I didn’t think Cormac would survive S3 of Big Sky.
He did, so if the show is renewed, I look forward to seeing much more of Cassie + Cormac’s romance play out onscreen. 😘

8 - Our Past's Are Complicated

Part 9

Tag list - just ask to be added ☺️
Sitting up in my bed I was still half asleep stretching my arms and legs out hearing footsteps come down the hallway of our place. My sister and I decided to split the cost of the house so I didn’t have to find my own place. The footsteps halted in the doorway where I looked up. “Hey sis, Cassie called me and said she got a call from Cormac about something suspicious. So I’ll see you later.”
“Alright. Tell me what she says when you get back.” I responded hugging my knees to my cheek underneath the blankets.
She turned on her heels flipping her hair over her shoulders when she paused. “Let me just make something clear. You’re not seeing Beau right like we planned?”
Knitting my brows together I tried to play it cool like we weren’t secretly dating without her knowing. We had only had two dates and I’m not sure you could call that we had a long kiss. We only had quick little ones here or there. “What no way. We made a deal and I promised I would stick to it.”
Jenny leaned her back against the doorway crossing her arms over her chest. “Look you better not be lying to me. I don’t want you to get hurt like with JW. I dated a cop and it didn’t work out. Dating someone that you work with especially.”
“Travis and you shouldn’t have happened and I’m sorry to say that but it is true. You shouldn’t have gotten together when he was undercover.” I scoffed, crossing my arms over my chest, getting a little annoyed that she was judging me.
My sister pointed her index finger at me, raising her voice towards me. “This isn’t about Travis, this is about you, Mallory. The night you found out about the girl that he killed you came home sobbing to me. I don’t want you to feel like that again. You’re my sister and I am trying to protect you.”
Tossing the covers away I got up from the bed shrugging on some black leggings with my shirt that had a cowgirl hat on the front of it. Putting my hair in a ponytail I heard my phone go off figuring it was Beau. “I understand that but you should go. Cassie is waiting for you.” She gave me a straight face exiting the bedroom leaving me alone.
“Hey darlin’ I was thinking about bringing over some pizza and beers since we have the day off. Sound cool to you?” He asked through the phone.
Closing the fridge I pulled out some beers knowing that my sister wouldn’t be back for a few hours so I could replace the ones we drank. “Yep I’ve got the beers covered. So come on over.” It wasn’t long before I heard him knock three times on the front door only an hour later.
Getting up from the couch I flung open the door smiling towards my boss. He walked in sitting the food on the table in front of the tv before embracing me in a hug. “I’ve missed you, Mal.” Nuzzling my head into his chest flinging my arms around his neck. His arms secured around my waist resting his chin on top of my head softly. Clutching my hands into fists behind his back I sniffed slowly starting to cry into his embrace where he clearly noticed. “Mallory, what’s wrong. Why are you crying? Talk to me sweetheart.”
He broke the hug gently holding his hands on my forearms. Those green eyes focused on me as I let tears slip down my face. “Beau, it’s nothing…I’m fine. Let’s eat pizza.”
I removed myself from his hold but he managed to snag my wrist quickly. “Hold on, Mallory. Seriously, you know you can talk to me. So please tell me what is bothering you.”
“Jenny and I had a fight sort of this morning…” I trailed off where he led me down to sit on the couch intertwining my hands with his in my lap. He didn’t say a word, just letting me go at my own pace. “She’s piecing together that we are getting close. I hate lying to her but she has put this idea in her head that you will be like my ex John Wayne. And I brought up her ex Travis because he’s why she won’t date cops anymore…she thinks that will happen to me…to us.”
Beau reached up, wiping away some of the tears from my cheeks. “The drug dealer cartel.” I nodded my head yes slowly before he kept talking. “Look, you shouldn’t be having fights with her about our relationship. Now you told me about your past with JW and I even have my own past. So don’t ever think that you can’t talk to me about what you think I might do wrong. I messed up with Carla and Emily but I will do better with you,”
Squeezing his hands in mine I wiped away opening the pizza box handing him a piece taking a bite out of mine. “Can I ask what happened between you two? Like why didn’t it work if you don’t mind.”
“It’s fine, don't worry.” He took a bite handing me the pepperoni from his piece since he just wanted cheese pizza tonight. “Let’s just say that we had fights over little things. Me coming home and drinking after a hard day of work. That turned into almost everyday before I left for work. And I just became different around everyone…long story short I’m trying to move past them now.”
Sitting my piece of pizza down I lay my head on his shoulder where he draped his arm over tugging me closer into his embrace. A comfortable silence filled the house while we just sat there together. Slowly turning my head I saw he was staring down at me longingly too. “You’re a good guy, Beau. I wish I would have met you first.”
“You’re perfect, Mallory. Your ex was a dumbass.” He responded in an almost mumble underneath his breath blinking once as he leans forward and I followed shortly, connecting our lips in a long kiss. He snacks his arms around my waist where I climbed in his lap, never breaking the kiss.
Running my fingers up his chest I gripped the fabric of his white flannel shirt for a few minutes before my fingers knotted themselves in his hair tugging a few strands hearing him moan into the kiss. The Texas sheriff ran his hands up my back resting one hand there moving his other up to cradle my face gently. I broke the kiss for a split second hearing us both panting but we were so caught up in the moment that neither of us seemed to care.
Beau deepened the kiss cupping the other side of my face with his hand. Wrapping my arms around his neck he leaned back onto the couch when I tilted his chin up not expecting that our day would go like this. He moved his hands underneath my shirt, breaking the kiss searching for me to tell him stop. “Do you want me to stop?”
