so I had this thought at literally 3am the other night, sat up in bed and wrote 16 pages in my notes app

buffynatural - probably a 20 year old concept at this point. buffy is dean, dawn is sam, giles is bobby, spike is crowley, willow is charlie, etc. the winchester brothers are the summers sisters, it works perfectly.

BUT I feel like the most obvious thing to do would be to have angel be cas. extremely similar vibes, he’s literally called angel, destiel can be bangel, perfect. but I actually don’t gaf about bangel at all and am in love with charisma carpenter SO!!!

CORDY AS CAS.

I feel like if you’d only watched buffy, this would sound insane, but with ats context I think it’s actually perfect. cordy’s status as a higher being / part demon / power that be (?) makes her a perfect character to turn into an angel, and her arc on both buffy and angel was about understanding humanity, becoming a better person and breaking out of old habits and social hierarchies, just like cas. her and cas both have sort of different flavours of neurodivergent-coding - not understanding social cues, being brutally honest, etc. if you took away her pop culture references, cordelia’s vibe and way of speaking could translate perfectly to a bitchy, sassy angel.

also just. picture it. long messy hair, big trenchcoat, loose tie, tucked in shirt, pencil skirt or pantsuit. tell me she wouldn’t look so soul-crushingly beautiful like oh my GOD

oh and obviously the main appeal is it’s coffy. it’s cordy x buffy destiel au yuri are you picking up what I’m putting down are you as insane about this as I am because I highly doubt it

Character A and Character B meeting at a bar after their respective exes unceremoniously dumps them, and they lament over their losses for the night. It leads to more.

There was no way Connor was about to come to you, so you decided to make your way over to him across the room. He was wearing the same depressed expression you were sure you had on your face, too.

You knew him distantly, he’s pretty popular and hard not to miss around here. He’d been eyeing you for a while, you thought he was just looking to mess around like people always say he does at parties, but you also heard that he recently got dumped by his long time girlfriend. You didn’t think he was the type of person who would get impacted by it a lot.

For yourself, however, you saw the moment approaching months beforehand, but you were pissed that he had to dump you on Valentine’s Day.

Oh well.

You stand in front of Connor, drink in hand, and shamelessly give him a once over.

He’s wearing a white sweatshirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms and you can see a silver chain peeking out from his neck. Unfortunately, his pretty hair is covered by a snap back.

You offer him your name and he politely returns the gesture, giving you the same once over you just gave him, making your cheeks burn only slightly when his gaze lingers on your cleavage. You chose this top, not with Connor in mind, but a distraction. Any distraction. It was your coping mechanism, and you think you’ve found it.

You do the basics, expressing your sympathy after saying you heard about his break up (you didn’t give a flying fuck) as he takes a swig of his drink (you asked him what it is in a sugary voice, even though you knew damn well it was beer).

You’re glad you had enough personality for the both of you to keep the conversation going over the coincidences of your terrible love life’s. He warms up to you pretty quickly, laughing shortly at your crude jokes.

Its not long before there’s only a few inches between the two of you. Connor offers you his drink and you open your mouth, indicating that you wanted him to pour it into your mouth. You don’t break eye contact even after taking a sip and wiping your mouth with the back of your hand. Or after he takes a drink as soon as you finish. Or after you step an inch closer and his hand loosely drops to your waist.

You don’t stop until your body is entirely pressed against his and your lips are moving deliciously in sync, as if the night was feeling generous to your loser souls.

Of course, a distraction was a one time thing. Its not like he’ll be the best distraction you’ve had in a while, or he won’t ignore you right after like it was nothing, or that his touch and lips were made for you.

Nah.

when you rewatch Angel and remember that Connor (if he hadn't been kidnapped) would have been part of the class of 2020 and he would have had a Zoom graduation and can you just imagine how pissed Angel would be, cuz he's not great at tech and I just envision Angel squinting at the laptop or smartphone and just grumbling and Cordelia just rolling her eyes. LOL

Since I was little kid, I always imagine there's spinoff about well adjusted Connor after Angel tv show. Whole world wants to see more of well adjusted Connor as much as I do. Like everybody wants to see his normal life with his adoptive family (The Reilly Family, his adoptive parents Laurence Reilly and Colleen Reilly, his adoptive aunt, and his adoptive sister) and his new friends in his college Stanford University. His new girlfriend around his age or same age as him. Continue fill his destiny of being real champion to help people after killing Sahjhan and help his biological father Angel. Bonding with his biological father Angel and his favorite surrogate uncle Spike. Bonding with his three mothers ghost of his biological mother Darla, his surrogate mom Cordelia Chase and his adoptive mother Colleen Reilly. Connor deserves to have spinoff tv show.

I know the show over but imagination lives on to create fanfiction. People will create good fanfiction for Connor spinoff after Angel tv show.
