Narilamb dancing doodles I made on art streams this last week, mainly trying to get the motion in mind for the Anchordeep Ballroom scene (its a lot easier writing motion and movement when you have a visual reference)

Also ngl I keep listening to 'Forbidden Friendship' from HTTYD for this scene because the build up from ' mock dance invitation' to 'timidly testing the waters' to 'actually having tons of fun dancing' to 'climatic pause after the dip + tension' fits REALLY well

Aight takin a quick com break to share my ideas on the KITTY FAMILYYYY <3 (aka my take on Forneus and her kits) Headcanons under cut cuz some of them are sAD and also I tend to blather on.

Forneus has always wanted kits of her own, though perhaps not a Tom in her life to get them (She is content as she is, a traveling merchant who sees so many faces, so many stories in a day). So, by the power of a one-night stand with some dashing tall tom, she gets her wish. Albeit bittersweet when her kits come stillborn. She prays and prays to the god of death, begging, pleading for her babies to come back to her but its not Narinder that hears her fervent prayers first. She's given a choice by the god of war...Bury them as is her right, or give the kits to them. They will take them to death's gate where they just might know a shadow of life. She leapt at the chance. Not one day goes by where she doesn't think of her two little toms and how they must have grown. She knows, in her heart, they will return to her somehow..and she will know them by sight and scent the second she sees them. Aym and Baal grew up in the gateway with their master. They were a gift to a lonely god and in them he found some semblance of company and...love. Of course we all know Narinder is not the besssst of influences and it shows in the two young toms. They are fiercely loyal, quick to temper (in aym's case), and deadly in combat. Though it wasn't always so. Kits must learn and they must grow... Accidents are bound to happen- (perhaps like being given a new sharp pointy weapon only to hurt yourself immediately thereafter and have the god of death pinch your scruff between two claws to make you stop squirming as he heals you) Though their cloaks are nice and warm, the pair have only ragged tunics beneath it. After all, not many dead arrive with a) nice clothes and b) clothes big enough for the toms. Its fineeee. they're fineeee. After the events of the game, Aym and Baal choose to stay with the cult to be close to their mother and Master. Baal eventually finds himself a mate and even settles down, having a litter of twins with his orange tabby queen named Fion <3 Aym is content for a time, staying with his family and his new niece and nephew...but eventually wander lust grips him as it gripped his mother. He heads out into the world and, though he sends a sparse letter here and there, he has not been seen since. Lamb think's he's crossed the sea. Hopefully he finds whatever hes looking for. to end this on a happy note: Forneus loves her grandkits and would die for them. She has also slapped Narinder. Once. (you dont call yourself a poor father figure to kits you took care of. not around her. "You were all they had! They love you and cherish you do NOT spit in their faces so!"

Modern-ish au but in a "thousands of years post-canon universe"

In which Lamb did not spare Narinder and when they saved the Bishops from Purgatory, actually put them to rest (aka sent them to the After) and oops, the Bishops + Narinder accidentally reincarnated while the Lamb wasn't watching

In this life, the Bishops are still siblings and all were born with magic; Narinder became a priest, and though the other Bishops were raised in the temple alongside him they chose to pursue careers outside of the priesthood. Heket runs a restaurant (of course), Kallamar makes jewelry and sells crystals (he has healing magic so his crystals are literal healing crystals :) ), Leshy is a gardener and Shamura runs a bookshop (I'm sure you're noticing a theme here- their past lives are affecting their new ones). Their past lives' injuries have actually carried over, only instead of being injuries they're disabilities they were born with; Shamura their memory issues, Kallamar is deaf, Heket is mute, Leshy is blind, and Narinder has chronic pain (he WAS in chains for a thousand years, his muscles were ATROPHIED and his joints destROYED, and you cannot convince me otherwise). Not shown here; Narinder also uses a cane and on his really bad days a wheelchair.

Heket: Get a whole pumpkin Narinder, who can't lift more than 20 pounds:

Why do Narinder (and the Bishops) look the same and have the same name? Well. The world may have forgotten them, but the universe hasn't.

Aym and Baal are immortals from their time in the After in this world, and though at first they were resistant to helping the Lamb, eventually they saw they needed Help™ and had no idea what they were doing, and having been witness and aid to Narinder's job for centuries they knew how to help. Over the millennia they fell into the old familiar role of being the guardians of Death (Forneus is also an immortal so don't worry they're not separated again) and are in a constant state of Done With Lamb's Shit (/affectionate).

... I actually really love how Lamb turned out here. It was fun drawing them Older. And quite a flip with making them look older than Narinder. The society that's been built up is still religious but no one recognizes Lamb because they've changed so much over the last two thousand years, and the fact they're a sheep doesn't raise any red flags as sheep have migrated to the Lands from other continents. They're rare but not unheard of.

The Crown fits in by disguising as various types of pets, though no matter its form it always has one eye. This time it's a bird, and it recognized Narinder from a mile away :) The mind forgets but the soul remembers....

for you today i have a long post about hat symbolism in dialtown

hats, at least in the dlc, represent power. i doubt this is the case for the base game but the dlc goes to great length to point out when a character has a hat. even the oliver encounter, while the motif doesn't quite apply to him, ends with gingi pointing out his hat and how many hatted folks it's seen that day.

roger takes a lot of pride in his hat. sees it as his defining feature. however, he just found it on the ground one day, similarly to how he gained his leadership by complete chance. gingi sees the hat as this great divide between roger and peter in their first encounter, while also sensing that peter is unhappy with roger in charge. but this is played for laughs until Everything Ever Happens. roger distinctly points out that the people scamming him are wearing top hats, a detail that sticks out even to gingi. he also has a line about wanting to buy an expensive bowler hat. top hats are associated with mingus and bowler hats are associated with milton r wallace.

mingus's hat was originally a gift from callum to marla. she doesn't say this was her grandmother's, she has to mention callum, just like she does with the post card. callum saw his rise to power as a gift to help others. he changed marla's head to help her, and then changed Everyone's heads to help them. assuming the hat in this image belonged to milton, you could say something about how he was powerless to stop callum, gave up his life and more importantly his hat, etc.

mingus took the hat to feel connected to her grandparents. she became mayor of dialtown because she wants to be like callum crown. she doesn't want to help people, per se, she's just doing everything she can to jolt paw paw's memory. the hat is both part of that mission as well as a symbol of it.

hat motif is most literal for gingi than any other character. they don't know any of the hat's backstory, just that they want it. they've heard about all these people in top hats scamming roger and they want in. obviously mingus is mayor solely because of her hat. it also represents how gingi is following so closely in callum's footsteps, but will never really understand that because they don't even know who callum is.

and, well, this whole interaction

of course, the entire premise of the game hinges on people's heads, the guy's name is callum crown, hats are just another aspect of it. kinda like eyes and teeth and such. and as i'm typing this i'm realizing the scariest part of the dlc: roger had his hat stolen by a clown.

AU where during the year without Hua Cheng, Xie lian made a bunch of friends— aka people started showing up to his house to hang out.

In actuality, they all want to take care of him because they’re worried he will be sad waiting for however long it takes HC to reform. But Xie lian thinks people want to be his friend.

I don't mind hualian's pretty classic dynamic because it just hits different you know. Hua Cheng has been a punching bag nobody wanted never strong enough to protect his idol and Xie Lian had all of the world's problems placed on his shoulders since day one and then been blamed for being too weak to help every single person and having basic needs too. So let HC be a daddydom and XL a pampered whiny omega in the relationship idgaf.
