Theory: Aym and Baal's Father Is...

Not Narinder, and the true answer may have very well been right under our noses the entire time. However, I don't think anyone could be blamed for thinking it. Aym and Baal do resemble him, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was a red herring of sorts. Forneus would have to more than a thousand years old for this to be the case, and as of the Relics update, Narinder certainly doesn't act like he's their father. Not to mention, they call him "master," not "father." But if Narinder isn't their father, then who is it? Well...

Let's look at these Relics. The Tears of the Merciful Mother are clearly meant to represent Forneus, with an aesthetic to match. With this in mind, the Relic intended to represent their father more than likely also reflects his aesthetic. I'd also like to point out that both Relics do something involving hearts, which leads me to my next questions, and my prediction as to who Aym and Baal's father could be.

Why are Forneus, Aym, and Baal all named after demons? Now, you probably think this is unrelated because a lot of characters in the game are named after demons, but I'm getting to that. Why does Forneus constantly talk about hearts, with hearts even being able to be found by ransacking her shop? Why are Aym and Baal the only characters in the game whose demons aren't random? Who is this demon, the only one to not simply resemble an object, the one who also has an undeniable resemblance to Aym and Baal, and the one who provides additional starting hearts?

Headcannon for how Shamura gave Narinder the gift and they subsequent behavior🤔

ENG: I don’t know how Shamura gave Aym and Baal to Narinder, but my headcanon is that they “opened the gates of Purgatory and left only the two children behind.” From Shamura’s perspective, I think they would be reluctant to meet Narinder again because they were the one who declared him a heretic, fought him, and imprisoned him. Of course, Shamura would feel guilt and regret toward Narinder, but since Narinder would likely be filled only with hatred for them, I believe Shamura thought it wise not to show themself and only sent Aym and Baal as gifts.

Another one of my headcanons focuses on the fact that when Aym and Baal, who were only three days old, stayed in Purgatory for 50 years, their bodies grew. I think Shamura must have been the one who continually provided the necessary food like breast milk and meat for their growth. If you ask how they obtained those, I think they got them through Forneus and sent them to Narinder as offerings.

That’s because in Shamura’s domain, the Silk Cradle, there are only arthropods, and their other siblings are also insects, amphibians, or fish—making it difficult to obtain something like breast milk, which is necessary for mammals to grow.So Shamura might have regularly gone to Forneus and ordered him to offer food like breast milk and meat. Forneus, having already lost the precious two children, ended up becoming their food supplier for 50 years.

Shamura is truly a terrible bishop... 🥹

🇰🇷: 샤무라는 나린더한테 어떻게 애임과 바알을 줬는 지 모르겠지만, "연옥 문을 열어서 두 아이만 놓고 갔다"라는 헤드캐논이 있어요. 샤무라 입장에선 나린더 다시 만나는 걸 꺼려할 거 같기 때문이에요. 왜냐하면 샤무라는 나린더를 이단으로 규정해 싸우고 감옥에 넣은 장본인이기 때문이죠. 물론 샤무라는 나린더에게 죄책감과 미안한 마음이 들겠지만, 나린더는 샤무라에게 증오심만 가득할테니 굳이 모습을 안비추는 게 현명한 선택이라고 생각해서 애임과 바알만 선물로 보냈을 거 같아요.

또 다른 헤드캐논은 3일된 애임과 바알이 연옥에 50년동안 있었을 때 이들의 몸이 성장했다는 것에 초점을 두었죠. 즉, 애임과 바알이 성장할 때 필요한 모유 및 고기 등의 음식을 샤무라가 계속 조달해준 거 아닐까요? 대체 어떻게 조달해줬냐? 라고 물으면 포네우스를 통해 나린더에게 선물로 보내줬을 거라고 생각해요. 왜냐하면 샤무라가 관리하는 지역인 비단 요람(Silk cradle)은 절지동물들밖에 없고, 다른 형제자매 또한 곤충, 양서류, 어류이기 때문에 포유류가 성장할 때 필요한 모유 등의 음식을 구하기 힘들었을 거에요. 그래서 샤무라는 포네우스에게 주기적으로 찾아가서 모유랑 고기 등의 음식 공양을 바치라고 명령했을 지도 몰라요. 포네우스는 소중한 두 아이를 뺏긴 것도 모자라서 50년동안 그 아이들을 위한 식량 조달원이 되었다니.

An AU where Forneus is the one who waits. The vessel would still be the Lamb. Narinder is the wandering shop keeper . Aym and Baal were born in the afterlife. Narinder is the father and was in a relationship with Forneus before her imprisonment. Shamura didn’t have to do the kittenapping thing.

