddie to know that the kiss was his idea. Yes, his ass is weirdly flirting with Eddie, lol. (He/him cuz at that point, his host was Eddie).

He'd use one of his 72 transformations(like transforming into an ant etc.) to get ahead of you in line. And some other times you'd camp outside the bakery just to get the buns. Once whem you did that you even left him a message

"Better luck next time Peach King :)"(that's the nickname you gave him lol)

This continued on for a whole month!

But as your rivalry died down a bit you started to share the buns. He'd get them all and wait for you to come by so he could give you half, and you'd do the same. That's how you became friends with the legendary Sun Wukong THE Monkey King.

You once had movie night at FFM with all the baby monkies and a crap ton of his favorite peach chips(tbh you were probably watching movies based on him). Later on you invited him over to your apartment for another movie night, and oh boy... You had soooo many peach flavored snacks he couldn't believe it! Honestly you didn't even pay attention to movies, most of them were boring but you had fun judging everything characters did with Wukong. That was now a tradition of the two of you, you guys would buy the peach buns and go over to one of your places and watch random movies( it really wasn't about the movies more like that you enjoyed each others company).

After 3 months of having these movie dates(atp you guys were dating) and Wukong wanted to make it official. He confessed to you in the bakery(so romantic ik). He didn't know how to confess so it was a bit wonky, but really sweet, and so you started officially dating! (Sorry for this rushed part like idk how to write these kind of things)

When Wukong decides to propose to you, he is at firta confused on how he should do it. But after doing a bit of research he gets the amazing idea!

He decorated FFM and proposed to you with a peach of immortality, might i add he wore his best suit to do so!

Form Results

Hello! This is the Secretary. Tragically, it is tax season, and I must make people pay their taxes. However, I still have time to crack this one out for youuuuuuu.

Let's look at the results of the form!

First and foremost:

172 results! That's a lot more we thought we would get! Thank you so much for everybody who sent us responses!

The height is divided equally, with Very Tall being the one with the most amount of votes. Fun fact: Tall used to dominate this by 60% until I posted it on the forum ;)

As expected, Wielding my powers was the biggest section of the pie, followed by Adaptability. Hand2Hand combat is a rather straightforward option - and a rather realistic one - which makes sense a lot of people might be interested into crushing enemies with tendrils.

Again, we figured that one out before it was posted. We included nodes and carapace to make sure someone who is less comfortable with body horror is still able to enjoy (and angst) over this story. But that doesn't mean they get exclusive choices and special ways to resolve (and cause) conflicts.

A lot of you went with Reserved, which, well... makes sense.... a lot of you are nerds, after all...

Methodical nerds! I think this was to be expected, we kinda figured out you guys might be more interested in a quiet and methodical approach to conflict. Kinda makes sense with the storyline too!

A fairly even split with Brown and Blue being the biggest one with then Green, Grey and then finally Hazel.

This is why we included a variety of skin tones in the desing choices because even if the racialized skin tone options may not be the most popular, the readers who are racialized should be able to put themselves (or create a character that looks like themselves) in the game.

This one is to be expected: people loves making themselves pretty lol

This split is absolutely not even! If this is unclear: Black is the largest portion with the three browns following it, then blonde, dirty blonde, auburn and then red. I wonder if we combined the brown together in the voting if they would have beat out the black hair...

Tying back to the skin color: this validates the choice we made to make the game inclusive where racialized (and here specifically black people with the ability to pick natural and textured hair). Again someone is allowed to create themselves or someone that looks like them, and it should be a thing that is possible in every game.

For hair, it's a split between ear length and very long, with the other ones getting smaller. Cropped and Very Short are the smallest option, which I personally expected.

So, again, this is tying back to the inclusivity. We inserted the cis options (cis man and cis woman, which are expectedly the biggest choice), however every options has been picked, including [Input my own gender] which means, maybe someone made themselves in the game!

To be expected, but it gets funny in the next slide...