"No. I…um. I've never done anything more than this. Not even with my ex.." I blushed, feeling embarrassed that here I was still a virgin while my sister was married and already had a kid in college.
Beau gently turned my chin back toward him so I was focused on his green eyes resting his forehead against mine. "We don't have to do anything else if you're not ready for it honey." Bending my head down I snuggle into his warmth letting him wrap his arms around me kissing my forehead until his phone rang. "Arlen, what's up. Wait, what do you mean you let her go into the woods alone?"
I could tell by the frustration in his tone that it must be the new husband he was talking too. He hung up the phone causing me to sit upright on the couch. "What was that about?"
"Carla's new husband, Avery. He let my daughter go into the woods by herself and now he called saying she was all in a panic. Also they found a dead girl's body that was brought back. I'm sorry Mallory but I've gotta go." He stood up, removing himself from my hold heading for the door.
Snatching my boots that I had accidentally thrown under the couch coming home late from the office I grabbed my cameo jacket calling his name. "Beau, wait." He paused watching me grab my house key following him to his truck. "I'm coming with you."
Comments really appreciated ❤️

These guys could have been such a HOT couple. Like seriously, are you kidding me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, aside from them being a good-looking pair, I did see and feel more chemistry (romantic and friendship) from those two right from their first interaction last season. They play off each other so well. So much potential. Just saying 😌 🤷🏾‍♀️
Jenny/Beau just felt too forced and predictable. Lol, I actually love predictable, especially if it makes sense. But it shouldn't feel forced. And that's how it felt with them. Like I expected the writing to go the Jenny/Beau route, but it felt like it didn't fully land where it was mean to. I even felt more chemistry with him and his ex-wife than with Jenny. I don't know, I just wasn't feeling it.
At least there wasn't a love triangle with the leads. That would have annoyed the shit outta me. But it did feel like they were goading a Cassie/Beau thing in the beginning with some of the little comments here and there.
And because I knew they were going the Jenny/Beau route, it got to a point where I was audibly talking to myself and pretending I was talking to the writers/Beau "Are you sure you like Jenny and not Cassie?" Lol 😄 I got more of "Jenny might be into him" vibes but not from his end.
I would have liked Beau and Cassie, but then I also really like Cassie and Cormac . She has chemistry with both. Her and Cormac are really cute though. I loved all their adorable flirting. I was so happy Cormac didn't turn out to be a bad guy or die at the end. Cassie has been through so much. Didn't want her to hurt again 😔

Unforgivable
Tumblr media
Sequel to A Little Rowdy, because I just wasn't done with those two! Planning for three parts (unless my muse goes crazy, it happens). Huge thanks to editsbymichele (IG) for the lovely Beau header - beautiful as always, my friend!! And thank you to @firefly-graphics for the divider!
Beau and Laney have settled into a comfortable relationship, things are smooth and easy - until Laney is threatened, and Beau strongly suspects she's not the real target.
Pairing: Beau Arlen x Laney Marcus
Word Count: 1964
Warnings: Smut (as usual), stalking, menacing behavior
Tumblr media
Laney sang along with the song blasting from her speakers as she drove to Beau’s trailer for movie night. Beau and Cassie had started the tradition, which had grown to include Jenny, and now it had morphed even larger - Cassie and Cormac, Jenny and Matt, and she had joined the party with Beau. He had to buy more chairs, and they needed more beer, but they always had a good time. And, of course, it didn’t actually happen every week due to how busy everyone’s lives were, but they always managed at least a couple of movie nights a month.
It was Beau’s turn to pick tonight, and he was going old-school western with The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The movie choice process had morphed, too, and after sometimes endless arguing (seriously, Cassie and Beau argued like they were brother and sister sometimes), Beau had declared that they would take turns picking the movie and nobody could know what it was until that night so no one would ditch if they didn’t like the choice. He always told Laney, though – she wouldn’t ditch him no matter what awful movie he picked.
They had gone out to Cassie’s ranch house a couple of times, but it just wasn’t the same. There was just something about sitting on the makeshift deck next to Beau’s trailer with a fire blazing in the fire pit and watching the movie outside, lounging in old Adirondack chairs with pillows and blankets, eating popcorn or roasting marshmallows, as much talking and laughing as there was movie-watching.
Laney pulled in and parked, smiling up at Beau as he opened her door and took her hand to help her out of the car. “Well, aren’t I getting special treatment tonight!” she teased, going on tiptoe to kiss him. He wrapped an arm around her, successfully lengthening the encounter, then smiling down at her as he finally raised his head.
“Got a surprise for you.”
“Yeah?” Her eyes shined as she grinned up at him. “Show me!”
He took her hand and led her from the car, stepping aside as they reached the trailer. Her eyes widened and she laughed, squeezing his hand and then moving to the deck to run her hand over the new addition, an Adirondack-style love seat. “You got us a two-seater! Oh, there’s gonna be fighting over this, Beau.”
He shook his head. “No, there isn’t. This is ours. If those guys want one, they can get their own.” He stepped up and kissed her, his hands on her waist, then looked down at her happy face, his eyes crinkling as he gave her an affectionate smile. “I got tired of not being able to cuddle with you during the movie. So I fixed it.”
“I love it. Cushions and everything!” She moved closer, slipping her arms around him and looking up at him from beneath her lashes. “You know, I’m feeling very cuddly tonight.”
He laughed softly. “Good. That’s good. Because the second part of the surprise is that it’s just you and me tonight, darlin’. We haven’t had much time alone together lately with work and everything, and…” He didn’t get to finish as Laney stretched up to kiss him silent, and he didn’t even mind.
