crazy how sometimes you'll be like 'damn i wish i had x thing that i really don't want or need to buy' and then you will find said thing abandoned on the floor after a concert

my hands and especially my nails always get super dry. of course it's getting worse now in the colder weather. it sucks because I really like having long nails - I always paint them and I prefer how they look long. but they're pretty much as thin as paper and they break very easily, so it's really hard to grow them out.

I've tried a lot of oils and stuff. I've tried using hand cream throughout the day. I've tried cream specifically for the cuticles. but, the issue with that has always been that I'm allergic to pretty much anything with perfume in it. my nose and face burn and itch for ages anytime I use anything like that. the only hand cream I've found that I can use (that isn't insanely expensive) doesn't have perfume, but the smell still makes my nose hurt.

so anyway, I finally did what I've seen recommended about a million times - I bought a bottle of jojoba oil. and it's just. fine. it's totally fine. I have to get used to the smell (it smells like food and furniture, weirdly), but it's not too strong, and it's been totally fine so far! I hope it'll stay that way. it would be really awesome if I could use this stuff on my nails every day without my face burning!

Spencer wrings his hands behind his back, shifting from one foot to the other unhappily. He hasn't felt this nervous since he was young —his PhDs have acted as a shield for years now. Even if he doesn't know what to do, he physically cannot be stupid. 

He feels pretty stupid. Less when you look up, smile blinding and sticky with gloss. He's thought about how it would feel to kiss you before and he tries desperately to push the thought away now, his hands shaking where they're hidden. 

"Hey, Spencer Reid," you say, lightly teasing as you wave him toward you. "How are you?" 

"I'm good." 

"Yeah?" You gesture at the empty seat in front of you. "Are you having lunch?" 

The bureau cafeteria is less of a cafeteria in the kitchen sense and more of a staff room, though hot food is served at the very back. There are couches toward the patio of an outdoor area to the left. You sit at one of the tables near the doors. The air is cold around his ankles as he sits with you. 

"No, I– I came down for coffee, but the jug is empty." It's a bad lie. Luckily you have no idea that there's a kitchen in the BAU offices. "You're not?" 

You turn your laptop screen to him. "I ate my lunch at my desk. I'm just catching up with my show." Your laptop has stickers around the screen, silver shiny stars and tiny pink hearts that look like they're made of jelly. There's a closed bottle of nail polish resting near the keyboard. "And I'm gonna touch up my nails, too. They're always chipping." 

"They look perfect to me," Spencer says. 

You beam at him, beatific, so, so pretty, he could die. He might. "Thanks, honey. You'd look cute with painted nails, have you ever thought about it?" 

Spencer honestly forgets about his nails. He should take better care of them. He thinks about hiding them under the desk. "I don't think I could do it." 

"No one's good at it, at first. I'd paint them for you, if you wanted. I have a couple of things in my bag." 

Spencer's relieved to present freshly trimmed nails to you for painting. Your polish is a light blue colour, milky, and he assumes it'll be the one you use on him, but you decide to ruin his life, taking his hand into one of yours. You hold his fingers in a way that presents the nail as you brush cuticle oil around the edges of his nails with a small pen brush. You chatter as you do in your way, all sweet and gentle in mirror of your touch. 

He's proud of himself for keeping his cool. To have you touching him for so long, so kindly, to have your attention, it has him squirming with a mixture of pleasure and horror. He wants to be seen by you but he doesn't know if he likes what you're looking at. 

"You have really lovely hands," you say, using the tip of one of your nails to scrape stray wet polish off of his skin, "do you play piano?" 

"You can tell?" he asks. 

"Pianist's fingers," you say. "That's a thing, isn't it?" 

"I haven't played much since I was younger. I got distracted by other stuff." 

"Maths," you surmise. "And criminology?" 

Everything. He pushed away a want for human connection with books and education until it got too much. Even the wisest of honeybees will brave heavy rain for a beautiful flower, and that's sort of how he feels about you. He knows it's stupid, knows it's doomed, but he couldn't not try to speak to you. You're the prettiest girl he's ever seen, all your lip colours and shimmery eyeshadows, the chirpy way you talk, the earnestness of your please and thank yous. 

Your hands. The silver ring on your index finger dotted with tiny pink stones. Your bracelets. The smell of your perfume and your soft sweaters. 

"Done," you announce, an uncharacteristic hesitance to your tone. "Are they okay?" 