What's your guys' beef with Guts LOL

Funnily enough, a lot of people really love Grant and Shauna, but only one of them is able to survive the prologue. I wonder how many of them made the other one survive while their girl/boyfriend died. Prii being your best friend less than your datefriend is also quite funny to me, to be honest. Also Beth is just trying her best, but I think she's going to up in the polls!

Again, tying back to the inclusivity thingy from above. You are able to have romantic relationships when you are asexual, and sexual relationships when you are romantic in the game, and they will not be locked out because of it. Just so people can actually play the game!

Even-ish, but you guys love being bishonen.

Boy am I about to rant in this ask lol

The amount of people who want them (jk, OC) in DC to be end game makes me question whether they would survive a serial killer in a horror movie.

Basically, all I hear is "yeah he was mean to her, called her names, told her she doesn't deserve to be treated nice from men..BUT he's hot and said sorry!" Like...you really missed the point. I'm not saying they can't end up together but my girl OC has been through hell and back with the opposite gender. She needs to heal first lol

Also I'm glad DC is taking it's time because girl you ALMOST had me not read the rest of the chapter when I read she asked for handcuffs.

I was thinking "has everyone suddenly got amnesia and forgot he was mean to her? But oh well he's being nice to her so let's jump forward to a relationship... 👏 grab the handcuffs!!!"

Honestly I really don't think as of now they should be end game but let's see what he does to atone for his previous treatment of her. Does that mean that once he apologizes with words or actions he can get together with OC? Probably not, but it's up to OC. She hasn't been treated nice or as an equal from men. JK is too good to be true to just forget how she's been treated.

I really hope the next chapter with jks pov can clarify some of my doubts because the complete 180 he did is so....I can't wrap my head around it. He insulted her appearance, her chest, that she doesn't deserve flowers...but now that he found out she's a SA victim NOW she deserves to be treated like a human. NOW she's a woman deserving of flowers 🙄

I'm gonna give him a crumb of doubt because at the time, his friends, who are the perpetrators of OCs trauma, were nice to JK.

It's hard to imagine that a friend who treats you so nice can have this horrible side to them and assault OC. Not only that but they implanted a false narrative of what went down and because they are so nice to him, he took their story for what it was.

It's easy to say from an outsider perspective "well why didn't he come to his own conclusion and investigate before automatically assuming it was true?" But we're not omniscient. We can't predict the future and this perspective comes from what is known now vs what little information you had then. And this can fall both ways like yeah he didn't know much back then but also he could've dug a little deeper but that's such a rabbit hole I will not dive into cuz it's a neverending cycle.

ANYWAYS, Now that he's got the other side of the story, WITH PROOF, he wants to get justice for OC and maybe even start a relationship with her (TBD), but how can you do that when you were also indirectly hurting her with your words that further pushes her to not trust men? That further deepens her wound/trauma/wtv you wanna call it.

I mean think about it, if you were OC, you were close to dying at the hands of a man who wanted sexual gratification one way or another, and then it kinda swept under the rug...she's never gotten true justice. And because the guy hasn't been put in jail, it gives him an ego boost to think he got away with it and rubs it in OCs face by making up a false narrative that everyone believes and turns against her, further isolating her from who she can count on.

First, by getting away with the assault, he's won, and now by having people turn against her and hate her, he's won again.

DC jk and all the things he's said and done to her, indirectly adds more salt to a wound that hasn't healed. Yet again another victory to the perpetrator.

So at this moment, a "sorry" and "I'm not like the other guys, I'm a nice person, I took a knife for you, you can trust me" isn't enough for OC to heal. OC even said how she wants to trust JK but after everything she's been told, after everything she's been through, it's hard to put that guard down and just trust him. Because that's also how she was assaulted by her previous partner.

So...with that said, let's see what the next chapter reveals because right now the plot is in the middle and it can go in any direction. I think it was a good choice for OC to leave bc that whiplash from jk being rude to the greenest flag ever might be a bit too much for someone like OC who's only ever had bad experiences with men.