They gathered their snacks, the small cooler with beer, and the largest blanket Beau owned, and he pulled an old wrought-iron coffee table over to use as a footstool. “We don’t have to watch a western tonight, do we?” Laney looked up at him, pleading, and Beau laughed.
“No, we can save that one for next time. Help me look.” They found a campy old comedy, opened their beers, and settled in. They drank beer, munched on popcorn, and laughed at the movie, enjoying being able to be close.
Laney finished her beer and set the bottle down beside the love seat, pulling her arms underneath the blanket and snuggling into Beau as he wrapped his arms around her. She sighed happily, leaning back on his shoulder as he hugged her tight, brushing a kiss into her hair. His fingers slipped beneath the collar of her shirt, gentle caresses along her collarbone making her melt back against him. His hand moved gradually lower until he was skimming over the soft round of her breast, fingertips tracing along the lacy top of her bra.
“I feel like a high school girl in the back row at the movies,” she whispered, smiling up at Beau, and he bent to kiss her lips with a crooked little grin.
“So what does that make me, a horny teenage boy?” he teased, busying his hands at the buttons of her shirt.
“Pretty much, yeah,” she giggled, catching her breath when he opened her shirt and gently tugged the cups of her bra down to free her breasts.
“Much better,” he muttered in her ear, kneading and squeezing at her warm flesh, her nipple hardening in his palm. “So, think I can make it to third base?”
Laney gasped a little as he gave a tug to her nipple, his other hand working her jeans open. “Oh, I’m sure you’re gonna get very lucky tonight.”
Beau growled softly, nipping gently at her earlobe as he lifted her leg and draped it over his thigh. He slipped his fingers under the top of her panties, pressing forward until he could cup her sex entirely in his large hand. “I’m feelin’ pretty damn lucky already.” He continued teasing at her nipples as he brushed his fingers over her pussy, exploring, finally penetrating her with two long fingers and making her squirm.
“Beau!” Her hips bucked up as he wriggled his fingers inside her, and he laughed softly.
“Careful, darlin’ – if you get too loud, Mrs. Ortiz across the way will be spying out her window, tryin’ to see what’s goin’ on over here.”
“I shouldn’t be the only one who has to be quiet,” Laney sassed, a little breathlessly as Beau rubbed his fingertips over her sweet spot again. She moved her hand to his waist, popping the button on his jeans and sliding the zipper down. Beau jumped as she shoved her hand down the front of his boxer briefs and wrapped her fingers around his cock, giggling softly as he threw his head back with a moan.
“Watch yourself, woman, you might end up ridin’ me right here in front of God and everybody,” he threatened with a smirk. He leaned close to kiss her quick and hard, raising his head to stare into her eyes as he began to pump his fingers with more purpose, the heel of his hand rubbing over her clit with each stroke. “You gonna be good for me? Keep quiet when you come?”
Laney’s eyes squeezed closed, her head dropping back onto his shoulder as she began to writhe beneath his touch, looking back up at him desperately. “I can’t, Beau… I can’t, you’d better help me or Mrs. Ortiz is gonna do more than look out her window, she’s gonna be coming over here to see what the hell is going on, I mean it…”
“Shhhhh…” Beau grinned, capturing her lips in a ravenous kiss to muffle the sounds she could no longer control as she bucked hard into his thrusts, finally coming undone. He gave her a moment, then pulled back a little to let her breathe, panting hard himself as he watched her ride out her high. “That’s my girl,” he muttered as he kissed her again, letting things calm slowly. She finally let her eyes drift open again, smiling languidly up at him. “You might want to loosen that grip just a tad, darlin’,” he coaxed, watching her momentary confusion and then the slight widening of her eyes as she realized, relaxing her fingers around his erection.
“Sorry,” she whispered, laughing softly as he breathed out a sigh of relief. She looked up at him, her face the picture of innocence. “If only there were something I could do to, you know, show you how sorry I am.”
He shook his head at her, fighting the smile teasing at the corners of his mouth. “All right, you – wrap that blanket around yourself and get your sexy ass in that trailer.” He stood up, pulling his jeans back into place, and held out a hand to help her up, making sure she was covered before she turned to head for the trailer. She let out a little squeak as he swatted her butt on the way in, their teasing laughter muffled to the outside as he pulled the door shut behind them.
In the shadows on the roof of Mrs. Ortiz’s trailer, a figure moved, climbing silently down from their perch. The camera was slipped into a backpack, zipper closed, stealthy footsteps moved to the trunk of a dark sedan. One more task, and they could call it a night – the first step in the plan to make that son of a bitch pay.
Tumblr media
Laney’s eyes drifted open, and she smiled sleepily at the sight before her. Beau was still sound asleep on his side facing her, the morning sun filtered through the curtains highlighting his freckles and tinting his hair and eyelashes a ginger hue. She reached a finger to touch the lashes fanned against his cheek, her smile growing as his nose crinkled a little, one beautiful green eye opening to peek at her.
“What are you up to?” he asked, voice still husky with sleep.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“Well, if you’re gonna wake me up, you could at least kiss me.” She moved in close, happy to comply with his request. His hands roamed lazily over her soft skin, stopping suddenly when her stomach growled, his eyes wide and a smirk on his face. “Maybe I’d better feed you before this goes any further.”
She giggled, blushing, shoving at his shoulder. “I am hungry. Maybe we should go get breakfast. After we go to my place and shower.”
“I do have a shower, y’know.”
“Yeah. I know. It gives me claustrophobia. Mine is much bigger.”
He sighed, pretending to be offended. “Fine. Just so you know, not a great thing to tell a man his stuff is too small. Tends to hurt our feelings.”
Laney laughed again, leaning in to kiss him and wrap a hand around his healthy morning erection. “You’re very large everywhere it counts, cowboy.”
