Rod Hunt was commissioned by Pentagram to create an architectural cutaway building illustration of the University of Utah’s Rice-Eccles Stadium for University of Utah Magazine showcasing the facilities in the new Ken Garff University Club.

From gourmet bites to social delights, the Ken Garff University Club adds a fresh spark to our evolving campus scene.  

Get to Know the Club. The Ken Garff University Club operates in designated spaces on all three floors of the south end zone building. Some areas of the building are closed to club members. On game days, only football season ticket holders and athletics donors can access the building.

Restaurant Level Restaurant (A) and bar (B) with daily specials and a seasonally rotating menu; (C) Hospitality breakfast station open M-F; (D) AV-capable board‑ room for private events; (E) Patios for dining and events in warmer months.

Suite Level (F) Private suite available to work in; (G) Spaces available to rent for private events.

Learn from Japanese House Assignment

Big life in small houses - split level house

The house is only two stories high but contains five different half-levels threaded together with two sets of staircases. The design allows the family to circulate the small house in various ways. The pitched roof that can blend the environment with the interior brings more light to the dwelling.

This split-level Japanese house gives me insight that a house still could be built, although located in a limited site area. The use of different level on every floor made the room looks more spacious and large. Meanwhile, it still looks like a regular height-level house on the outside.

It is quite a heavy teamwork project as the house has different height levels for each floor, so we must calculate first to know the size. This project led me to understand more about people's characters, how to work in a group, and to use shadow skills to make the drawing more presentable and fit the black-and-white theme where we decided to use.

I am finally back with a new video where I am showing you all the mods I use in my functional high school, trying new mods, experimenting with different gameplay ideas and even attempting to edit mods in simpe like an elite hacker. My goal is to have a high school lot that is mostly autonomous and doesn't need too much micromanaging. I did two speedbuilds of the school some months ago and now I FINALLY have the school packaged up for you. Follow along with my video if you want to set up the school how I do or get some mod ideas! It's a big rar, a big lot with lots of stuff. But if your computer can't handle tons of clutter, I hopefully made it easy for you to sort stuff out. In the rar you will find three folders along with the sims2pack: -build cc -cc -maxis recolors Each folder has a sub-folder for any required master meshes so be sure you grab those if you are picking and choosing. Inside the cc folder there is a subfolder called "clutter." If you can't handle tons of clutter just don't include that folder. If you want the school just like how I have it then just put all of the included folders in your game. If there's one or two things I missed plz forgive me bc packaging this lot was an absolute nightmare. huge thank you to everyone who's beautiful cc i used <3

obligatory bianca post. this episode we've gotten some tasty tasty new scraps:

bianca is now a producer on vip, effectively reversing the workplace power dynamic between her and the host that we saw in season 1 -- now, bianca is calling the shots.

bianca is the one who drives herself and the host to work and back. this makes such perfect sense to my brain that i'm struggling to find commentary to add beyond the facts of the matter. (this does mean that the host leaves set sometimes, though. which is nice to know!) (i like to think about how awkward these car rides must be)

i also want to make some meta notes, because after bianca's first appearance i made some bad assumptions about how filming her cutaways worked.

i had assumed that they maybe had talia on set for a day of filming and cut to her in the moment. in retrospect this made zero sense and i don't know what i was thinking; it's a lot more likely that they filmed these cutaways after the fact the way they do with every other cutaway in the show. like... obviously. this is actually great because if it's true, it means it's possible we'll be seeing more such cutaways.

one bianca appearance is a treat. a second is Setup. it'll be interesting to see if this is something they continue to build up every episode until we hit... some sort of breaking point? something that forces bianca into the interview (on a planned day when talia is on set)? i'm not sure yet. i'm very excited, though.

It is such a wild time to be watching QL, there is SO MUCH every day. And a lot of it is really good?!

Today I watched EIGHT different shows, and of them, I was really happy with the episode for all but one. Here are a few words about the ones I had a good time with today:

Addicted Heroin Thailand crossed the first hurdle of adaptation by including the kidnapping scene. Looks like they're continuing to stay true to the source. I appreciated that this scene in particular retained the emotional core while toning down the SA threat (though Hero's desire is still very much present). This is a solid adaptation so far!

Reverse 4 U is using the powers so well, and I am loving the sister relationship, especially how they tease one another around their powers. It's also building to the relationship turn between Four and Wa in a believable way, which I'm really enjoying.