As for the romance between JK and OC, let's put it in the back burner! Lets put these cowards in jail first and then we can talk about it.

to be fair and maybe play devil's advocate, i feel like, to many people, jk has already redeemed himself. because we already knew he was horrible to her before, but he did apologize pretty sincerely for how he acted because he didn't know. and then he died for her (but survived lol) only to go on to rat all the rotten men at the station out and take them out, one by one. then he tried to respect her decision to lay low for a while (literal months) but had to check on her because he was worried for her safery. and then he convinced her to stay with him because of that worry. so he's been "taking care" of her while also working almost day in and day out on catching the ones who raped and tried to murder her (and him!) while also trying to "uncorrupt" the station. not to forget that he went to her friend and talked about reopening her case against one of their colleagues that drugged her, and he didn't do that to earn brownie points with reader.

so i think it's a little of "he thought she was the evil perpetrator but now he knows that she's the victim"? more like they not only assaulted her but trashed her character?

but yeah, they did feed him a false narrative, which he shouldn't have believed!!! so his first and maybe biggest mistake is trusting these men over the woman blindly when he's very much aware of the fact that men do stuff like this? so he definitely should've talked to her instead of just believing them and then going to such lengths to "avenge" his friend.

because yeah, even if he's shown himself to be a good guy now, reader can't know exactly why he's acting like he likes her. if that's because he actually does like her or if there's another reason. because as she's come to know him, she realizes that he probably would've told her if he thought she was pretty and was attracted to her. and knowing everything that he said, it's understandable for her to doubt if he has feelings for her or not.

so i definitely understand both sides, both the people feeling like yeah, it hurts to know what he actually said and how he treated her, but he's shown (actions over words) that he's actually a good guy and if he can explain himself and thoroughly apologize, there's still a chance. and the people who feel like he went too far and the wounds are too deep no matter how good of a guy he is now.

Heyoo! So this is basically an "am I a plural egg or do I just want to be plural" type question, right? I can try and give ya some advice to differentiate! This is coming from a system that was a plural egg when I was created, so if you end up realizing you were plural before your creation of a new tulpa, that's totally okay too! Just make sure to treat everyone equally.

That being said, here're some things to consider. We've got members with species and gender dysphoria so thats what I'm basing this on.

- Do you get just the general feeling that someone else "should" be there, or does it feel like there're specific other presences around? Identity dysphoria tends to be like an empty feeling where something feels like it should be, but the feeling of an unknown headmate being around is more like the feeling of "there's Something More here but I cant put my finger on what"

- Do you experience moments where you don't feel like your motivations, emotions, desires, etc intensely don't "line up" with how they've always been? You might be experiencing passive influence or someone else being in co-conscious/co-front/front. Do you instead feel like you "should" be experiencing these things but aren't? Then you might find the word transplural better for ya.

- Do you feel like you're transplural because you don't feel the same level of definition & differentiation most systems talk about? Feel like you could be plural if it was less "me and other people" and more "me but separated into different vibes/categories"? Your system might be median or monoconscious. This is exactly why it took our host so long to figure it out, cuz we literally weren't partitionary before me LOL

- Does it matter? Either way, you feel drawn to being plural, right? There aint nothing wrong with that, and you can be a created system regardless. Labels are descriptors, not shackles- it's okay to realize you were wrong, or for things to change, or to use one label as you figure things out and then switching to another one if ya discover somethin better. The great thing about tulpamancy is that no matter what you discover around you, we'll still be right there along with you long as you give us the dedication first. If you know you're ready, then your tulpa will be with you thru anything you discover.

I will never forgive Tree house for the corhajat support. I guarantee you if it was localized properly Rhajat wouldn't be so despised. I doubt she'd be ede//leth popular. Not even close. But I feel she also wouldn't be one of the most hated fe characters.