“Ok, well don’t start somethin’ you don’t wanna finish right now, darlin’. Let’s get to your place, clean up and get you fed before you start takin’ bites outta me.”
“Mmmmm, we’ll do that later,” she teased, climbing out of bed and searching for her clothes, which had been flung every direction the night before.
After they both were dressed, they headed out the door. “Want to take my car?” she asked, and Beau nodded.
“Yeah, Pedro’s acting up again. I need to get Cassie over here to look at the engine again. Oh, shit – forgot my phone. I’ll meet you at the car.”
Laney pulled her keys from her pocket, walking to her car, smiling and waving at one of the neighborhood kids riding his tricycle in a nearby yard. She unlocked the door, moving to climb in before her eyes registered what waited for her in the driver’s seat. She backed away with a terrified scream, bringing Beau running from the trailer.
“Laney?! Laney! What’s wrong?” He came to a stop at her side, looking towards where she pointed, her hand shaking.
A large rattlesnake was coiled on the seat as if ready to strike – thankfully the creature was dead. On top of it lay a handwritten sign in large, red letters: HE CAN’T PROTECT YOU.

Ch. 2, Irresponsible
'My Marauders' Masterlist General Masterlist Read On Wattpad - Here!
Pairings: J.P., R.L., S.B. x OC Warnings: N/A Word Count: 1.9K
As Calliope ascended the wooden steps into the Ravenclaw common room, she found herself entering a nearly empty, dimly lit main room. With a resigned sigh, she made her way to the next set of stairs, lamenting her luck at being sorted into one of the two houses perched on a towering spire.
After ascending several flights of stairs, Calliope finally reached her dormitory.
She knocked first, hoping to spare herself any awkward sights that might not be meant for her eyes. Knowing her roommate Cassandra Oakes, such encounters were always a possibility. Originally intended for four occupants, their previous roommates had opted for different accommodations, likely due to Cass and Cal's lively late-night discussions. Cassandra, however, insisted it was because they were "intimidated by our strong personalities."
"Who is it?" Cassandra's singsong voice chimed through the door.
"Your favorite girl in the whole world!" Cal replied in a matching tone.
"Rowena Ravenclaw?! Great to hear you've risen from the dead!"
"Haha, very funny. Now let me in!" Cal shot back, playfully rolling her eyes.
She heard Cassandra shuffle behind the door and quickly turned the knob to let her in. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Cal said dramatically, placing a hand over her heart. "Cass, let me in, I just want to crash."
She stepped aside and welcomed the frustrated girl into the room.
"What's wrong, Calli?"
"Got detention for a week," Calliope grumbled, her frustration evident. "That damn Pettigrew, that asshole."
"Whoa," Cassandra gawked, her green eyes widening. "What happened to my beloved?"
Calliope threw herself onto her bed, choosing to ignore Cassandra's playful tone. She recounted everything, from their escapade in the Forbidden Forest to the uncertain fate of the boys and her punishment.
"Damn, Cal. Haven't heard you curse like that since fifth year when the boys dyed your hair pink," Cassandra remarked with a hint of amusement. "I like it though."
"Perhaps you should get used to it," Calliope groaned as she sprawled out on her bed. With their other two roommates absent, the girls had ingeniously pushed the vacant beds next to theirs, creating a larger sleeping space.
"C'mon, it'll be okay. Just a few dreaded detentions with Slughorn, or maybe Flitwick, or even Binns. It's nothing to worry about! Think on the bright side," Cassandra said, trying to ease her frustration.
"I mean, when you put it that way, maybe it will be..." Calliope mumbled from under a pillow. "But it's only been one week since the school year started, and I've already got a week-long detention!"
A chuckle escaped from the girl across from her. "Now that is just funny. Stop being so angry, Cal! You're bringing down the mood. Let's have some fun, hm?"
"Cass... what kind of fun are you suggesting?" Calliope asked suspiciously, her eyebrows arching as she eyed her friend with curiosity.
The blonde-haired girl grinned mischievously as she pulled out a fresh bottle of firewhiskey.
"Cassie!"
"Hey, it's your call. Want to have some fun? No classes tomorrow, so you can relax if you'd like..." She teased, waving the glass bottle in front of the other girl's face.
"Fine. Pour me a shot—or twelve."
"Attagirl."
The girls sat on their blue shag carpet. Cass poured two shots for them and placed the bottle on the cold hardwood floor.
"Wanna do a countdown?"
"Fuck it, sure."
"One... two... three!" they chanted in unison, raising their glasses and quickly downing the shots.
"Hurts a lot less than when we did this in the fifth year," Calliope giggled. "We've had a lot of practice since then."
"Too true," Cassandra agreed, pouring two more shots. "Alright, how about a game, Thorne? Fuck, Marry, Kill?"
"Go on, Oakes."
"Severus Snape, Cormac McLaggen, and... Frank Longbottom!"
Calliope bit her cheek thoughtfully, deliberating her decision. "Kill Frank. He's a nice guy, but he's so obsessed with Alice. If we were fucking or married, all he'd talk about is his dear Alice."
A laugh leaves the other girl's mouth, "Kinda cute though, I need a man to be that devoted to me."
"You and I both know that you would be so creeped out if a man gave you that attention!" Calliope teases.
"Fair, continue," Cassandra says with a giggle.
Calliope quickly downed another shot, preparing herself for the sentence she was about to utter. "Fuck Snape," she said, closing her eyes and imagining what the boys would think if they heard that.
"It's the nose!" Cassandra claps her hands together and points towards her face.
"The nose!" Cal repeats.
"So you're marrying McLaggen? You know he'd absolutely cheat."