You've done a perfect job. "They're so neat. Thank you. I– I love it."

On a quiet afternoon, Damian Wayne and his girlfriend sat comfortably on the living room couch. The soft evening light filtered through the windows, illuminating the space warmly. Damian, wearing a tight grey t-shirt and dark sweatpants, had his head tilted back, face relaxed as he watched his girlfriend, focused and precise, paint his nails a dark blue. It was his favorite color, and although he had shown a bit of resistance to the idea at first, he now found himself enjoying these small moments of connection.

His girlfriend, sitting next to him with her legs crossed, held his hand carefully, precisely painting each nail. The polish had an elegant, deep shine, almost hypnotic. Every now and then, she would throw him a playful smile when their eyes met, and he would simply raise an eyebrow, but the small twitch at the corner of his mouth betrayed the fact that he was not, in fact, bothered by it at all.

On the coffee table in front of them was an assortment of skincare products: a couple of sheet masks, a jar of hydrating serum, and creams she had insisted he try. Although Damian hadn’t understood the point of such a detailed skincare routine at first, he was now carried away by her enthusiasm. She had delicately applied a mask to his face a short while earlier, and he had stood still, allowing her to pamper him, even if he found it a little funny.

“Don’t move so much,” she murmured with a smile, running the polish brush over her last nail.

“I don’t,” Damian replied, in that stoic tone he always used, but his eyes sparkled with amusement.

The smell of polish hung in the air, mixed with the subtle scent of the hand cream she had just applied. When she was done, she blew gently on her nails to speed up the drying process, then leaned back in satisfaction, observing her work.

“They look good on you,” she commented, admiring how the dark tone contrasted with his brown skin.

Damian looked at his hands curiously, the long, strong fingers now decorated with the bright polish. It wasn’t something he would have imagined doing, but with her, everything seemed easier, even fun.

“If you say so,” he replied, shrugging slightly, though the ghost of a smile still played on his lips.

While they waited for his nails to dry completely, she pulled out a small bottle of cuticle oil and began applying it to his hands as well, moving with the same careful precision. this 8 step self care routine is meant to be super DUPER over the top but its intended more so to make u feel like the goddess that u are and to simply pamper, and spoil urself as u should...plus you'll smell like a cupcake after 🎀

warning, LONG post ahead but thats because i tried to be thorough and clear on the steps of this 8-step routine.✨🧁

STEP ONE ; ICING UR FACE

the benefits of facial icing include more radiant skin, helps with spider lines, and blemish control. if u wanna know more about icing ur face i recommend u read this.

but typically you'll fill up a bowl with some water and ice and dunk ur face in the ice in 60 second intervals (thats how i like to do it) or you take an ice cube and run that on ur skin.

STEP TWO ; OILING UR HAIR

i personally dont recommend oiling ur hair overnight, once u apply ur hair oil into ur hair let it sit for 30 minutes - 4 hours depending on how much time u have on ur hands, but if ur gonna do the 8 step self care ritual i would assume u had some time.

use the scalp massaging tool for blood flow to ur head and MASSAGE. imagine all of ur stress seeping out of ur body. it might sound strange, but when im doing this step i imagine myself rearranging and organizing my thoughts 💀.

while ur doing this whole routine i recommend playing an affirmation tape in the background, or ur favorite playlist. 🧁

STEP THREE ; MASKS

next i'll use a spray bottle and wet my hair before going in with my hair mask, and once thats in ur hair use the claw clip to keep ur hair up and out of ur face.

now its time for the facial mask and i recommend keeping kind of an ARSENAL of masks, whether its a liquid or clay mask or sheet masks just have them on u because i usually do face masks of any sort 1-2 times a week for my LUSTROUS glow.

while u have the hair and face masks in, its a good time to do some dry brushing to remove dead skin cells and improve blood circulation. some other masks that u can do to be EXTRA are lip masks and under eye masks.

STEP FOUR ; IN THE SHOWER

wash ur hair as you would usually do, use the body scrub before using a body wash that has similar tones to the body scrub (this is called scent layering) and while in the shower i recommend to do a shower meditation.

if y'all r interested i'll make a shower meditation guide and u can record ur own voice doing the meditation so u can use it ✨

while ur in the shower make sure to be meticulous and take ur time while u wash ur body. do double cleansing so that u can ensure that you're squeaky clean.

now is also the time to shave if u like to do that and remember use a body scrub BEFORE u shave and once ur out of the shower to use a body oil to prevent ingrowns and to just have a smoother shave in general.