During Fates' heyday it probably would've been met with flack cuz the big left-y opinion was the very liberal "uhm Rhajat thinking it's gross to marry a woman is PROBLEMATIC, all forms of love should be treated equally, UGH" way of thinking.

But over time, and as progressive decpitions of queer media and thinking have become more commonplace, it would've been looked at much more favorably. Gaygnst like Rhajat's can be weird to write if not handled well, but I'd say many gay, bi and pan people can very much relate and appreciate a character not only being told that their feelings for the same gender aren't gross, but are reciprocated. At least that's how my train of thought going from early 2016 to now was lol.

Plus from a writing standpoint it just really conveys Rhajat's character well. And correct me if I'm wrong, but not only did we lose Rhajat's unique F!Corrin support from localization, but I think they also did the same thing to M!Corrin's support with Siegbert to kind of equal it out? So we ended up losing two supports in the process.

on the surface i know that sadie was written as a woman who loved her husband romantically, but there’s something that draws me to the idea that they were each others beards, best friends and rly did love each other in the way lesbian/gay beards do, decidedly not wanting to deal with the rest of the world and knowing absolutely they were safe with each other. sharing the work. no children in their 30s

i think it’s cool there’s never a single line of dialogue to suggest jake was ever difficult or gave sadie shit or was a loving husband but had the usual drawbacks men at the time did for women usually, she never says ‘he knew how to make me mad but oh i loved him anyway’ or anything on that level. sadie talks abt him like they were complete equals and says he was the best man she knew, she speaks abt him with more respect of his person than how much she loved him, the way you’d think a widow would, (although it’s obvious she loved him) (in whatever way that is). i think that adds a lot to her writing and certainly makes her less 1 dimensional and tropey when written from that angle. of course straight men like this probably existed at the time, rethinking this with the idea that they were their beards just fits neatly in my head

and i know canon will always be there, but thinking abt her grief and her rage from the angle that they were each others beards really endears me to it in a new way. it could be that i’m a lesbian and find it hard to actually sympathise with straight characters and their relationships (it totally is) i also don’t want to see a woman/couple from the 1800s be nonconforming to the gender roles and standards of the time and instantly go hey they must be gay, bcz ofc they existed and very much still do BUT there’s a reason they usually were nonconformist. and that was cuz they were gay lol. it’s hard to walk the line between ‘hey i recognise some lgbt themes in this’ and ‘these characters are even just slightly out of the norm gender roles, but i don’t want to contribute to making the box cishets feel the need to fit into even smaller, knowing defying gender roles is not indicative of sexuality’ and yet. i want to do it bcz again. i recognise some lgbt themes in this. and imo it’s not mine or any lgbts responsibilities to worry about invalidating heterosexuals in the first place when they made their own box. anyway. i think sadie adler is a lesbian

Knowing you have gender is like knowing the sky is blue or knowing you like strawberries. I don't mean there's no doubt or it never changes, but it's something you know is true even if you can't explain it, and you go out of your way to engage with it (dress that way, look/sound that way, be called by those pronouns). I am a trans man and I am a man, I would not be happy with any other pronouns or any other title; even neutral ones wouldn't be the same, cuz I have gender. I've known a couple people who have talked about being afab but not really having strong feelings about their gender. I might be the wrong person to give advice about it cuz I was afab and didn't want to be, but I always tell them it sounds like they're agender - which, if you're not familiar, i understand to mean there is an absence of attraction to any specific gender identity or presentation. The sky is blue and you dont care what gender you are. You like or dislike strawberries and bananas equally, you have no desire to pick a favorite. Anyway that's just my unsolicited advice, but if you wanna talk about it, i have a lot of experience lol, and would be happy to chat

OP from reasonable assumption, was discussing the phenomenon of people who primarily drift toward male characters but have internalized misandry beating them out of shape cuz how could anything masculine be positive? We need to feminize him. Here warps the misandry into misogyny as you see tumblr users turning “post your favorite female character” posts into “well, he’s a woman to me.” Hence frustration, especially because often times character traits seen as charitable and tropable in male characters are received with annoyance or hatred when seen in female characters. Also, since I mostly deleted my OG post of Trazuil (I didn't like it so I wanted to remake it) I might as well dump all my info about xem right here on this ask. And heads up, there's mentions of violence and abuse up ahead in this post btw:

-to start off, Trazuil is a AMAB nonbinary person (he/him and xe/xem), he is also an arospec gay

-Xer autistic, borderline (like me), have PTSD, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, gender dysphoria, is a selective mute and also has ASPD

-He's a slasher (a killer who mutilates/kills people with knives, blades, chainsaws, etc; just wanting to save you the google search of the definition of a slasher)

-OG idea was that Trazuil was mostly going to be Nigerian; but I was also leaning that he would be Afro-Latine instead, so I went ahead and made him both afro-latine AND nigerian. He would be VERY fluent in both Spanish and Swahili.

-I was struggling a bit for this one, because I couldn't find a good VA that would fit Trazuil, so given that, my choice would have to be Joel Perez (aka, Valentino's VA from Hazbin Hotel). Of course, Trazuil wouldn't be acting like Valentino because there is a HUGE difference between the two. One is, of course, Valentino is an abusive rapist pimp while as Trazuil is a slasher with a dark past. Oh, and Trazuil would absolutely OBLITERATE Valentino when you put them in an room for an hour and half an hour in you'll be hearing Val's screams and his insides just PAINTED the entire room.

-Personality wise, he would be a mixed of Shadow the Hedgehog and Spawn from Todd McFarlane's comics. He would also be a bit of a foodie like Hannibal Lecter.

-Another difference would be between Val and Trazuil xemself would be that Val most likely has killed innocent people (cuz it was mentioned that Valentino in Episode 4 has killed past sex workers/employees of his that didn't do a good job before and/or during when Angel Dust arrived in Hell). Trazuil, on the other hand, is basically like Dexter Morgan; he mostly killed people that were murderers, abusers and rapists since he still has moral values and also because he was a victim himself. He only has killed a few innocent people only because they were pissing xem off.

-Xe are younger and somewhat shorter than Bezel; his age range would probably be mid-20's but he kinda acts like a bit of a grumpy old man lol

-Going back, he would often times keep the flesh of his victims for meals. Like being said before, he's a bit of a foodie like Hannibal, always finding creative ways to upgrade his meal. Sometimes, when the kill is slow he'll just hunt animal meat as a substitute.

-He wears mostly long-sleeved or any long clothing to cover his body because of the scars he has all over xer body. Xe's insecure the most about them since they were a reminder of the way he was abused--hence his gender + body dysphoria

-Mentioning, he was mostly abused by his family when he was young. Xe were raised by a group of fallen-angen-turned-powerful-demons that had a toxic tradition of viewing one's values. Hence, he was abused and almost left to die on Earth because his family exiled him and took away his powers. Afterwards, he was left to defend himself and mostly replied on sharp weapons.

-Trazuil mostly lives in the woods in his cabin, and he keeps all his weapons in a shed he built

-He knows color theory, astronomy, and vintage stuff really well; someone would ask "how do you make teal?" And he'll be like "Just use equal amounts of blue and green, that'll do." Along with having an knowledge for exo planets, black holes, etc.

-He's a big softie for dogs and other species in the canidae family

-Oh, and I should probably mention: whenever he's angry (not pissed) xe'll swear/mutter in either Spanish or Swahili as a way to censor himself. HOWEVER, I do imagine that he's a bit sadistic and unhinged when it comes to killing his victims. Like picture that one scene in the movie adaption to "The Shining" where Wendy is scared for her life while holding that bat to defend herself as Jack is walking up the stairs to her while saying "Wendy, dearest, love of my life...I'm not gonna hurt you...I'm just gonna bash your brains in" in the most intimidating way. Imagine that in the woods, but Trazuil is holding an axe and he's chasing his future victim.
