Before the international break, you and your girlfriend, Amanda, hadn't seen each other for just under two months.

You both play for the Swedish National Team but you played for Hammarby whereas Amanda played for Arsenal.

Over the international break, you and Amanda finally got to see each other again.

You felt at home when you with Amanda. You were in your happy place. You finally wore a real smile on your face.

You both played in the matches against Switzerland and Spain in the nations league.

After the unfortunate losses, you and Amanda had to say goodbye to each other.

It was an emotional moment.

You were both used to it, being far from each other, but it was hard. You both knew that when you started dating.

You returned to Sweden, to your normal life.

Waking up, going to training, FaceTiming Amanda at night, and then going to sleep.

It's what your day always consisted of.

Until that changed just a few days after your return from international break.

You currently had no upcoming games due to the winter break, but everyone was to still come to training so you're prepared after the break.

Whilst you were at training, your manager took you aside and took you into his office to talk to you.

And that's why you were currently sat inside of the Emirates stadium in an Arsenal shirt, a shirt you'd soon be playing in.

Your old manager had explained to you during the meeting that Arsenal had put in a record breaking bid for you, a bid that Hammarby accepted.

You were now waiting inside the stadium waiting to watch Arsenal vs Chelsea.

The day prior, you had arrived at the stadium to sign and confirm your new contract.

You hadn't told Amanda you had signed, you were planning on surprising her today at the match.

It had only been a few days yet you felt like you hadn't seen her in weeks.

You couldn't wait to hold her again, to kiss her.

The match had gone in arsenals favour.

With a 4-1 win over Chelsea, you got to experience the atmosphere from a winning emirates stadium.

The fans chanted from kickoff until the final whistle.

It was safe to say that you couldn't wait to play in front of them.

As the team did their lap of the stadium, you caught Stina's eye and a smile appeared on her face.

You watched her run over to Amanda, pointing at wear you sat.

You had decided to sit amongst the fans, front row so you could access the pitch easily when Amanda saw you.

And it's a good job you chose to do that, because the next minute, Amanda was flinging herself over the barrier and clinging onto you.

"Hi, min kärlek." You whispered in her ear as you continued to hug her.

"What are you doing here? You should be training, in Sweden." Amanda asked, confused, as you pressed light kisses on her face.

"I am training. I'm learning all my teammates chants. What's McCabe's one again? We've got McCabe, Katie McCabe..." You tell her and the confusion on her face expands.

"Teammates? Your teammates? Kärlek, do you mean my teammates?" Amanda questioned and rests a hand on your cheeks, rubbing her thumb gently.

"No, I definitely mean mine. Baby, I'm moving to arsenal. I signed my contract yesterday." You revealed and once again, Amanda jumped onto you, tears welling in her eyes.

"This is incredible, Y/N. We can finally be together."

"I know, babe. I can't wait for our new adventure together." You said and put her down, leaning in to place your lips on hers, receiving a loud cheer from your new teammates.

"I love you so much." She told you after you pulled apart.

"I love you too."

"Come onto the pitch, I'll introduce you to our teammates."

Do you still feel doubt before every acting role?

- Yes, there is a real wrestling match before each project and the wrestling match becomes more aggressive the more extreme character I play. This role, as Count Orlok in Nosferatu , is the most extreme that I have done. It was a transformation into something so far beyond myself that I didn't know if I could handle it. I wasn't sure if I could go that far, let alone make it true. There were a lot of nerves and a lot of self-doubt. But I never feel it when we film. I work hard during the preparations to be as free as possible once we start. Furthermore, Count Orlok is a character who is not uncertain for a second throughout the film. He just oozes confidence, control and dominance.

The voice is very prominent in the role – how did you come up with it?

- I worked with an opera singer to get my voice as deep as possible. My brother Gustaf visited the filming and sat in one of the chairs in front of a monitor with headphones. Our mics were on between takes and all he heard was a dark roar. (Bill leans back on the sofa and imitates a monstrous half-singing)

- I was sitting and doing some kind of Mongolian throat singing to activate the voice and Gustaf said: "What the hell are they doing carpentry here?"

Haha.

- It was a pitch black hole to dive into this character's psyche. He is an occult magician, a 350-year-old vampire, trying to enter his perspective on the world and the universe was quite dark.

Do the roles rub off on you?

- Yes, you spend twelve hours a day in some form of madness and illusion. In relation to this monster, it was impossible not to discolor.

What stuck?

- Some things that are far too personal to tell, haha. I was very grateful when we finished the project and I got to leave it. Then it felt like Orlok's claws finally released my soul.

Is it usually like that?

- After working on the role of Pennywise in It, I had very strange dreams that were about my relationship with the character and that it was me . There was something very revealing about that role. But with Orlok it was different when we finished filming: when he left me it was just freezing cold, it was dead silent. I am very grateful for that.

Acting is said to be no recipe for personal happiness.

- I don't think acting is good for mental stability. Having said that, this is also what I'm starting on, I'm starting on the pain a little bit.

- Maybe it will get better over the years. As a young actor, it's more about life and death and you almost end up killing yourself. I can look at my dad who has a healthy attitude towards acting. I was talking to him about this recently actually. He talked about his role in Godafton, Herr Wallenberg . It was a film where he almost killed himself. After that he didn't film for two years and when he returned he found a healthier approach to work. At the same time, I don't know how many happy people I meet overall. Everyone has their own shit that they go through and we live in very strange times. It is confused and messy in many ways.

You yourself have become the father of a young child – when do you most often call your own father for life advice today: family life or acting?

- He has eight children, so there is a lot to learn from his fatherhood, haha. Things to do and not to do. Then it is special when we are a family where so many people have the same job, I never feel alone that way. You have people who understand what you are going through.

You dress smart and recently fronted a campaign for H&M - do you have a fashion interest?

- I'm not a person who thinks out outfits for every day, or goes looking for bargains in vintage stores. My expression is not clothes in that way. But I think it's fun with fashion and clothes can also be an aid as an actor to get into characters. My own style is not so "peacock", I just want to wear comfortable clothes and not have to think too much about it. But I am more and more exposed to the world of fashion and can see both the charm and the expression in it. You can be creative in many different ways.