"Merlin, without a doubt, but you just know he's a good shag! If I could have that all day, every day, only Godric knows..."
"Oh, I know..." Cassandra smirked knowingly.
"Cassandra Oakes! You didn't shag Cormac! When?!" Calliope shouts out, the noise echoing throughout the room.
"I absolutely did. End of sixth year. Godric, he was good."
"I can't believe you didn't tell me!"
"I tried to, but it completely slipped my mind. Listen, next time—and there will be a next time—I'll fill you in on all the juicy details."
"You can spare me some details, but I'll hold you to that."
After a few more rounds of their playful game, they stumbled upon an intriguing choice.
"Fuck, marry, kill," Cassandra began with a mischievous smirk on her buzzed face. "Remus Lupin, James Potter, Sirius Black."
A gasp escaped Cal's throat. Could she answer this? Was there even a right way? One thing she knew for certain: she was far too drunk to handle this question delicately.
"Fuck 'em all. All day, all night. Together, apart, whatever."
"Cal!" Cassandra yells out in amusement.
"Have you seen them?! They're incredible!" Calliope wouldn't dare speak about her friends like this when sober, but drunk words do tend to reveal true feelings.
She didn't have any romantic feelings for the boys at the moment, so it was okay... right?
"You're crazy!" She laughs so hard that she ends up tumbling back onto the floor.
"I bet I could too..." Calliope mused, biting her lip gently as she considered the possibility.
"I don't doubt it. You're hot, Calli!" Laughter erupted from both girls.
Once the laughter settled down, Calliope checked the time. "Damn, it's nearly three in the morning."
"No way, time flies, huh?" Cassandra yawned. "I think there's a slight possibility it might be time for bed..."
"I'd have to agree with you on that."
The girls climbed into their large beds, slipping under the snug blankets.
"Goodnight."
"Night, Cassie."
As the sun filtered through their thin curtains and the rest of Hogwarts had already awoken, Cass and Cal remained deep in their slumber. It wasn't until a loud pounding at the door startled them awake, causing the girls to sit up quickly, hearts pounding in their chests.
"What the fuc-"
"Calliope Thorne! Get your arse down here, please! There's some annoying Gryffindor downstairs asking where you are."
With a slight hangover causing her head to spin lightly, Calliope grumbled as she removed the soft covers from her bare legs.
"I wonder if it's loverboy number one, or perhaps loverboy number two, but I could also see it being loverboy number three," Cassandra mumbles into her pillow.
"Be quiet, Cass..." The frustrated girl groans.
The pounding on the door continues, getting progressively louder.
"Oi! She's coming. Quiet that knocking!" Cassandra shouts before Calliope has the chance to respond to the knocking.
She opened the door and stepped out, searching for the girl who had been knocking, but the sunny hallway was empty except for Calliope herself. Descending the stairs, she eventually reached the exit of the common room.
She rubbed her eyes gently, trying to alleviate the slight nausea building up. After a moment to compose herself, she pushed the door open and was met by a tall man with furrowed eyebrows.
"Love?"
"Remus? What're you doing here?"
"It's one in the afternoon? We always study on Sundays... and you weren't at breakfast or lunch. Are you okay?" He said in a concerned and confused tone, eyeing her state closely.
"Oh, just fine," she replied, attempting to shake off the consequences of last night.
Before Remus could guess what ailed the girl before him, he was interrupted by a familiar voice.
"Moony! Did you get her out yet?" a voice called out from the stairs below, interrupting the moment between Remus and Calliope as they shared a look.
"Hello?!" The voice shouted up again when there was no response. They heard loud stomps ascending the stairs, and Calliope could only assume who it might be.
"Remus, why didn't you answer? We had a plan!" The boy's face fell as he reached the top of the stairs. "Oh... Hello, Cal..."
"Sirius," she greeted back coolly. "I hope James isn't down there to aid this pitiful ambush."
"Unfortunately, no. He has practice, but he sends his warmest regards," Sirius joked, with Remus standing off to the side.
"Sirius? You skipped practice?" Calliope stared at him, confusion evident in her expression.
"James asked me to see if you're okay, Cal. He just couldn't be separated from his captain duties," Sirius explained.
Before Calliope could ask another question, Remus quickly interrupted.
"You worried us all today, Calliope. Peter was nervous it was his fault," Remus stated, looking into the girl's tired eyes.
"I'm sorry. I just woke up... had a long night," Calliope replied apologetically.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Sirius asked, his face scrunching up in confusion.
"Oh— I meant I was just up with Cassandra late last night," Calliope explained, her voice still a touch groggy from just waking up. She stood in the doorway, her hair tousled and eyes slightly bleary as she rubbed them gently.
"Take no offense by this, but you are looking rather sickly. Are you sure you were only 'talking'?" Remus asked, alluding to her obvious hangover.
"Oh shit," Sirius began, a smirk forming on his face. "You're hungover, aren't you?"
A light blush and nervous smile broke across Calliope's face. It was enough to tell the boys exactly what she had been up to last night.
"Calliope," Remus said firmly, pursing his lips together and crossing his arms.
"Without us? Cal!" Sirius whined jokingly, the smirk still on his face.
"That is utterly irresponsible," Remus remarked sternly, his expression showing concern.
"Yeah, yeah. I get it, Remus. You could do with a few drinks," the girl teased, a playful glint in her eye.
"I know I could!" Sirius quickly chimed in, with a playful grin.
The two to the sides of Sirius decide to ignore his exclamation. "Sober up quickly, Cal. We are expecting you to sit with us today for dinner. We have some things to discuss," Remus says, rubbing his hands on his pants as Sirius begins, "It is about your punishment if you didn't catch on."
