I'd be too busy looking after you." He finally turned to looked at her. He knew full well if she was there he'd still have a blast but it just never crossed his mind at the time when he impulsively booked the trip. "They might think we're a couple and then my chances of banging them dwindle, they might all think we're trying to invite them into some throuple situation.." he paused for a minute before a smile curved his lips. "Which now that I mention it would be really hot" he nodded with a smile while getting lost in his thoughts."

Allison laid eerily still as the world slowly roused from its slumber. She never could stave off the creeping caution that kept her up. Imminent danger haunted every inch of her life since that hallowed day. A side effect of dancing between two worlds: not fully live but not completely dead. Rolling up onto her elbows, she peered at her phone with a burdened sigh. The bitter and gravelly taste of dirt sunk between the dotted grooves of her tongue. She could never stop the earthy dampness from invading her senses after all of this time. 

Was this PTSD? Or a mark for the devil who brought her back and stole her from her life. Allison didn’t linger long enough to contend with the choices that had formed her existence to this point. A drifter by trade and nomad by circumstance, she couldn’t recall how she’d gotten here. Her hand ghosted over her abdomen that had been freshly bandaged with too neatly to be done by her own hands. 

“If you’re going to yell or pass out, please don’t,” she groaned. The natural sense of alarm quieted as she’d taken in the feminine touches that cherished the room and the sweet aroma that often reminded her of the better times in her life.

“It’s been too long since we’ve seen each other, Lydia.”

the thing is, ali wanted to know more about eli. she felt a pretty damn strong connection in that hotel room they shared one passionate night in. it was like she was drawn to eli from the moment their eyes locked across the room and she knew she was done for the second they kissed. now, she knows she's making him nervous by how his demeanor is right now and she loves it. it causes her lips to curl into a smirk knowing she had this much power of him. it was amazing how fast things can change, because minutes ago she was close to crying and storming out of here and away from eli. but now, ali wanted to toy with him and she knew just the right way to do it. "oh, is that right?" ali steps into eli's space and closer to where he stood. "seems like bullshit to me, eli. because i can't stop thinking about it. i can't stop thinking about every single thing you did to me, and i'm going to guess you can't either." she definitely was guessing here, but might as well throw it out there. eli's reaction is all the answer she needs and ali doesn't even really listen to him actively try to deny it. "goodness, didn't i just say not to lie?" she gets closer to the point there's not that much room between them. "it's okay. keep living in denial," her hand slides up his chest before resting on eli's shoulder with her lips right against the shell of his ear. "but just so you know, every time i touch myself, i'll be thinking of you."

as she informs him of this, it makes him realize just how little he knows about her. he remembers that night though, and how he had dreamed about running into her again - but not like this. not when he's caught off guard, and his girlfriend was around.

swallowing the lump in his throat, he tries his best to compose himself but it's proving to be a difficult task. thank god odette had gone to the car. who knows what would have happened if she would have stuck around and ali had still decided to approach.

he doesn't really know why she's still standing here, or why he had even pulled her aside in the first place. eli should have just let her go in hopes that she would forget it and move on. "i know. i left it out. i shouldn't have...the night shouldn't have happened." so how come it was all that he could think about? as he's about to say something else, her entire demeanor changes and there's some sort of...twinkle? in her eye, that hadn't been there before.

his entire face turns red. eyes are wide now as he just...stares. he needs to deny it. she is on his mind, even on the nights he's with odette, but...she wasn't his girlfriend and odette was. "no, i - of course not. night's a blur. i was drunk, and it had been a mistake..."

most of these are pretty lukewarm but i'm gonna get flamed for them anyway but whatever. spoilers ??? ahead ??? idk read at ur own risk

i don't think andreil ever say i love you to each other; i feel like the discourse about this is virtually endless ever since nora said it but honestly her explanation was so valid??? they're such a show not tell couple it just makes so much sense for them to show the "i love you" in their actions than ever saying the words out loud. esp bc neither of them have ever really heard those words and have them mean anything real or true or actually loving. personally i think their little percentages and the "i hate you"'s and kisses and keys mean more to them than an "i love you" ever could. i'm not a purist on this tho i do think i could visualise it happening maybe somewhere along the road i just think nora's explanation for this is very very in line with canon andreil.

i don't hate thea muldani; i've made a post abt this but basically my thoughts around her are literally just: she's a human being, and she's never gonna be perfect. i also find it very...interesting how the fandom likes to flame thea (an explicitly stated woman of colour) for being "problematic" and a "terrible person/character" when she doesn't act all that different from andrew, neil and kevin (white men) ??? idk it seems a little strange to me bc she seems pretty on par with them on whatever moral compass this batshit crazy fandom has decided to impose on these fictional and very much morally ambiguous characters. anyway go check out my post i go a lot deeper into thea's character and why she does a lot of things wrong but i don't rlly think she's deserving of the insane amounts of hate she gets in the fandom.