Your Nosferatu co-star – Willem Dafoe – has attended screenings for Prada: Is it something you are keen on?

- I wouldn't mind that, he has almost become a face for the entire brand. Prada did a show with Tim Roth, Adrien Brody, Gary Oldman, Willem Dafoe and all those cool actors. It was a ball, I think.

Today you belong to one of our biggest international actors - what is the strangest place where you have been recognized?

- I've probably been recognized on every continent I've been to. Maybe not Asia, but I haven't been there for a long time, so it's probably big in Japan that remains. I started acting in Sweden and thought it was nice to leave the country and avoid being recognized. At that time, it was enough to go to Denmark and I was completely anonymous. I hardly remember what it was like anymore. At the same time, it is part of the job. I live in Södermalm and here nobody raises an eyebrow if I pass, it's quite nice. It's my South and I run into my childhood friends all the time, so I'm not anonymous, but I feel like Bill.

I really wanna get into their music n shit, and feel like there's a lot of story telling in their music that I miss because I Am Shit At Understanding Lyrics And Their Meanings By Myself.

you dont have to pay anything! im not deep into the fandom so i would be the first to admit that i am not deeply versed on the lore or anything, but i have been to two rituals (aka concerts) and seen the movie, so i know a bit!

so ghost is a swedish rock/metal/everyone describes it differently band that does everything in full costume and with the story that they are spreading the word of the devil through their music. it's the creation of tobias forge, who is also the front man, currently playing the character of Copia/Papa Emeritus IV. he's the guy in all the posts youre seeing me reblog who ISNT wearing a black mask and all black clothes. his face is a mask though. like a really high quality one thats been painted and stuff. thats why you dont really see his mouth move.

anyway, the way ghost works is that since the formation of the band, different Papas (1-4) were the lead singers of the band, all played by tobias forge. as an era came to the close, the papa would be retired, or beheaded in the 3rd papa (terzo's) case, and the next would take his place to continue to spread the word. the current papa, Copia, has been with us for longer than the others, and Prequelle and Impera are the albums that came out under his time. if you really want to get into the lore, theres also a like... webseries mostly focused on Copia.

then theres the ghouls. those are the guys in the masks. they arent band members as much i suppose, as they're like... contracted performers for tours and certain music videos. so they come and go to an extent, though most ghouls are played by the same people for several years at a time, and a new person = a new ghoul as far as the fandom is concerned. same instrument but new name. i wont get too into all the people behind the masks rn, but they ARE listed on wikipedia now and most are independent musicians with their own music out! the ghouls are all assigned elements based on their instruments (air for keyboard, water for bass, fire for lead guitar, earth for drums, quintessence for rhythm guitar, and multi for the ghouls who do vocals/tambourine/guitar/etc). then they end up with names based on those elements (like keyboard is air, so the keyboard players are cirrus and cumulus).

man i think that's the super basics. but really, at the end of the day, you can just listen to the music. you dont NEED to know all the background to enjoy the music. i didnt know any getting into it and then went on to learn what i know. the ghost wiki is pretty in depth so you can get info there, too, and im happy to do my best to answer any specific questions too! just let me know, my ask box is always open :]

20 days language learnign challenge

Day 13: How many languages are spoken in your country?

In my country of origin we have two official language: Finnish and Swedish. In some parts of Finland Sami is also a national language.

My current home country (I’m hoping to get citizenship) Ghana has about 80 languages. Governement promotes 11 of those. They are:

I am actively learnign Dangme and passively Fante (meaning I’m just catching some phrases from my friends but not really making any effort.) I used to study akuapem Twi (through Ma Yensua Twi book) and Ashanti Twi (through Pimsleur Twi) but didn’t get very far.

Today I went to church and after that studied some policy documents for work (and fell asleep doing so. 💯 would recommend for insomnia).

Then we went for a long walk and I was teaching my child some Finnish through “I spy with my little eye “ while doing so.

And While my kids were playing at basketball court I did a bit of Anki but not a whole lot.

Here’s a picture of the place where I studied. My child calls this her favorite tree. She talk to her (yes, a girl tree) and waters her every time she comes here. ❤️

Then I had a call with my mom. Always good to talk with mom. Miss her. It’s hard to live in a different continent than your family sometimes. 😭 Anyway, kids got to practice their Finnish with grand mum. That’s always good.

I’m so bad at remembering to use Finnish. English just comes easier for some reason. Like my brain is reprogrammed. If I try to even write a diary in Finnish it just takes so much longer and I can’t find the words to express myself. Weird. Not good. Have to re-learn my own goddamn mother tongue.

Now I think I will watch the Jesus movie in Dangme and maybe some Finnish content too and call it a day.

Astrid felt a weight lifted off her as she walked away from the Sydney FC training grounds for the last time. Although she hadn’t been there long, this place had given her an amazing start to her footballing career. She had been able to play the game she loved and continue to succeed at a higher level. But it was time to go. 

The offer they presented her with hadn’t changed and it wasn’t going to work with how she wanted to continue to learn and grow as a player and a person. So here she was, telling them she was officially leaving and moving clubs. The staff said they were sad to see her go, which she appreciated. She felt really bad for leaving the girls she had become close with on the team. She told them shortly after telling the club, sending out a group text since they were all on a break currently before pre-season started again. The influx of goodbyes and well wishes she received warmed her heart and brought up her feelings about leaving again, but it was what was best. 

She had called up Lisa again, telling her what club would be best for her and Lisa was very happy and excited to get things rolling. Lisa was the main point of contact with the club, organising everything official while Astrid worked on packing up her life in Australia and moving across the world. Cortnee had been helping her, though there wasn’t much to pack in her apartment, a lot of her old stuff still back at home, which she was going to go and get before she had to leave next week. 

It had been announced on social media that Astrid was leaving Sydney FC but it had not been shared what Swedish club she was joining, and the response from her fellow Matildas was incredible. They were all so happy for her and how quickly she was advancing as a professional footballer. 

She had just finished her lunch when her phone rang, Tony’s contact appearing on her screen. 

“Hello?” Astrid spoke after answering the call. 

“Astrid! Hello, it’s Tony.” The man called out, happiness evident in his voice. 