"Got it, Sirius, thanks," Calliope responded with a nod, receiving an encouraging two thumbs up from the long-haired boy beside her. "Alright, is that all, boys?" she asked, eager to sit down and avoid dealing with the aftermath of last night.
The boys nodded, their faces etched with concern for her state. They bid her goodbye, and as they turned to leave, Remus called out, "Don't forget about dinner!"
"Uh huh, got it the first time!" Calliope replied, smiling gently as she closed the common room door.

As promised, thoughts on the new Big Sky episode is here. Spoilers below the cut.
Well, the "Buck is the one behind the Bleeding Heart murders " theory turned out to be right. Paige hurt him pretty bad, but he's alive and killed the man for the car in front of the dog. That sick...!
Anyway. Moving on our main trio. Beau checking on Emily, while sweet, is a sign of future trouble. And hearing him say "Cass" and "Bunker" activated my SPN senses. Thanks, Jensen.
Also, I've got a question for you, Carla. Who in their right mind chats with a potential kidnapper?! You're no boss lady. You're crazy.
And you know, as mentally unstable as Walter is, he's got a point. Sunny and Buck are the ones who started "Barnes Family Affair" and Cormac and Walter are the ones suffering for it. And he's also very sweet to Paige (Cassie x Cormac moment was nice too). I just hope he won't do something too crazy for her. Weird thing to say, but... *shrugs* Also, although Sunny is the one at fault, that with her obsession with protecting Walter, thar her family is ruined, sons left her, husband's a psycho, I kinda feel sorry for her. Emphasis on kinda.
And Beau's fears came true. Emily's kidnapped and he's rightfully pissed at Avery and scared. And blames himself - hi Dean - and Jenny comforted him. Speaking of Avery, he and Beau made a plan. Which went awry, of course, and Avery is dead (Donno is hurt, hopefully he's alive; he's weird, but he and Tonya are sweet), which is bad for Beau x Jenny ship.
Ugh.
Anyway, turns out Emily and Denise were kidnapped not by the mafia or whatever, but by Buck and he called Sunny. And the ep ended on that. All in all, despite the rushness and the ruining of my fave ship, they sure know how to keep us on edge, let me tell ya.
And that's end of the post. Sorry if it was messy, my emotions are all over the place due to the sinking of Beau x Jenny ship. Stay tuned until the final episode, guys!

Come chat with me about the episode below the cut:
So we learned just an inkling more about Beau this episode. He talked a bit about the differences between Montana and Texas, which I found entertaining. We still didn't get anything about his ex-wife or his divorce, which I'm dying to know about.
Can I just say how much I'm loving the empathy he shows to the suspects they deal with. Like how he was in the first episode with the Mom who just wanted to see her daughter before she was taken away. He told Hoyt to give her time to hug her daughter and say goodbye.
Then in this episode the way he was with Ivan was very sweet. In the beginning, the way he took the chance that Ivan wasn't going to shoot them, putting his gun away to show that belief and his encouraging little, "Come on Ivan." we're so sweet. Then at the end, convincing him that the swindler wasn't worth going to jail over. I love that empathetic streak in him.
I have to say I was very disappointed that Beau didn't get to punch Avery In the teeth and that he doesn't even know what happened!! I certainly hope he discovers it at some point and gets to use him like a punching bag!
I like Emily a lot and I like that she tried to reach out to her Dad with the Sat phone that she was denied. I really like how tenacious she is, and that she went after Avery for being super sketchy. I also love the little dig she gave Avery when she was saying she wanted to go back for knife because it was special to her. "My FATHER gave it to me." Loved that.
Oh, and Avery is sketchy af!! I so wish Emily could reach Beau because if she could reach him, her concerns might even end up helping Cassie and Denise reach the right conclusions.
Ooh, the scene where Cassie almost saw the backpackers body in Walt's truck?!! She was so close! That was a great tense scene!
I don't know what to make of Cormac, he kinda skeeves me out, but I can't tell whether the show wants me to feel that way, because he's a red herring, it because there really is something up with him! Aaahh!!
All the scenes with Walt and Sunny continue to be creepy af. Their dynamic is so dysfunctional and weird!! Love it!
Now to the stuff with Jenny x Beau x Cassie!
I appreciate that they're trying to do a slow burn with Jenny and Beau, and as I stated, I will take Jensen Ackles in a love scene with ANYONE!! But I really prefer him and Cassie. I like their relationship more, but I also just prefer Cassie's character to Jenny's. I just can't really like Hoyt. It's partly my issues with Kathryn Winnick, but also, I just find her character kind of abrasive and unlikeable most of the time. With Cassie, she's a badass and she gets the job done, but she's also warm and caring. Jenny always just makes me wanna slap her a little. Lol!
I did find some sympathy for the character though in this episode when she was talking with her Mom, cause you can see she really wants to trust her and a part of her wants to think her Mom came back, at least partly, to see her. So when she finds out, nope it was just a scam, I felt bad for her.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on the episode, please let me know yours!
P.S. I had to "rewind" and rewatch a couple great shots of Beau's ass - multiple times in this episode. I also found it remarkably hot when Ivan was telling him to get back down, or he'd shoot him, and Beau was just like, "No." And then when Ivan is like, "wtf did you say?" again Beau is just stone faced, and like, "I said, no." It was just such a badass move!!
I reiterate, Beau Arlen is gonna kill me.

Unknown to either of us Jenny was sitting at the bar clutching a beer bottle in her hands watching the two of us before Cassie came and sat down beside her. "Jenny, I think you were wrong about Mallory." The blonde knew she wasn't leaving the bar anytime soon tonight.