STEP FIVE ; OUT OF THE SHOWER

use ur body oil and ur body lotion, this kind of goes along with the before bed slugging notion which gives the SOFTEST most amazing skin in the morning so i highly recommend it.

HOT TIP FROM HONEY ; using a warmed up towel adds to the whole spa experience so i def recommend that, warming up towels/blankets/robes makes me feel so cozy and toasty 🧋✨

the formula for before bed slugging is (body oil + body lotion + a thick body butter/cream)

STEP SIX ; REPAIR AND REPLENISH

once your out of the shower and you’ve slugged ur body, use a leave in conditioner to repair and soothe damaged hair.

use a face milk

cuticle oil

now’s the time to use pimple patches

and things of that nature in general

this ensures that ur being absolutely meticulous and replenishing ur body the proper way. taking care of ur base so that u can make it absolutely GLOW ✨

STEP SEVEN ; FACIAL MASSAGE

use a gua sha and any other facial massage tools to help blood circulation and just be EXTRA. to sculpt ur face like the goddess you are.

facial massage stimulates blood circulation, promoting oxygen flow and nutrient delivery to the skin cells. facial massage helps to release the tension held in the facial muscles, alleviating stress lines and promoting a more youthful appearance.

AND if ur consistent with facial massage, you'll can enhance skin elasticity AND diminish fine lines.

STEP EIGHT ; YOGA AND STRETCHES

nothing feels better then massaging and stretching stiff limbs, especially if u have pains or aches in ur body. look up a follow along, super light, yoga routine or a stretching routine.

i think that a rly good stretch is the perfect way to end ur super duper over the top 8 step self care routine 💗🎀

he realizes it's more intentional when you bring a bottle of thin oil to one of your lunchtime chats. it's a small vial, really, and the oil has no scent. you smear some onto his hands and silently work it in. you're diligent, rubbing between his fingers up to his cuticles, and then down the back of his hands. you massage the excess into his wrist.

“Let me do it.” Jason said. “Fine.” You said. He cleaned the water then you two switched places and you sat down. You put your feet in the water and let your feet soak. After the soak you put your feet in the tub. Jason scrubbed your feet and you tried not to giggle and squirm. “It’s ok baby I’m almost done.” Jason said. You giggled. “Alright I’m done beautiful.” Jason said then washed your feet clean. “Thank you baby.” You said. “Of course doll.” Jason said then dried off your feet. “Now we put on feet mask.” You said. “Feet mask?” Jason asked. You nodded then reached under the sink cabinet and pulled out two feet mask packets. “Oh.” Jason said and took a packet.

You gave Jason your phone and he typed in your password then ordered the pizza and made sure his card was charged. “Alright pizza and breadsticks have been ordered.” Jason said.

“Breadsticks too?” You asked. “Yes. Breadsticks are necessary.” Jason said. You nodded your head. After fifteen minutes the two of you took off the mask. double cleanse your body! wash first with a bar soap, preferably with a wash cloth or wash glove to help with exfoliating all the dirt and sweat from the day. and replace your cloths every day. that’s why i recommend them more than using a regular loofah. those things build up so much bacteria, you’re better off using something you can wash every day. silicone brushes are great too, but do replace them after a few months. scrub well, everywhere. don’t forget neglected areas such as behind the ears, between finger & toes, belly button, etc. finish off with a body wash.

for the lady bits, keep it simple with unscented bar soap only. washing only your vulva. you want to make sure you’re cleansing between all the folds and around (and yes i know, never inside). as controversial as it is, water is not enough. sorry, argue with yourself.

hydrosilk trimstyle razor is a fav for your bikini area. billie razors are also great.

double shampoo your scalp. you’ll notice a difference. add a scalp massager into the mix!

on hair wash days, don’t forget to also wash/disinfect your hair brushes.

you can make a homemade body scrub with honey + brown sugar. lips too! or just use a exfoliating glove.

change your bedsheets weekly!!!

dry brush your body before stepping into your shower. do a few body lymphatic massages after too with a wooden body massager.

you should be brushing your teeth two times a day. flossing as well. don’t forget to give your tongue a clean. invest in a tongue scraper. and mouthwash! therabreath is my fav brand. teeth whiten every 6 months or so, depending on if needed or not. also replace your tooth brushes/heads often as recommended (every 3-4 months).