“Hi, Tony. How are you?” Astrid moved to sit on her couch. 

“I am very well thank you. And you?” He asked politely. 

“Yeah, I’m good, thank you.” Astrid smiled to herself. 

“Good, good. Now first I wanted to congratulate you on your move to Sweden! I may be a little biassed, but it is a beautiful country and I think you will love it!” Tony’s laughter flowed through the speakers. 

“Thank you, I’m looking forward to it. I think it’ll be really good for me and my career.” Astrid laughed slightly at her coach's excitement. 

“Yes, yes I agree.” He cleared his throat. “Now I was calling you to talk about the upcoming camp next month in June, I’m sure you heard about the games against Spain and Portugal.” Tony waited for Astrid to respond. 

“I did. I think those games will be good for us, looking at next year with the world cup.” She swallowed nervously for what he might say next. 

“Yes definitely. Well I just wanted to let you know that you have been selected for the team for this next camp and we look forward to seeing you next month in Spain.” Tony was smiling on his end as he heard the young player let out a soft sigh of relief. 

“Oh, thank you. Thanks so much Tony.” Astrid was beaming now. “I won’t let you down.” 

“I know you won't, Astrid. You’ve been working exceptionally hard these past few months and it really showed in your performances last camp.” Tony could tell how excited she was, obviously not suspecting to be chosen, which was the opposite to the coaching staff’s opinion. “I can’t wait to see what you’ve got for us when we see you again. Keep working hard and we’ll see you soon.”

“Of course. Thank you, again. See you in Spain.” The call ended and Astrid lept up from her couch, letting out a squeal and doing a little dance around her living room. Although she was officially a part of the Matildas, there could be a time where she didn’t get these calls so it was a big relief when she did.

A week later and her parents were dropping her off at the airport with her life packed up into two suitcases and carry ons; this drop off felt very different to the ones in the past. The whole morning had been emotional for Astrid as they left her family home, driving past all the places she had grown up visiting, playing football and making memories. She knew she would be back one day, but the ticket in her bag said ‘one way’ so that day was very unknown.

Her parents had gone through security with her, wanting to spend as much time together as they could before she boarded her flight and went off to her new home. The hugs goodbye at the gate were long and full of whispered “I love you’s” between Astrid and her parents. Her flight was called and it was time to go. 

She managed to hold in her tears until she got to her business class seat, grateful she was sitting alone and could hide behind a small screen, wiping her eyes before anyone could see her. She was sad to be leaving home and her parents, they had such a strong bond, but this was going to be one of the best decisions of her life, and she knew that. 

The flight to Dubai went quite quickly, considering Astrid slept for the majority of it, it was a red-eye so she expected to fall asleep at some point. The layover was only 2 hours and she spent it rechecking her luggage for the next flight, her parents not trusting it wouldn’t get lost, grabbing some food and walking around the airport until she was boarding the flight to Stockholm Sweden, the closest airport to Hammarby and her new housing. 

This flight, though shorter, felt long without her sleeping it away, getting through a few movies and TV episodes before she finally landed in Sweden. She switched her phone on again as soon as she entered the airport, ready for the influx of messages from her parents checking in on her and from Kyra who was waiting for Astrid at arrivals. She collected her bags quite quickly and made her way to where Kyra and Courtney would be waiting. Charli wanted to be there to welcome her too, but being 5 hours away in Rosengård and having a game that day proved to be a little difficult. But they were going to see each other soon so they didn’t have to wait that long to reunite. 

Astrid could feel Kyra blowing up her phone in her pocket but she couldn’t check it with three bags in her hand and trying to find her way through an airport that was in a language she didn’t understand. She followed the crowds of people and eventually found herself near the exit. 

“ASTRID!” Two loud voices mixed together and stopped Astrid in her tracks, turning her head rapidly to find the point of the noise. She didn’t find it but she did find two girls running straight for her and she let go of her bags to meet them in the middle. The three of them hugged tightly, swaying slightly as they laughed. 

“I can’t believe you’re really here.” Kyra said with a wide smile on her face. 

“I know, me either.” Astrid shook her head, looking between both of her friends, this is where it begins. 

Eventually they picked up her bags and exited the airport to a taxi waiting to take the girls back to Kyra and Courtney’s place. Astrid was staying over for the night until she picked up her keys tomorrow for her place just down the road.

The girls took Astrid sightseeing for the rest of the day to try and keep her awake, she wanted to regulate her body clock as soon as possible and avoid jet lag. They cooked dinner together and spent the evening catching up and watching movies until they all decided to go to bed. 

The next day was spent moving Astrid into her own place, thankful it came furnished and all she had to buy was necessities and decorations. The three of them had exhausted themselves by dinner time and decided just to order in and sat in Astrid’s living room this time before Kyra and Courtney left for the night. Astrid was used to living by herself so she didn’t mind the silence, but it felt very different being in a new country where she didn’t fully understand the language yet. But the club had set up language lessons for her to attend while training so she could understand the basics which she was more than grateful for. 

The day finally came for her to officially sign her contract with Hammarby IF and receive her new kit so she could begin training with the team. She was handed her new jersey, flipping the back to reveal ‘Taylor’ above a massive 13, happy because it was her Matilda’s number but just flipped. And also happy because of the 13 and the fact her last name is Taylor; I mean it was just meant to be. 

She took some photos for social media so the club could officially announce her addition to the team and then got shown around the centre and where she would train with the team. It was beginning to feel a lot more real and she could feel her heart growing with excitement and anticipation for what her time here could look like. 

Safe to say her time at Hammarby was going to be good, and she had only just started. Training was already going great for Astrid, and being with Kyra and Courtney really helped, like having Cortnee at Sydney FC helped her last season. She had already felt her skills improving and it had only been a few days. Astrid was hyper focused while in training, working hard on her passes, taking constant shots at goal from both feet and ramping up her fitness during gym sessions. Astrid felt like she had something to prove here. 

She didn’t though, not to anyone that mattered. Her new coaches were very impressed with her ambition and her teammates were grateful to have her on the team. 