Jenny raised her beer to her lips, scoffing. "I don't want to talk about this, Cass. She clearly doesn't care what I think, considering she was just doing karaoke with Beau a few minutes ago."
"Come on, Jenny. You can't really be mad at her over this. She is a grown person and should be able to make the choice on her own." Her friend explained ordering a beer for herself.
Jenny shook her head not wanting to admit that she might be right. Even if she was she could have told her that she changed her mind and had found someone she liked. But she didn't do anything like that, that was why she was frustrated with her little sister. "I get it, Cassie. But she lied to me. She lied to me even though she came home begging me to find her a guy that wasn't going to hurt her. I was doing my job to protect her and she just threw our trust away."
"So you're just going to be mad at her forever over this?" Cassie asked her. "I mean I get that she is your little sister. But she has to make her own choices in life. If she does get hurt again all you can do is be there for her."
Jenny sighed, pulling out some money paying the bartender sliding off the barstool. "I'll see you tomorrow, Cassie. And you're right I am doing it to look out for her. I just can't forgive her so easily."
"You did it for me with Cody. How is this any different?" Her friend asked, turning around on her barstool.
Jenny Hoyt paused in the doorway of the bar looking back at her. "I'm not gonna answer that. Goodnight Cassie."
Mallory's POV
Stretching my arms and legs out I turned over in a bed finding the other side was empty. Sitting upright I felt my head hurting from the amount of drinks we had last night at the bar. Looking around I was inside Beau's trailer where he was asleep on the couch that I could see in the living room. "Beau, Beau. Wake up." I called his name seeing he didn't move and just snored.
Grabbing one of the pillows I threw one on his stomach where he grumbled waking up rubbing his eyes looking ame confused. "Who the what - Mallory. Oh boy, we should not have drank tequila last night."
"For sure...do you happen to have any pain medicine anywhere?" I asked closing my eyes gently, laying back down, pulling the covers over my face seeing the sunlight trying to break through the curtains of the window.
Beau got up from the couch rummaging around in a cabinet or something before he gently pulled back the covers handing me a pill. Sitting back up I took it before he sat at the foot of the bed turning his phone on changing into a panicked state. "Crap I can't believe I forgot about Emily. She's gonna be so mad if I am late. And Carla has left three voicemails."
"Beau whoa slow down. What has you so freaked out. Just talk to me." I asked, swinging my legs over the side of the bed so we were sitting beside each other.
He turned his head in my direction running his freehand through his hair creating a messy look. We didn't get back to the trailer until almost midnight just talking at the bar till they closed for the evening. "I told her that we could spend the day together just the two of us. But I have this splitting headache and she is coming over in an hour."
"Hey Beau, it's okay. Look, I'll help you get through this hangover. And if you want, this could be the day I meet your daughter officially if you want." I suggested clasping my hands together in my lap feeling my headache starting to get better after taking the pain medicine.
The sheriff shot me a look of confusion at my offer. The two of you hadn't talked about meeting his daughter yet. Since we were still trying to take things slowly. "I mean if you want too we can Mallory. I don't want to pressure you into anything. Emily will probably be thrilled."
"Don't worry it won't be like the argument with my sister last night. She seems really nice, Beau." I replied, getting to my feet trying to make myself not look like I passed out here with her father before the girl would get here.
It was exactly an hour before a car pulled up in the driveway and I saw Emily get out waving bye to her mother when we stepped outside onto the porch. "Hey dad. Hey Mallory." She hugged him gently, smiling at the both of us.
"Hey 'Em, so there is something we should talk about." Beau broke the hug glancing my direction with a nervous smile on his face. He is normally a very confident person up until this moment in front of me and his daughter.
The teenage girl nodded, opening the door, putting her bag inside as we all sat down in chairs staring at one another in silence. I wasn't sure what to say or how to start the conversation between me and her. "So what did you guys want to talk about?"
"Well Em, do you remember when I was telling you about a new girl that I was dating. The truth is that she is Mallory. Jenny's sister even though the three of us work together." Beau explains slumping his shoulders still feeling nervous about what she would say next.
She grinned ear to ear, slapping her hands on her knees before getting up and hugging me suddenly. "That is so great. Mallory. Now there is some stuff I have to tell you about my dad. Like he wants to have you and your dog move in with him and he also snores sometimes at night. Oh and-"
"Alright alright kiddo. How about you get settled in for the night. I'm gonna talk with Mal." Beau held his hands up, cutting her off before she could say something else.
I chuckled watching her leave us outside alone before I intertwined his hands with mine. "Calm down Beau. I don't think she will embarrass you too much. I am just revealed that she actually likes me."
"See I told you she would. You're a special girl to me,Mallory." He leaned down kissing me where I kissed him until an idea popped into my head where I broke away from him going to find Emily.
Flinging the door opened I called down the hallway remembering something that he has done at work that me and Jenny found hilarious. "Emilf if you want to talk about your father he has a ten year old picture of himself on the sheriffs department website and he refuses to change it!"
"Mallory, I'm not changing the picture. And she doesn't need to know that." Beau sighed heavily standing in the doorway seeing us sitting on the couch laughing now.
Emily laughed falling back until she pointed her index finger at me. "He says people in Texas call him BT but I don't remember anyone ever calling him that."
Covering my mouth with my hands I started laughing even more at how easy we were getting along with Beau just standing uncomfortably in front of us. "Oh my gosh. I can't wait to hear more."
"Who wants breakfast? Oh, is that my phone? Maybe it's a call from Cassie." Beau pretended to search for his phone until I got to my feet, kissing him slowly with a smile.
Wrapping my arms around his neck he smiled into the kiss. "Awe don't worry, Beau. Isn't it important that we are bonding and like each other even if it's over you."