moisturize everywhere after every shower/bath. i love to lather with both body oil & lotion. don’t forget the neglected areas such as your hands, feet, elbows, etc.

i’m a two deodorant kind of girl. it’s definitely not necessary to use two, but as someone who loves smelling clean, i use both stick & spray.

as repetitive as it sounds, what you eat plays a major part in your overall scent. make sure you’re fuelling your body with good foods. hydration is also important.

find a signature perfume that suits your skin’s ph level. even better if you find a body lotion of that same scent or similar, enhances the smell! extra tip, spray some on your comb before brushing out your hair.

use safe feminine wipes for bathroom use, rael is a great brand for wipes + pads. even better, use a peri bottle.

something i think a lot of people forget to mention, stay on top of your laundry. attitude laundry detergent is great but any works fine. i also like using baking soda or vinegar to remove any odours, especially for my towels. keep small organza bags with lavender inside your closet/drawers to keep the freshness (i’ve seen people also use scent beads but i don’t use those personally). fold them as soon as they’re dry and put it away to avoid wrinkly clothes. spot treat your stains as soon as possible.

you don’t need to get a manicure all the time. however, do maintain your nails by trimming them often, cuticle oiling and scrubbing underneath nails with a small brush in the shower.

build a skincare routine that works for your skin type. keep it minimal, you don’t need an excessive amount of products. cleanser, exfoliant, serum or moisturizer is more than enough, with the occasional spot treatment & mask. not necessary, but i also like shaving my face with a face razor. definitely not something for everyone, as some do claim it makes them break out! so keep that in mind. gua shua your face for lymphatic drainage and overall skin glow.

keep your home clean. a lot of people don’t realize that you can bring around lingering odours from your home onto you.

also, ladies, pay attention to the men you’re being intimate with. make sure they practice good hygiene themselves (this applies for everyone really!). after intimacy, make sure to clean yourself off well too. your ph will thank you. if you’re concerned that your ph levels are off, speak with your gyno/doctor!

pretty soft feet scrub and mask ❤︎︎

1/2 cup light roast coffee grounds and 2 tbsp lemon juice

pretty self explanatory. simply mix this combo in a stainless bowl. after cleaning and soaking your feet in mildly hot water till softened, scrub with this mixture up to your calves. focus on your ankles and cuticles!! then let sit for about 5-10 minutes before rinsing (you can cover your feet with plastic wraps)

rinse with warm water and cover feet in your cream or lotion of choice.

i do this all year but the most during the summer since we’re wearing pretty open toed heels and sandals. 🎀

bright and glowing skin cream ❤︎︎

1 cup olive oil, 1 cup softened shea butter and a few drops of whatever essential/fragrance oil you choose

simply whisk or blend ingredients until whipped and soft

store in a mason jar and keep at low-room temperature

this after a long bath and good exfoliation, has my skin so soft and luminescent for over 24 hours 🎀

weightless scalp rinse ❤︎︎

1 tsp of lemon juice, 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1/2 cup of warm water

wash your hair paying close attention to your scalp

rinse well and apply the rinse to your scalp with a nozzle tip bottle

lightly scrub and rub your scalp with the rinse and leave on for about 3-5 minutes and rinse with warm water

be sure to moisturize your your strands and ends with whatever you choose

during the summer my hair gets extremely sweaty, and greasy and after a while a wash just doesn’t break it down well enough. this rinse ALWAYS flushes my scalp out so well 🎀

1 banana, olive oil, raw aloe vera gel, jojoba oil, honey

mash together well and coat slightly dampened hair in the mask

leave on for about 15 minutes (i go even longer sometimes)

rinse well with cool water

then wash and condition

my hair is always so soft and bouncy after i do this. i usually do it when getting ready to do a wash and go 🎀

Hi! Here is a list of beauty treatments on a budget so you can feel your best without spending much.

Hair : oil on length and ends 2x a week for an hour at least. It protects your hair when you're shampooing, nourish it and makes it softer. I mix almond oil, grapeseed oil and jojoba oil. I also put a few drops of essential oils for it to smell nice, mix everything in a dropper bottle.

Nails : heavy hand cream & cuticle oil every night. You're gonna have very soft hand, helps with aging for your hand as well and your nails are going to be the best version of themselves. Don't forget to put oil under the free edge of your nails. For hand creams I recommend : Khiel's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve and The Body Shop Hemp cream. For nail oil : The Body Shop Almond nail & cuticle oil and homemade mix of castor oil + jojoba oil + essential oil.