They had their first match since Astrid joined and she didn’t plan on them using her at all, happy to just watch the team flow and play like they had been since the season started. But it was getting close to full time and neither team had yet to score. The coaches had instructed a few of the subs to get warm, that included Astrid. 

After a few minutes she was replacing the current left forward, running onto the pitch and giving Kyra a high five who was further back as the left midfielder. From their matches at training, Kyra and Astrid found that when they were on that left side together they were a pretty good duo, despite not really playing together on the national team yet. Being friends might have helped but they had this connection where they didn’t need to say anything and the passes between them were flawless. And it was working during this game right now. 

Kyra stole the ball from the other team, dribbling it around her matched player and running it down the field. Astrid had seen her coming and ran closer to the box. Kyra struck the ball hard, it flew in the air and landed at Astrid’s feet. She took a few short strides but she had space so she swung her right foot at the ball towards the goal. The goalie had gone for it but it slipped past her fingers as she jumped for it, turning her head as she fell, watching the ball sink into the back net. 

The small home crowd cheered and Astrid ran towards Kyra as soon as she knew it was in. Astrid reached Kyra and jumped onto her, screaming with joy that she had scored for her first time on her new team. The team jumped onto the pair, Kyra holding her tight and shaking her as Astrid erupted in laughter. 

The match ended, Hammarby had won 1-0 and the whole team was ecstatic at their new teammate’s goal that got them the win. Kyra and Courtney were probably the most proud and Astrid couldn’t wipe her smile off her face. 

The team had celebrated in the change rooms for ages before they all showered and decided to go home, tired after the tough game but still buzzing with joy. It seemed as if Charli could sense that they were done because as soon as Kyra, Courtney and Astrid had begun walking home, she was calling her.

“WHOOOOOOO!” Charli screamed as soon as Astrid accepted the facetime, all three girls jumping back at the sudden noise. 

“Oh my god.” Astrid shook her head at Charli. “What a way to start a call.” The youngest girl spoke. 

“Well I’m just super happy for you guys. You should’ve seen me when you scored that goal, Astrid. I was off my couch within seconds screaming at my laptop.” Charli laughed and Astrid smiled. 

“Thank you! That’s so sweet Char.” Astrid pouted at the screen, her head whipping fast to Kyra when the girl took her phone from her. 

“Excuse me, I don’t know if you saw but I actually assisted that soooo…” Kyra teased and Charli just stared at her. Courntey and Astrid laughed beside each other as they walked. 

“Yes I saw. Well done Kyra.” Charli smiled at Kyra, sarcasm hiding in her voice which made Astrid snort, snatching the phone back from Kyra who scoffed. 

“Ugh, I miss you Char, I’m stuck with these losers now.” Astrid rolled her eyes playfully. 

“That’s so rude.” Courtney expressed from beside her. 

“You can get to training on your own now, Asteroid.” Kyra crossed her arms as she walked. Astrid’s jaw dropped and turned around, walking backwards to look her in the eyes. 

“That name is reserved for Macca and Macca only.” Astrid pointed at Kyra. Charli was laughing through the phone and Courtney slapped a hand over her mouth to hide her laughter. 

Astrid’s tough facade eventually cracked and she couldn’t help but smile at the brown eyed girl who was running back up to her, wrapping an arm over her shoulder. 

“I’ll let you guys go and celebrate. I’ll catch up with you later, okay?” Charli’s voice flowed and a smile appeared through the phone. 

“Okay, I’ll call you later today Char.” Astrid nodded at her. “Love you.” Astrid spoke first, Kyra and Courtney shortly behind with the same words. 

“BYEEEEEE” Charli excessively waved through the camera, the other three girls following her actions. The call ended and Astrid put her phone away, adjusting her kit bag strap before holding her arms out ready for Kyra and Courtney to link their arms with hers. They walk arm and arm back to their places, Astrid inviting them to come round later after she’s called her parents so they can have their post match dinner together. 

Astrid was feeling so grateful for how her life here was progressing already. She was with two of her bestfriends, she was improving on her football and she was enjoying her new home.

hello, I realized that I haven't introduced myself yet on tumblr and after many posts, I think it could be interesting for you and for me as well to know more abt myself :

-my name is Fanny, I am french so my name does not mean what it means in the UK or in USA

-I am currently 18 y old

-I am a student at the university of Rennes 2, in France, in applied languages, english and german but I am willing to quit because that was already my plan B and I actually want to go in performing art as I love dance and attend to shows on stage

-I am fond of contemporary dance and a bit of classical too, music, collecting vinyls, cds and dvds, doing collage artwork and gel plate printing, I also like learning languages

-As I like learning languages, I learned how to read russian and ukrainian cyrillic alphabet, kinda useless in France but I feel better knowing how to read it... (even though I don't understand...)

-I really want to know how to play an instrument, especially harp, percussions, cello... the only thing I can play is "under the moonlight" on piano, kalimba, flute and pan flute, playing the synth solo of "Love Illumination" on a keyboard and doing the rythm of a song from the french singer and tennisman Yannick Noah on a djembe...

I tend to be a bit introverted and like being alone but the second I’m around my friends I am the LIFE of the party and am usually the one to organize hangouts and parties among the group. Comedically enough though my friends typically compare me to Gale, usually calling me a recluse who “hasn’t seen the light of day in 3 years” lmao. I,,, may be autistic.

My hobbies primarily include art, whether that be digital, traditional, animation, 3D modeling or hell, playing guitar, ukulele or even the ocarina. I’ve also recently rediscovered my love for reading and learning languages (I’m currently learning Swedish lol). I also really enjoy traveling and will get out of town and occasionally out of the country whenever I get the chance. On a nice sunny day I’ve also been known to walk to the nearby park and just walk around barefoot cuz I like the feeling of Nature*tm*.

In a relationship I’m typically the person to initiate contact, usually bringing up date ideas and initiating physical affection and the like. I don’t mind PDA though I do generally prefer being affectionate in private. On that note, I am VERY AFFECTIONATE and once someone has accepted me hugging them it will be a WHILE till I let go lol. Welcome to opposites attract. On this episode-

Whilst I’ll admit that at first you and Gale seemed like a potentially good fit, Rolan inevitably won out because I believe that you two would compliment one another really well and bring out the best in each other!