"I guess so, Mal." He mumbled looking back at his daughter where she takes a picture of us holding each other like this smiling back at her.
Comments really appreciated ❤️

Glitch Chapter 4
Glitch masterlist
Summary- After three years at Hogwarts, Scarlett Dean thought that she was ready to take on another year. I mean how hard could it be, right? Wrong. So very wrong. Things turn sour when secrets are spilled and friends are made with those who she was told to stay away from.
Harry Potter x OFC
---
Scarlett's breaths were deep, her lungs trying to bring the needed oxygen to her legs to remove the ache. The tingling spread up her arms and through her body as she rested her head on the bedpost connected to her bed. It was quick, her body reacting to the curse that was put on her when she was born. Her eyes fluttered closed, only to open what felt like seconds later. Her legs shook as she stood up in a house. The walls were covered in black, actually, everything was covered with black.
"What?" She scanned the walls for anything that she might recognize, but all was there were fake heads- wait no, were those house elfs? Staggering back, she knocked over her own feet and landed on the floor.
"She did what?" A voice yelled, making the girl jump. It was a man, she assumed, his voice towering over the huge house.
"Left me. She left me." Another voice wept, his words broken up with sobs.
"With no reason? There was nothing in the note?"
"No...no there was nothing." The man sobbed again. Scarlett stood up, and pushed open the door to where the voices were. There were five people in there, four men- two of them were the voices that she heard- and one woman. She couldn't see their faces, after all, they were always distorted in some way to not allow any distinction from person to person.
"Oh Padfoot." The woman wrapped her arms around the man crying. Padfoot? Who is named Padfoot? Maybe a nickname? "We'll get through this, I promise."
"I just don't understand. What did I do?"
"Nothing, you did nothing. It was her, not you." The woman assured, her hand running up and down the crying man's back. Then it was back, the tingling starting at her hands then moving across her body. And Scarlett let it happen.
"Scar? Scar!" Lyra's voice yelled in her head, the slight ache of falling over spread through her head.
"Merlin's beard, Lyra. Could you be any louder?" Scarlett's eyes opened to see Lyra standing over her body.
"Are you okay? What was it this time? I told the girls that you had to talk to Flitwick about your past test grade. I'm so sorry that I did that to you. I feel awful." Scarlett pushed herself onto her elbows.
"It's okay, don't do that again though. I know that you don't like him, but please just try to be civil," Lyra nodded, "But anyways, it was just that same man crying while some other people comfort him, never said what it was about though. Kept saying that this girl left him and stuff."
Lyra helped Scarlett up onto the closest bed. "You think that he has something to do with you, don't you?"
"I mean, yeah. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have me watch a random person's life for not reason." Lyra nodded, her brows furrowed in thought.
"Yeah...yeah, so maybe it's a soulmate thing almost?"
"Maybe." Lyra gasped in surprise after another answer came to her head.
"It could be your dad! You've never had a dad and your mum left him."
"I don't know. It seems a little coincidental, don't you think?"
"Or so perfect that its right." Lyra pointed out, a smile on her face.
"You exhaust me."
***
"You left me." Cormac looked at Scarlett after meeting up with her in the library.
"Yeah, I'm so sorry, I totally lost track of time and I didn't realize that the test was tomorrow, but I'm free now." Scarlett moved her bag off the chair next to her and looked from him to the chair.
"Whatever, anyways, we should go to my dorm."
"But I thought that people can't go into other house's dorms." Cormac took Scarlett's hand and pulled her out of the library.
"They can't, but I'm sure that we can find a way." He stopped suddenly in an empty corridor and pulled her close. "You're so beautiful." She could smell the sweetness of the butterbeer on his lips as he wrapped his hands tight around her middle.
"Thank you." Her arms pulled him closer as their lips pushed against one another's. Cormac soon moved down over her chin and to her neck, sucking marks on the pale expanse of her neck. "I-I know somewhere better than the dorms." She breathed out before capturing his lips again.
"McLaggen! Ten points from Gryffindor! And for you too young lady! That's ten points from Ravenclaw." McGonagall's shrill yell came from behind Scarlett's back.
"Let's go." She pulled Cormac by the arm and down the hall near the staircases to get up to the seventh floor.
***
"Cassie!" Scarlett whined as her young owl pecked at the toast that she was eating. "Go on, take it, you need it more than I do." Cassie, or Cassiopeia, was named after Scarlett's favorite things, constellations and Greek mythology. The bird held out her leg as she nipped at the now small piece of bread on the edge of Scarlett's plate. "Thanks, sweetheart." Untying the letter, she unfolded it, sighing at the first two words.
Dear Lettie,
I just wanted to let you know that I will not be home for your birthday this year. I am going to send a card early so that it will be there by the 19th of July. Happy early 15th birthday. Also, I hate this bird of yours and that you're so far away from me during the school year. Don't you love me? Just joking.
Mum
Scarlett used her sleeve to wipe her eyes as she tossed the letter over to her friend's for them to read.
"But your birthday's on the-" Mandy started.
"Twenty third of July." Scarlett hiccuped.
"And she said it was-" Lisa mumbled as Padma pulled an arm around her friend in the Great Hall.
"Nineteenth." Lyra finished, her eyes scanning over and over the letter. "And another guilt trip. I'm so sorry, Scar."
"Can we just go?" The girls- other than Scarlett- made eye contact and nodded to each other. Padma and Lyra helped Scarlett up and walked on both sides while Mandy and Lisa grabbed her letter, Cassie, and her bag. "She," hiccup, "just did that." She sobbed while a few students turned around to look at the five teenagers.
"Yeah baby, she did." Padma hugged her to her side tightly.