i don't think andreil ever get married; this MIGHT be me projecting bc the idea of marriage is just a very complicated and rough concept in my mind but also just i feel like there's something so beautiful about andreil never really putting a label on their relationship??? like they never define it by calling the other their "boyfriend" or "husband" they just are. they have nothing "concrete" binding them like a marriage certificate but they choose to stay with each other through everything. idk it's real to me but again i'm not a purist people can do whatever they want.

i've said it before but i'll keep saying it till enough people hear me: the aftg fandom mischaracterises literally the main fucking characters; i'm mostly talking about andrew and ESPECIALLY neil here bc neil is not a sweet, sunshiney, oblivious, blushy softboy and andrew is not a cold, unemotional, stoic, "conceal don't feel" stone. since i've already bitched on and on about neil's mischaracterisation let's just talk about andrew for a sec. i think andrew is actually a deeply emotional person and is fully aware of the feelings he experiences. does he vocalise or express them often? no but more often than not they show themselves anyway. him crashing out after neil was kidnapped, letting himself get walked like a dog by neil for three books straight, choking allison for slapping aaron, idk i could go on. but yeah you get it.

i don't actually think neil is that oblivious; before people come at me like "but nora said!" or whatever yeah, i know she said he's as dense as a brick when it comes to people flirting with him. considering how much of the ec the aftg fandom likes to disregard allow me to disregard this little bit of it, yeah? this isn't me tryna impose my own projections onto nora's characters, this is lit just me tryna explain how i understand neil josten (he's my bsf btw). he literally clocks his feelings for andrew in trk (after his deep convo™ with nicky) but he just files it away for later bc he doesn't consider attraction or romantic interest anything to be thinking about considering he's got the mafia and his serial killer dad on his tail. i also don't really blame him for not catching onto andrew's feelings earlier (tho doesn't he get pretty fucking close during that one convo they have in exites in trk???? someone correct me if i'm wrong but) bc dude andrew was out here sending fucking mixed ass signals like bro was saying "you are a pipe dream" and "i hate you" in the same fucking conversations like??? neil has always taken andrew at face value and he's not about to question him now. he's also never confused or uncertain about nicky or marissa and what their comments about him meant, he just genuinely does not gaf about them so he doesn't acknowledge them or pay them any attention in his narration. i truly truly think his dismissal of all the advances made upon him in aftg were borne out of indifference, not obliviousness.

have already said this in detail but i don't think andrew's actually a misogynist; the wording doesn't feel right. i'd probably describe andrew's distrust of women (esp. those in motherly/mother roles) as a similar ingrained wariness that neil has for older men. this is something borne out of trauma and shitty experiences that takes time and trust to unlearn. nora says a lot of things the fandom disregards and for me, this is one of those things i'm a little iffy about. misogyny actually isn't reflected in andrew's actions at all, i'd say. does he respect women? no. but he doesn't respect anyone unless they've actually earned it. and among the people he does respect and care for there are women (renee, bee). he doesn't treat women any differently and obv doesn't think they're any weaker than men are (considering renee wipes the floor w him their first sparring sesh). andrew's an equal opportunity hater and i don't think he actually has any sexist or even misogynistic tendencies. i think what is there is just a slightly biased worldview of disliking/mistrusting mother figures, given his bad experiences w tilda and cass (they've left him w more long-term emotional damage that's probably rlly difficult and complicated for him to work through esp considering cass did love??? him and he did want her enough to be willing to suffer dr*ke to be close to her; there's more to it but for the sake of word count i won't go into it) but honestly it doesn't actually show that much??? if people wanna say he hates women, sure, but for one, he doesn't hate a lot of things he's just very indifferent to them and two, he holds a pretty similar apathetic distaste for most people and things, so it's not like a very big distinction. i also think the whole "no girls" thing w aaron was very much a personal thing, and his mistrust of katelyn probably came from aaron's past (apparently negative) experiences w other girlfriends and friendships in general. and if i remember correctly the deal wasn't even "no girls" it was just "family only" which is why aaron didn't make friends w the rest of the foxes either. i digress but i don't think saying "andrew isn't a misogynist" is robbing him of any nuance as a character.

i like nicky and honestly feel similarly towards him as i do about thea; he isn't perfect and never will be and i think while the way he acts towards neil and others (see: matt, kevin) is pretty untoward and inappropriate, i also do see where he's coming from, esp after aaron's explanation of it. that it's a defence mechanism coming from someone who's experienced a lot of prejudice and harm because of his sexuality. obv i think everyone can agree his assault on neil was fucked up but i think nora was right in saying that nicky was high and drunk and not rlly in his right mind at the time, and he does apologise and i'm pretty sure she also said he and neil work it out privately anyway. he's a messy character and definitely not perfect queer rep but again, he's pretty realistic, and i think he's honestly a rlly well-written and complex character.