You keep to yourself initially, which Rolan is unsurprisingly respectful of; if there’s anyone you have to worry about needlessly bothering you when you’re not up for the interaction, it’s definitely not him. He understands that preferring to spend some time on your own isn’t a bad thing; he’s very much the kind of person to enjoy some alone time (though the chances he gets to actually do that are few and far between even after things have settled down lmao). Sometimes enjoying one’s own company is healthy and has its merits, allowing you to recharge after a long day.

The first time he sees you break from your shell though the contrast is rather stark. Rolan had already caught a few glimpses of the life bubbling under the surface of your otherwise introverted nature the more that you warmed up to him - but when he sees you in the company of your closest friends for the first time? He’s taken aback by the way you practically lighten up in their company. He’s heard others in your circle commencing that you’re the life of the party whenever you’re around, but the tiefling definitely didn’t anticipate that to be so literal watching you immerse yourself amongst friends with a renewed vigor.

The jokes your companions crack about your comparisons to a certain wizard of Waterdeep earn an eyeroll or two from the tiefling as he listens to them ribbing you over your occasional tendencies. He’s been on enough of your planned outings to know that’s hardly the case and will tell them as such, though it’s all in good fun thankfully - besides if you prefer to hole yourself away with your creature comforts, you’re always welcome to do so at the tower. Oftentimes the wizard will chime in on the usual banter to add that it’s a good thing you made an exception to that little reclusive streak of yours for him - it would have been quite the loss otherwise.

Your instruments always have a safe place in the tower, that’s assured from the moment you make any kind of mention about the instruments that you play. He says it’s because there’s few places as well protected as his home, so why not keep them there to practice if you ever come over to visit? In reality it’s all a not so hidden excuse just to hear you play. He’ll leave his office door open or linger on the main floor of the upper levels of the tower whenever he knows you’re about to start playing, acting as though it’s not completely obvious he’s actively listening. I personally think that Rolan would be quite partial to the ukulele, if only for how fluid the notes as you pluck at the strings. If you were to take a peek at the tiefling as you’re playing, you’ll find that he often stops what he's doing to bask in the melody for a little while, the slight tilt of his head towards the direction the music is coming from a dead giveaway that you’ve got his attention hook line and sinker. Speaking of the tower though, sorcerous sundries provides a wealth of entertainment for your rediscovered passion in reading. In truth most of the stock is ancient texts and magical tomes older than both of you combined, but whatever you find that peaks your interest is yours for the reading (once he’s ensured it’s safe and not somehow curse-laden - hells knows what’s in some of those things.) It’s the first sign that he’s actively vying for your affections - Rolan hopes to earn your approval through impressing you at every turn. So the moment you express a shred of interest in the books lining the shelves all around, he’s set. And perhaps he uses some of his new connections to quietly add a couple of actual reading materials to those shelves just for you, who knows~?

After the events of the main game, Rolan is rather stubborn about staying put in the tower and the gate in general. After everything that he and the other Teiflings went through just to get here, and honestly having experienced some of the worst things the outside world has to offer he’s set on sticking to the four walls of his new home, thank you very much. It can admittedly be a point of contention given his reluctance to explain how he’s feeling sometimes; coming off as downright stubborn until you learn that he’s not exactly opposed to the idea of traveling, it will just…take some time before that avenue opens up for discussion. Trips around the gate though are fair game for the early relationship. Rolan learns quickly to spot the signs that you’re plotting another day out - hears the hum as you mull them over and the way your mouth quirks when you’ve settled on an idea. Thankfully there’s some wonderful places in the city where the bustle of crowds and incessant noise struggles to reach, offering a respite for the both of you where he can enjoy the quiet of your company and you can get your fill of being out in nature.

You and Rolan are definitely on the same page about preferring affection in private. In the early stages of your relationship you may find that it takes a little while to warm up to your affectionate nature. He certainly doesn’t mind it - quite the opposite, as the guy is so blatantly wanton of any romantic gestures that you could very well reduce him to a mess in your hands if you wanted to. In the privacy of your own home you’ll find that the man is far more open with his own affection, tail curling around you as he slips into your arms. Please card your hands through his hair - even if you accidentally knock his horns a couple of times in the process you’ll be able to watch the stress evaporate from his body with each moment, sinking deeper and deeper into your embrace. Gods forbid you cuddle him lying or sitting down because once he’s truly relaxed in one place neither of you are going anywhere.

Hello! I’m Tobi and I’m starting the 100 days of productivity challenge on the 1st of September 2024. So I thought I’d make a little intro post since I really want to get involved with the community more and share some inspo >.<

Here’s a little bit about me!

3rd year (out of 4) undergraduate International Development student

From Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Currently living in Tokyo 🇯🇵

Studying Japanese as my priority language, however I’m also learning Swedish, French and Welsh on the side when I can. Currently monolingual but with okay Japanese proficiency (I don’t know the exact level).

I love reading. My favourites change often but at the moment I love Shakespeare, Dostoyevsky, Early modern Japanese fiction, philosophy, classic literature, history, political science- I read basically everything except sci-fi + fantasy. I log all my reads on my Goodreads

I really struggle with depression and social anxiety in my real life- I can go weeks without going out and seeing anybody. However there are times when I’m relatively okay.

I play the violin and a few other instruments

I will make a list of my goals and aspirations soon!

Spoilers for Rite Here, Rite Now involved but

I dunno guys…

As chewy as the theory that DeFroque is Copia’s twin is…I dunno if I buy into it. Or maybe it’s that I don’t buy into him being Papa V. Probably the latter tbh. Hear me out:

In terms of telling a classic type of story, it actually lines up pretty well with DeFroque being the technically evil twin compared to Copia. That, and going off of that, having one twin be the leader of a satanic church while the other is a catholic priest (albeit extremely corrupted) has some dynamic value.