Body : body cream after every shower plus a little massage (especially on your legs). It can be annoying but it helps your skin so much and the massage helps with blood circulation.

Face : EXFOLIATE. twice a week, followed by a very hydrating face mask. Works wonder. Of course do your skincare routine.

I also recommend to eat healthy and balanced (yes, eat that burger on your sunday brunch, remember to eat your veggies for dinner) and to move your body (at home workout, the gym, going on very long walks, running... possibilities are endless).

Work this week has been awful, your boss had been on your case all week, it just felt like everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Luckily for you, it was Friday, which meant you were finally able to wash away the week- quite literally.

You had spent the evening taking care of yourself, laying in a long hot bath with your favourite peach bath salts while your hair mask worked its magic.

Stepping out of the bath feeling like a new woman, wrapping yourself in a satin nightgown before you began painting your toes. Applying some cuticle oil to your fingernails, massaging it in.

Hearing your door knock you walk over to check in the peephole. To your surprise, it was Matt.

Beaming as you opened the door to him. “Well hello there.”

“Hello, my Angel, may I come in?” He sweetly asks with his hands behind his back.

“Of course.” Kissing his lips sweetly as he enters.

“These are for you… I heard about your week, I’m sorry.” He empathetically grins as his head tilts to the side.

Beaming wider when he pulls a beautiful bouquet of flowers from behind him. “Matt… they’re gorgeous. Thank you so much.” Pecking quickly all over his face.

“You’re always welcome, I think they’re your favourite- but I can’t actually tell.” He jokes in an attempt to make you feel better.

His joke caught you off guard which made a laugh burst from behind your lips. “They are. Thank you.” Kissing his cheek as you walked towards the kitchen, filling up a vase before trimming the stems and arranging them. “You’re just in time.” You say while placing the vase on your dining table.

“For what?” He questions, sounding intrigued.

“Masks.” You giggled as you paced up towards him.

His smile matches your excitement. You both loved having these kinds of nights, some guys are too insecure to enjoy some pampering, but not Matt. He loved it when you acted and spoke to him like one of your girlfriends. It was quite a bit of a guilty pleasure, except neither of you felt guilty when doing it.

“Have a shower first and I’ll get everything ready.” You gushed. “I’ll get your stuff from your draw.” Smiling as you ran into your bedroom, collecting some bits and pieces for Matt. “You want to stay over?”

“Great, thanks, and yes I’d love to.” Grinning at you while he kicked off his shoes and removed his coat.

“I haven’t moved anything in there so it should all still be the same, I’ll go get the snacks ready.” Kissing his nose before leaving the room.

Filling the tray with all kinds of goodies; cut up fruit, chocolates and other nibbles. Opening a bottle of chilled rosé, holding two glasses in hand as you balanced everything to the coffee table. Setting everything down, lighting some candles and incense.

Matt enters the living room while he put on his t-shirt, grinning at you before taking a seat on the sofa.

“All squeaky clean?” You joke as you unscrewed the container of your favourite hair mask.

“Indeed.” He leans over to kiss you tenderly.

“Chin up.” Sitting atop of him, straddling him as you rubbed the conditioner into his hair, being sure to massage his scalp.

Wiping your fingers on the hand towel on your lap, you began to delicately swipe on a moisturising mask. Smiling as you did so.

Doing the same to yourself, gently applying the mask. Getting off Matt’s thighs, washing your hands before you jumped onto the sofa next to him.

“May I offer you some wine, my good friend?” You jest, holding the glasses and bottle.

“Most certainly, kind chap.” He jokes back, extending a hand.

You had this fun ongoing joke where you’d speak in an odd and old posh voice, you didn’t know how it started, but you both couldn’t stop doing it.

Filling his glass halfway, doing the same with yours, maybe a little more for you, oops. Slumping back into the sofa with your legs curled up under you.

“Snacks?” Turning to look at him after taking a sip from your glass.

“Oh, yeah.” Digging into the fruit with his fork. “Good selection.” He smiles in between his chew.

“I know right.” You say with a mouthful of mixed fruit.

“What were you going to watch?” He asks as he dug into the bag of chocolate.

“I was going to watch real housewives, but I don’t know if you want to listen to them bicker.” You chuckle.

“Yeah put it on, I wanna know what happened after that dinner.”
