so. samwena wicked AU.

the obvious choice would be sam as glinda - he’s likeable, conventionally attractive, he’s a straight white man, he’s a hero and a natural leader - and rowena as elphaba - literally the wicked witch! no one mourns the wicked fits them in canon extremely well going off of that angle.

BUT!

if you think about their ACTUAL characters, sam is extremely elephaba-coded, like to a shocking degree. he never felt like he fit in, always felt like a freak, like something evil. he was created by a villain to be a weapon, with powerful psychic abilities that he doesn’t understand, and he’s manipulated into using them for evil despite his pure intentions. he’s an academic, a bookworm. he is the type of person to rebel, to take a stand.

rowena is shallow, selfish, materialistic and hungry for both magical and social power, but with a good heart buried FAR far beneath all that; a good heart that only comes to the surface through grief and regret. extremely glinda coded.

dean is very fiyero to me. so cutting out the elephaba-fiyero (sam and dean) romance and making it more of a building brotherly bond without making them actual blood brothers, and making the subject of the love triangle glinda (rowena) instead would be perfect. sorry (very much not sorry at all <3) no wincest here LMFAOOOO

i’m also thinking cas as the goat professor, azazel or crowley as madam morrible, and the wizard would be either chuck or lucifer i can’t decide. boq and nessa just don’t really fit anyone imo but if you have any ideas i’m open to them!

so yeah! i just can’t stop imagining a 20-year-old jared and ruth (the actors are actually roughly the same age if you didn’t know!!) playing witch rivals-to-lovers, acting out all the best gelphie moments and singing all the songs. i’m so obsessed with this idea i simply have to write it BUT I ALSO WANTED TO POST ABOUT IT BECAUSE PLEEEEASSEE I NEED ART FOR THIS DO YOU SEE THE VISION AAHHH

also yes black-haired green-skinned sam is part of the vision. i know it’s extremely cursed BUT GUYS IT WOULD WORK OKAY IT’S THE VISIONNNN