But I don’t know if the story it works well in is that of Ghost’s. Ghost has a bleary timeline and inconsistencies, yeah, but I don’t know if I’d call it unstable enough to wedge in DeFroque as much more than a caricature meant to symbolize the hypocrisy and corruption of leaders in the Church. That, and to be more to the point, in no particular order, these:

Fucked up and disloyal to what he preaches as he is, DeFroque is still very much an arrogant asshole with a holier-than-thou mindset. While I can somewhat see him leaving from Catholicism after being tempted by the power being a Papa might have at first blush, he’d probably be more likely to dramatically reject the offer and play up how he rejected the temptation of Satan to appear more powerful to his congregation. That way he can continue with his current reputation and then some because now everyone thinks he’s truly instilled with the power of God and Christ. Instead of just, you know, a manipulative opportunist who weighed his options.

I don’t know about y’all but like. I just. I can’t learn to love this guy. I’m sorry. Props to the actor and the cinematographer and director and so on for “Jesus He Knows Me” but they did too good a job and now he has a face only a mother wouldn’t punch. (Disclaimer: If you see this man on the street, please do not punch or harass him, I am sure he’s a pleasant enough person in real life.) Yeah, he embraces sin but the difference between how he does it and how the Papas encourage you to do it is that he’s such a hypocrite about it and uses his position to take advantage of and exploit both his congregation and those who are taught to trust him due to Christianity positing so much inherent trust on its leaders. I can only imagine that if he were to become Papa V, he’d be smug about it, but in a completely uncharming manner.

I dunno if I believe homeboy’s got the pipes. Dude was snortin’ and hacking during that glitch video. He very likely did a line off the communion plate right before filming. Can they omit this for performances or claim Ministry Magic? Absolutely yes. But also. Ya can’t just do all that coke characterizing and then stop and we have to forget it happened. Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Perhaps the biggest issue I’m grappling with is… How will the mask thing work?? Jim DeFroque is a wholeass person with an established wholeass person’s face. If Tobias were to commission even the best dang mask-designer to recreate the face, it’d still come out uncanny, and not in the goofball way Copia’s faces have been. It’d be almost skinsuit-like, I reckon. So unless Tobias is planning on passing the torch to a new singer…Nope, no, we’re not going there —

Please don’t rob me of seeing Copia’s Cardinal Face one last time please —

Now all this isn’t to say that DeFroque couldn’t still be Copia’s twin. I just can’t see him being Papa V. But then hey, what do I know? Tobias is a troll so he could very well pull this out of that Swedish otter ass of his and I’d have to accept it through teeth so gritted, they crunch. I’d also probably have to fight him for it but I think he’s prepared to deal with that.

This also isn’t to say that if you love the theory that DeFroque is Copia’s twin, you are wrong and must be attacked. No: Love your theories, keep making guesses. Engage! This is just a theory I personally have trouble buying into/do not want to buy into because. God. Fuck that guy.

Actually, scratch that, I do know something: I may be very new to the Ghost fandom but if DeFroque becomes Papa V, he will become the first Papa I’d ever want to slug.

i recently found out that i’m autistic. which explains a lot of my issues in the daily life. it was a shock but at the same time it was such a relief to found out bc it gave me so many answers to all the questions i’ve had throughout the years. now i know why some things are hard for me and why i am the way i am.

i don’t really know why i am writing this.. but honestly i don’t talk much about this irl with the people i know. when i told some people that i know the response was like - “but you don’t look autistic” and stuff like that. so, does autism have a face now?? no it doesn’t. it makes me angry when people are like “no, you’re not autistic, if you were we would have known” and stuff like that. but believe me, i’ve always known that it was something. i’ve always known that i functioned differently. maybe i didn’t know it was autism, but i knew it was something.

i’m glad that i got in touch with the psychological care. now i get the help and the tools i need to cope with everyday life.

but i do have a long way to go still, there’s still some stuff i’m trying to figure out. there’s still some stuff i’m learning about myself. for example, i can’t work right now. i’m seeing everyone else just go to work, or go to school, and making money and seeing friends and all of that social life stuff. but i’m mostly at home because i can’t do shit right now. i’m also living with anxiety & depression in addition to my autism. and i haven’t been able to work for three years now. i do study to pass grades that i didn’t get in high school. i didn’t get an exam. but right now i’m having a break from school as well bc i’ve been at my lowest.

i just want to be able to work. i want to be done with school. i want to get out there. but for me, it all takes some time. i get contributions (do u call it that in English? when u get money from the state example bc you’re sick or there’s other reasons you can’t work, or you need some more time to finish school) anyway, that’s how it works in sweden so luckily i manage financially for now. but i don’t have all the time in the world to pass school. i’ve applied for another year of financial support so that i can finish school. but I haven’t gotten a response yet and that’s stressing me out because my currently financial contributions ends in july.

so yeah.. now u know a little bit about me & my life. don’t really know what i wanted out of this, i think i just needed to write about this and get it out of my brain. i’m not looking for answers or compassion or anything. more like, a reminder that we all go through though things. and that we’re not alone in it.

i also want to thank the sims community and my mutuals and like, yeah this game in general. bc it honestly is a lifesaver sometimes. you can just disappear from the real world a little bit. and since i can’t work right now, i’m playing a lot of sims and hanging out in here and talking to other simblrs and it really brightens my days. so thank you! <3

Hi! I’m a Finn living in Ghana and married to a Dangme. I live in an area where there are a lot of Fante speakers but at home we speak Dangme and Finnish. I lied. My family speaks mostly English. But we are trying to speak more Dangme and Finnish. Anyway…

Dangme:

Dangme is my main target 🎯 language. I really really want to be able to speak with my in-laws.

Fante:

I rather reluctantly and passively learn Fante. Everybody speaks it at my workplace so I should learn it. But I don’t wanna. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know the answer. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Anyway a Fante teacher comes to our house every Sunday mainly to give my kids private lessons so they can catch up with their Fante peers. Fante is compulsory subject in their school. I’m so far behind my kids already.

Twi:

Everybody keeps telling me to learn Twi instead because it’s somewhat of a lingua Franca here. I did at some point but it distracted my Dangme learning and also confused me because it’s so similar to Fante. I may return to learning Twi at some point. But I want to master Dangme first. This might be a dumb thing to do but…

GSL/ASL

I am very interested in Ghanaian Sign Language and American Sign Language too. So sometimes I play around with those two. But like I don’t have any pressure to learn them. I just want to be able to communicate with a lady who sells me fruits and honestly she is so sweet I wish to be her friend so hopefully 🤞 I can learn a few phrases at least to get started.