Peaceful Property is delightful and as @lurkingshan already articulated so well, I love what is being set up re: inequality. Plus this show is just so funny! it's balancing these two threads really well and doing a good job maintaining the haunting-of-the-week energy so far.

Love is like a poison had an incredible first episode, I love the effects and cutaways in this show, and the way it is making fun of its protagonist is so much fun. Ryoma is a dork with main character syndrome and I am obsessed with him. Curious how they're going to turn around this setup into a romance!

I Saw You In My Dream was a baller episode, @my-rose-tinted-glasses wrote about how great it is to see a conversation like this between friends as well as between lovers; all of the conversations in this episode were good (between both couples, between the besties, and between the parents). I really appreciate how, as many folks have said, everyone in a relationship in this episode wants to have sex, and the barriers to having sex are real and discussed openly. Big fan of everything in this ep. We've really departed from the dreams, which I think we need to get back to, but this ep was worth the deviation.

The On1y One continues to be incredible; Thank you in particular to Faiza (@usertoxicyaoi) who has been giffing like mad to capture every important conversation in this episode which was so many of them. The one about moving to the dorms together made me misty fr. I love when youths who did not get a chance to have a childhood get to blow bubbles.

Unlock Your Love also started today, I really enjoyed the very pulpy and trope-filled previous show this team put together (Lucky My Love) so I've been excited for this. We have a workplace GL filled with canon bisexuals, a grumpy/sunshine dynamic with a history from college, and a playgirl. I'm so seated.

I don't usually do a roundup post like this but it just hit me how much good television I got to watch today, and how rare it is that I have this good a time with almost everything I'm watching, and I needed to capture the moment.

Tomorrow, all 6 episodes of A Time of Fever drop on iQIYI, as well as How to Make a Million Before Grandma Dies on Netflix, and that's in addition to the episodes of The Onl1y one, The Two of Us, Monster Next Door, Twilight Out of Focus, and probably Seoul Blues that will be dropping too.

I'm really having trouble keeping up with everything airing, everything I want to write about it, and everything being said about the shows on tumblr. It's the best possible problem to have!

How different are Dracula's Demeter and TLVOTD?

Oof. Okay. This is going to hurt me as a staunch THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER believer, but.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter is very much the better story. By a wide margin.

Spoilers for The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Dracula's Demeter, and Dracula below

Just speaking on differences, TLVOTD does sadly tuck in that Universal Pictures nonsense about ~the sun hurts vampires~ and sacrifices some of the Captain's coolness and giving the Romanians and the Roma any respect due to the origins of the poor chick who got boxed up as a bloodbag stowaway. But it is still a very very well done Dracula as an Actual Goddamn Monster horror film. Even the close of the movie--yes, with more random action slapped on for cinematic reasons--leaves a door open for one last knife twist as OC Protagonist stalks off into the shadows to hunt Dracula down...

...and possibly accidentally-brilliantly nodding to a certain scene in the novel where the gang enters the Count's Piccadilly house and finds a bowl of bloodied water. RIP.

It's a good scary story and it built something enjoyable out of the Demeter chapter's foundation. Definitely a refreshing departure from the constant sexypire barrage of Draculas.

Dracula's Demeter feels like a con job by comparison.

Specifically because it opens so promisingly. It's very obvious that the author read Dracula front to back and loved what he read! He uses tons of direct lines from it! He has period accurate details dappled throughout for the Demeter's ship and crew! He does an admirable job of building up his own two Requisite Guy and Girl Stowaway Romance OCs so they can do Meaningful Things, just like TLVOTD's duo do! Dracula is sinister and erudite and--credit where it's due--delivers an absolutely nightmarish demise to poor Petrofsky. Holy shit.

With all that, you can forgive the kind of rough editing and the way that (parentheses) and ALL CAPS ACTION WORDS get sprinkled throughout like someone who just peeled their stuff straight from Ao3. It's fine, it's fun. At first.

And then shit goes downhill and straight into Dracufetishland: Naughty Nautical Edition.

Because it turns out that where TLVOTD had Required Girl Character get to be a whole person and not a gossamer-dressed sexy lamp (even having been chomped), DD's Required Girl gets chomped and immediately goes full 'lol my human boyfriend is a loser compared to Count Fuckula,' in a way I might forgive if we were going for some unrelated vampire's story--but no. This is a Dracula story and she's in full Coppola mode.