Everything Allison did last season being completely ignored except for her briefly saying that no one wants to see her and that little convo with Viktor and her never really apologizing

Five and Diego leaving their siblings to fist fight EACH OTHER when Ben has just turned into a huge, unkillable monster and everyone’s lives are in imminent danger

Everyone consistently saying that Diego was fat, only for him to be completely ripped when his shirt was off during the fight in the CIA office (and don’t try to tell me some bullshit abt it being cause he got his powers back)

Viktor and Reginald essentially having the same conversation of “I want to kill Ben”, “No, let me talk to him” over and over for the entirety of the last episode as if they kept forgetting that they’d already talked about this

Abigail’s reasoning for essentially causing the end of the world being because she felt she didn’t deserve to live because she created the marigold and Durango. Like, girl, go jump if you rlly wanna, but you don’t have to take everyone else with you

Five is consistently shown to be extremely intelligent, yet he can’t figure out the subway system when he’s stuck in it with nothing else to do and nowhere else to go for SEVEN YEARS!! Especially since every single other version of him did it!!

An attempt to salvage S4, for your delectation. S4E2

EPISODE 2:

Flashback of Diego and Lila: Them finding Lila's parents and happy, having Gracie and happy if stressed, more family moving in, Klaus goes to rehab, Five gets too drunk at family gathering. Luther moving in and out briefly, family fight as they follow Ben to the airport when he's moving oversees. Then the Twins and overwhelmed and More family moving in, Klaus and Luther and Five coming and going. Gradually feeling they've lost more of their life and too tired to interact. BOTH of them then start investigating the Keepers in very different ways after visiting Ben in prison: Diego notices someone with an upside down umbrella tattoo, he starts seeing them everywhere, packages with umbrella on them and starts tracking through stealing packages and stealing files after breaking into places etc, hiding all the evidence at home in his 'man cave'. Lila at the prison on another visit with Diego frowns over Ben mentioning this weirdo who's been writing to him talking about shared memories, she's overheard other people talk about this even as Ben doesn't seem anything but miffed - but they're things she knows happened. She digs in and worms in via another parent at school who is in the Keepers - overhears things and wends her way in and up the society rankings of the group under 'book club'.

They wake up with sickness and go about their days. (Viktor staying at Luther's but just groaning in bed), Luther has the show of his life, Five blinks himself into his super-secret subway tunnels and back by accident, Diego throws a package successfully, Allison is reading up on what she's studying at work and is being hurried - says she wishes they'd all give her a minute and maybe an aspirin - they do as if by magic. Viktor keeps hearing the building work outside and blows out a window.

They meet back at Luther's, pissed. Lila agrees hers are back too, throwing something accurately.

Ben comes in tentacles and all (keep em from his stomach).

Klaus is perfectly healthy - admits didn't take drink.

Ben gathers them all together and says he knows where Jennifer is and he's going even if they won't (though says it meaner, naturally) they agree they should all go, with some debating. (Ben is having visions of her locked up.)

They go to the village in much the same way  - Though, and I cannot stress this enough, there is NO baby shark playing, it's got to be some song about 'count with uncle Reggie' or something I mean come on, so many tricks missed when you do King Reggie's Chickadoo but not this? Poor. Ahem. Anyway...

They do their road trip, starts as normal, they pull over after Viktor blows the windows.

Ben and Klaus talk about why he didn't take the serum, Klaus says that if you'd been around as long as the old Ben had, or even the last few years, you wouldn't be asking. He's holding the dog tags. Ben says they need to stop seeing him as their dead brother, they're not the same person. Klaus says sure, but they both have the same sudden obsession over girls. Ben argues it's not sudden. Klaus says well it has been a few years, maybe if Ben doesn't want them to see him as their Ben he should spend some time with them so they could know him, just a thought. Ben sneers but then they're back in the car under Diego's road-trip dictatorship.

Diego and Five share a convo bonding about how Diego feels like himself for the first time in years, that he misses feeling this way. Five suggests that it doesn't have to be an either or thing, that Diego's made a family for himself a reason, and not to waste it.

They get to the village and split off, though there is a group with Ben as only he knows where Jennifer sort of is. They clumsily get the town residents more and more suspicious as they roam around and when one of Ben's tentacles slips out all shit breaks loose and it's a gun fight

The fight goes similarly - no lasers or hyper powers for them though just their own. Diego keeps his cool bullet spin move. Five goes to the subway and rides the train.

Ben runs through the fight to Jennifer, who is locked up, takes out the guards and the two stare at each other a while. This is the first real look we get of Jennifer. She sees his tentacles, he tries to hide them, reading her face as shock, she says 'you don't have to hide from me' though he still does put them away. They take hands and run out together, Jennifer won't stop looking at him, and is amazed he's come. Ben says 'well you're the only one who really knows me and still likes me'. Allison overhears that as she comes to drag them out.

Klaus is ambushed by a village person (pun intended)

As they make a break for the van wondering why they're not surprised this is the sort of place Ben's girlfriend comes from and are starting to ask questions they come across Klaus being shot.

He tries to get hold of the dog tags as he goes down but the family are holding him too much, he can't touch them.

The saving of Klaus goes much the same way, except when he wakes up he's horrified and pleading no, then panicking, Diego swerves the car all over and they end up in a crash.