French

Ok so I was really burnt out and frustrated in Dangme for some time and kinda gave up a bit. So as there was a language vacuum in my life obviously I had to learn SOMETHING. I watched SKAM France and fell in love. It was Covid lock down and I had lots of time so I was learning that a bit. It was so easy compared to Dangme. Anyway I only did like very basics and then sifted my focus back to Dangme. But I do still follow some French media and books when I get a chance. Also my kids have to take French in school so I sometimes learn with them.

Swedish

Yeah. I was supposed to learn Swedish in school. I mean, I think I can still read some simple texts but … I watched Young Royals and understood NOTHING. Ok maybe simple stuff like Jag älskar dig and stuff like that. If I had time I would revise Swedish. But alas, time is that one thing I lack these days.

English

Learnt it in school. I use it every day. Still not fluent though. I guess all I can do at this point is to read more challenging texts. I don’t really have a plan. I’m quite comfortable with my current level. I’m not a perfectionist.

Finnish

Having lived 10 years abroad I sometimes feel my own language is a bit rusty. Still someone contacted me that I should start offering Finnish courses here in Ghana. I mean… I don’t think I’m qualified but if there are people who need a tutor I guess I can help. But Finnish grammar is a real bitch.

I think that’s all for now. I try not to get involved with any more languages. Though my husband was suggesting we move to UAE for a while. Arabic? 😅

Anyway, that’s me. I would really like friends. Especially if you also struggle with learning rare languages. Or want help with Finnish.

QUESTION ONE: were you born on the island, if so, what kind of curiosities do you have about the world beyond? if you weren’t, what do you miss about the world outside veritas isles? 

Yes, I was. I read quite a bit, so naturally, I am curious about the places in the books I read about. I am curious if the rest of the world is better or worse off than we are. I have once debated traveling, though I fear if I did, I might never come back.

QUESTION TWO: what is your favorite part about the island? 

the nature and the diversity of it, we have mountains, beaches, creeks, just about anything you might desire. my favorite part, however is my own cottage and the inlet of water nearby.

QUESTION THREE: if your character is supernatural, do they fear humans? if human, do they fear the supernatural? 

no, they actually tend to favor humans over their own these days, after all that has happened, though they'd never speak this aloud. they do, however fear that they might not be the safest company for humans. that, and some books have made them weary of humans with power, though honestly they are weary of anyone with power.

MISSING FAMILY TW. not necessarily fun, but Magnus was once engaged. There were plans for a wedding after the birth of his first child, but they wanted to focus on the childbirth and first year of their life, first. However, one horrendous day led to both his child and his beloved being taken away from him due to them defending themselves. He's not sure if they're even still alive, which is perhaps the worst part. He goes out almost daily to the point where they always agreed to meet up should they need to flea daily, desperately hoping that by some miracle one or both will be there. that, or that someone will come with news on what has happened to them, anything is better than the not knowing. This is going to be a wanted connection at some point, though I do imagine that she is not a werewolf. perhaps they don't even have memory of Magnus or it has been altered. additional thought: i imagine when the kid was three, perhaps the family was camping or something in another location that the kid somehow managed to wander away from the parents ( not far ) but stumbled across rogue vampires or something and without hesitation, Magnus took one or two out, one escaping made a case against him ( perhaps they had power or are related to some person with power ) and obviously won.

At one point, he was very involved with the pack and even had a voice within the council through a close friend of his. He enjoyed it, quite a bit, however, once his family was ripped away from him, he saw all the harm that was caused and moved out. He still has a couple trusted childhood friends that he keeps in contact with and they update him, but beyond that he wants nothing to do with his pack or the council.

THE GEMS Feat. Former THUNDERMOTHER Members: Record Deal Announced; 'Like A Phoenix' Single To Arrive 'Very Soon'

THE GEMS, the new Swedish rock band featuring former THUNDERMOTHER members Guernica Mancini (vocals),Emlee Johansson (drums) and Mona Lindgren (bass),has signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records. THE GEMS' debut single, "Like A Phoenix", will arrive "very soon," according to a press release.

THE GEMS are currently working hard on finishing their debut album, but will also make time to play their second show ever at the Downtown Riot festival in their hometown of Stockholm this Saturday, May 6.

THE GEMS commented on the signing: "We are so happy and excited to be a part of the Napalm Records family. We feel very confident that Napalm is the perfect label for us to spread our music, and that we will make a great team together and conquer the world!"

Napalm Records CEO Thomas Caser added: "With THE GEMS the name says it all! The musicians are already well-known to every rock fan and we are convinced that we have discovered a new star in the rock scene. We are already looking forward to the first anthems from the Swedes!"

THE GEMS made their live debut on March 22 at Pustervik in Gothenburg, Sweden as the support act for THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA.

THE GEMS see Lindgren returning to her original instrument, the guitar. Playing bass at the Gothenburg show was THE GEMS' friend and collaborator Johan Randén.

Regarding the "Like A Phoenix" single title and how it relates to the trio's sudden and unexpected exit from THUNDERMOTHER, Guernica recently told Germany's Metal Hammer magazine (translated from German): "We wanted a hopeful and positive first single. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. This is how we felt as we struggled through this dark period of our career."

Mancini and Lindgren also noted that THE GEMS' live performances will include material from THUNDERMOTHER's last two albums, 2020's "Heat Wave" and 2022's "Black And Gold", both of which featured songwriting contributions from Guernica and Emlee.

In February, it was announced that Mancini, Johansson and Lindgren were exiting THUNDERMOTHER and would form a new band together. At the same time, guitarist Filippa Nässil revealed that she would continue with a new THUNDERMOTHER lineup featuring singer Linnéa Vikström (THERION, AT THE MOVIES) and returning bassist Majsan Lindberg. Filippa has also since recruited Joan Massing (HONEY CREEK) as THUNDERMOTHER's new drummer.