She gets turned, ogles what's left of her reflection so we can talk about how hard and visible her nips are in a borrowed shirt, gets Dracuhorny, and ditches her boyfriend.

And then, when Earnest Englishman Boyfriend tries to burn the ship and save the day, he gets burned alive, and then Dracula orders Vampire Girlfriend to garrote the poor guy to death while wearing the convenient billowy white dress she brought onboard. And she does. Happily. There's not even a crumb of will or even dissent left in her the way we see with the goddamn Weird Sisters who were with him for centuries and actively tried to steal Jonathan from their master***, or even Bloofer Lady Lucy reaching for Art.

Just a pointless fuck you of a death that added nothing.

Followed by Dracula snapping Vampire Girlfriend's neck, double-kills her, and chucks her into the sea while chuckling about how silly it is to think that he would want a companion, ha ha!

Yes, I am also staring at the camera The Office-style, thinking about -checks notes- the Weird Sisters, Jonathan, Lucy, a random ass girl in Piccadilly, Mina...

Oh, that Dracula. Such a loner.

And all that leads to the Captain with the rosary--WHICH ISN'T EVEN HIS--and the last few chapters which are just pure padding about Dracula shoving the Demeter to shore. After getting a cutaway scene to Dracula hopping into Lucy's brain somehow to grope her while Mina watches. For reasons.

The book is, in short, pointless.

The OCs are pointless. Them being on the boat is pointless. Nothing they do, nothing the author has the crew or Dracula do, adds literally anything to what was already in the Demeter section of the book. There is no meat here, only voluptuous gristle.

And the thing is! The infuriating thing is! Because this is a Dracula*** story, it is still technically more respectful than the bulk of other writing and media about Dracula, because so much of it is doubly extra-fetished never-read-the-book never-liked-the-book utter garbage.

So I still have to give it 3/5 stars as a Dracula story. 1.5-2 in isolation.

Anyway, I'm going to go re-watch TLVOTD now

REDESIGNING MAGGOTT

We bugged out for this round with the marvelous MAGGOTT! Born as Japheth in South Africa, the young boy's digestive system mutated into two large slug-like creatures, which can crawl out of his body, eat anything, and provide him with enhanced strength. The D-lister to end all D-listers, often appearing on lists of "Worst X-Men" or "Most Forgotten X-Men," we thought it was finally time to give Maggott his due. He appeared briefly in Children of the Atom and more recently in his own X-Men Unlimited story!

Our team embraced their inner digestion slugs and had fun updating Maggott for the modern day. He's only really had one notable costume to date, but is easily identifiable for his blue skin and, well, his maggots. See what everyone did, and make sure to follow them all on social media!

"Maggott is my absolute favorite D-Lister X-Man who I've wanted to redesign for a long time! I wanted to give him a more streamlined and grown-up look. It seems essential for him to have a bare torso so Eenie and Meenie can crawl in and out of his body, so I gave him a cute cutaway that Emma Frost might be jealous of. He has some chitinous armor and details, and his sunglasses mimic the worm eyes. Costume colors are fairly simple to let his bugs and skin tones take center stage!"

"This redesign takes it's inspiration from Maggott's recent storyline in Dark X-Men. Having joined the Morlocks, Japheth doesn't have access to all the luxuries that some higher profile heroes have, so he's had to build a uniform from scratch. As his slugs, Eanie and Meanie shed their highly durable armor plating, Maggott has been attaching it to his outfit to give his body extra protection. Designed more for function than style, his outfit includes an undershirt that can easily open and be snapped closed for when the slugs emerge from his stomach. it also incorporates a hooded sleeveless duster jacket, and shades that are inspired by his slugs' eyes."

"Maggott was a fun one to redesign, as I feel like you can put lots of personality into his look. I don't see Maggott as being a "uniformed" X-Man, he marches to the beat of his own drum. I grew his wee forehead tuft out a bit, into an undercut loc ponytail situation, added in some shoulder pieces that resemble insect mounds, a tiger striped tee with Miny Moe on it (in reference to Eanie and Meany) that's been chewed away at the mid section due to the boys jumping in and out of his stomach and some worker jeans and boots, also had to feature the red glasses!"