The Lamb and Forneus’s relationship is that of very good friends, Forneus being a bit doting and motherly at times.

The Lamb and Narinders relationship is at first passing acquaintances and eventually friends. After the Lamb frees his kids and ex wife (separated on friendly terms of “it’s been a thousand years hasn’t it?”) their relationship ends up becoming something more.

Forneus’s domain is probably just death like canon Narinder. She was imprisoned for trying to find a way to bring back the dead and possibly achieve immortality for mortals. Don’t look too closely at her ex husband, Narinder definitely wasn’t brought back from the dead and turned immortal by a distraught Goddess Forneus. Narinder is totally not one of the reasons Forneus was imprisoned. :)

Here’s a funny and cute idea for Aym and Baal taking care of a Baby Narinder after a resurrection goes wrong.

With the two having no contact with the outside world for decades, the idea of taking care of a kitten, much more their master, would be more than enough to make them panic 🙉 I can see the twins being a horrible babysitter so they run to Forneus for help <//33 (They totally love cooing Kittyrinder though)

Cult of the New Faith (GoatTimeLineAU) Now that Narinder has free reign to invoke death or resurrections, he will celebrate the rituals to his followers anytime he desires. Around the time Goat became the vessel, the resurrections started to have different effects on the cultists. Started with them being catatonic, and later most of the time they appeared as zombies.

It was unknown for them how to cure the zombie trait. Usually when a follower was sick, they just rest or if they died, got ressurrected later. Medicine and health was under Kallamar's domain. Althought, initially curious about it, Narinder had to do experiments on how to cure them or most of his followers are gonna get eaten.

Followers started to dissent or protested about the experiments on their loved ones, relatives, etc. Most feared that the same fate could happen to them. Ratau was tasked to appease the revolt in the meanwhile. Ended up on getting the followers distracted with various constructions. He won't notice that slowly all of those things will accumulate SIN... but that's a problem for the future.

Notes: Door and Biome design for Narinder, will only be explored on a superficial level. It may be a Savanna? Still unsure about the name. Monsters have the appeareance of felines: panters, jaguars, lynx or serval. Given the events, aside from the usual monsters (without the bishops, they are stronger) on the lands will appear zombies and damned followers too. The enemies on the savanna like biome could be part of the zombie experiments. Enemies designs are owned by Macanek (gave permission to use them)

they do, but narinder also learns. he has lots of cats to share gestures with, but lamb is the last sheep ever so i think its sweet if he works on picking up some of their cultural things

I love the Forneus and Narinder swap AU as a concept.

Big, Huge, Beautiful Goddess of Death. Seen as a mother to all who enters the afterlife. Welcome home. It’s nice to see you’re back!

The forbidden act that gets her imprisoned is a combination of things. Falling in love, getting into a relationship, getting pregnant, not accepting her husband’s MURDER, creating the resurrection ritual, making it possible for a mortal to be immortal.

Narinder is going through it. He falls in love with a different deity than his patron deity Shamura. He was Shamura’s most loyal disciple and witness. Until he fell in love and married their sibling Forneus. Shamura while fond of the cat would not stand for a mortal and a deity getting married and having kids. Shamura may have killed this AUs Narinder. Which causes Forneus to spiral and create forbidden ritual, ending in her imprisonment. Narinder blames himself heavily for what happened. His wife is imprisoned, he doesn’t get to help raise his kids. He just spends the rest of his immortal life wandering around selling things he finds.

Aym and Baal are a lot less sharp around the edges than canon. Being raised by Forneus and all. However this version of Forneus would teach them to fight, teach them to wield their magic they inherited from her. They are demigods after all. They become guides in the afterlife. Helping lost souls reach their destination. Usually their mother so she can send them to their new home. Some lost souls may be from those that have forcibly removed from their afterlife, like a resurrection spell, or forcing themselves out the theoretical door. Get your ass back inside the afterlife.

Forneus and the Lamb. Their relationship is very different than the canon lamb and Narinder. Forneus doesn’t want to sacrifice the lamb. She tells them outright that perhaps the only way to free her may be sacrificing themselves to her once they are powerful enough. But she doesn’t want to do that. She wants to find another way. And while she would rather not kill all her siblings, sadly their souls are connected to her chains. There is no saving her siblings like she can hopefully save the Lamb. (The only sibling she wants dead is Shamura, shocker)

The Lamb does end up finding another way. and she is freed without anyone dying. This way is probably the Lamb proposing the option of giving up the crown or them sharing the crown. Becoming twin deities of life and death.

Maybe giving the crown to Aym and Baal, and THEY become the twin deities of life and death. DECISIONS