Mancini, who joined THUNDERMOTHER in 2017, reflected on her split with the band in an interview with Canada's The Metal Voice. Asked when she first had a feeling that things were not as they should be within THUNDERMOTHER, Guernica said: "It's a tough question to answer. I would say like this, that it's never been great for me. And it's been six tough years. But regardless of that, I don't regret anything. I still had amazing experiences with the band. And I wouldn't take anything back, 'cause I've grown and I've become the singer that I am. And there are so many positives to that. So even though it has been a very bumpy ride, I still think that it's been a beautiful ride. Because it does teach you a lot about yourself, and you grow as a human."

She added: "When you go through something that's tough and hard for you, you can either choose to learn from it and try to do something positive with it. And that's kind of what I'm aiming to do for myself."

When asked by host Jimmy Kay if she is saying that she was unhappy for six years, Mancini replied: "Not a hundred percent unhappy. It's been [up and down]. Definitely I've questioned how my dream of doing music and everything that I love so much and hold so dear had to be so tough. But in my mind I've always thought that it's probably the price you pay for getting these experiences or whatever. But I think that it doesn't necessarily have to be that. But like anything in life, nothing is gonna be happy and roses all the time. You go through things. It's normal."

Guernica also addressed the fact that Emlee and Mona both voluntarily left THUNDERMOTHER, once they found out Mancini was being kicked out of the group.

"It does make me feel [good], but I also felt really guilty… I felt guilty because I knew the opportunities that they were giving up because of this, but they had their own reasons," she said. "They did this completely on their own. And the problems that we've had in the band, they're not just something that is between [Filippa] and I; it's something that's been brewing and been there always. So when this happened, they also felt that it was very disrespectful towards them, being that they believed that we were a democracy and that we had a say in these things. She more or less [told] them, 'I wanna do this, and I've already found a new singer.' And that's when Emlee just said, 'I don't wanna play with another singer. And if you're gonna go ahead and do this, I'm gonna leave the band.' And that's what she did. And Mona felt the same way."

Guernica added: "I love [Emlee and Mona], and I'm forever grateful. I wouldn't have expected anything, but I also feel like I'm so blessed. Honestly, I'm so incredibly grateful that they are my new band. And they are the two that I enjoyed working with. And I have so much fun with them. And we already had two songwriting days, and we had just so much fun. And it was drama free. It was just a dream. And it's just, like, this is what a band is supposed to be."

Mancini then clarified: "We've had our differences. If you don't fight with your family and friends, that's kind of weird in itself. And we have. But we always… we say 'sorry', and we move past it. And our relationships always grow stronger and stronger and stronger. And that's, I think, the testament of a real, solid, healthy relationship. And that's how it is with them. So I'm really grateful that we have something and we get to continue playing together."

Guernica previously discussed her departure from THUNDERMOTHER in February in an interview with the "Rock And Roll Geek Show". Regarding how she found out she was being fired from THUNDERMOTHER, Guernica said: "I was blindsided. It's almost like I'm in an episode of fucking 'Survivor'. [Laughs]

"I got an e-mail [letting me know that I was no longer in the band]. I had a feeling it was coming because the week prior, [Filippa] had taken me off all our social media accounts. And I thought we had gotten hacked. I wrote to the group; I was, like, 'Girls, I think we're getting hacked. I can't get into our e-mail or Instagram — none of the accounts.'"

Asked if Filippa had any issues with Guernica's live performance or what she was doing on stage, Mancini said: "No, that's not something that I've… no information that I've received. I think that there's nothing you can complain about my performance or my singing, 'cause I've always brought my 'A game.' And if you have problems with that, I think that's strange, considering that's something that people really enjoy and respect the band for. So I think that would be weird."

Clarifying that the reasons for the split were "a hundred percent personal", Guernica revealed that "a lot of things happened behind my back, and I was the last one to know… Like there were meetings behind my back, trying to convince my fellow bandmates that I'm an awful person, I'm all these things that I'm not."

When interviewer Michael Butler noted that all the girls in THUNDERMOTHER looked like they were getting "along really well" when they were supporting the SCORPIONS on a tour of North America last fall, Guernica said: "I deserve an Oscar nomination for my acting. [Laughs]"

According to Mancini, she is still "really close" to Emlee and Mona. "We're actually really good friends, and that's the best part of my time in THUNDERMOTHER," she said. "Me and Emlee, she's legitimately one of my best friends. And Mona has become a really good friend as well. And we have a mutual respect and similar work ethic and we want the same things. We just work together. I just feel like, if anything, it's really lovely and positive that we have each other and that we all feel the same way and we all have had the same experiences and the reasoning behind not feeling great in the band as it was."

Asked how Emlee and Mona found out Guernica was being fired from THUNDERMOTHER, Mancini said: "[Filippa] had a secret meeting behind my back. She just told the girls, 'I wanna fire Guernica, and I already have a new singer.' And the girls were, like, 'Woah. Hold up. Wait a second. We did not sign up for that. And we thought we were a democracy in this band,' because that's something that we'd been told and that's how we've done everything.' So they were shocked."

In early March, Nässil shared a six-minute video in which she addressed some of the questions surrounding the departures of Mancini, Johansson and Lindgren as well as her decision to carry on with a new lineup. She said in part: "Some stuff you read online and even now in some magazines is true and some stuff has more to it," she explained. "I mean, there's a depth to what happened and it's impossible to read in a few lines or a quote from someone. And I wanna assure you and tell you guys that I did my absolute best to work everything out between the old members. I think we should be conscious in what we're saying and trust that I have done my absolute best for peace, love and rock and roll and I did everything in my power to work it out with the previous bandmembers.

"I would never throw anybody under the bridge. I think that's another private matter. What happened has been behind the curtain, so to speak, so it's not everything that people need to know about or should know about because it's just unnecessary to throw stuff at each other, I think."

"I'm thrilled to have Majsan back, who's done hundreds of shows with me in THUNDERMOTHER. She's the THUNDERMOTHER bass player. And I'm thrilled to have Linnéa Vikström, my friend since many, many years, on vocals. And I can't wait for the future."

Nässil went on to say that all the previously announced THUNDERMOTHER concerts "will happen. Not a single canceled show. Everyone has faith in THUNDERMOTHER and so should you.

"We are super stoked to tour with the SCORPIONS in Europe again and doing our own shows," she added.
